Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi are two of the most successful footballers in modern era but it was a huge shock when the Portuguese revealed that he would like to have dinner with the Argentina in future.
Both five-time Ballon d’Or winners were nominated for the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award which was eventually won by Dutch and Liverpool defender v-rgil van Dijk. The Portuguese claimed that he has a good relationsh¡p with Messi but they’ve never had dinner together.
Speaking at the event, Ronaldo said: “I was curious because we shared this stage for 15 years me and him. I don’t know if that has ever happened in football, the same two guys on the stage at the same time, so it’s not easy.
“Of course we have a good relationsh¡p, we have not had dinner together yet but I hope in the future.
“Of course I miss playing in Spain, we had that battle the last 15 years, which was good. He pushed me and I pushed him as well, so it’s good to be part of history of football. I am there and of course he is there as well
Ronaldo’s Juventus were drawn in Group D of the UEFA Champions League alongside Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lokomotiv Moscow while Messi’s Barcelona are in Group F with Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Slavia Prague.
