These past weeks had been quite an uproar after Veronica exposed Pastor Bestman and Alhaji Ibrahim, and to be honest, I felt happy when that bastard met his fate in that horrid way but I felt some pity for Alhaji Ibrahim.
Weeks after that life became normal soon the event that happened had become old news, Things were back the way they were, as for myself I concentrated on my work, and trying to keep myself in check, Veronica and I haven’t been in touch since she took down those two men, we haven’t called or seen each other since then, but I got back with Chris, a week after incident he came to my house on evening and apologized for no reason, after some talking we patched things up, and had s€× that night.
Chris had changed he wasn’t as up strung as he used to be, he stopped asking me about Veronica, I sometimes even wonder why he didn’t? So I decided to ask him why he stopped asking me about Veronica, he didn’t tell me, I had to pressurize him until he finally told me.
He told about the bout he and Veronica had, I was surprised she kicked his ass that easily, he was ashamed when he told me about it and even showed me the injuries he got during his struggle with her, I never knew she was this strong, its a good thing she didn’t kill Chris after beating the crap out of him.
One Monday afternoon, I was at home doing nothing and I was bored, Chris had gone to work so I decided to pay Veronica a visit, as I was about to leave, I heard a knock on my door, I went and checked who it was, It was a strange guy, he looked quite slim and he wasn’t much to look at, but his outfit was cool and his presence demanded attention, He stood at my door with a smile on his face, I wish he hadn’t cause the smile had brought out more of his ugliness.

Stranger ➡ Good afternoon madam.

Cherry ➡ Afternoon, how can I help you?

Stranger ➡ Yes, I was told you that you were friends with Veronica.
.
Cherry ➡ Yes? What business do you have with her?

Stranger ➡ Nothing! I’m just a old family friend of hers and I would like to know where she is. Perhaps you can take me to her house.

Cherry ➡ Sorry sir, Veronica and I haven’t seen each other for some weeks now and she moved out of her old house so I don’t know where she is right now, so I can’t help you.

Stranger ➡ That’s okay, since you don’t know where she is, can you give her this phone so we can communicate in case you see her, thanks for you time.

After he gave me the phone, he left the place, Something was suspicious about this guy, I didn’t believe his claim to be Veronica’s family friend cause she told me herself that they kicked her out. Besides who is he really?
After that, I drove off to Veronica’s house, as I was driving I noticed a strange car following me, at first I decided to see who was following me but as we came to a cross road point, the car took a left turn, Maybe I was imagining things.
A minute later I reached Veronica’s house, I parked my car outside and went in,side the house, as I entered I noticed Bobbie and Angie were having a good time, they were watching TV holding each other tight, I had to cough before they noticed my presence.

Cherry ➡ You guys are certainly having a good time, thieves will really have no problem bursting into this place.

Bobby ➡ Cherry, its been a while.
.
Angie ➡ Cherry noodles (laughs)

Cheery ➡ F-ck you Angie…. Where’s Veronica?

Bobby ➡ Oh Veronica she’s having her own good time.

Cheery ➡ Really?
.
Angie ➡ Yes, she’s fallen for a guy named Terry?

Cherry ➡ Terry? She’s in love? Veronica? Did he charm her?

Bobby ➡ You haven’t seen or heard anything, she’s planning to disband the group! No more heists.

Cherry ➡ What??? Why?? Are you guys cool with this?

Angie ➡ Sure… At least we have enough more to sustain us for life and once we get our share, I’m getting married with Bobby.

Cherry ➡ Wow, you guys are really cool with this huh? Well, nothing lasts forever, I’m happy for you guys especially Veronica. Oh…. I almost forgot a guy came to my house claiming he knows Veronica, he even gave me his phone to give her so they could communicate.

Bobby ➡ Did he mention his name?

Cherry ➡ No, he just gave me the phone and left. Here if she returns give her the phone.

Angie ➡ Okay o, see you later…..

Cherry ➡ Okay bye, give Veronica my regards.

