Francis sat in the sitting room going through his message when he heard the door open and was even more surprised to see Joanna limping out of the room.

“I thought you said you wouldn’t strain it?” He asked.

“I did but I have to show you some thing” she said with excitement.

She got to the large sofa he was sitting on and sat on it before showing him her phone.

“It’s got to be a dream right?” She asked a smile on her face while Francis read the message.

“Pierce certainly can’t be asking me to have dinner with him right?” Joanna asked again and Francis turn his head to see her smiling to herself.

“Does his message makes you that happy?” Francis asked and she nodded.

“To be sincere I feel it a bit strange for him to ask me out to dinner, what do you think? Has he finally notice my feelings for him?” She asked him in return.

Pierce is probably trying to show interest in Joanna due to their conversation that morning.

*”I don’t care about my feelings, what I do care about is Jocelyn and her feelings. She loves you, so try to give her a chance and I will do the same with Joanna”*

He sighed when he remembered Pierce exact words. Is this the chance Pierce is willing to give Joanna just so he will get him to see Jocelyn in a different way?

“I don’t know, so will you go?” Francis asked.

“Do you want me to?” Joanna asked in return starring at him.

Francis was taken aback by the question and he also felt a bit happy that she wanted his opinion.

“Well I don’t think you should….”

“Am going to go” she said cutting him off abruptly.

“You are going?” Francis asked.

“Am dying to know why he’s asked me out, so am going” she answered and that got Francis feeling angry.

“Since you are good with styles, why don’t you tell me the kind of clothe I should wear tomorrow?”

“Wear what ever you want” Francis said getting off his seat and heading to his room.

“What’s wrong?” She asked which got him stopping mid way.

“Nothing is, nothing at all!” He yelled before going in leaving Joanna wondering just what she did to make him angry.

∆ ROYAL COLLEGE, NEXT DAY ∆

Francis walk into their private lounge only to see Pierce alone in the room busy with his phone.

Still angry by Pierce action, Francis ignored him and went to the small refrigerator to get a bottle of water, he was still drinking when he noticed Pierce gaze on him.

“Drinking your sorrow away?” Pierce ask a smirk on his face.

“And what’s that suppose to mean?” Francis ask in return.

“Am sure Joanna must have shown you my text to her and that is certainly eating you up cause you love her” Pierce said pointing out on Francis true feelings.

“What game are you playing?” Francis asked.

“I told you not to mess with Jocelyn, I told you to give her a chance but instead you made her cry and got her more depressed ” Pierce said, the smirk on his face gone to be replaced with a look of anger.

“Would you care to explain that better?” Francis asked moving towards him.

” Last night, you were suppose to meet up with her but you stood her up making the poor girl sad” Pierce said.

“I never stood her up, I clearly told her why I had to leave and that we should reschedule the meeting, if she was hurt by it then she could have said so instead of her running to you like a little child” Francis explained also getting angry too.

“That’s because she’s fragile at heart, she was hurt when you left her to go be with Joanna!”

“Some thing happened to Joanna and that was why I left and if you are only showing an interest in Joanna because of what happened last night, I suggest you stop” Francis said.

“As long as you don’t treat Jocelyn the right way then I won’t stop. See how it feels to have the girl you love with another guy” Pierce said as he stood up to leave but Francis took hold of his arm preventing him from leaving.

“Don’t play with Joanna, I won’t allow that” Francis said glaring at him.

“Don’t worry, I don’t intend to play with her, on the contrary my plan is to make her fall more deeply in love with me” he said pulling his arm out of Francis hold before leaving the room just as Nicholas walked in.

“What’s wrong? Why was Pierce angry?” Nicholas asked.

“Go ask him yourself ” Francis replied as he also left the room leaving Nicholas feeling more confuse.

∆ EVENING ~ RESTAURANT ∆

Dressed In a green figure hugging gown, Joanna slowly walk into the restaurant partly because of her injured foot which was enclose in a shoe which kept hurting it.

She knew she had made a mistake by wearing the shoe but the thought of getting into a row with Francis prevented her from going back in.

He had been upset last night and he still was this morning and just so a fight wouldn’t ensue between them, she had patiently wait for him to go into his room before leaving the house.

And right now thanks to her choosing not to go back to the house, her foot hurts a lot, she thought as she slowly made way to Pierce.

“Are you okay?” Pierce asked when he saw the way she was walking.

“Am fine,I just strained my foot a bit” she said as she took her seat.

“You should have told me that you couldn’t come” Pierce told her.

“And miss this chance, No” she said shaking her head slowly.

The waiter approached them, handing the menu to them.

Joanna sat staring at the menu, truth be told, she’s never been in a posh restaurant like this. she rather prefers a place where she would eat in comfort.

“Have you chose some thing?” Pierce asked.

“No, all of it looks tempting to me” she denied trying to distinguish one dish from another.

She didn’t want to seem like a novice in front of the guy she likes but unknown to her,Pierce had notice and he couldn’t help but to smile a bit.

“Why don’t I order for the both of us” he suggested and immediately Joanna nodded which got him smiling.

“I must seem a fool to you right?” Joanna asked slowly.

“Now why would you say such a thing?”

“Cause I couldn’t pick a dish,truth be told it’s my first time being in a posh place like this. The only thing I understand amongst the list of dish is the steak but the rest are completely new to me” She admitted.

“I mean why would they put a leaf on a soup, doesn’t that ruin that dish and…..” She stopped talking when Pierce burst out laughing.

