After the brutal triumph over Ebinoluwa, Evlyn returns to her fortress with a face full of vicious smile and defiance. Her followers who had noticed her good mood were surprised wondering what could have excited her to this extent. Both Iyunloye and Xeira who noticed the mood of the dark witch watched maintained their silence but they too were also curious to know.
Evlyn who had now reached her throne gently sat on it and stretched herself comfortably before letting out a sinister laughter that shook and echoed the fortress. Every one of Evlyn’s followers trembled in fear as they felt the darkness in her laughter. However, Xeira who wasn’t all that intimidated by the dark witch boldly approached and asked her about the reason behind her joyful mood.
.
Xeira âž¡ Your eminence if I may ask, What is the reason behind your excitement? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you like this before.
.
Evlyn âž¡ You really want to know, hmm?
.
Xeira âž¡ As your followers, we deserve to know.
.
Evlyn âž¡ Well since you’re so interested, I’ll tell you. I fought Ebinoluwa moments ago and it was…….fun.
.
Iyunloye âž¡ You fought Ebinoluwa?
.
Xeira âž¡ Did you kill her? I’m dying to know.
.
Evlyn âž¡ No.. I didn’t kill her. Not yet. The young witch is quite inexperienced but she has been the only supernatural force that was managed to tangle with me for so long. She had an incredible untapped magic power and I want her to join us.
.
Xeira âž¡ Your hopes are wasted if you think she will join us on her own free will, even if you force her she won’t.
.
Iyunloye âž¡ Your eminence, she is a threat. She must be killed. Letting her live would only make her stronger.
.
Evlyn âž¡ SILENCE!!… The girl with all gifts is no longer a problem, I made her realize how powerful I am and she knows that she’s no match for me.
.
Xeira âž¡ What if she comes back stronger?
.
Evlyn âž¡ (laughs) She won’t. I’ve broken her physically and mentally. I’m pretty sure that right now she’s hiding. She knows what she went through and she knows it is futile to oppose me.
.
Xeira âž¡ In that case, I would like to finish her off.
.
Evlyn âž¡ Didn’t you hear what I said you fish b-tch!? I said Ebinoluwa is mine, I’ll be the one to decide her fate. She may have escaped this time but the next time we collide, I’m going to drain out every ounce of humanity that is in her and I will corrupt her to my hearts desire. However, there is an important matter at hand.
.
Xeira âž¡ Such as?
.
Evlyn âž¡ Now that Ebinoluwa has been dealt with, I would like everyone of you to out and invite every supernatural being to a public gathering that will be held in 7 days time. Whilst you’re doing that make sure you make our presence known, terrorize the humans and put fears into their hearts. Kill anyone that tries to stand in your way. You’re all free to do whatever you want cause starting from now, chaos and carnage reigns.

🎀 RILEY 🎀
Christen and I had hopes for a warm welcome after our return from the other dimension but instead we came home only to be faced with unfortunate circumstances. After learning about Evlyn’s assault on Ebinoluwa, Christen and I became worried and disturbed thinking about the possible future encounters with the darkest and most powerful witch to ever walk the earth. However our worries only grew as we saw the change and heavy toll the encounter with Evlyn took on the mental state of our daughter, Ebinoluwa.
Despite being alive and well, Ebinoluwa wasn’t herself at all. She has been silent ever since she returned and has also confined herself in her bedroom cutting off all contact with everyone including us her parents. Whenever we tried to talk or calm her down, she would yell angrily like a vengeful lioness and tell us to leave her alone.
This side of Ebinoluwa soon began to make Christen cry thinking that Evlyn had turned our daughter into a psycho. I had to do all I can to assure Christen that everything would be okay and that Ebinoluwa would return to her normal self. To be honest, even I myself feared and wondered if Ebinoluwa would ever be okay cause its been 3 days since our return and Ebinoluwa hasn’t shown any signs of changes.
One night at around 2:00am, I woke up abruptly from a nightmare only to see Christen sitting on the edge of our bed crying silently. In that moment, I sat up and stared at her for some time before crossing over to her. Immediately I got close to her, I wrapped my arms around her and tried comforting her the best way I can.

Riley âž¡ Honey, please don’t cry. You should be….
.
Christen âž¡ Sleeping? How can I sleep when my daughter has confined herself in her room like a mentally retarded person.
.
Riley âž¡ I know it’s hard but there’s nothing we can do. She went through a terrible ordeal and only God knows what happened.
.
