Chapter 127 :- Evlyn vs Riley

Standing toe to toe with the all powerful Evlyn on the ruined grounds of the council hall, Riley prepares himself as he cautiously waits for her to make a move. Realizing how anxious and cautious her human opponent was, Evlyn smiles viciously and then casts a spell on the ground.
Riley who was watching everything gasped as he saw the stones and pebbles around him merging into one spot and before long, the stones and pebbles were transformed into a huge golem. As soon as the golem was created, It didn’t waste any time to launch it’s attack on Riley. Unfortunately for the golem, it’s huge size lessen the quickness of it’s mobility as it smacked its huge hands around trying to crush the human before him. Realizing that the golem wasn’t that fast for him to get to him, Riley began to run around but little did he realize that the golem had other tricks.
In that moment as Riley was keeping his distance, the golem suddenly stops and then unexpected fires a green bean from it’s eyes. Fortunately for former, he was able to dodge in the nick of time and as he saw the effect of beam, he gasped with shock. Here before his very eyes, Riley watched as a tree close to him turned into stone. Fearing that this could be him any moments from now, Riley decided to counter attack.
In that moment as the golem was about to release another beam from it’s eyes, Riley turns his gaze at Evlyn who was full of evil smiles and as soon as the golem released the green light from it’s eye, he switched places with the witch before him. Immediately the transition took place, Evlyn was struck with the beam and she instantly became a stone. Riley who was now in her spot laughed viciously as he saw what had happened to the witch in front of him. She had a taste of her own medicine and now she would suffer the consequences of her own making.
After Evlyn became a stone, the golem continued it’s attack on Riley but that didn’t bother. He knew that without the witch to reactivate her spell again, destroying the stone monster in front of him would be easy. Using the power of his gloves, Riley conjures a cannon which he aims at the golem and as soon as the creature was locked on target, the cannon went off with a powerful boom. One shot of the cannon scattered the golem into a thousands pieces, reducing it back to the stones and pebbles it was moments ago. As soon as the golem was destroyed, Riley aimed the cannon at the statue of Evlyn trying to pieces her too and just as he was about to fire the cannon, he senses a powerful sinister presence behind him.
Turning around swiftly in that moment, Riley gasps as he sees Evlyn standing very close to him. He couldn’t believe his eyes despite who he was seeing and as he tried to process what was going on, Evlyn slaps him so hard that he was sent flying across the ruins of the council hall. After crashing into the ground, Riley tries to get back on his feet, Evlyn instantly appears right next to him and then bends down grabs his throat after which she begins to drain his life force.

Evlyn ➡ Cunning bastard! Seems like your time with us witches has made you develop our habits. I wasn’t expecting that at all. Where did you learn that kind of teleportation?
.

Riley ➡ (grunts) Go…to….hell.
.

Evlyn ➡ (chuckles) Not until I’ve drained every ounce of your life force. Don’t worry, your daughter will join you soon.
.

Riley ➡ (chuckles)
.

Evlyn ➡ Something funny?
.

Riley ➡ You…made…one….small…error.
.

Evlyn ➡ Oh, and what’s that?
.

Suddenly in that moment, Riley swiftly punches Evlyn in the face with all his might and as soon as he does that, she quickly distances herself away from him yelling in pain. Feeling stunned and infuriated by the pain inflicted upon her, Evlyn glares at the human before her viciously and gasps as she sees Cross beads wrapped around his fists.

Evlyn ➡ Bastard!! Where did you get those?
.

Riley ➡ Enough talk witch. Time for me to beat the power of the holy spirit into you.
.

Evlyn ➡ (growls) You lowly being. I’m going to enjoy killing you.
.

