A woman in her mid-twenties is on the doorstep with her heavy baby bump, she is heaving heavily while she wiped off the sweat on her big face.

“Good evening ma” she greeted while Abigail opened her mouth wide in shock. all her thought was that she is a new wife that her husband impregnated.

Frank walked faster to the door side and peep on the woman at the doorstep

“Ehn! Ehn!! How can we help you?” He asked while Abigail look sad

“Please ma! Sir’s, I am a stranger in this neighborhood and the person I went in search of is not around, I am stranded right away and I have nothing on me. I had to plead to the gatekeeper to let me in, please help me sir and ma” the pregnant woman pleaded while Abigail sighed with relief.

“Is that all?” She asked

“Yes ma” the woman replied

“Alright come in” Abigail ordered while the woman followed behind. frank slammed the door and left for the bedroom.

“Have your seat please, what can I offer you first? You look so sad and tired” Abigail asked while waiting patiently for her response

“Ah! Ma! I am a stranger…I…

“You are what! Abigail cut in

“I was surprised at how you are treating me now, you are such a good person o, may Almighty God reward you abundantly”

“Amen! If I didn’t help you, another person will help you. what did you want to eat?”

“Anything is okay by me ma,” the pregnant woman said while Abigail went in,side the kitchen to dish her some food. she went to eat while Abigail went to meet her husband upstairs

“Darling! Why did you come here? Don’t you like the woman?”

“I know that she needs help and you care enough to help her out. i don’t want to disturb you guys and I have some work to do on my laptop that is why I am here, if you need my attention, kindly call me” frankly replied while she left him alone.

Favor devoured the food and drank enough water before relaxing back in the sitting room, Abigail helped her in packing the plates while she thanked her.

“Thank you mao, you didn’t know me from anywhere and you help me that much, you are blessed. sister, I need your help”.

“What is that?”

“Please sister, my name is favor and I got pregnant out of wedlock, my boyfriend that impregnated me refused my baby and me, I came to search for him around this area and couldn’t find me and unfortunately, I had to more cash on me. please ma,” she said almost kneeling while Abigail pulls up back.

“Please ma, I have nowhere to go, I was sent out of my former house without picking any of my belongings and my parents disowned me, that was why I came in search of my boyfriend here maybe he will pity my life, but I am tired sister…I am sad. can you please help me? I have not bought any of my baby stuff and my due date is near, please help me with anything” she pleaded to cry seriously while Abigail was moved to pity.

“Don’t worry dear! I will try my best. I don’t mind if you will start living with us till you give birth to your child. I am also lonely here and at least your presence will brighten up everything but please let me talk to my husband about it, you know that he is the head of the house and I can’t do anything behind his back without his permission, give me few minutes” Abigail said and went in,side the room. she narrated everything to her husband while Frank refused.

“No! No!!No!!! No!!!! That is not possible baby, you don’t know her from anywhere, you don’t know if she cooked up stories for you, I don’t accept that, a stranger in my house. it’s not done, babe! Frank refused vehemently shaking his head in fury while Abigail went on her kneel

“Please my husband, I am so lonely in this house, even though, I don’t have my kid yet, I continue praying to God for him to help my life. I will be glad if you accept favor in this house, it will stop me from brooding, I want my own too child and I believe that her presence in this house will help me to conceive too” she pleaded and start sobbing while Frank had no choice than to heed to her words.

“It’s Alright, I have heard you” he replied while Abigail jumped at him.

Abigail returned to the sitting room to give favor the reply while she keep thanking her. They are both happy.

Favor is the happiest person on Earth after hearing from Abigail. she admired the house a lot and feels like she has gotten to her final bus stop. she concluded in her mind that the couples are extremely rich.

She was led to the guest room and Abigail promised to get her new stuff the next day. she smiled and thanked her.

In Abigail Dreamland
She dreamed that an old woman appeared to her dressed in tattered cloth and holding a dry stick.

“If you don’t confess what you did in the past, you will never conceive on this Earth and you will eventually lose your husband to another woman,” the woman said pointing to her while she trembled with fear.

She shouted “Noooooo” and jumped up from the bed while Frank quickly hold her

“What happened my love?” He asked in a whisper while she hugged him

“A bad nightmare”

“Again!

“Yes hubby, I dreamed that a masquerade is pursuing me and I fall” she lied

“Is that all?” He asked

“Yes”

“Sorry my love, let’s pray,” frank said while they both prayed.

Earlier the next day.Abigail is already up by 5, fixing what everyone will eat,she cleaned the house,arranged everything and take her bath.she decided to branch at favour room after she is done with everything and met her sleeping.