Christen âž¡ So you’re fine with the way Ebinoluwa is?
.
Riley âž¡ No I’m not but the best thing we can do for her is to give her space. She’s no longer a child, she’s a grown young lady and she must learn to deal with what is bothering her. There are moments in life that we can’t help our daughter.
.
Christen âž¡ That’s Evlyn.. I’m going to kill her. I swear it. I’m going to kill her.
.
Riley âž¡ Honey keep it together. There’s nothing more than I want than to bury that ancient b-tch that assaulted our daughter but let’s face facts.. You’re no match for her. You’ll only get yourself killed and I won’t allow that.
.
Christen âž¡ But we can’t just sit around and wait for her to come.. Oh please.. I hope the prophecy doesn’t come true.
.
Riley âž¡ What prophecy?
.
Christen âž¡ Remember when I went on that vacation with Rose and my cousins. Well, we went to some place at the other side of the world far from the reach of man. In that place, I met an old blind which that told me about the prophecy. She said that my future lies in 2 paths.. One leads to eternal misery and suffering while the other leads to the exact opposite. Riley, I’m afraid.
.
Riley âž¡ Christen, everything is going to be fine.
.
Christen âž¡ How do you know?
.
Riley âž¡ I don’t but I do believe we’ll get through this. You and I have risked and suffered a lot to get to where we are now so don’t think that there’s anything that can destroy what we’ve built together. No matter what happens, we will always be together, you and I, our kids, everyone we know and love.
.
Christen âž¡ I certainly hope so Riley. I’m sure lucky to have met and married you. You always feel my heart with hope.
.
Riley âž¡ I’m glad you feel that way. Now let’s go back to sleep.
.
Christen âž¡ Alright.

Hours later the next morning, everyone in my household except Ebinoluwa gathered around having breakfast at the dining table. We all ate in silence but there was a deep meaning behind it. Normally, Junior and Ebinoluwa would be arguing with one another but now that’s she’s not present with us, the vibe was no longer there. As we were busy eating and maintaining our silence, Morenike spoke and asked about Ebinoluwa’s state of mind. Christen and I stared at each other momentarily before answering Morenike’s question.
.
Morenike âž¡ Mom, Dad… Is Ebinoluwa alright? It’s been 4 days now since she confined herself inside our bedroom and she hasn’t talked to anyone or ate anything since then. Is she ever going to be okay? I’m worried about her.
.
Riley âž¡ Don’t worry Morenike. She will be fine. She just needs space.
.
Morenike âž¡ I humbly disagree. What she needs is comfort and closure.
.
Christen âž¡ MORENIKE!!….
.
Morenike âž¡ Yes ma.
.
Christen âž¡ I understand how you feel but you saw how she’s acting. I more than anyone would like to comfort her but she’s not giving us any chance to.
.
Riley âž¡ Junior!
.
Riley Jr âž¡ Yes sir?
.
Riley âž¡ I hope you’ve remembered what I told you.
.
Riley Jr âž¡ Yes! “I shouldn’t go anywhere without asking for permission. It’s no longer safe to be outside”.
.
Riley âž¡ Good. You saw what happened to your sister. Looking out for each other is our top priority now.
.
Shortly after I said that, Oliver instantly appeared before us. After exchanging the usual pleasantries, Oliver requested to have a private conversation with Christen and I which we didn’t hesitate to have but before we did that, we had to leave the dinning table.
.
Christen âž¡ What’s this conversation you want to have, Oliver?
.
Oliver âž¡ There is a problem.
.
Riley âž¡ What kind of problem?
.
Oliver âž¡ Our guild came across a vital information last night. It is believed that Evlyn is calling for a public assembly in a 4 days time.
.
Riley âž¡ Public assembly?
.
Christen âž¡ Where is this assembly holding ?.
.
Oliver âž¡ Somewhere in Oyo. Rose has managed to get permission from Orisaye to launch a full scale attack. I’ve been tasked to gather the best wizards and witches around for the assault.
.
Christen âž¡ I’m coming.
.
Riley âž¡ No, absolutely not.
.
Christen âž¡ Riley. Don’t interfere. I want this.
.
Riley âž¡ Absolutely not. This is dangerous.
.
Oliver âž¡ Riley, nobody is safe anymore. We all have to fight if we’re to ever survive. The best we can do is keep our children from joining the fight. Evlyn is a plague, wherever she goes, chaos follows.
.
Riley âž¡ But… Oh God.. In that case, I’ll coming as well.
.
