πŸ–€ Chapter Sixteen πŸ–€

You know, I never had anything against cats, but now Arc was officially going to make me hate cats. You know the cat and dog fued, I was going to be dragged into it. Nightmare never came back after then, but I didn’t let my guard down, I was still planning on what to do and how to do it. Esme kept lingering around me, glaring at me, I killed her pet.

Thirty minutes to go, I jumped down from the potion table, it’s time to find Nightmare and get him to follow me.

“And where are you going?” Esme asked snarlingly.

“Madam, do I ever ask where you are off to?” I snorted.

“Don’t play smart with me, tell me where you are off to.”

“I’m off to see what Nightmare is up to, I’m bored. Does he have any toy? Where is his room?”

“Just say you are in heat,” she said with a smirk. I narrowed my eyes at her before rolling it, “walk straight until you come to a two direction hallway, head to the one on the left. Keep walking and you’ll see a black door with the skin of a white wolf glued tp it. That’s his room.”

“Thank you and do not disturb.” I warned. She rolled her eyes back to what she was doing. I ran off, of course I acted like my leg had healed. I followed her direction and in a matter of minutes, I was standing in front of the door.

Here goes nothing.

I walked in,side through the small cat door. The room was unlike any cat room I had ever seen, it looked like a bad boy room. I looked around the room, sniffing the air for Nightmare. “Nightmare?” I called.

I looked towards the purr, if I was a real cat, I would have jumped on Nightmare and mate with him. My cat hormone was pushing me to do that, I gro-ned and shook my head. He was on his bed playing with a small mouse. He looked at me for a while before he continued playing.

Yeah, this isn’t going to work out.

I turned and headed back to the door, but I was suddenly knocked down. I almost yipped from the wind being knocked out of me. Nightmare pinned me down and roared, his true form roar. I felt like bowing to him, succ-mbing to his will and holding still.

What the hell is this!

I struggled to get him off but he hissed at me, forcing my courage to cower back. My heart was beating very fast, fear of what to do. My body moves on it on and laid still for him to mount.

“Ida, are you alright?” Arc’s voiced echoed in my head.

God I love this man!

His voice broke me out of the spell, I sprinted from Nightmare and ran. I sniffed the air to know where I was going to, picking out my mate’s scent. I heard Nightmare roar behind me, taking it as an opportunity, I ran to the exit. Remind me never to turn myself to an animal, it would not happen again.

I ran fast into the dead forest, following Arc’s scent. He was pestering me to answer him but I knew that would only distract him. I looked behind me when I heard heavy paws hitting the ground. Nightmare had shift, he was a f-cking seven feet tall black saber-toothed tiger! His canines were red, like poison! I wanted to throw up my heart, but I had to keep running. He would catch up to me soon, too soon. I exhaled and imagined growing bigger, channelling enough power into the spell. My fur tingled, I leapt into the air and grew six feet taller. My paw hit the ground, I looked at myself and saw I took the form of a white tiger.

My new transformation excited him more, to me I was freaking out. I ran as fast as I could but he was catching up.

“Arc! I can’t outrun him!” I scre-med telepathically. “He’s going to mount me!” I was panicking. Be it that I was in cat form or not, I am still human and an animal can’t bang me! At least Arc had human side to him.

“I’m on my way…”

“No, you’ll ruin everything, I am not there yet!”

“I’m going to kill that cat!”

Okay, maybe I shouldn’t have called for him. I needed to get to him before he got to me and ruin everything.

Speed!

Of course, I could tap into his powers.

“Stay there, I’m using your speed to get myself to you, Arc please just hold on.” Hoping he would listen, I drew power from him and increased my speed. I saw myself whooshing past trees and stones. Arc’s scent got closer, he was coming.

Arc knocked me down, thinking I was an enemy. My back slammed on the ground, it made me dizzy. He roared into my face, I whimpered and squirmed under him. He wasn’t even in his beast form and yet he was this strong. His eyes softened after he caught my scent, he smiled and scratched behind my ear.