Fueled with bloodlust, Evlyn immediately launches her attack on Riley by transforming her into a giant spider. With one swift leap, Evlyn throws herself at the puny human before her trying to eat him. Despite the unexpected surprise, Riley dodges Evlyn’s spider form by teleporting out of the way and just as he was about to retaliate, another unexpected event followed.
Realizing that Riley was trying to create a space between himself and her, Evlyn quickly transforms into another being and this time it was diablo. Using the power she had received from the lord of darkness himself, Evlyn turns herself into a version of himself only that her features were different from his. With horns popping by the sides of her head and large read wings emerging from her back, Evlyn growls viciously and then instantly creates a black dome all over the Witches Realm and as soon as that was done, she turns her gaze towards Riley. Realizing that something was different about the witch in front of him, Riley braces himself and prepares for any attack or spell that might be thrown at him. Seeing that the courageous human before her was yet to show any sign of fear, Evlyn chuckles viciously and then suddenly a powerful blast of flame from her eyes. Upon seeing the flames coming at him, Riley tries to teleport but to his surprise he couldn’t and before he could move out of harm’s way, Evlyn’s optic blast struck him. Despite using his arms to block in the nick of time, Riley was badly injured and what surprised him was that he was hurt. All this time, he believed he was invulnerable but it seems that wasn’t the case or so he thought. Evlyn who saw the expression on her opponent’s face laughed as she realized why he was in disbelief.

Evlyn ➡ (laughs) You thought you were invincible, right?
.

Riley ➡ It doesn’t matter. As long as I can heal, you’re finished.
.

Evlyn ➡ (laughs) Prove it dog.
.

Having zero fear about the disadvantages he’s in, Riley instantly moves his move on Evlyn by charging straight at her but before he could get close, a blast of flame intercepted his path. Using his magical gloves in the nick of time, Riley summons a shield protecting himself from the incoming flames. Seeing that human had protected himself from her optic blast, Evlyn adds more power to her attack pushing Riley back steadily but the latter who was also determined and strong willed began to pray silently putting all his strength behind the shield he held.
After toughing it out for minutes, something strange began to happen. Riley’s shield which was made with magic began to fade steadily. Not only was Evlyn’s optic flames very powerful but the attack itself was something beyond the boundaries of magic. Realizing that the shield won’t last long against Evlyn’s optic blasts, Riley uses his other glove to summon a gun which he holds tightly waiting for the right moment to strike.

Evlyn ➡ (laughs) It’s no use Riley. Any moment now your shield will collapse and you will be reduced to dust.
.

Riley ➡ (grunts) God…is….with….me.
.

Evlyn. ➡ (laughs) GOD!? Where is your God!? He won’t be here to save you, dog.
.

Riley ➡ (grunts) God…is always….with us and by his grace, I will make his….wrath.
.

Evlyn ➡ (chuckles) Such a worthless human. Having faith for a God that doesn’t exist.
.

Riley ➡ (yells angrily) ENOUGH!!!
.

Angered by Evlyn’s statement, Riley pushes the shield in his right hand with all his might against the flames and charges straight with fury. Surprised that the human before her was pushing against her optic blast charging towards her, Evlyn uses her hands and fires another blast of flame hoping to destroy him but to her surprise, something unexpected happened.
In that sudden moment as the witch before him unleashed another blast of flames, Riley instantly jumps into the air, aims his gun accurately at her and then pulls the trigger. As soon as the trigger was pulled, a thunderous boom escapes the barrel of the gun after which a powerful shot fueled with magic charged straight at Evlyn. The shot didn’t just hit the witch but it also decimated her completely leaving nearly half dead. Evlyn who was now flat on her back couldn’t believe her eyes. For the first time since her resurrection, she felt something that she never thought she would feel and that was fear. Not that she was afraid to die but she was afraid of becoming weak. As Evlyn laid on the ground trying to recover, Riley appears and stands over her injured body staring down at her with a vicious glare but what catches her attention was the Cross which he held in his hand.

Riley ➡ You see Evlyn? You’re not all powerful. Only God is and because you dared to defy his existence, he showed you your place.
.

Evlyn ➡ This can’t be the end of me.
.