Oliver âž¡ No you can’t. Except your family and relatives, everyone thinks you’re dead. Seeing you fighting there with us will only complicate things and if that happens, Ebinoluwa’s secret will be revealed.
.
Christen âž¡ He’s right honey.
.
Riley âž¡ Babe, you can’t honestly think that I’ll let you go by yourself. You could get hurt.
.
Christen âž¡ I can take care of myself.
.
Oliver âž¡ Riley, I have something for you. In case this meeting gets out of hand, we’ll need help in keeping the public safe. I’ve dispatched some of the guild members for that job. I want you to join as well.
.
Riley âž¡ Alright then.
.
Oliver âž¡ How’s Ebinoluwa?
.
Christen âž¡ Still the same.
.
Oliver âž¡ (sighs) We could really use her powers right now. I hope she recovers soon.
.
Riley âž¡ Even if she recovers, I won’t let her face that nightmare again.

🥀 ROTIMI 🥀
Being unable to help my girlfriend hurts but watching her suffer mentally because of that terrible ordeal she went through was even worse. It’s been 5 days since I last saw Ebinoluwa home and since then I haven’t been able to see her. After her parents heard about what had happened especially when I wasn’t around when their daughter got beat up, they felt angry and even though they told me it wasn’t my fault, I couldn’t help but feel that they were blaming me for everything.
Without being told to, I decided to back off and let things cool down before I show my face at Ebinoluwa’s house. However, that didn’t stop me from checking on Ebinoluwa through her foster sister Morenike whom i ask every single day about her condition. I was hoping that she’d be fine but it seems that wasn’t case. Hearing about Ebinoluwa’s erratic behavior made me worry even more and more until I wasn’t able take it anymore.
One afternoon, I went over Ebinoluwa’s residence to pay her a visit and by the time I got to her house, I saw her father sitting silently in front of the house. In that moment, our eyes met and it made me feel somewhat awkward. Despite how I felt, I managed to get close to Ebinoluwa’s father and stare him in the eye. I greeted the man and waited for his response which later came after a long chilling stare.
.
Rotimi âž¡ Good afternoon sir.
.
Riley âž¡…………………….. Afternoon Rotimi.
.
Rotimi âž¡ Sorry to come here uninvited but I was worried about your daughter and I had to come see her.
.
Riley âž¡ Ebinoluwa isn’t seeing anyone at the moment but as soon as she does, you’ll be informed.
.
Rotimi âž¡Sir, I know I’m asking alot but can I at least see her?
.
Riley âž¡ Didn’t you hear what I said? My daughter is not seeing anyone at the moment.. Go away.
.
Rotimi âž¡ Sir Please.
.
Riley âž¡ I said GO AWAY.
.
Rotimi âž¡ With all due respect sir. No. I can’t leave not until I see your daughter.
.
Riley âž¡ You dare defy me?
.
Rotimi âž¡ I meant no disrespect sir but I can’t rest until I see your daughter. You may not believe me sir but I haven’t had a good night sleep knowing that I played a part to whatever Ebinoluwa is going through right now. If only I hadn’t left, she wouldn’t have gone through all of this. I love your daughter sir and she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I hate myself for not being there when she needed help.
.
Riley âž¡ Am I supposed to feel sorry for you?
.
Rotimi âž¡ I honestly don’t care what you think. All I want is for Ebinoluwa to be okay and I won’t leave until she is.
.
Riley âž¡ Suit yourself but don’t expect me to allow you into this house. The place is surrounded with protection spell and only family members can to get in.
.
After that statement, Ebinoluwa’s father went back into the house and left me alone outside. In that moment, I decided to see if what he said about protection spell is true and before I could even get to the door, I bumped into some kind of invisible barrier. I tried forcing my way through but I was soon struck by some kind of devastating shockwave that sent me flying.
Although the shockwave didn’t kill me, the pain I felt all over my body was too much. Seeing that I couldn’t get into Ebinoluwa’s house, I decided to stay outside and wait for her. For hours, I sat underneath a tree shade staring at Ebinoluwa’s window. Her room was quiet like a grave yard and there was no any kind of movement, it was as if the room was empty but despite all of this, I perceived her scent which was incredibly strong.
As the hours passed, the sun soon disappeared from the sky and gave way to the moon. By this time around, I was feeling hungry and tired but I decided to keep my word and stay. Just when I thought that was going to spend the night in hunger, Ebinoluwa’s foster sister Morenike approached me with a plate of Eba, a hot stew and bottle of cold water. I was utterly surprised cause ever since I came here, nobody paid attention to me, I was ignored as if I didn’t exist. Normally, I wouldn’t mind cause I’ve been treated like this so many times but then I was pleased that they didn’t forget me.
