….I didn’t Know that what I did in the past will come back to haunt me,I didn’t Know that what I spent my youthful days for will come back hunting me in my mid’s life.i never pray for this occurence in my life…..
I thought what I was doing then is something that can pass off easily without coming back to me…
I was young then…
I was innocent…
I was naive….
Though I knew that what I did was bàd then
But does it warrant all what I am facing right now!.
Does it warrant the treatment am going through now…..
Does it warrant the wrath I am experiencing now…
How did I go wrong?those thoughts filled Abigail mind as she turned to the other side on the chair,she rubbed her face very well and sniffed back to avoid breaking down in tears which is threatening to fall in any minute.she was lost in thought not realizing that someone is knocking at the door,she was out of her thought after the fifth knock on the door.she sluggishly stand up and walked down to the door, unlocking the door and turned the knob.
“Good morning ma” she greeted as her husband younger sister came in
She scanned her with her eyes and hissed out loudly before going in,side the room,she flunged her bag on the table and stare into her eyes in fury
“What is good in your morning,tell me!!! Because I don’t understand what is good in your life ever since you get married to my elder brother” she shouted pointing right to her face.
“This is your seventh year in this marriage and there is nothing to show for it,is this how you want to keep living under my elder brother roof or you don’t know calculations again?you don’t know that you are breeding maggots in,side this house when you refused to give birth to any child,dont spoil my brother life nawwww!!!! You this woman! were you sent to des.t.r.oy my brother life? Did you prayed to come to this world without achieving anything!!!
“Am..s..o.rry ma,it’s God that is providing children,I know that very soon,he will answer my prayer”she replied looking sober
“Didn’t I know that it is the Lord that answer prayer or what kind of s.t.u.p.i.d orientation are you giving to me? ..oh …oh this place have contained you right! I know what to do to you,I and the family members are giving you two months to conceive,or else! Or else! You will be out of my brother life,you this barren woman” she said and sat down
Tears gathered round my eyes, threatening to spill at any moment,she sniffed.she was about to leave the sitting room when she called her back
“Come back here! She ordered
“Won’t you get me something to eat?if you can’t give birth to a kid,you will sha know how to entertain people” she shouted at her
“W…h…aa..t did you want to eat ma?” She sluttered
“Get me pounded yam with melon soup along with assorted meat and don’t take long,it’s been a while that have eaten pounded yam” she instructed while she run off to the kitchen to make her meals
She stretched her legs on the table and keep watching movies.Abigail shake her head as she serve her meal on the dining table.
To be candid,she is afraid and don’t know how to approach her now,after delibrating for fewp— minutes,she moved closer to her
“Ma,your food is ready ma” I
“Are you sure the food is well cooked?” She asked
“Yes ma” she replied while she left for her food,she sat down and open the food before her,she tasted the soup and shouted
“Abigail!!!!
“Maaaaa” she rushed to her side
“Did you want to k!LL me?what is the meaning of this nonse.nse in my front” she asked her
“Non.sen.se as how?I don’t understand ma”
“How would you understand when you refuse to give birth to a child and if you understand gan,it’s only fashion you understand,you can’t prepare a simple meal” she shouted at the woman
“Maaa,there is nothing wrong with the soup ”
“So what you mean was that am telling lies right,you must be a real f.o.o.l”
“Ma,I don’t know what I did wrong?” asked
“Come and taste this soup”
She move closer to taste the soup while she poured the soup on her body
She shouted and jumped up
“This one lack home lesson ooo,I told you that your soup is not good and she is ready to taste it..for real!
She looked down on my body and start weeping
It’s not her fault
What she did in the past lead her to all this
So it’s true that if twenty goes by,thirty comes back
She was brought out of my thought when she carried her bag and left, raining curses at me……..

….After her husband younger sister left,she changed her cloth sat down on the brown sofa to reminisce on her life.she didn’t go to work today due to her mental status.she has received several complaints from her boss about her being absentmindedly at work,.she was offered five days leave to take care of her mental state.her husband younger sister was right,this is her seventh year in marriage and she is no longer getting younger,all her peers and mates have gave birth to probably their third kids now,she is the only one left.her younger sister purity has also given birth to two kids,how is her own fate this way? She knows that she caused it all,but is this God wrath? She pondered about her life very well and wiped off the tears that spilled from her weary eyes after holding it for too long.she glanced at the wall clock in the sitting room and exclaimed
“Oh! Hubby will be back any minute” she shouted standing up and hurried off to the kitchen to prepare him rice and beans with fried pepper along with Titus fish.she is using three in one gas to cook and it will makes her meals faster that way.she has already made the preparations before the arrival of her husband younger sister then….
She turned off the gas after she had covered the pots very well and lied down on the chair.
After twenty minutes,her husband drove in,he is no one than “frank blossom”.he locked the doors of the car while his security man Carried his back briefcase in along with his boss.the man dropped the briefcase and left while Abigail went to hugged her husband.
“Welcome back dear,how is work today?” She asked the tired looking man in her front
“Stressful as usual! But! you don’t look good sweetheart” he replied sensing the pale look on her wife fair face.
“I will be fine! It’s just that,I am having hangover since morning and am trying to relax myself,don’t worry it will be gone” she lied
“Are you sure it’s only that?is there anything burdening your mind? You know you can always talk to me sweetheart,your husband will be right here for any walk with you in this life or why am I your husband if I can’t stay and stand with you.you deserve the best love.Talk to me!
“Am Alright darling! You worry alot! I am fine” she managed to say while frank shrugged his shoulder before going in to shower.Abigail went to serve his husband meal and returned back to the sitting room while the man went to the dinning to have his meals.
“Your cooking is still superb and good.i know that I married a chef” he said after sitting beside her wife.
“Hmm! Who told you that I am a chef! Well if you say so,am not ready to argue with you this evening” she replied smiling and blushing at the same time while he pulled her over for her head to lie on his laps.
“Your face,skin,beauty is what attracted me to you In the first place and it shows in your cooking skills,now…tell me! How did you come about this skills?”
“It’s my duty as a female and a woman to know how to cook for my husband and my mum was once a renowed caterer,just that she retired from working few years back due to her illness in which you too are aware of it”
“I knew about her illness but not about the fact that she was once a caterer,wow! Let’s say you copied all this from mummy”
“Yeah! She managed to reply while her mind drifted off to another thought.
Frank noticed this in her wife mood and plant a k-ss on her chin to bring her out from her mood.
“I said it! Something is wrong with you!
“It’s nothing sweetheart,don’t bother urself about it.i know how to sort myself”she replied
Smiling while frank cut in
“Did any of my family came here to embarràss you?” He asked all of a sudden which surprised her wife.
“No one came”
“Are you sure?”
“I am sure dear”
“Alright! Lets go in,side” he ordered
“For what!
“I have missed you baby and I need to see you”
“You are already seeing me or what is it you want to see again” she replied
“Hmm baby” he said lifting her up and carried her in a bridal style,he was about to climbed the staircase when someone knocked
“Who is that?” He asked dropping Abigail gently on the floor
“It’s me”
“We are coming ooo” frank said
“No! No!! No!!! I will attend to the person” Abigail cut in and quickly walking down the door while her chevon blue gown trail behind.she turned the knob and opened the door.she gasped after seeing what is in her presence.she rubbed her face very well and shake her head.Frank noticed all this from afar and move quickly to the door..
