THE UNEXPECTED LOVE

Edwin returned but couldn’t believe his eyes-the room was well dressed and things arranged in order. He glanced at Melody who was smiling at him on the bed and said, “Which law did you apply on this room?”
“The law of cleanliness” Melody replied still smiling.
“And what dose the law state?”
“The law states that cleanliness is next to Godliness and directly surprise people like Edwin who don’t give a clear explanation of where they go to before going”
Edwin smiled understanding what she meant, so he met her on the bed in away his head laid on her thighs and said, “I’m sorry for not telling you where i was going”
“Apology can only be accepted if you tell me where you went to”
“Okay, i will tell you in one condition. In a condition that you close your eyes”
Melody smiled with her eyes closed anticipating to have a k-ss from him but she waited so long for that to happen but there was no reaction, then she asked, “What are you doing?”
“You can open your eyes now” Edwin said before she gradually opened her eyes. To her surprise, she saw a sparking ring before her then she held her chest in surprise staring at it.
“Please, marry me” Edwin said from her thighs looking very serious.
“You are joking, right?” she asked.
“I’m not joking my love. Please, be the mother of my children. I love you so much”
Melody suddenly began to smile which got him worried. “Yes, i will marry you my love” she replied still smiling.
“Wow!” he jumped up and placed the ring in her finger then began to kill her in a way he was on top. He tried to undress her with the joy in him but Melody prevented him saying, “Remember the law of cleanliness”
“Yes, i remember. Cleanliness is next to Godliness and directly..”
“Stop” she interrupted him. “You have heard it. “Cleanliness is next to Godliness, so don’t defile this clean room with s€×. You have had enough of it. Jeez! Men! You guys will never get tired of s€×. Don’t worry, you will get tired in our matrimonial bed”
“Which one is this bed?” Edwin asked smiling.
“This is a bachelor’s bed”
“Are you calling me bachelor?”
“Then who are you?”
“I’m a bachelor” he replied and they laughed.

Mr Thompson got more angry when Linda explained to him that the owner of the pregnancy denied it and his phone number suddenly vanished from existence. So he sent her out of the house giving a deaf ear to his wife and Tochi’s pleads. The day was already getting dark, so Tochi had no choice but to take Linda to her house. It was disastrous!
At the resident of Mrs Desmond, Tochi explained to her mother and she agreed to shelter Linda in as much as her daughter is concerned and promised to talk to Linda’s parents.

#THE_NEXT_DAY
Without Linda’s knowledge, Tochi went to Kingsley’s house for the very first time. She saw nobody but him sitting in front of the compound without a shirt on. When she saw him, she withdrew her face from the attractive muscular body.
“Please, put on something abeg” she said, then Kingsley smiled and wore his singlet. “That’s how you tempt all these girls around here with this body” she added and sat with him on the long bench.
“You are welcome” Kingsley said and suddenly frowned his face because he knew why she came. So Tochi looked at him and said, “I know how you feel. It is always hærd to forgive someone like Linda in this situation. She is gradually breaking into two. You need to see the emotional pains she is passing through and how sorry she is. I know what she did is wrong but please, show mercy to my only friend. She needs you now more than ever. Please, i beg of you”
As Tochi explained, Kingsley laid his head on the wall trying so hærd to withstand the tears which circled in his eyes.
“But why must Linda do this to me?” he asked bitterly. “What exactly do you want me to do now? She is pregnant for another man for goodness sake”
“She only needs your forgiveness” Tochi replied.
“I’m sorry, i can’t do anything”
“Please, i beg you. Her father sent her out of the compound because of this. She couldn’t even sleep last night. She cried throughout the night. Please, i beg you, she needs someone to console her”
“I can’t do that, I’m sorry” kingsley went in,side the house drying his tears while Tochi went home looking disappointed.

6:00PM
Kingsley laid on the bed remembering all the time he had with Linda in school. He sometimes smiled and giggled at some of the thought like when Linda gave Vivian a slap. He smiled at the first k-ss they had and was moved to forgive her because his heart longs for nobody but her.