I left the place and went out of the house, as I was about to enter my car, I noticed there was a car parking a few blocks close to a Mini Mart, it was that same car that I thought was following me, I stood watching the car for some minutes, could it be he secretly followed me? Maybe it was another car? Besides it was parked near the store so the owner must be in,side doing some shopping, I entered my car and drove off.
I decided to drive off to Justina’s place, as I arrived there, it was quite a crowd in there, The staffs were busy attending to Customers looks like business is quite good for Justina today, so I went to her office to check if she was there, as I entered there she was tapping on her iPhone, she seemed really into what she was doing, as I walked in, she took notice of my presence.

Justina ➡ Cheery, how far? Its been a while.

Cherry ➡ Yes, it has…. Aren’t you going to help your staff, there’s quite a crowd out there.

Justina ➡ Don’t worry, they can manage. So did you see the guy that came to your house?

Cherry ➡ What guy?
.
Justina ➡ He looks slim and not so good lookin.

Cherry ➡ Yes…. You told him where I lived?
.
Justina ➡ Yeah, he was bugging me for weeks to take him to Veronica’s house claims that he’s a family friend so I showed him your house.

Cherry ➡ Okay.
.
Justina ➡ Also some chiefs came looking for her, that your friend is quite popular.
.
Cherry ➡ Chiefs? Did they tell you why they were looking for Ronnie or who they were?

Justina ➡ They didn’t tell me their names but they said they had some issues with her claiming she is their wives friend, the funny thing is they thought her name was Bonnie but I enlighten them on that, I told them her real name, even showed them her pic.

Cherry ➡ What?? Why would you do that?

Justina ➡ Is something wrong?
.
I quickly left as soon as I heard Justina’s revelation, I knew something was awkward about that guy claiming he was Veronica’s friend, I entered my car and decided go to Chris for help but first I had to call Veronica.
Her phone was ringing but she wasn’t answering could it be they got to her first? I quickly started the car and drove straight to Chris. I just hope Veronica is safe.

To be honest being in love is one thing but being loved by the right person is Heaven. After that night Terry and I had s€×, something was awaken in me, I couldn’t explain but it felt like bliss, All my hatred and vengeance for men disappeared over night, I was in love with Terry and so was he, we spent our time dating, having s€× and other stuff.
Terry wasn’t the hot guy type but he was okay, he treated me with care and respect and gave me my space to do my thing, he didn’t care if continued stealing or robbing people just as long as we were together.
We couldn’t do without each other, I mostly spend the night at his place, and when we weren’t having s€×, we were busy doing other funny things, I got so committed to Terry that I forgot about my own gang, we no longer went on heist and they didn’t care, we had enough money to last us for the rest of our lives.
I began to see what my uncle was saying, maybe settling down and having a quiet normal life won’t be such a bad idea, and besides I don’t think Terry would want to spend the rest of his life with a thief if that is he wants to marry me, besides I wouldn’t want to bring Terry into my world either, so its better if I stop and end my career as a thief.
So one Monday morning, I woke up early and went to jog, i began to think about my decision of disbanding this group, but will they agree?
So I decided to ask them and see if they were okay with it.
After I was done jogging, I went back home and called them out to discuss the matter.

Veronica ➡ Good morning!

Angie ➡ Haba, Veronica the sun is not out yet!

Bobbie ➡ Yeah, I still need to go back to sleep.

Veronica ➡ Shut it, its 6:50 am, so stop bitching around and have a sit, there’s something I want to discuss with you guys.

Bobby ➡ Okay, what is it?

Veronica ➡ I’ve been doing some thinking lately about us and seeing how we’ve made progress so far, maybe its time to call it Quits.

Angie ➡ What are you saying?
.
Veronica ➡ I’m saying its time to stop what we’re doing and move on with our lives…. like normal people.

Bobby➡ Why making this decision all of a sudden?
.
Veronica ➡ Look, before we started this thing we’ve made some rules didn’t we, no kill, no falling in love and take whatever you can right?

Angie ➡ Yes.
.
Veronica ➡ Well, we’ve broken the first and second rule, Most of our victims have died because of us and we’ve all gotten someone special in our lives so….
.
Bobbie ➡ We didn’t kill them, their guilt and vile acts did. Not us.

