“I don’t know, Brie. What should I say? Do you want to forgive him?”.
“Should I?”.
“Brie. Its up to you, its your choice. I don’t have to make decisions for you all the time, do this yourself for once, hmm?”.
I sighed softly. “But he hurt me, Chloe. He was never there for me or my mother in the first place”.
“Was that why you left his mansion back then?”.
“Hm. Nope”. I shook my head. “Lauren was being a bitch as usual”.
“She has always been a bitch”.
I laughed lightly. “Well yeah, she has. She’ll always refer me as a bastard in front of her friends, calling my mother names”.
“Was it bad?”. Chloe asked whispering.
“Really bad. It went to a point that I finally had the guts to confront her but she went ahead to slap me and I had to slap her too”.
“At least you slapped her. Thats kind of fair enough”.
I scoffed. “I wish. Lauren reported me to her Mum who insisted that I should leave the mansion with immediate effect”.
“And you did?”.
I shrugged. “What else was I supposed to do? My Dad didn’t even defended me, he had always considered Lauren his only child anyways”.
“And the hell!”. Chloe clenched her fists angrily. “If I were you, they would have been in the hospital that night, trust me”.
“Well I left. I got the message that nobody wanted me around and thats why I went to college”.
“And met me”. She added. “You know, I hated the fact you were my room mate”.
“I know”. I laughed again remembering. “I remember you always calling me weakling all the time”.
She laughed along. “I had to. Oh God! Brie, you were too soft and forgiving that I had to get angry at your nature sometimes”.
“I remember that time you scattered the whole room just to see me angry”.
“Yeah, right? But instead you arranged it and that got me so pissed off. I had to tell you off”.
“And that was the beginning of a lovely friendsh¡p”. I continued the story.
“Hm. Nope. You and I only became friends because I helped beat you André”.
Oh yeah! I had this boyfriend, André who I thought loved me but then he dumped me in front of the college building and I got laughed at.
But Chloe didn’t comfort me, she instead forced me to show her where André lived and then she sent him to a hospital for like months.
Yep, she beat him to a pulp. Thats crazy Chloe Houston for you.
“You know I saved your life by beating up that rich dude. He was bad for your health”.
“Yeah”. I fiddled with my fingers. “But I kind of liked André very much though”.
“And thats what you said about Mark, then Murray, Ben too before meeting Robert and lastly that blockhead, Nicholas”.
“I thought they all loved me”. I said to her wistfully.
“But they all cheated on you. What a sad story, Brie”.
“Hm”. I hummed remembering the times I cried when each boyfriend broke up with me. “But its funny how you still know them till now”.
“I’m just keeping a watch out for you. Well at least, you got Liam now. I’m pretty sure he won’t cheat on you”.
“He k×ssed Trisha”. I blurted out.
Chloe arched her eyebrows. “Huh? What are you yapping about just now?”.
“He k×ssed Trisha”. I repeated quietly. “I saw them in his office, both entangled”.
She stood up immediately. “That son of a bitch”.
“But he apologized”. I said quickly. “Liam explained things to me and I forgave him”.
“That doesn’t f×¢king matter. Wait there, hold up, was that why you went into labor all of a sudden?”.
I nodded slowly. “Yeah”.
“Dammit! What if you didn’t survive! And to think I trusted him with your heart. He’s gonna get it from me”.
“Please don’t kill him”. I said meekly.
“Okay fine”. She sat back next to me. “But just because you asked”.
I breathed out in relief. “Thanks!”.
“But I’m still kicking his hot ass later”.
“Oh. So you admit that his ass is hot?”. I asked her amusedly.
She chuckled lightly. “Oh please. Not as hot as Lucas”.
“Shit! Chloe, have you slept with him?”.
“Yeah”. Her cheeks flushed red. “And oh, Brie, he’s damn good”.
“Thats great, Chloe. I mean, you haven’t been interested in anyone since__”.
“Don’t mention his name please”.
“Alright. But where is Lucas? I haven’t seen him since I got conscious. Where is he?!”.
“Oh. He’s bringing Lili over, he went to go pick up”.
I giggled. “I wonder how Lili’s reaction will be when she sees her younger siblings”.

“Mommy loves cookies”. Lilian accepted it from her excitedly. “I’ll give them to her”.
“Take a bite out of it”. I told Trisha.
She looked at me. “What?”.
“Take a bite out of it first”. I repeated myself coldly. “Who knows if you added anything in it?”.
Trisha scoffed. “So you are saying that I intend to poison Lili? You know she’ll eat out of it too why the fussing?”.
“I don’t trust you”. I said immediately. “You hate Brianna, I know that. So why those cookies all of a sudden?”.
