Enita’s pov

Oh Lord, I commit my future wedding into your hands. Any enemies that will make me scatter my own wedding with my craziness, thunder should fire them for me.

I got home and met my mom cooking in the kitchen. I joined her and we ate our dinner.

“Enita, you’re sure about this? I mean the man is between life and death. Just 1% chance for him to live again.” A young doctor whose name was d-ckson said.

He was accepted into this hospital two months ago. He’s always following me almost everywhere in the hospital.

“Yes, you have to believe. Just have faith in God that he’s going to live. Or do you love seeing your patients dying?” I asked.

He shook his head. “No, it makes me feel that, am not worthy enough to be a doctor. Like, I don’t know my job.” He answered.

“Good. Then you have to try your best. This man must live. Keep saying that in mind”

“Okay sir, that’s why I do cherish and admire you. If I was created female, I would have crush on you. You’re so brave, confident and ….I don’t know what to call you again.” He said, cheerfully.

The patient has an car accident. That accident took so many lives. The car he was in got burnt and he was the only one who’s alive though, he has a little chance to live.

This man here is too young to die.

We started work on his burnt body. We even thought he’s dead but thank God, we check his pulse.

We came out of the ward, and I met Mimi on the way. I grinned and trail behind her, leaving d-ckson alone.

“Hey beauty” I beamed.

“Hi handsome” She replied, sed-ctively.

“So, how about we go on a date tonight? I got something for you” I winked.

“Like what?” She turned facing me.

“It’s a surprise baby” I whispered.

“Ohh! Am expecting that Enny boo boo.” She touched my chin and cat walked away.

She should stop calling me Enny boo boo again. 😥

One year has passed and we are still on our relationsh¡p. Though we fought sometimes, you know couples to do fight sometimes.

But we end up settling everything. Without anybody’s help.

I turned to another direction to go check a patient. Then, I met Doctor Nelson.

“Good morning doctor” I greeted.

He stopped and take a quick glance at me before smiling.

“Good morning, doctor Enita. How about your uncle?” He asked.

“And his pregnant wife too?” I added.

What happened to this one now? Am greeting you and you’re asking about my uncle and his wife.

Don’t go and marry. Me that will marry soon. You’re hear doing eyes like cat.

“They are doing good. Hmm, yes, Sir McDonalds asked me to call you whenever you’re through with what you’re doing.” I stated.

“He asked for me? What for?” He furrowed his eyebrows.

*You’re asking me, don’t go and ask goggle* I wanted to say that but I kept my mouth shut.

“Actually, I don’t know. He’s just asking of you”

“Okay, and also, congratulations on your promotion.” He stretched his hand for a handshake.

So it won’t be as if am wicked or snobbish, I shook his hand and he turned to leave.

I was just promoted to a high position as a Medical Director.

“Doctor Enita, he’s awake! The man!” d-ckson ran into my room and I stood up immediately, taking my stethoscope.

I followed him to the ward and saw the man trying to stand up.

What’s wrong with him? His body is bandaged and probably in pains but he’s here trying to stand up.

Where’s he running to?

“Sir, sir, you have to calm down okay? You shouldn’t stress yourself. Your body is still weak.” I told the man in a calm voice.

“Do you know where I kept the dollars in my car?” He asked.

Ehh? Dollar? Where?

“Hmm, nope. The car got burnt, everything in it is also gone.” d-ckson replied while I nodded.

“Omg! Thats the dollar I wanted to use for my campaign! Holy crap!” He gritted.

“Which type of campaign sir? Governor or president?” I questioned.

He rolled his eyes. “It just chairmansh¡p.” He replied.

I swear, I didn’t know when I started laughing.

“So you want to kill yourself because of chairmansh¡p or what do you call it? I thought you would say governor or president.

Just chairmansh¡p, all you do is sit down on a chair and keep looking” I chuckled.

Enita is so silly.

“You’re crazy, anyway thanks for saving my life and you too” He turned to d-ckson.

“You’re welcome. But please focus on how you’re gonna get out of here healthy and don’t start thinking of chairmansh¡p.”

He nodded and I changed the drip for him.

Work was over. I stepped out of the hospital and gave Mimi a k-ss before going into my car and drove to my house.

Oops! I didn’t tell you I have a house now. Awwn. I have my own house now. And a car added with the one am using before.

Am a big boy now. 😉

I drove home and got out of the car. I entered tge living room, dropped my bag and walk straight to the kitchen.

I cooked some rice and beef stew. Since I can’t cook all the raw food here, at least they are selling some Nigeria ingredients here.

And thats what filled my store. Nigeria ingredients. I love Nigeria food pass anything.

I ate to my satisfaction and called Mimi to remind her of our date.