Riley ➡ I’ll be the last thing you ever see. You hurt my daughter, tried to corrupt my wife and nearly ruined the stability of my family. You deserve to die not just because of what you did to me but what you did to the world. All those innocent lives you took, today I avenge them.
.

Evlyn ➡ (laughs) HA, HA, HA, HA.
.

Riley ➡ What’s funny?
.

Suddenly in that moment, Riley feels a sinister vibe all over his body and just as he was about to react, something zooms past him with lightning speed and hits him hard. Not only did Riley feel the pain but he was also sent flying like a catapulted stone out of the council grounds.
With Riley gone and out of sight, Evlyn steadily gets back to her feet and begins to regenerate. The fact that she was almost beaten by a human didn’t sit well with her and it made her mad. Just as she was about to head to the direction where Riley was sent flying to, Evlyn was intercepted by the presence of Rose.
The sensation in that moment became very high and tense as both witches sensed each other’s presence. After hearing a lot about each other, both Rose and Evlyn had been eager for the day that they would meet and now the destined day had come. Despite the fact that she had never fought the shadow witch before, Evlyn knew that Rose was different than any witch or wizard she had fought. For some reason, she felt this dark akin connection with the shadow witch making her feel respect for the witch before her.

Evlyn ➡ I take it that you’re Rose? The famous shadow witch of Ibadan.
.

Rose ➡ Seeing what you’ve done here, I don’t need any introduction to know who you are.
.

Evlyn ➡ I’ve been wanting to meet you ever since I got resurrected. The stories I’ve heard about you just made me eager to see if the tales are true.
.

Rose ➡ I heard you’re the most powerful witch in existence and from what I’ve seen,…. (laughs)
.

Evlyn ➡ What’s funny?
.

Rose ➡ You got beaten by my brother-in-law. A mere human for that matter. You’re not the most powerful witch.
.

Evlyn ➡ So you’re here to oppose me? It never ends well for those who oppose me. Join my ranks and reap the rewards of my conquest.

Rose ➡ (chuckles) I’m nobody’s dog. I’d rather die than to join you. (spits)

Evlyn ➡ So you’re fighting for these worthless humans as well?

Rose ➡ (laughs) You can kill the humans if you like. I don’t care.

Evlyn. ➡ Yet, you married one.
.

Rose ➡ Lionel’s just my pet. He’s an exception and he has his qualities.

Evlyn ➡ So what are you fighting for exactly?

Rose ➡ Who cares? I’m just doing whatever I feel like because I can.

Evlyn ➡ You’re crazy.
.

Rose ➡ (laughs) That’s right. After all, I’m the mad witch after all.
.

Evlyn ➡ Since you won’t join me, your death is certain.

Rose ➡ Do you think you stand a chance against me?
.

Evlyn ➡ Your Supreme witch and your precious niece couldn’t beat me. What makes think you can?

Rose ➡ Let me show you.

Expecting the unexpected is one of life’s most valuable lessons and considering what I’ve been through, I’ve grown accustomed to expecting the unexpected. Never in my life have been so sure of anything until moments ago, Evlyn was within my grasp. I had her and I might have finally gotten the chance to end her but somehow some sort of omen struck at that moment making me lose my chance.
After I was separated from Evlyn, I decided to go back and finish what I started. I felt frustrated that I couldn’t teleport to her place instantly to finish her off. This black dome that she created is a nuisance and without my teleportation abilities, fighting Evlyn on equal ground would be next to impossible.
Suddenly as I was running towards the direction of the council hall, I stopped abruptly as I felt a powerful sinister aura lurking around me. There was something about this sensation that didn’t sit well with me, it was making me feel goosebumps all over but it didn’t take long for me to know who was behind this sinister sensation. In that moment as I stood looking around cautiously, I noticed someone standing just a few meters away from me. At first, I didn’t have a clear view of the person’s identify but as he/she got closer, I was devastated when I saw who it was.

Riley ➡ AMON!!!
.

Amon ➡ (smiles viciously) HUMAN!! SURPRISED TO SEE ME!?
.