“But Uncle Lucas. Whats wrong with the cookies?”. Lili asked. “Are they bad for my Mommy?”.
“Yes, Lili”. I squatted to her height. “I don’t think your Mommy will be able to eat out of it”.
“Oh”. She pouted cutely. “But if Mommy is not able to eat them then I won’t eat them either”.
I smiled at her. “Thats a good girl. Now go wait in the car for me, baby”.
“You won’t stay long?”.
“I won’t”.
“Pinky promise?”. She held out her right fingers for me.
“Promise”. I held it too and she beamed brightly. “See?”.
“You have two minutes”. She giggled and walked off outside the kitchen.
“What was that?”.
I straightened up facing her. “What?”.
“You just made it seem like I’m a bad person in front of my daughter. And I don’t like that, Lucas”.
“Aren’t you a bad person! Planning evil for Brianna just because you lost your place as William’s wife and Lilian’s mother”.
“Thats not true”.
“Then stop attacking Brianna because she didn’t do anything wrong”. I retorted.
“She took my family away from me”.
I scoffed. “Really? You pushed Liam away yourself, he really loved you, Trisha. He had the heart to search around for you after you left thinking you were kidnapped”.
“And he still loves me”. She said firmly.
“No, Trisha, you are getting it all wrong. He is in love with Brianna, he loves her and they now have children together so it will be best if you leave them alone”.
Her l-ips quivered. “But my daughter … “.
“Lilian won’t be taken away from you if thats what you are afraid of. Trisha, we all know she’s your daughter”.
“But__”.
“Just because you’ll sign the divorce papers doesn’t mean you’ll leave her life, Lili loves you, Trisha”.
“I know that”.
“Can’t you see she’s happy with Brianna being with her Daddy?”. I said softly. “If you want Lilliana to be happy then you’ll stop all these plans for Brianna”.
“Lilian calls her Mommy so I thought she took away my place already. No one would want to feel neglected by her daughter, Lucas”.
I sighed softly. “Trisha. You’ll be allowed to be with Lilian whenever you want so don’t you think you should just sign the paper?”.
“You think so?”. She said in a whisper.
“Yeah instead of trying to cut off others happiness just for your own benefits. You don’t want to learn your lesson the hærd way”.
“Alright, Lucas. I’ll think about it”. She said sniffing back tears.
“You’ll sign the divorce papers?”.
“I’ll sign them”. She bursted into tears. “I’ll give away my rights as Lili’s mother. I won’t get to see her anymore”.
I was really glad to hear that Brianna will no longer have a rival but at the same time, I feel a little bit sorry for Trisha.
But if she loved Lillian this much. Then why did she leave her in the first place? Hm?

“I’ll sign them”. She bursted into tears. “I’ll give away my rights as Lili’s mother. I won’t get to see her anymore”.
I was really glad to hear that Brianna will no longer have a rival but at the same time, I feel a little bit sorry for Trisha.
But if she loved Lillian this much. Then why did she leave her in the first place? Hm?
“So the divorce papers?”. I asked trying to know if she’s being serious.
“Tell Williams to send them over”.
I nodded and turned walking out of the kitchen heading outside the main entrance.
“Uncle Lucas?”. Lili had her arms stretched out for me.
I smiled and carried her in my arms then unlocked the car doors. I opened the front door and placed her on the seat attaching the seatbelt.
She pouted. “But I don’t need the seatbelt anyways”.
“You need it”. I told her getting in as well.
“You always drive safely so why do I get to have this all the time? It restricts me”.
“I’m not removing it”.
She pouted even more cutely so I looked away not to be affected. I ins××t the key in the ignition and then turn on the engine.
“Uncle Lucas?”. Lili spoke up as I drove out through the gates.
“You are not taking that seatbelt off”.
“No, its not that”.
I glanced at her. “Then what?”.
“Why didn’t you want me to accept what my Momma gave to me? The chocolate ch¡p cookies?”.
Oh Jeez! How do I explain to a eight year old that her mother attempted to take a person’t life?!
“Well Brianna is allergic to cookies, thats why”. I lied.
“What? Thats not true, Mommy loves those kind of cookies so much. She makes my Daddy get them for her every time when her belly was just fat”.
“Well she doesn’t like them anymore”.
“But why? Is something wrong? Or are you just lying to me?”.
How come Lilliana is so inquisitive? Isn’t she eight year old? Eight year olds are all meant to be talking about toys and all that.
“Uncle Lucas?”. She spoke up. “Tell me or is it because Momma doesn’t like my own Mommy?”.
“Well they are not in good terms”. I said to her while I drove steadily.
“Oh. But I can make them like each other, right?”.
I sighed softly. “No. You can’t, Lili”.