“My love, sorry about that.” Nightmare was coming.

“Act like you are going to kill me.”

“But I don’t want to kill you, you are my mate.” He argued.

“Nightmare doesn’t know that, hurry!” I shouted. Arc lifted his hand, stretching out his claws. I cried out like I was helpless. Nightmare ran in and hurled himself at Arc. Arc jumped away from me before he got touched.

Nightmare landed in front me me and growled, shielding me from Arc. Poor thing, I hate to kill him but he is evil after all. Arc leapt at him, shifting in the air. A white light engulfed him before he landed on Nightmare, I rolled out of the way. I stared at Arc’s beast in shock. I wasn’t expecting him to be white and certainly not as magnificent as this. The lower part of his legs was made out of gems, a long scarf like fur around his neck, like the tail of a white fox was worn on him. He was a feet or two taller than Nightmare, with much more stronger muscles popping off.

I wanted to pet him, I needed to pet my beautiful mate. I bet with a lot of energy, I would be able to take his form and play with him. I was still staring at them in awe as they fought when Arc whimpered. The earth rose up in dust and the dust took the form of me. One after the other, a lot of me surrounded Arc. It was then I remembered what I was suppose to do.

Arc couldn’t move, not even when they attacked him, cutting him like meat. I needed to help him. I looked at Nightmare who was focused on what he was doing, then back at the me. I hurried behind a tree and shifted back to my form who surprisingly still had her dress on. My energy was almost drained, I still needed to help.

“Arc, close your eyes and attack, remember that I am here with you.”

Arc’s painful howl made my heart bleed, he was being killed and he still wouldn’t move because it’s me. I placed my hands on the tree as tears streamed down my face.

“Nature, please help him, help the king of the earth clan fight through his weakness, please!” The dry leaves of the tree ruffled in the wind. A sudden burst from something in the ground tore through Arc’s howls. I looked at what was happening, tall thick vines and roots had grew up around him, shielding him from the attackers.

“Arc!”

“I’m healing, don’t worry about me, do what you must do. I’ll try to distract him again.”

What was I even going to do?!

First, I run. I ran, using the trees as covering so I would get behind Nightmare. Arc broke through the tree protection and charged at Nightmare. The dark me stopped him by forming a barrier, a powerful barrier that knocked him over like I did to Nightmare earlier.

I brought the seals out from my pocket, good thing I never went anywhere without it. The wh0le forest went silent immediately the seals were in my hands, then the whispers came down on me with a great force. Voices after voices, shouts and cries, echos of voices, thunderous commands. I heard screeches, roars, laughter, singing, everything! My eardrums throbbed from the pain of listening to it all, the powers it carried and the strength I was using to block the darkness out.

Come to me Idalia, I can make you invincible…

“Stop it,” I snapped, “I will never come to you.”

Then I heard a voice, Victoria’s voice amongst them, telling me what to chant. I followed her voice, saying it the exact way I hope she was saying it.

“Invocabo partes terrae lumina caligo summa separat. Ignis comedit, et aquam purificare ventum repulit. Et ostende luminaria di elementa miscere gladii, et fortitudinem tuam et sigillum Dei ceciderit super terram!”

I opened my eyes, the seals flew out of my hands and dashed to Arc, levitating above his head. The sudden appearance made everyone freeze and stare at it spinning rapidly above him. The seals grew bigger as they spinned, larger than it small coin form. Three lights zapped down, twisting their colours together before striking the seal in Arc’s chest. The blast shook the earth, creating a wave that sent not only me but every other creatures and trees flying.

Silence took over, right before Arc’s beast growled lowly. I was too weak to open my eyes, I couldn’t see what was happening but I heard Nightmare whimper and sped off. I heard a sound like a pinned down cat, forcing me to open my eyes. Arc’s beast had change, his gem legs flared with fire, his foxy neck was of water covering. The wind spun around him like a circular barrier and blade, ready to destroy all who came close. All the powers of the seal was in him, making him the perfect one to end everything.