Veronica ➡ Yeah but as for the second rule, we’ve broken it ourselves, we can’t continue doing what we’re doing cause we might put them in danger and that is a risk I cannot take, its better we stop this besides we’ve got enough money to start a new life, so what do you say?

They looked at each other for a while thinking about what I had said, it was the truth, besides nothing lasts forever and I don’t think I can keep this going on forever cause my body can’t handle the pressure.

Bobby ➡ Yes we agree but on one condition.

Veronica ➡ Which is?
.
Bobby ➡ as long we continue to see each after we split the money. After all we’re all friends.

Veronica ➡ (laughing) of course, we will…. Okay let me get going, tomorrow we’ll split the money equal ways.

I stood up and went back to my room, I was glad Bobbie said that cause there’s nothing better in this world than having loyal friends who love and stick with you till the end.
As I reached the room, I felt a lump in my throat, I quickly ran to the bathroom and Vomited, it was weird, I haven’t been eating much lately and I’m not sick, so what’s wrong with me, Could it be I was……. Jesus no!? It can’t be… But it could be possible, I’ve been feeling some stomach aches lately and my period ceased off for some time now.
I decided to go see the doctor, after a nice breakfast and a warm bath, I drove to the hospital.
Minutes later at the hospital, I waited for the doctor to show the tests that he had done on me, I prayed silently in my heart that it was not what I had hoped for.
After a while the doctor called me to his office, as I sat down, he was staring at me with a smile on his face. His eyes was measuring me as if he was trying to look through my body.

Veronica ➡ DOCTOR!!!!

Doctor ➡ Y – yes?
.
Veronica ➡ The test results?
.
Doctor ➡ Oh that…. yes I’ve checked them and there’s no problem at all…. your husband is a really lucky man.

Veronica ➡ Husband? Look Mr you’re wasting my time, I don’t have any husband.
.
Doctor ➡ Well, that’s odd cause the tests confirms you’re pregnant.
.
Veronica ➡ Preg.. What?? Are you sure you checked them properly?
.
Doctor ➡ Yes, you should be happy..
.
Veronica ➡ Yeah….. I have to go.
.
I stood up slowly and left the doctor’s office, I tried to walk but my legs were heavy and numb, in fact I couldn’t feel them, my heartbeat was getting faster, my head became dizzy all of a sudden.
Pregnant? God…. I wasn’t planning for this and besides what was I going to tell Terry that I’m pregnant just a month after we started dating, this is too soon…. Besides would he even agree? All these thoughts filled my head I had to find some place else to sit down, I don’t mind the pregnancy but I don’t want the child to grow up without a father and I don’t want my child to be a bastard.
As I stood up to leave the hospital, my phone rang, it was Terry, I didn’t want to answer his call but I had to.

Veronica ➡ Hello, darling.

Terry ➡ my Hot flame, how are you?

Veronica ➡ I’m fine…. Sort of.
.
Terry ➡ Baby, are you alright?
.
Veronica ➡ Yeah I am.
.
Terry ➡ Good can you come to my house, I would like to take you to see my parents.
.
Veronica ➡ Now!?
.
Terry ➡ Yes but if you’re busy…
.
Veronica ➡ No I’m on my way.
.
I ended the call and went out of the hospital and drove to Terry’s house, Why would he show me to his parents? Besides I hope they approve, and how do I tell terry I’m pregnant for his child? This day is not what I hoped it would be.
I arrived at the house a bit later, Terry was waiting for me at the front of his house, as I parked my car, I went straight to him wondering why he was outside but he surprised me with a k-ss as I came close to him.

Veronica ➡ Baby, why the k-ss?

Terry ➡ Sorry I’m just happy to see you, uhm… There’s a little something I have to tell you.. My parents and sister are in,side the house, they came for a visit. Sorry for the short notice.

Veronica ➡ No problem. So can I meet them?
.
Terry ➡ Of course.

We went in,side the house, there they were Terry’s parents, from the look of them, I could tell they were influential people, as they saw me, they measured me up and down with their eyes, especially Terry’s mom, I felt nervous but I quickly greeted them before they could say anything to me.

