The Philistines rulers held a great festival in their temple. it was a big celebration. Crowded with people who has come from far and near to celebrate.

They were offering sacrifice to their god, which they called Dagon.
They were happy as they celebrate and worsh¡p their god.
They sang a song of Victory in unison.
“Our god has given us victory over our enemy Samson”…our god has delivered our enemy to us like a parcel… The one who killed many of us is now in our power…”
They chorused happily.

They drank wine and dance in mockery to Samson.
They became half drunk but did not care as they kept celebrating.

The people later demanded ” bring out Samson so that he can amuse us… let’s make more mockery of him…”
Samson was brought from the prison to the festival ground just so that the Philistines will make a joke out of him.

Samson’s was blind and he was guided by a servant.
His hair has grown out making his strength to return but the Philistines never knew this.
As he was brought in, they stood him in between two pillars which was supporting the roof.
They make him stand were everyone can see him and glory over him.
They throw pebbles and rotten fruits at him.

Samson said to the servant who was leading him by hand. ” Place my hands against the pillars that hold up this temple…I want to rest against them I feel weak to my feet”.

The temple was completely filled with people. All the Philistines rulers were there too.
There were about 3000 men and women on the roof top looking down at Samson as he amuse them. They laugh and kept drinking in merriment.

Samson bowed his head and prayed to the Lord quietly “Sovereign Lord, remember me again and have mercy on me. Forgive my foolishness that got me into this oh God of heavens. Please God, strengthen me just one more time… with one blow let me pay back the Philistines for all their mockery and for the loss of my two eyes… just one more time oh God of heavens”.

Then Samson put his hands on the two center pillars that held up the temple, pushing against them with both hands.

He cried out in anguish as he push the pillars with his might
“Let me die with the Philistines as this temple crash down…

And with one last hærd push and the temple crashed down on the Philistines rulers and all the people in it.
Samson also died with them.
And it was recorded that he killed more people when he died than he had during his entire lifetime.

Later his brother and other relatives went down to get his body.
They took him back home and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol, a land in isrealites where his father, Manoah, was also buried.

In the record, Samson judged Israel for twenty years.