.
Morenike âž¡ Rotimi.. Here’s your dinner. Enjoy.
.
Rotimi âž¡ Thank you very much.
.
Morenike âž¡ Don’t thank me. Thank the lady of the house. She was watching you ever since you came.
.
Rotimi âž¡ Please thank her for me.
.
Morenike âž¡ Rotimi, I admire your resolve but you should go home. Ebinoluwa wouldn’t want you to be going through this.
.
Rotimi âž¡ I appreciate your concern but this is what I want.
.
Morenike âž¡ At least, let me get you a place to spend the night. I’ll call Chris so that he can…
.
Rotimi âž¡ Thanks but no. This is what I want.
.
Morenike âž¡ Don’t be absurd Rotimi, it’s not safe to be out here.
.
Rotimi âž¡ Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.
.
Morenike âž¡ Okay but just in case you want someplace to crash, Chris’s house is outside this forest. Good night.
.
After Morenike took her leave, I took my time and enjoyed the delicious Eba she brought for me. Fortunately for me, the Eba was enough to sustain my hunger and as soon as I was done eating, I rinsed my hands and founded a spot to spend the night.
Unlike other beings, Demons can do without sleeping or resting but that’s not in my own case. Being half human limits my demonic capabilities but of course I can stay awake for at least days without sleeping and It takes a while before I feel tired or stressed out. Hours later after I had eaten my dinner, I began to feel bored despite how lovely the night is. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful not mention the sky that was filled with bright shiny stars and the air was filled with gentle cool breeze that would make any living being enjoy a good night’s sleep.
In order to kill my boredom, I decided to take a stroll around the forest and enjoy the cool breeze while I still can. After taking off my shirt leaving only my singlet on, I took off walking around steadily and quietly. Unlike the forests back in Osogbo, this particular one here was much more comforting. As the breeze blew through the forest, a swift yet rich scent of tree leaves and grasses filled the air like an intoxicating feeling. I had to stay still for a while to enjoy the quietness and rich smell of nature around me, the feeling was just great.
After enjoying my moment of peaceful tranquility and solace, I continued walking until I sighted the Iroko tree that Ebinoluwa loves to sit on but before I could get close enough, I felt another presence at the place. At first I was alarmed so I approached the tree cautiously and as I got closer, I saw someone standing underneath the tree staring at the sky. At first, I was surprised when I saw that it was a woman but then I got shocked as I recognized who it was.
.
Rotimi âž¡ Ebinoluwa… Is that you?
.
There was no response but it was certainly Ebinoluwa, there was no doubt about it. There’s no way I’d forget that voluptuous physique of her and that enticing smell of lovely skin, it was definitely her but how the hell did I not sense her until now. In that moment, I approached her slowly and stood next to her, she was dead silent and the look on her face was like that of a person who had given up on life. Despite how sad and rough she was, Ebinoluwa certainly looked great. Her messy hair gave her a punk rock look and her black short nightie certainly revealed too much of her feminine assets. She was just a hot cake waiting to be eaten but I had to control myself, this wasn’t the appropriate time to get hot between the legs.
.
Rotimi âž¡ Hey Babe, are you okay? I’ve been worried sick about you. Is there anything I can do to make you feel better.
.
Ebinoluwa still said nothing but instead she turned and stared at me as if she was seeing a stranger. For a moment, I thought I might have said something wrong but then she took my by surprise when she wrapped her hands around and hugger me tightly and before I could recover from my shock, she began to cry.
I’ve seen women cry lots of times without feeling anything for them but Ebinoluwa’s own was different. Watching and hearing her cry on my chest made my heart heavy with pity. I had no idea what to do or console Ebinoluwa, all I could do was hold her tightly while she cried. After crying for what seemed like an eternity, Ebinoluwa began to open up.
.
Ebinoluwa âž¡ Rotimi,… I’m….(sniffs)… I’m scared.
.
Rotimi âž¡ You don’t have to be. I’m here for you..
.
Ebinoluwa âž¡ I don’t.. don’t.. know what to do.. (sniffs) I’ve never been like this before.
.
Rotimi âž¡ It’s okay babe.. Why don’t we go somewhere and talk about this? Stop crying you hear? I’m here for you, always.
.