Veronica ➡ Good afternoon ma, and sir.
.
Terry ➡ Mom, dad, this is Veronica, my girlfriend. She’s the girl I’ve been telling you about.
.
Mrs. Serene ➡ Veronica, its nice to meet you,
.
Veronica ➡ me too, Mrs….
.
Mrs. Serene ➡ serene, call me Mrs serene.
.
Mr. Thomas ➡ What a fine young woman, you have there son.
.
Terry ➡ Thanks dad.
.
Mrs. Serene ➡ So Veronica, what do you do for a living?
.
Terry ➡ She’s a… business woman.
.
Mr. Thomas ➡ Business woman? That’s good, I like women that work for themselves instead of waiting for a man, to provide for them.

Mrs. Serene ➡ hmm, so where did you study?
.
Veronica ➡ I studied in Japan,i even did Mixed martial arts as a curriculum activity.

Mr. Thomas ➡ A business woman and a fighter? You really are full of surprises, Veronica.

Veronica ➡ Thanks.
.
Mrs. Serene ➡ So where do your parents stay?
.
Veronica ➡ Oh my parents are dead, my only living relative is my uncle.
.
As soon as I said that, the smiles that was on their faces disappeared! They began looking at me as if they were looking at a Stranger, Terry on the other hand wasn’t happy about his parents reaction, and I don’t blame them, who would give his son or daughter to someone who has no one to stand up for him?
As we all sat in silence, Terry’s sister came into the sitting room, She gasped as soon as she saw me, I recognized her too… She was the girl that I saved in that night club Cherry and I went to, to think she was Terry’s sister.

Mrs. Serene ➡ Glory what’s wrong? Do you know her?
.
Glory ➡ Yes mom, we’ve met before.
.
Glory told them about how I saved her from the guy who tried to rape her, Terry and his parents were surprised that I was the one who had saved Glory from being abused.
Luckily for me, that changed their view of me and they began to thank me.
We talked for a while, exchanging some jokes and doing other stuff as well, I was glad I was in this company, they were very nice and friendly, they had even forgot about what I told them about my parents, Terry most of all was happy his parents approved of me.
After a while, I decided to go back home, Terry offered to esc-rt me outside to my car.

Veronica ➡ Your parents are funny people.
.
Terry ➡ absolutely! You’ll get to love them more when you get used to them.

Veronica ➡ Terry, I have something to tell you.
.
Terry ➡ So do I…
.
Veronica ➡ Okay you go first.
.
Terry ➡ Veronica, ever since you broke into my house, I’ve been crazy about you, I know you’re a thief and all that but I don’t care.. I just want to be with you, I’ve been with so many women but none of them is as interesting and funny as you. I’ve been doing some thinking these past weeks we’ve been dating and I’ve arrived at my decision, I know its toon soon, but its worth the shot.

I was surprised when Terry knelt down on his knee and brought a lovely silver ring, and it sure looks expensive, I stood speechless, listening to the words he said to me, and then he dropped the final question.
“Will you marry me”?
I didn’t know what to do? I couldn’t say anything, nor even move, I looked into Terry’s eyes, he was really sincere about what he said and turning him down wasn’t an option, I loved him but do I want this?
I closed the ring box in his hands and dropped the test results right in front of him after that I turned around and entered my car and drove off.
I didn’t know why I did that, but as I looked through my car window, Terry was still on his knee, looking at me as I drove off, I didn’t want to rush into things because I really need to think this through.
As I reached home, I noticed the door was wide open, I wonder why Bobbie and Angie left it open, as I entered the room was scattered and messed up, everything was scattered all around, I ran to my room to see if it was messed up, as I bursted into the room, it was worst than the sitting room, my pillow was tore apart and my bed was flipped over, I tried calling Bobbies phone but there was no answer, I went down the parlor and saw a phone and a note which said;
“If you want to see your friends alive, call this number and come alone else…….. ”
Someone had kidnapped Bobbie and Angie, to get to me, but who wants to get me and why?