At night🏙🏙

I wore a clean red and white suit and stuck something my pocket.

I wore my shoe and entered into my car. I drove out the compound to pick Mimi.

We got to a field holding hands. Should I tell what am about to do?

I cleared my throat and turned to her. Am not good in proposing so I just have to do it that way.

I didn’t really concentrate on that, I just need to do what am supposed to do. Don’t care.

Mimi gasped as she turned to me.

“Will you marry me Mimi? I know have cost you a lot. Even when my enemies make me behave silly, crazy and clumsy, you still stood strong in our relationsh¡p.

You never let me down. Have love you so much with my heart. It just like, I can’t live without you. Mimi, am saying this once again.

Will you marry me?” I asked again.

Hope she will say yes, cause the way she’s blinking her eyes is another thing.

After a long silence, she spoke.

“Yes Enita, yes, am going to marry you.” She squeaked and I slipped the ring into her finger.

I said and stood up to hug her tightly to myself.

“I love you too” She replied, disengaging the hug and cupped my cheek in her palm and k-ssed me.

I k-ssed her back. After some seconds, we broke the k-ss then I remembered my torn trouser.

F*ck! I need to go home now. With thinking twice, I held Mimi’s hand and turned to leave the garden quickly to the car.

I was just lucky, the trouser didn’t tear too much and it was just under me and not the buttock side.

“Why are you in a hurry?” Mimi asked as soon as we got into the car.

“Actually, my trouser got torn when I was about to knee down.” I said, truthfully.

Her eyes w¡dened and it followed with a frown.

“What the hell!” She gro-ned.

I shrugged.

“You seriously need deliverance Enita. Like serious one. I will just commit our wedding into the lord’s hands.” She answered while I sighed.

I don’t know but my mind is telling that, my wedding ehh….hmm.

Next day……..

I woke up, took my bath and wore my clothes. I got downstairs and ate the fastest breakfast I can do and rushed out of the house.

I got to my car and turned the ignition switch on but the car didn’t start.

With a loud hiss, I walk out of the compound in annoyance.

I walk down the street, turning my neck here and there to see if I can see any cab but all to no avail.

Am f*cking running late!

Mimi would have gone to the hospital now and I won’t like to disturb her.

I kept walking until I heard my name and that made me stop.

“Enita? Its you!” The voice said and I turned immediately.

“Eduvie! Wow! Long time.” I said, giving our self a light hug.

“Yeah, how are you doing? Or I even ask that? It all written on your face” She laughed.

“Thank God you’ve seen that yourself. I just need to rush to the hospital, my car is kind of faulty.” She nodded and I bid her goodbye.

I was running so fast to the hospital. No damn car passed here.

I got tired when I eventually got to the hospital. I was gasping for breath. I was really short of breath.

Who asked me to run?

“Are you okay doctor?” That voice is so familiar.

d-ckson’s voice.

“Am okay d-ckson. I had to run cause my car was faulty and am running late.” I answered.

“Okay, the man is really asking you? That man that was complaining about his money” He explained.

“Ohh! Okay. That silly of him. Come on let’s go”

We got to the ward and met the man again struggling to stand up.

Am not sure if this man is okay.

“Good morning sir, can you please seat back please ?” I told him.

“I want to go home, take me home. My wife and children are waiting.”

Ohh!

“Hmph! Is that all? Don’t worry, am gonna call them for you. Wait! Were they in the car with you?”

“No, I never allowed them.” He answered.

Brume’s pov

” Am going to miss you so much my son!” My mother whimpered softly.

Awwn!

Well, school is resuming on Monday, so I do get to school on Sunday.

“Don’t worry mom, I will come back okay? I ain’t running away. Bye bye and take care of your self and papa” I waved.

She nodded and I took my bag with me, going to the bus stop.

Am going to miss Rose too. So badly. She’s going back to school. And our only means of communication Is through the phone.

“You’re going now?” I turned seeing her behind me.

“Yes baby, am going to miss you” I said, making a puppy face.

“Same here too. Am going back to mine tomorrow.”

“Ohh okay, don’t allow all this small boys with their broom hand to take you away from you.” I answered.

“Of course not and you too, don’t leave for those chicken legs in your school too. You know I so much love you.” She chuckled.

“And I love you too.” I k-ssed her.

It was a goodbye k-ss. Those damn s€×y l-ips. Am gonna miss it.

She forcefully removed her l-ips and face me.

“Don’t eat me raw now, you need to get to the bus stop before it late.” She whispered.

“Okay then, till we meet again.”

Before I move an inch, I k-ssed her again and took my a bag while she helped me with the other one.

We got to the bus stop and I boarded a bus. We waved at each other till I couldn’t see her again.

Arrghh! Am gonna come back home thin again. University is so stressful.