Riley ➡ You’re going to pay dearly for what you did to my parents.
.

Amon ➡ (laughs) How could I forget? Your parents were so weak and feeble. I also remember dealing with Christen… Oh, by the way.. How is she? Is she still as lovely as I remember her? (licks lips)
.

Out of rage, I charged towards Amon as fast as I could and in that moment, I used my magic gloves to conjure up a long thick spear which I threw at Amon. Surprisingly enough, the bastard swiftly dodged and activated his magic (death magic) hoping to finish me off but I rammed through him like bull, lifted him from the ground and pinned him to the ground by slamming him hard with all my might. After that, I mounted on top of him and began to punch the life out of him. I wanted the miserable bastard to feel pain but all he did was laugh at my face.

Amon ➡ (laughs) That’s it.. Let out all your rage. Show me your misery.
.

Riley ➡ I’m going to kill you. This time, I will make you suffer before you go to hell again.
.

Amon ➡ No. This time, I will be the one turning the tables. You’re mine now human!
.

Suddenly in that moment, Amon grabbed my arm and then shoved me as hard as he could with both of his legs sending me flying away from him. Just as I was about crash on the ground, Amon instantly grabbed hold of my legs and began to swing me around for some seconds before he flung me into a nearby ritual temple.
Apart from their magic, witches/wizard had immense physical strength but this was just too bizarre. Being toyed with like this wasn’t an ordinary thing and so was Amon’s strength. Since I’m now as physically strong as the Witches/wizards, I should be able to fight Amon with ease but there’s something about this strength that is just beyond supernatural. After crashing painfully into the temple, I tried getting back to my feet but Amon suddenly appeared behind me and began to pummel me with punches. Each punch was heavier and harder than the next and it didn’t take long for my face to get messed up pretty bad. After Amon was done punching me, he stood over me and began to laugh and then in that moment, I saw something unbelievable. Half of Amon’s face looked different from the other half, the aura around him had changed not to mention his tone. After going through such a quickly transformation, Amon reached down and grabbed me by the throat, his breath was so hot like fire and as he opened his mouth and began to talk, I noticed some traces of smoke escaping from his mouth and nose.

Belial ➡ I’ve been waiting a long time for this. You’ve been an annoying pest and I’m going to crush you.
.

Riley ➡ Your voice?.. Let me guess… Belial.
.

Belial ➡ For thirty years, you’ve thwarted my plans to walk the earth. First you marry my prized mate and mated with her, then you dare stand up to me. The pain I’m going to unleash on you in hell will unlike any other. As I torture you, I’m going to make you watch lose everything you care about and once you’ve lost all hope, you’re going to watch as the love of your life becomes my whore. I might even add your precious daughter to the list.

Riley ➡ So Evlyn sought for your help?
.

Belial ➡ Yes and now thanks to her, I will be able to walk this earth soon.
.

Riley ➡ I won’t let you.
.

Belial ➡ (laughs) Who are you to stop me? As far as I’m concerned, you’re finished.
.

Riley ➡ All this years, I’ve been asking myself why God hasn’t allowed me to die but now I think the reason why.
.

Belial ➡ (laughs) FOOL!! so you think you’re alive just to stop me?… I’M A DEVIL, THE SECOND STRONGEST DEVIL RIGHT NEXT TO SATAN. You think that you A MERE HUMAN can stop me? Do you know how many damned souls I have under my watch? Do you know how many millennium I’ve lived? I’ve seen the beginning of things and I will also see their end and that includes you.

Riley ➡ (chuckles) Yeah, you’re a devil but God made your kind to bow before us when Adam was created. Had it not been for Satan, mankind would have lived in paradise. So you’re a devil but that doesn’t make you superior to me. In fact, I’m superior to you because in the end, you’re nothing more than a watch dog in hell.

Belial ➡ (growls angrily) Watch dog eh? Any last words?
.