“I don’t understand,” I said lowly, “I thought I was the only one who could kill them.”

“The only thing that can kill Nightmare is the light of the seals and the only one who can control the seals and summon it powers is you. That is why you are the only one who can. In ancient times, the three seals would combine with the earth to fight evils, their body couldn’t stand the power of all seals, only the personification of earth could. Earth is solid, it can tolerate anything thrown it way and that is why it was chosen.

The keeper of the seals is you, the three seals that is. The personification of the wind, water and fire are too far to be talked to, too hidden to find. The original fire phoenix lives somewhere else, and his anger makes it impossible to reason with him. The maidens of winds are of clouds and cannot withstand the powers and water is nothing but liquid form. Your job was to summon the powers and awaken the beast like in old days.” Victoria explained, her voice in my head.

I looked away from Arc as he tore Nightmare to shred, ripping off his skin and flesh. The sight would hunt me for days. I looked up at the sky, the black moon was upon us, very close to coming. Cressida would be dying as much as Nightmare was.

Esme.

I stood up from the ground, gathered my energy once more and took off, heading back to Cressida’s home. I wasn’t expecting to see Esme waiting for me at the doorstep, a devious look in her eyes as she held up a bleeding heart.

“You know, I should k-ss you for your help, if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have been able to get Cressida’s heart so easily.” She said with a grin.

“You knew the cat was me.” I gasped.

“I saw an opportunity, if Cressida had her eyes, she would have seen through the disguise, but she was seeing through her cat’s eyes and the cat was interested in you. It was good, really good. Do you think I worked for her all this time? No, I was hoping to get her heart to complete my spell…”

“Esme, why don’t you let the past go? Forgive and move on…”

“Move on!” She shrieked angrily, “I was forcefully impregnated, killed by the people I saved and the one person I hoped would remain with me never liked me, after he did it to me! Yes Quinn always returned as a powerful human, but I made it so! I wanted us to be together, to have our baby again, but none of his stupid reincarnation was like the first! All wanted to be free and love someone else, someone with real flesh and bones!

Do you know how it feels to have your dreams and ambition taken away from you?! I had dreams! I should have been one of the best designers in history but I wasn’t! My mother died of an heart attack after my death, she was thrown into the forest after she died, no proper burial given. Your family is messed up Idalia, from your grandmother to your mother, they both ruined my life!”

“And do you think mine is any better?!” I scre-med back. “I lost my friends! I will have to fake my death and abandon my future and career! Everything we worked for would be thrown away just like that! What do I see in my future? Being the queen of dogs, how is that a good future?!”

“You know, you can join me,” she smirked, “together, we can make the world bow to us. Cressida only wanted the fall of Willow Spring, but I want the wh0le world to live in misery, to become the version of darkness I live in. Cressida was never the true darkness Idalia, I was, and I am offering you a hand of friendshΒ‘p.” She stretched her other hand to me.

“Esme, we can work things out another way.”

“Thought as much,” she scoffed, “I will be back for you Idalia, you will pay for the sins of your mothers. Willow Spring would be destroyed, the first amongst all. Oh, and tell that pretty friend of yours to watch her back, she’ll never know when someone would strike.” Her eyes flashed black.

“Esme…”

“See you soon Idalia, and be ready for me when I return!” She zipped into the sky, disappearing with the night.

The true darkness, I knew then what the whispers were trying to warn me about. They were trying to tell me all these time that Esme was the real devil, not Cressida. It was too late, she was gone and would be back to finish what Cressida started, only that this time, the wh0le world would pay for it. It was a new challenge stronger than any Victoria had faced, I indeed had to be ready.

I knew then that if I wanted to defeat her, I would learn to hear every words the whispers have for me.

“Alright Esme, when you return, I’ll be waiting for you.”

To be continued.

There you have it, the true darkness is here and that is Esme. Tori was so busy trying to stop Cressida that she didn’t think for once that maybe there was someone else.

So yeah, the story isn’t over yet.
