Chapter twenty-

‘Was that part of the acting? I mean his mother isn’t even here.’ Claire said to herself.
She touched her cheeks and blushed.

“Come off it, Claire. That doesn’t mean anything.”

“Oh! Where’s Hunter?” Mrs Walter asked when she finally came back.

“He just left. Is something wrong? I can go call him for you.” Answered Claire.

“Oh no, don’t worry. I wanted to say I’d be leaving soon. A friend of mine called, telling me about an important business. So, I need to go check on that as soon as possible. Tell Hunter that, okay?”

“Yes ma. I will do that.”

Finally, Claire got into Hunter’s car and he ignited the car engine and drove out of the compound.

Hours later, The two got to the company but Claire was unable to come down from the car and Hunter noticed.

“Why? What’s wrong with you?” He asked, rolling his eyes at her like she irritates her.

“No…nothing. I’m going right now.” Claire stuttered and opened the car.

The staffs passing by stopped to take a look at her. She was dressed in a fancy cloth which wasn’t expected and coming out of the CEO’s car worth suspecting.

“What’s she doing with our boss?” They muttered as she moved.

“She’s just a cleaner” Someone scoffed.

On the other hand, Hunter has been watching. He came down too amd walked towards Claire that has been walking hastily. She just prayed inwardly to leave the staffs amd removed the dress to her cleaning uniform.

Large hands suddenly touched her back and she shivered. She knew the owner of those hands but she insisted not to look back.

“Follow me to my office” He whispered into her ears. Her bag dropped right from bher hands but Hunter was quickly to grab before reaching the floor.

“Yes…sir.” Said Claire reluctantly and followed him.

“Clean my office for me.”

“Okay, sir. I’m coming right away.”

“Where are you going to?” Hunter asked.

“To take the things I’d use for cleaning.” She answered him. He was just too close and her heart was beating fast like a party drum.

“Okay. Don’t change into any uniform. I want you to clean this place with only ypur p-nt and b-ra.” He declared.

“Huh? Sir, come again.” She wanted to hear him again. Maybe she misunderstood him.

“I don’t talk twice. Go take the things and come back. I’m waiting, Claire”

Claire took few seconds to get herself. She was going to clean the office unclad. Aissh!!
This is almost making her regret accepting the deal. But it’s for the better. She really need the damn money and needs to stick, to obey his every instructions.

She nodded her head and walked hastily out of the office to go get the cleaning tools she’s going to use.

“Isn’t thia deal getting out of hand?” She asked herself.

‘Oh forget about that. Forget it.’ She cautioned herself.

“Hey! Good morning, Claire! You don’t look good today, what’s up? Oops! You did a threesome yesterday?” Alice giggled as she flipped her hair and walked away with a smile.

“Ah! Threesome?” She repeated.

“Who? Wait! You had a threesome? Omg! When? Yesterday? Did you c-m from the mouth? Are………”

“Stop! Stop! What the hell? You expect me to have a three some or what? Wait! I’m sure you’ve had one before. You’re talking from experience.” Claire cut Ashley off, patting her shoulder. “I’m not dirty like you. Repent, heaven and hell fire is real.”

Ashley scoffed. “Since when did you become holy mary?”

“Few seconds ago, dear. Aishh! I need to get something before the boss kill me. Bye and see you later.” Claire ran off.

‘Beep! Beep!! Beep!!’
The machine in the ward beeped so loudly that the doctor ran helter skelter in search of one thing or the other.

“Oh my! His heart is beating abnormally.” One of the doctors said, looking at the small computer that shows Jason’s heart.

The machine was beeping with red light.

“Daniel, how are we sure if he’s going to survive this?”

“I’m not sure. Get the syringe in the blue box, Esther.” The doctor commanded.

“What took you so long?” His voice was husky, jerking Claire out of thought.
At the moment she was thinking of how her brother is doing right now.
Is he doing fine? Is he going to be alive, okay and healthy again? Maybe she could take permission from him to visit her brother.

“Sir, can…can I visit my brother? Even if it’s just ten minutes. I need to see him. I need to see how he’s doing. Please!” Claire begged.

Hunter saw affection in her eyes. He could see how he badly wanted to see her brother.
Somehow, he wished he could have a sibling to care for. Being the only child is sometimes boring.

“Clean the office.” He said, curtly and faced his laptop. He could see how sad her face at the moment. Hunter breathed in and out before he spoke again. “We are going to the hospital together to see your brother.” He declared.

“Huh! Thank you sir! Thank you so much! I really appreciate. I will get back to work.” Answered Claire. Excitement showed on her face. Making her glow.

‘Ah! At least he accepted. God! Make him not remember what he said minutes ago. Wanting me to clean his office unclad. Make him not remember that’ Claire prayed silently in her heart.

Hours of cleaning the large office, Claire walked out of the office. She couldn’t just wait to see her brother.

Later, her boss called her and they both went to the hospital together.
Getting there, she could see two nurses running towards the reception asking of something.

“I don’t know why but I feel somehow.” Claire stated

“What do you mean by that? Should we go back?” Asked Hunter.

“No!” She cried out. “I just feel a wave of sadness in,side me right now.” She explained.

“You just have to calm down and let go of all worries.” Hunter tried his best to calm her down.

He wasn’t used to telling people advice.
Suddenly, a doctor ran towards them from the corridor amd requested a phone number from a file which a nurse kept with her.

“Let’s just go to his ward. He will be fine” Hunter assured amd Claire nodded.

They stopped halfway when the doctor called them.
“Are you Jason’s sister?” The doctor asked.

Claire’s eyes w¡dened. “Ye-yes, is something wrong? How’s my brother doing?”

“I’m sorry, we tried our best but his heart stopped beating.” The doctor announced and Claire immediately touched her chest hærdly, wincing before she finally pass out.
