Chapter 126 :- Worthy Challenger

Back when I was studying World wars during my campus days, I couldn’t help but wonder what the Japanese went through after getting nuked by the Americans. I always imagine what it would feel like go through such a painful ordeal and now I do.
Lucas’s explosion might not have killed me but it damaged my body. Some of my limbs were missing and had it not being for my regenerative abilities, I would have died for sure. Due to the severity of my injury, it took a while before I was completely healed and back to normal. As soon as my healing process was over, I decided to relax a bit cause my energy was spent thanks to the process I went through to put it back in one piece. As I lay on the ground trying to rejuvenate myself, I felt a powerful clash of magical energies not far from where I was and out of curiosity, I decided to check what was going on.
To my surprise, I saw the Supreme witch and Evlyn fighting it out, the kind of magic they were using was no ordinary one. Even though Orisaye was on the ropes, she fought her way through the best way she can. Another thing I noticed was Rotimi having his hands full with large hell hounds. This relentless monstrous dogs were giving him a tough time and from the looks of it, he needed some help. As much as I wanted to help out Rotimi, my body was still weak to engage in any fight and putting myself out there would be a very stupid move.
Fortunately for the poor guy, his fight with the hell hounds shifted to my direction and from this close distance, I decided to put my magic gloves to good use. Conjuring a hunting rifle seemed basic but when magic is involved, it’s firepower is off the charts. With the hunting rifle in my grasp, I took a careful aim and pulled the trigger. Two of the hell hounds were killed instantly but death didn’t go unnoticed, one of hell hounds who sensed I was the one responsible for the death of the other 2 turned his attention to my direction and charged straight at me. In that moment as I was about to blow the monster’s brains out, it began to run in a zig-zag pattern trying to make me miss. I was surprised to see that such an abomination was intelligent to this extent but I couldn’t let it outsmart me. Just as the creature was about to close in on me, I gathered the little strength I had and teleported myself underneath it’s huge frame blasting it from under. The hell hound died on the spot collapsing right on top of me, had it not being for Rotimi who lifted the damn thing away from me, I would have suffocated to die.

Dark Rotimi ➡ Are you alright sir?

Riley ➡ I’m fine.
.

Dark Rotimi ➡ Thanks for the assist.
.

Riley ➡ Don’t mention it. Where’s my daughter?
.

Dark Rotimi ➡ Still with Evlyn.
.

Riley ➡ (grunts painfully) God, I need to get.. moving.
.

Dark Rotimi ➡ You’re hurt sir..

Riley ➡ That won’t stop me either. Let’s find a way to..

Before I could finish what I was saying another powerful explosion went off blowing away Rotimi and I to different angles. After the explosion, I found myself in a different location but i wasn’t far from the council hall. Rotimi was no where to be seen so I decided to teleport myself to the council grounds and find Ebinoluwa. Upon my arrival to the place, I was shocked and devastated by what my eyes saw. Just a few distance away from me stood Evlyn draining the life force of the Supreme witch and at the same time stealing her magic. In that moment, I teleported myself back to where I was previously trying to process the reality of what I witnessed.
Orisaye had fallen and with her gone, the pinnacle of leadership in the Witches Realm will collapse and so will order and stability. Even though I wasn’t that close to the Supreme witch, I felt sad about her tragic end but still, that doesn’t mean that all is lost, not yet. In that moment as I was about to teleport myself to the council grounds, my sons and Hadiza showed up.

Riley. ➡ Junior, Akin, Hadiza. What are you all doing here?
.

Riley Jr ➡ We’re here to assist you guys.
.

Akinbilege ➡ Are you okay father? You look miserable.
.

Riley ➡ There’s no time for me to explain everything. I’m going to save your sister and once she’s here. Grab her and go to Christen’s place. Leave the Witches realm.
.

Hadiza ➡ But we can help.
.

Riley. ➡ No you can’t. If we all fight here, we’ll all fall. Just do as I say and live.
.

Akinbilege ➡ What are you going to do?
.

Riley ➡ Buy you some time to escape.
.

Akinbilege ➡ No we can’t..
.

Riley ➡ Don’t argue with me young man. We’re at war and right now, we’re running out of time. Just do as I say. I’ll be alright.

