Patience !
Hmm patience!!
They say patience is a virtue
I have decided to be patient
That way I’ll be able to hurt her more
She has become so trusting
So ignorant of the evil that lies within
I’ll help her grow wings
She’ll soar higher
The tip of her fingers touching the crown
And that’s when I will begin to hurt her
That’s when I’ll clip off her wings and show her wickedness
That’s when I’ll send her to heaven!!
On the day of the nominations!!!!
It looks like Donald has already made himself clear from the beginning.
I only wish Ngozi could know this
I only hope she could understand it
Cause that’s only when she would realize the depths of Donald’s madness

Ngozi’s pov
I try very hærd to keep a straight face as chioma dropped her vote into Kate’s box
But deep down my heart was breaking
My own blood sister didn’t vote for me
That one vote means a lot to me
I try to console myself that she’s still six years old but I know better, chioma has always been smarter than her age
She dropped the second vote in Francis’s box before leaving the hall and it made me even more puzzled.
Bukky’s class, Ss3 commercial came to vote, I could also see the same confused look on Bukky’s face
She waved at us
” I’m sorry guys, I’m not voting ”
She said with a smile and mercifully stood aside
I couldn’t keep track of the votes, all I knew was that Kate and Halimah’s votes were on a steady rate but it was obvious that my votes surpassed theirs, those jss3 students really boosted my votes
Francis’s votes too wasn’t so bad and Donald, well let’s just say I actually stared at his box out of curiosity but what I couldn’t figure out is the person with the highest votes.
After the voting, we all sat down to count our votes and believe me it was very very stressful.
There was actually one vote that intrigued me, it was a full slip of paper and it was folded into a very tiny square
I pry it open and try to read the measly scrawly bad handwriting

Life is beautiful when you’re with the right person
I know the scar on my left cheek will be there forever but I don’t mind because Tony said it doesn’t mar my beauty.
I trace my fingers lazily around it

He came out of the room beaming with smiles, I’ve never seen him looking so happy.
” Angel, guess what ”

” I have just been given a contract by the federal government, I’m going to be supplying gas cylinders for a very big seminar in ogun state, Angel, we’re talking of millions of dollars!
” what! Wow! This is the greatest news ever!!
I squeal in delight, I wrap my arms around his shoulders and he twirled me in the air.
” I almost didn’t believe it, I mean it’s just like a miracle that out of all the people that were targeting that contract, I was the only one selected ”
” wow, we need to celebrate this!, oh my God!, we actually don’t have to sell the house!!”
” yeah Angel, we don’t have to ”
He pressed his l-ips against mine and despite my earlier protest I find myself responding back, his hands roamed around my body and I my wh0le body trembled like jelly.
He pulled back with a harsh gro-n and we both knew what would have happened if he didn’t pull back in that minute
” I know you said I shouldnt touch you but the truth is that I can’t keep my hands off you, I believe everything in life happens for a reason, it wasn’t just a mere coincidence that the two of us got entangled,

My eyes were wide open in amazement

Ngozi’s pov
Immediately we got home
I and Kate tore open Jerry’s mom parcel
My eyes became misty as I read the note
” to my favorite goddaughters ”
I bring out the two dresses
One was silver, it was a shimmering long gown, it had a slanted neck and it was strapless, it had a slit at the front and there were rose petals stitches around the base.
It looked like someone out of a fashion magazine
The second one was a black fluffy dress
It also had the same design, it’s only the color that’s different
We couldn’t decide which cloth we will actually pick.
The next morning..
Chioma woke up the next morning with a burning fever.
Her temperature was so hot, I became so worried
I instantly went to call mom and she started fussing over her
She refused to let anyone touch her, she insisted that I feed her medicine and only agreed to it only when I started feeding her
I look at my little sister, whimpering in pain and my heart went out to her.
Any time I try to leave the room, she would start crying, chioma isn’t as clingy as this?
I took her to the parlor with me and she seemed content just by seeing me.
I and Kate finally agreed on the dresses
Kate picked the black one and I chose the silver
I bring out my necklace, it was a gift from Cisco
And as I slipped the ring on my finger
I was overwhelmed with different emotions
I can’t believe I chose Donald over Cisco
But it’s too late now
” wow ”
Kate was breathtaking, the black dress suited her perfectly and the silver necklace sparkles on her neck
” wow Katie you look amazing ”
” so do you Ngo, that white dress looks f-cking good on you ”
I was about to step out of the house when chioma began to wail
” sister Ngozi, don’t go, don’t leave me”
Tears rolled down her chubby cheeks
” Chi Chi, if this is your own don’t leave me challenge,
It can’t work, I promise I’ll come back very early, I promise ”
” you girls shouldn’t worry, get going ”
My mom said
I took a step out of the house and hear chioma release a blood curling scre-m
I feel a shiver run down my spine
It feels like a bad omen
Chioma continued to scre-m in pain
I almost bumped into Francis and he just stood there staring at each other, he was wearing a three piece suit and it suited him perfectly.
” Ngozi, you look so beautiful ”
” thanks Cisco, you’re not looking so bad yourself ”
” um zee, the thing is that I don’t have an esc-rt and I was wondering if you know anyone in school that doesn’t have an esc-rt yet”

Kate’s pov
” wow! ”
I twirled around in amazement as I enter the hall
Everything was decorated nicely
It looks just like an actual gala
I could tell that there were some important people present, probably proprietors from another school .
There were even reporters from television stations, everyone were dressed accordingly, wow so it’s actually being aired on television.
Slow music was playing in the background
Wow this is beautiful, I was trying to find Jerry when I saw him walking towards me with a smile, he was wearing a grey tuxedo and a black bowtie, he suddenly looked very sophisticated and eye catching, I put my hands in his and he led me to my seat.
Suddenly the speakers were booming as Mr Smith’s voice echoed in the room
” anyone that’s outside should please come in now, the winner of the competition is about to be announced”
Everyone started trooping into the hall
Jerry looked unconcerned about the wh0le activity.
And I know it, deep down I know that Ngozi is going to win, I saw the size of her box compared to mine and Hannah’s.
After everyone had settled in their seats
Mr Smith once again took the microphone
” and the queen of Princeton college with one hundred and fifty votes is……..
Suddenly one of the teachers came running to meet him and handed him a slip of paper
Mr Smith read it with a grim nod
What could have been in that paper
The reporters surrounded him and they flashed the cameras furiously in his face.
” I’m sorry for the mix up, the Princeton queen with seventy five votes, she surpassed her opponent with just one vote, welcome miss Kate oladipupo!
MAKE SOME NOISE!!!! ”
People began to whoop and cheer and a slow music started playing
I almost didn’t believe it
Me! Princeton queen?
I walked to the stage with shaky feet, dreading the fact that it’s just one big prank
I walked to the stage and a beautiful sparkling golden crown was placed on my head
” and the Princeton king with one hundred and fifty five votes is Francis Nelson ”
I didn’t know when I shrieked in happiness
Francis walked up the stage and received his crown
Suddenly I saw Bukky running to the front with a dishevelled look, her eyes were frantic with worry
She curved her fingers on her mouth and mouthed the words
The words I dreaded the most
” Ngozi is missing and so is Donald ”

I know deep down we all want Zee to win
The only reason we want Kate to win is because of her financial situation
we all know what’s going to happen next right
It happens in most movies
The young dashing hero goes to rescue the damsel in distress
But can Francis actually save Ngozi from Donald’s madness
