Chapter Thirty Two

Steven heaved as he walked behind his father. Why is he even trying to hide his stepsister from his father? Like he said to here the other day, he isn’t like his father even though he did joined his dad in maltreating her.
He shook his head and adjusted his tie. He didn’t want to go there now.

“Are you really keeping something away from me? I know the boss is in there but why did you had…..”

“He isn’t there. He went out.” Stevn cut him off. His father is really a suspicious person.

“How did you know? You told me you’re meeting him at this time. Ah! I forgotthe kind of person he is.” Gerald scoffed and walked faster to the car packed outside the company.

“Sir! Sir! Are you done with the meeting already with the secretary?” Mr Ben said, coming out of his car too to meet them.

“There’s no meeting. I didn’t even meet the secretary or the boss.” Mr Gerald replied.

“Secretary Kim is in,side and the boss actually asked her to attend to you. You didn’t meet her? Where the hell did she go to?” Mr Ben gro-ned, raking his hair with his fingers.

“Did you see the secretary in the room?” Gerald faced his son, waiting for an answer.

“No, i didn’t. Or maybe she had to get something before we come in.” Steven said.

“Hmm, that explains the suspicious moves you’ve been doing earlier.” Damn! “Did you know the secretary somewhere or i might know her but you didn’t want me know?” He tilted his head. He wanted to figure out the person his son didn’t want him to see but he couldn’t think of anyone at that moment.

“No one father. We can come back tomorrow.”

“Yeah, You can come back tomorrow. You will see both Sir Damien and secretary kim. We will arrange the meeting and tell you when you willbe coming. Sorry about today.” Mr Ben apologized while Gerald just nodded and entered the car with Steven.

“Aishh! Where’s that tiny secretary for goodness sake? She can’t even do a common job. She messed everything up.” Mr Ben rolled his eyes at no one and marched into the company.

“Secretary Kim, Where are you?” Mr Ben called.

Kimberly peeped from her hiding and saw Mr Ben with no one behind him, she came out slowly.

“I’m here” She answered, making him flinch a little.

“Were you hiding?”He asked and she nodded. “Why?”

“Those two are my step family. My brother and father.” Kimberly responded, truthfully and sat down.

“Are they not kind to you when you were still with them?”

“Yeah.”

“Alright, but you should at least tell Damien that you won’t be……”

“He will understand.” Kimberly interrupted him.

Mr Ben snorted and frowned. “As if you know him very well. He will be mad at you for doing that. He won’t even care if you were once their punching bag before. Don’t worry, he will sack you and still give you your monthly salary for this month while i go process your sack letter.”

Kimberly smiled and nodded her head.

‘Urgh! Why is she smiling when she’s at the point of getting fired? Crazy girl’ Mr Ben walked out of the room to his office.

“Did you meet my secretary? I asked her to represent me.” Damien talked over the phone to Steven.

“Oh! Your secretary, she……”

Gerald collected the phone from him and placed it to his ear. “Why aren’t you there? We would have talked in person.” Gerald fumed.

“Who are you? Oh! I guess you are the CEO. Well, i had something urgent to attend to and i won’t be around. You can still come over if you want or you wait till tomorrow.”

“Come over, It’s almost seven.”

“I still have work to do in the office and will be going home by 9pm. I might still attend to you instead of you bothering yourself to come tomorrow. I’m on my way there now.” Damien replied him.

“Of course. I’m coming right away.” Steven’s father chuckled. “Felix, we are going back to that company.” He told the driver.

“Yes, sir” The driver answered and change their destination.

“Dad, is there something you aren’t telling me?” Steven questioned.

The fact that he was so determined to see Damien today and can’t wait till tomorrow.

“No son. I won’t be able to see him tomorrow. You know i have somewhere to visit. And i really need to see who you didn’t want me to see.”

Kimberly packed her things into her bag and walked to the reception to deliver a message from Mr Ben.

“Oh my! See who is here?” I didn’t expect to see you, my beautiful step daugther. So, you are here all along and Steven didn’t bother to tell me. You’ve been a b!tch, sweetheart.” Kimberly stepfather laughed and came close to pat her head. “Welldone, Kimberly. I finally set my eyes on you” He whispred into her ear.

Kimberly’s mind and brain stopped working for a moment. Why did they come back? Her step father finally met her and she won’t have any peace of mind now that the two of them are actually in Germany. Her face went pale and she manage to look up at Stanley but he looked away.

“I don’t have anything to do with you, Mr Gerald.” Kimberly said, trying not to mess up. Not to show she’s scared of him again. She won’t be that weak girl anymore.

“You daughter of a b!tch! How dare you deny your father? I never thought i’d see you today. I was really super suspicious today and i finally found you. Steven didn’t want me to know you are here. His case will be settled at home.”

Gerald hit her across the face and she whimpered. Everyone stopped to watch and that was when Damien appeared.

“Seriously? You have the nerves to cause a dirty scene in my company?” He frowned, boiling in anger too. How dare he lay his hand on his secretary.

“Sorry but this girl has been a bad one and i finally found her.” Gerald answered. He didn’t expect him to come.

“Even at that! She’s my secretary. You don’t have the right to abuse my staffs in my company. Now, get out. You are not worthy to even step this reception not to talk of my office.” Damien stated and turned to Kimberly who was already crying helplessly. Suprisingly in front of everyone, he hugged her close to himself and whispered into her ear to stop crying then k-ssed her forehead. “I’m here now. You don’t have to be scared.” He patted her and glared at Mr Ben who was busy laughing and hugging the pole in front of him to mock him.

‘I will deal with you later’ Damien chuckled within himself.