*EBINOLUWA*

Never in my life did I thought I’d find myself useless and weak until now. Witnessing the end of the Supreme witch and the corruption of Rotimi crippled any hopes I had for victory. Evlyn had won and once again the odds were me but that doesn’t mean it’s over, not yet. Giving up wasn’t an option cause what would be the point of being an infinite witch if I can’t find a way to stop this. Show resistance may seem hopeless for me but there’s no turning back now.
After Rotimi had finished transforming, he roared furiously into the air and then flew into the sky. Not only was he horrifying beyond imagination but he was so big that his shadow eclipsed the Witch’s Realm. To make things even worse, Rotimi went berserk and began to go on a rampage. He destroyed houses, ritual grounds and temples, reducing them all to rubble. Evlyn who noticed that he might soon turn his attention to witches and wizards soon made him disappear by opening a portal for him to the human world.

Ebinoluwa ➡ WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Evlyn ➡ Your lover is out of control so I gave him something else to focus his rage on. I cannot wait to see the destruction he will do upon those worms.
.

Filled with rage and hatred, I gathered all my strength and teleported towards Evlyn and tried to fight her but then she easily subdued me by grabbing hold of my neck and strangling me in mid-air.
.

Evlyn ➡ Fighting me is futile. You won’t win.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ (coughs) Why…don’t you..remove my chains and…we’ll find…out.
.

Evlyn ➡ (laughs) I like your spirit but once I’m done with you, you’ll have no choice but to join me.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I’ll…never..join you….I’d rather die.
.

Evlyn ➡ (sighs) What a waste of limitless potential. You could have been so much more but if that’s how you feel, then so be it.
.

One of the things I think about most in my life is the end. Quite often, I’ve always thought about how or when I will die and honestly this wasn’t how I pictured it. Realizing that Evlyn was about to take my life, I braced myself for death but then miraculously something unexpected happened.
Suddenly out of nowhere, something teleported me out of Evlyn’s grasp and within a blink of an eye, I found myself in the company of my brothers and Hadiza.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Guys..

Riley Jr ➡ Omo, see as you weak. Wotowoto don finish you.

Hadiza ➡ (smacks junior) Stop it.

Akinbilege ➡ Are you okay?

Ebinoluwa ➡ WHAT!? NO… She’ll kill him, he doesn’t stand a chance.

Riley Jr ➡ Have you forgotten that magic doesn’t work on him?

Ebinoluwa ➡ No.. I can’t let him.. (moans painfully)

Hadiza ➡ You need to rest.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Junior, use your Anti magic on me.

Riley Jr ➡ Why?

Ebinoluwa ➡ JUST DO IT.

Riley Jr ➡ Okay o.

Having the anti magic spell casted upon me didn’t just make every ounce of magic disappear from my body but it also made the magic seals on the chains around my wrists and ankles disappear. As soon as the magic seals where gone, the chains quickly rusted and crumbled to pieces. With the chains gone, not only was my magic back but I was able to use it to heal myself. All that weakness I felt was gone, all I felt now was magic flowing through me like an adrenaline.

Ebinoluwa ➡ (sighs) At long last. That bitch is mine.

Akinbilege ➡ Hold on, where are you going?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I have to stop Evlyn. Dad needs our help.
.

Akinbilege ➡ I know how you feel but he told us not to do anything.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ You can’t be serious. So you’re just going to let him die?
.

Hadiza ➡ He said that he’s going to handle this.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ This is crazy. Stay here if you want but I’m going.

Riley Jr ➡ Not if I can help it.

In that moment, Junior casted another anti magic spell on me rendering me powerless once more. I felt angry by what he did that I wanted to teach him a lesson but just as I was about to do that, Aunt Rose’s minions appeared out of the shadows and restrained me. Within a matter of seconds, my aunt appeared out of the shadows as well looking somewhat injured. She was bleeding from her forehead and the look on her face wasn’t pleasant at all.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Aunt Rose, what’s the meaning of this?
.

Instead of a reply, all I got was a devastating slap across the face. Everyone in that moment was shocked by what happened, I felt the sting of the slap so much that I wanted to lash out at Aunt Rose but before I could do that, she fired another slap across my face. Just as I was about to receive another slap, Akinbilege interfered grabbing hold of Aunt Rose’s arm but the poor guy didn’t get away with it. Immediately after grabbing our Aunt’s arm, Akinbilege was brutally pinned down by a big shadow monster which mysteriously appeared out of nowhere. Neither Hadiza or junior made a move in that moment cause they knew that doing so would be unwise. After a brief moment of silence, Aunt Rose started to lash out at us.

