Four years later🗽🗽🗽
I starred at the laptop, reading the mail over and over again
It couldnt be? Granny couldnt be dead,she is still someone healthy and still have many life ahead of her.
But why? Why did she have to die, I thought as I clutched the sheets in my hands
The letter had been simple and concise “This is just to tell you that Granny has passed away, Come back and say your goodbye
Dad”
I had to go back home, had to say goodbye fully to her
I had left in a rush and wasnt able to thank her for having being there with me when the rest sent me away.
The door to my office open and Liam walked in.
“Whats wrong love?” He said as he walked towards me
“Its my granny” I said as the tears slid down my face
“The one you were telling me about?” He said
“Yes, she is dead” I said crying and he pulled me into his arms
“I never got to thank her,to thank her for everything she did for me” I said
“Shhhh……its going to be okay”He said holding me tightly.
“I need to go back home liam, can you help me book a flight while I go home to pack” I said
“Sure my life, Can you drive yourself home “He said
“Yes”I said as I took my things
“You dont mind me leaving and travelling when there is a lot of work to do?”I said
“Of course not, this is urgent right?well I give you the permission” He said and gently k-ssed me
“Now hurry while I book a flight for you”He said .
I quickly went home and began to pack.
Its been four years since I left australia for new york.
And since that time have built a life for myself.
I finished my school and got a job in a well known company in new york.
There I met LIam, Liam who has been kind and sweet to me.
He has been the perfect example of a sweet man.
Scarred by the past, I refused him at first but then I realised that he was nothing like him.
For years I had avoided dating any one and it had been because of what happened in the past but then Liam proved to be different and I knew that he could give me the love I deserved, so I agreed and just yesterday he proposed to me and I accepted.
I wanted to share all this with granny when I see her again but fate has taken her away from me.
I wiped the tears off my face and carried my luggage outside.
I got outside to see Liam waiting for me.
“Am taking you to the airport “He said
“But there is a lot of work at the company” I said
“It doesnt matter, I can go back to it later, your my priority now”he said as he came to take my luggage with him.
We got to the airport and he accompanied through everything and when the plane to Australia was called he held my hand and gave me a k-ss
“Call me when you get there, if am not too busy I will come meet you” He said
“I will be there for just two days, you dont have to worry” I said
“Let me okay and besides it will give me the chance to meet your parents ” he said and gave me one final k-ss before waving me off.
I never told him about what happened with my parents, never told him why i left Australia, He hærdly knows a thing about my past.
And i wanted it to be that way, To me my family were dead to me, After all they sent me away without blinking an eye
I was even surprised to see the mail from dad, he had my email address for years and he never contacted me, it only shows that they never cared about me and still after four years its the same thing.
When I get back there, I will stay in an hotel for two days and then return here
New York and Liam are now my family, just as have been dead to them, they are also dead to me.
After hours of being in the plane, we finally got to Australia.
I went straight to an hotel and booked myself there and then I changed into black and went to the cemetery
With the help of the man who watched over this place, He showed me the particular grave.
“Grand ma” i said crying hærd.
I sat on the floor beside it touching the grave endlessly, Hoping that I could at least communicate well with her.
“Doing that wont bring back your grandma ” on hearing that voice I stopped
Its the bastard who had ruined me four years ago, The one who had hurt me repeatedly, the one I had vowed never to see again.
I took my glass and wore it on my face and then I turned to stare at him.
“Hello Dora “He said
I didnt bother answering and I began to walk off.
Just then I felt his hand on my hand and I jerked off
“What is it? Cant you see that I dont want to talk to you” I said
“Its been four years Dora , cant you even say Hi to an old friend” He said
“I would if he had been my friend but you aren’t my friend and just looking at you right now makes me regret coming back “I said as i jerked off my hand.
“Dora! Dora my child” I turned when i saw my mother starring at me
She came to me holding me tight ” have missed you so much”
I stood rigid in her arms not holding her back
“How have you been “she said
“Dont you think that its four years late to ask that” I said
“Dora?” I looked up to see Grace too
“Wow the wh0le family is here?” I said as i starred at them
“We’ve been searching for you? Why did you leave?”Grace said
“Cause i got tired, tired of you all” I said removing my glass
“The only lady that has ever loved me is now there in the grave , I only came back for her and not for anyone of you” I said
“We all behaved in a senseless way with you but…….”
“But nothing mom, I had made the mistake of doing stupid things for a man not worth it and i regret it so much, but you all, you all turned your back against me all for Grace right? Well she is the only daughter you will ever have cause I….I disown you all” I said
“That’s enough Dora” on hearing my granny voice, I turned to see her alive and she was starring at me
“Granny” I said in shock
“I never died okay, I only used that to lure you here and now that you are here, you will clear everything with your family” she said ……..
So everything had been a plan……. I cant believe this