At the resident of Mrs Desmond who was not at home, Linda remained in Tochi’s room refusing to eat something and her eyes never ceased to shed tears.
“Will you always be like this?” Tochi pitied her feeling her eyes w-t with tears too. “Please, don’t hurt yourself because of this. I beg you in the name of God” she added. Just then, Kingsley came…
 
Tochi averted her eyes from Linda immediately the sound came from the door. She couldn’t guess who the person was because nobody had ever knocked at her door. Her mother only opened it without knocking or knock and opens instantly. Was it Wisdom? No, Wisdom only go straight to the backyard and rather make himself known using his mouth than knocking. Sometime, he doesn’t even say a word but stands at the door until his presence is noticed.
Tochi cracked the door opened. “Kingsley?” she dried her tears again and rubbed her hands on her black skirt like a Tata.
Hearing the name, Kingsley, Linda sat up gazing at the door. She couldn’t see anybody but Tochi. But when the door was opened widely, she saw Kingsley gradually walking towards her. While Tochi stood at the door to take a look of what will happen.
“kingsley..” Linda paused.
“How can i stay when i know you are in pains?” Kingsley began. He stood beside the bed staring at her. “If i dont forgive you who will i forgive? If i turn my back on you, definitely i I’m turning my heart and feelings down…”
Linda jumped up from the bed and hugged him crying uncontrollably. “I’m so sorry. Please, forgive me..”
“Is okay, i’ve forgiven you already” Kingsley held her tightly while she cried on his shoulder…

Wisdom and Chester were together in the room-Chester’s. It was no different from one of the rooms he entered when still in London-the electric white bulb, pumping bed and pillows and other modern materials.
“Guy, you are lucky” Wisdom adjusted on the bed wearing a light T-shirt which matched his complexion. “Or should i say Esther is lucky?”
“We are both lucky” Chester replied in front of a mirror. He adjusted his tie in a black suit then turned. “How do look?”
“You luck great. Now, i can say that Esther is the one lucky”
“Why, bro?”
“Because you are far more handsome” they grinned.
“You won’t believe how beautiful she is now” Chester went back to the mirror but Wisdom remained quiet. “That reminds me, isn’t it time you propose to Tochi?”
“Propose?”
Chester turned as if the question was weird. “Yes, pro-po-se” he opened his eyes widely.
“Calm down, bro. I will definitely do that”
“When? Until thy kingdom come? All these boys around will take her from you if you don’t act fast” he returned to the mirror again smiling at his own joke.
“Tochi can never fall for that” Wisdom boasted smiling too.

Linda minimized the rate of her tears. She sat side by side with Kingsley on the bed. However, Tochi had gone out giving them some privacy.
“You know what?” Kingsley began. “I also have a confession to make. If i were to be a girl, i would probably be in your shoes now. So it doesn’t matter anymore. What matters now is after everything, we still love ourselves” he looked at her. “I still love you”
Linda stared at him but suddenly averted her eyes. “But what about the pregnancy? Should i abort it?”
“No! Don’t, the owner will one day come for it. Don’t harm an innocent child” he hugged her.

#THREE_WEEKS_LATER
Calista had wedded already. Now it was Chester’s wedding.
Jennifer, who was her bride’s maid, and her mother totally became deep into the things of God.
The news was everywhere-television, news paper, social media: That the only son of Mr Silva was getting married to a daughter of Mr Godwin.
Everybody was in the church-Tochi, the bride’s maid of Esther, Wisdom, the best-man of Chester, Linda, kingsley, Jennifer, Calista and her husband, Edwin, Melody, even Mr Nelson, the principal and Mr Anuma who stood beside him admiring their handwork-bringing up the children academically. Mr Anuma adjusted his eyeglasses when the marriage kicked off. “I will enjoy this” he nodded his head.
Tochi and Wisdom occasionally glanced at each other when the priest was joining Esther and Chester together. However, Jennifer noticed a fair handsome guy admiring her from a distant. She averted her eyes instantly when their eyes caught.
“You may now k-ss your pride” the priest announced. Then Chester slowly unveiled Esther and k-ssed her. Everybody began to clapped.
Kingsley glanced at Linda. He smiled at her and held her closer to himself as not to feel… outside the box.
“Better get prepared oh” Melody whispered to Edwin and they laughed.
The wedding came to an end. When the pride and the groom went home, everybody, who knew Mr Anuma gathered around him outside the church feeling happy to see him once again. Even Mr Anuma was surprise to see how fat, tall matured and most of all, handsome and beautiful his students were.
“Sir, i miss you!”
“Yes, even your grammar!”
“And your mode of talking!”
“Even your dressing!” they all shouted and laughed.
“Look at you now!” Mr Anuma adjusted his eyeglasses and put his hand in,side his pocket. “See how predominantly your bodies have squash unflinchingly”
They laughed. Even Mr Anuma smiled at his own words. Just then, Jennifer noticed  the guy coming to her..