“Oh! Pregnant woman,they sleep alot,I don’t need to disturb her” she said and left her room.Frank is already up,dressing for work while she served his meal.

“What about the visitor we have in this house?” He asked

“She is still sleeping, you know that those pregnant woman sleeps alot,I don’t want to disturb her” she replied

“Alright,I will soon leave,extend my greetings to her” he said and quickly devoured the meal In front of him.After few minutes of eating,he cleaned his mouth and dashed out of the house after pecking his wife.

Favour came out of her room looking rough
“Good morning ma” she went on her kneel greeting Abigail

“Ah good morning sister,how was your night?”

“It was fine ma”

“Please,I want you to go back to ur room,have your bath and I have dropped few clothes that can size you in your room.we are going out after eating” she said while favour eyes welled up with tears,she went on her kneel and thanked her.

They both dressed for the outing,she was taken to the salon to make her chair and later to the mall for her baby materials along with new clothes for her.she thanked Abigail so much that she hugged her.They both went home together.

“Madam! I am so happy,my God will bless you”

“Amen”

“Please ma, something is bothering my mind since yesterday and I am sorry to ask this”

“What is that?” Abigail asked

“I noticed that since yesterday that I came into this house,I don’t see any of your kids,are they not living in this country?” She asked while Abigail stand up all of a sudden,she walked to the television side and comes back.she sighed,looked up and went to sit back.

“I didn’t have a child of my own yet” she replied

“Oh! That is painful,the Lord will bless your womb”

“Amen! I know the reason but I am afraid” she replied breaking down in tears while Favour move closer to her

“Don’t be afraid,you can talk to me” she said giving Abigail an assuring look.

“It’s a long story dear,it is my top secret,my husband didn’t know about it and it’s because you are a woman like me,that is why I want to tell you please keep it for me”

“Don’t worry ma am,you are in safe hands” she replied patting her in the back.she looked up and start talking

“My name is Abigail Anthony,I am the first daughter of my parents and I had two younger brothers as siblings.my parents are not that rich,they both struggled to take care of us.i later gained admission into the institution.my first time in school is like a novice,I didn’t know anything about the school,I was stranded and keep on looking everywhere.i later got fed up and walked up to a guy who is standing alone beside the tall tree in the school premises.he dressed in a navy blue polo along with blue jean and a sneaker to match .

Flashback
“Good morning brother,please…ehmm…actually”

“You don’t need to be nervous talk to me” the young guy cut in

“Ehmm…please I am new in this school and can’t find some places around,can you help me out please?”

“I think you are a fresher,you don’t need to be nervous around people like me or did I look scary? I am not and I can’t eat you especially beautiful ladies like you,so tell me! Where exactly are you going?” He asked while Abigail blushed

“I am going to the science department”

“Wow science department! You must be brilliant with the department you are looking for,please can I ask you a question?”

“Please go ahead”

“What did you want to study in your department?” He asked while Abigail is feeling uncomfortable with the questions the young guy keep throwing at her.she threw her glances away and stamped her foot on the ground.

“Angry right! The guy cut in

“I am not,I am running late and I need to get to the department today”

“But I only asked you a question, anyways,my name is Kingsley simeon and am a four hundred level student studying mass communication in this institution,can I know your name please?”

“Excuse me brother! I am not here for a chit chat,I only asked you a question,if you can tell me fine! If you can’t then let me go my ways”

“Alright! I will lead you to the place and we will discuss later,don’t be too hærd,you are a baby girl” he replied and led her to the department.she thanked him and went in,after doing the necessary registration,she walked out and found out that he is still waiting for her.

“I have not know your name dear” he called back gaining her attention

“I am Abigail! Call me Abigail” she responded while he demanded for her contact,they exchanged contact and left the place.

She packed her load to the room she just rented along with two other ladies,the ladies names are “binta and Ayomide.she got to find out that binta is an igbo lady while ayomide is a Yoruba lady,they are all friends and do things together.she is now friends with Kingsley and they both visit each other house.they respect and maintain their friendsh¡p.

Abigail received a call from Kingsley demanding to see her behind the school building which is Kingsley house.

“Its late Kingsley,why did you want to see me? You sound we!Rd…

“Please Abigail come quickly,I need your help,don’t let me dieeeee”

“Dieeeee! Okay I am coming” she quickly dressed in a simple gown, grabbing her purse and phone.she left immediately..

Arriving Kingsley house,everywhere is dark,she silently opened his door and met everywhere dark, hastily,she unlocked her phone and on the torch on her phone.she was about to click on the “torch” sign when a strong arm cover her face.she struggled but the man won’t let her off easily.

She drifted off to sleep after sniffing a nice scent.perhaps,the man is the one behind it…