“Did I say some thing wrong?” She asked starring at him innocently and he couldn’t help but to nod in reply still smiling.

“I must look like a fool to you right?” She asked again putting her palms over her face in embarrassment.

But then she felt Pierce hand pulling her hand away.

“No, thanks to you I get to laugh and the dish where they put a leaf on it as you’ve put it is the best here, you should try it ” Pierce said while she nodded slowly.

“My text must have come as a surprise to you right?” He asked when they were eating a while later.

“It did and am glad” she said slowly.

“Why?”

“I don’t know if Francis has told you but I like you. Am sorry if I surprise you with my confession but i just wanted you to know and I don’t need a reply now” she said smiling at him and Pierce found him self starring at her.

Amongst every thing, he never thought about Joanna feeling. Is he doing the right thing? He thought just as Jocelyn crying face appeared to him.

He shook off the feeling of guilt he was feeling and chose to use the opportunity.

“Well am a bit surprise by your confession and just like you want, I won’t be giving you my answer now but instead can we do this more often?” He asked suddenly.

“Ugh?”

“Can we go out more often?” Pierce asked again and she smiled before nodding.

The smile did it, he didn’t know why but he was drawn to her smile and his heart did a weird skip which got him feeling flustered.

Drinking his whole glass of water, he continued eating pretending all is well.

∆ JOANNA & FRANCIS APARTMENT ∆

“Boring, boring, boring” Francis muttered as he sat up on the couch switching off the TV.

“Not even a call?” He muttered starring at his phone.

He couldn’t get to relax after Joanna left for her date, he tried to pretend that her going to meet Pierce didn’t affect him but it did, To be sincere the thought of her being with Pierce is driving him insane with jealousy right now.

After hours of thinking, he’s finally convinced that he is in love with Joanna,he loves her so much that the thought of her being out there with Pierce has got him feeling unease.

He was still thinking when he heard the door bell, he got out of his seat and open the door only to see Jocelyn there.

“Hello” Jocelyn said with some things in her hand.

“What are you doing here?” Francis asked slowly as they made their way into the house once again.

“I was out buying some groceries and I thought that I should do some groceries for you too” Jocelyn said making her way to the fridge.

“You shouldn’t have bothered, Joanna and I did that yesterday” because Jocelyn back was turned to him, he failed to notice the angry look that cross her face even as she stock the things she bought in the fridge.

Fixing a fake smile on her face, she turn to him.

“It doesn’t matter, the more food you have at home, the more you can eat and be healthy” she said as he slowly nodded.

“Are you alone?” Jocelyn asked pretending not to know about Joanna and Pierce date.

“Yes and am glad you are here cause we’ve got to talk” He said.

“About what?”

“Why did you tell Pierce that I stood you up? We both clearly know that I didn’t, I told you that I had to leave and that we should reschedule the meeting?” Francis asked.

“Well to me it felt like you stood me up and when Pierce noticed my tears, I decided to tell him the whole…..”

“Lies, you are lying to me? You knew what would happen but yet you told Pierce that lie? What sort of game are you playing?” He asked startling Jocelyn into silence for a while.

“It’s not a game. I only told Pierce that to push him to the girl who loves him, a girl who I don’t like being close to you” Jocelyn admitted.

“Talking about that, let’s get some thing straight here, I don’t love you Jocelyn and to me you will always be like a kid sis and…..” He stopped talking when she banged the table angrily.

“When exactly would you stop seeing me as the little girl, am a grown up and am in love with you. Can’t you keep that in mind instead of thinking of me as a little kid”she said fiercely.

“Jocelyn you are a lovely girl and am sure that if you look around you, you will find a great guy but I don’t feel a thing for you,well in a romantic sense, I don’t but…..”

“Why? Cause you are in love with Joanna?” Jocelyn asked cutting him off abruptly.

“Yes, I am in love with her and that’s the reason why I can’t reciprocate your feelings” Francis said.

“Well if you won’t like me back now, am willing to wait ” she said and before he could say a thing, she continued.

“If Joanna felt the same way as you , she wouldn’t be out on a date with Pierce which makes me feel glad. Am glad to know that she doesn’t love you and she will never do that as Long as Pierce is around her and I also plan to do the same, I will stay by your side until you end up noticing my feelings and stop treating me like a little girl ” Jocelyn said.

“I didn’t want to say this before but I think I have to. Pierce loves you, he just doesn’t know how to tell you and….”

“I know about Pierce feelings for me and I don’t feel the same way, I don’t love him and that’s why I told him of my feelings for you, to get him off my back but still….anyway I can’t ever return Pierce feelings cause I love you” Jocelyn said.

“There’s no talking sense into you right?” Francis asked and she nodded.

“I was shy and too scared to admit my feelings in the past and that was why I left to get rid of the feelings I have for you but I won’t be doing that now, keep that in mind” she said as she walk out of the kitchen heading out.

Feeling frustrated by the whole thing, Francis followed her.

“Thanks for bringing me home” Joanna said as she and Pierce slowly made way to the apartment she shared with Francis.

“A gentleman must see his lady to her door” Pierce said smiling and getting affected by it,Joanna couldn’t help but to smile too.

They both still had the smile on their face when the door open revealing Jocelyn and Francis.

On seeing the both of them, the smile disappeared from both their faces.

“I can see you two went on a date,we both were also having our date” Jocelyn said before Francis could stop her.