Riley ➡ Even tho I walked through the valley of the shadow of dèãth, I féâr no évil, for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. In Jesus name AMEN.
.

Belial ➡ What was that?
.

Riley ➡ One of the finest words any human would say in this dark hour.
.

Belial ➡ What a waste of…(gasps)
.

It never ceases to amaze me what the power of a small prayer can do. I can never thank my mother enough for putting us through the right path of prayer. At the early stages of our lives, Lionel and I had tried numerous times to avoid our mom’s constant attendance to church but I’m glad we didn’t deviant.
Immediately Belial was paralyzed by my prayer, I quickly got back to my feet, conjured up a cross around my fist and began to pummel the devilish bastard with all my strength. I didn’t allow Belial to get any chance to come at me, I swung my punches left and right at his face as fast and hard as I could. The miserable bastard twitched his face in pain as I punched him and just as I was about to finish him off with an upper cut, something unexpected occurred.
Suddenly in that moment, Belial instantly spaced himself away from me and then opened his mouth so wide that he could swallow a full grown goat then, he unleashed a powerful blast of flame from his mouth. In that moment, I dodged swiftly and then to run circles around him but the idiot didn’t stay put, he began to chase me as well. Despite running with all my might, Belial was quickly gaining on me and it was only a matter of time before he would catch up to me. I knew I needed a way out so I decided to take a big risk. Using the power of my gloves once more, I conjured up another pair of lightening gauntlets and then charged straight at Belial. Once I get my hands on him, I’ll charge up enough lightning energy to roast him alive.
However, just as I was about to close in on Belial, he suddenly transformed into a giant serpent and then quickly coiled himself around me breaking my bones steadily. I tried breaking myself free but Belial’s serpent form had gripped me so firmly that I couldn’t even move a muscle.

Riley ➡ How ironic! Reducing yourself to your very true nature.. (grunts)
.

Belial ➡ You’re finished Riley.. Time to make you suffer.
.

In that moment, Belial opened his serpent mouth trying to roast me alive with a flame that was building up inside and just as I was about to be burnt alive, something unexpected occurred.
Within a blink of an eye, some kind of magical energy appeared struck Belial making let go of me but that didn’t stop there. After being struck with the magical energy, Belial reverted back to Amon’s body and began to moan painfully. His skin was disintegrating steadily and he was vomiting blood. I was surprised and confused myself as I saw what was going on but it didn’t take long for me to find out who was responsible for this turn of events.
Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw my daughter Ebinoluwa approaching Belial. She looked very pissed and angry as if she was going to explode. Her gaze on Belial was vicious and from the looks of it, she’s going for the kill. As soon as Belial saw my daughter and realized that she was responsible for what was going on, he unleashed his powerful blast of flame from his mouth but then to his surprise, Ebinoluwa altered the nature of the flame countering it with ice magic which she used to turn the devil into a frozen statue.
Belial who was now turned to ice tried to melt his way out but before he could do that, Ebinoluwa got to him and made him pay. Placing her hands on the devil’s frozen face, my daughter’s eyes sparkled with green light and within a blink of an eye, Belial was instantly petrified. Immediately Belial turned into stone, Ebinoluwa is tapped his head with her finger after which he was reduced to dust but that wasn’t the end of him. After being reduced into dust, Belial’s spirit escaped into the atmosphere voicing out his thoughts to us.

Belial ➡ This isn’t over, Riley. I’m coming back and when I do. It will be the end of you and those you love.
.

After that alarming statement, Belial’s spirit vanished from our eyes and as soon as that happened, Ebinoluwa came to check up on me.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Dad, are you alright?
.

Riley ➡ Why did you come back here?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I couldn’t leave you and besides mom is here.
.

Riley ➡ We have to go now. If Evlyn gets a hold of you. It’s over.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ We can’t. Aunt Rose is battling Evlyn.
.

Riley ➡ What!? But she’s pregnant.. If she uses too much of her magic, she might either die or lose the baby. Let’s go help her. We’re running out of time.