Rose ➡ Nothing would please me more than to kill you all right here and now but that won’t be necessary. You’re all here arguing like children when there’s a war going on. Now is not the time to think, it’s time to act. (moans painfully).
Ebinouluwa, do me a favor and leave with your brothers. This fight is lost.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ You can’t be serious. We can’t give up now.
.

Rose ➡ Face it niece, you’re worthless. You’re not ready to face Evlyn. The Supreme witch has fallen, you have to survive to finish this.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I’m not living here without dad.
.

Rose ➡ You don’t get it, do you? We’re not going to win, at least not today. We all can’t escape here. Evlyn wants you and she’s not going to rest until you’re either dead or hers. Your father and I will buy you some time to escape.

Akinbilege ➡ You can’t be serious Aunty.. You’re pregnant. We can’t just…
.

Rose ➡ It wasn’t a request boy. Leave now and find a way to defeat Evlyn.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ (shedding tears) I can’t believe you Aunty. You’re really going to throw away your life along with our unborn child just for us to escape? What about Uncle Lionel and your girls huh? How would they feel?
.

Rose ➡ This is war, Ebinoluwa. So sacrifices must be made. When you see my husband and my girls, tell them that I love them will you?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ NO! You’re tell them yourself. I’m not going to leave you or my dad.
.

Rose ➡ (sighs) Then you leave me no choice.
.

In that moment, Aunt Rose used her magic to open a black portal which sucked us in and teleported us back home to Ibadan. Immediately my brothers and I plus Hadiza appeared into our parent’s living room, Uncle Lionel and Morenike were startled to see us.

Morenike ➡ Ebinoluwa!

Ebinoluwa ➡ Morenike!
.

Lionel ➡ Junior, Akin, Ebinoluwa, What are you all doing here? Where’s Riley? Where’s my wife?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ The Supreme witch is dead. Evlyn killed her.
.

Morenike ➡ Jesus Christ!?!
.

Lionel ➡ Ebinoluwa.. Where’s your father and your Aunt?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ They’re still in the Witches Realm. We have to go back.
.

Akinbilege ➡ I don’t know if it’s a good idea.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I don’t care. I’m not going to let my father and Aunt face that monster. We have to go back.
.

Hadiza ➡ I agree.
.

Akinbilege ➡ Alright but we have to come up with a plan. We can’t just show up there without one.
.

Riley Jr ➡ I have an idea.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Oh please, be quiet jare.
.

Riley Jr ➡ Hey, at least I’m not the useless one here.

Ebinoluwa ➡ What did you say?

Akinbilege ➡ Enough already. We’re running out of time. Let’s just hear what Junior has to say.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Alright then, what’s this brilliant plan of yours junior?

After switching places with his daughter, Riley effortlessly breaks himself free from Evlyn’s grasp after slashing off her arm with a lightening machete which he had conjured up in that moment. Feeling shocked by the instant transition that had taken place right in front of her, the ancient witch glares at Riley for some moments before regenerating her amputated hand.

Evlyn ➡ So you’re the infamous Riley I’ve heard so much about? (chuckles) Interesting. Your little girl has succeeded where I have failed.
.

Riley ➡ I don’t care. You hurt my daughter and you’re going to pay.
.

Evlyn ➡ (chuckles) Oh really? What are you going to do about it?
.

Riley ➡ I can’t kill you but I’m going to humiliate and make you suffer. You won’t live this place in one piece.
.

Evlyn ➡ (laughs viciously) Don’t get so cocky human. You have no idea who you’re dealing with.
.

Riley ➡ Oh I do. I just don’t give a fuck. You expect me to fear you? Well, I don’t.
.

Evlyn ➡ (growling) You will. When I’m done with you, I’m going to destroy everything and everyone you care about.
.

Riley ➡ Are you done talking? Let’s get this over with.
.

Evlyn ➡ At last, something we can both agree on. Prepare to die Riley, this time it will be permanent.
.

Riley ➡ We shall see.