“Yes, I can “.
I ignored driving at a steady rate hoping to get to the hospital in time just before Liam decides to leave though.
“Uncle Lucas?”.
Oh God! Help me.
“Yes, baby?”.
“Is Aunt Chloe your … “. She trails off as she giggles. “Is she your girlfriend?”.
Walt. What?
“Lili”. I warned her.
“I just want you to say something. I’m so bored in this convertible, can’t you drive faster so I can meet my Mommy already?”.
“Yes, Aunt Chloe is my girlfriend. Why?”.
“Daddy says she’s crazy”.
I look at him surprised. “What?”.
“I told Daddy I wanted to be just like her and he said that I shouldn’t because she is so crazy”.
Williams! Expected of him to say that. I might just mention this to Chloe so he can get a beating.
“Why do you want to be like her?”. I asked instead.
“I love she fights”. I notice Lili’s eyes light up as she talks about Chloe nonstop.
“So have you seen her fighting before?”.
“Uh-Huh. Yeah, when some guy pointed a gun at Mommy. It was like months ago”.
My heart clenched as I remembered what happened, Chloe taking a bullet for Anna and then she going unconscious.
Lauren tries to kill her to which she fails. I can say that Chloe is the type of person that hærdly sulk about things, they just deal with it their own way.
“Are we there yet?”. Lili asks.
“Just a few more minutes, baby”.
Soon I got there and pulled over at the hospital’s parking lot. Immediately I stop the car, Lili opened the door and ran out.
I opened mine and stepped out chuckling as I closed the car doors locking it shut.
I put the keys in my pockets and walked to the main entrance directly. In minutes, I got to where Brianna’s ward was and thankfully I saw Lilian.
I smiled as I watch Liam lift her in his arms making her squeal and giggled excitedly. I always loved their father-daughter moment.
Maybe someday I’ll have my own child, then I’ll treat her lovingly. Yeah, I will since cute babies are my weakness.
“Thanks, Man”. Liam said seeing me as he dropped Lilian.
“No biggie”.
“Daddy. Where’s Mommy!”. She squealed jumping up. “Can I see her now ? Where is she?”.
“Lilian. Mommy is still resting”.
“Oh”. Her face fell then brightened up in seconds again. “What about my baby sister and brother? Can I see them now?”.
Liam looks at me and I shrug. It won’t hurt if she gets a glimpse of them.
“Alright baby”. He scooped her swiftly in his arms. “Lets go see Jayden and Jana”.
“Yippee!!”.
“You don’t wanna join us?”. Liam asks. “I know how much you like babies, you not going?”.
“Maybe I’ll join you later”.
He nods and faces Lilian. “Come on. Off to meet your twin younger siblings”.
I laugh as she squeals all the way as Liam strides down the hallway. How cute is she!
“Lucas?”.
I turned and saw her. “Chloe?”.
“You are back?”.
“Oh, um, yeah. I just dropped Lili off now with Liam, they are heading to see the baby well actually, babies”.
She nodded in response. “Right”.
“You are not with Brianna? I thought you were with her in her ward before”.
“Brie’s asleep, said she’s feeling drained out. Its her first time of giving birth so she tends to be worn out by it”.
I smiled reassuringly. “She’ll be fine”.
“Yeah, she’ll”. Chloe sighs. “Wow. I never knew having a baby would be like that”.
“You didn’t know it’ll take a lot of time?”.
“And s¢ræming”. She adds. “Biting, feeling a whole lot of pains, sometimes crying”.
I laugh heartily. “So what are you saying? You not going to have babies?”.
“Precisely”. She went over to sit on one of the waiting chairs.
I sat by her confused. “What do you mean by that ?”.
“They are a whole lot of work, Lucas and I don’t think I’m ready for a child yet, not at all”.
Oh jeez! Why did she say that ? But I love babies and she doesn’t want to have them yet? This is a problem.

“Daddy. Come on, hurry up”. Lili rushes down the stairs as she says this.
“I’m right behind you, baby so no stressing out”.
“But we are late”. She huffs angrily. “And its all your fault”.
I cocked my head to look at her. “How is it my fault?”.
“You spent an hour there”.
“Lilian, stop whining. It doesn’t matter if we are late or not”.
“But it does, Daddy. I wanna see Jayden and Jana while they are awake. I need to see their lovely blue eyes again”.
I sighed as we got downstairs. Brianna will be discharged from the hospital today with Jayden and for some reason, Lili wanted us to be there early.
“Daddy!”. She whines. “Lets go already”.
“Hey guys”. Trisha strolls into the living room. “I heard voices”.
“Momma”. Lili runs to give her a hug.
I smile a little. Its heartwarming to see that Lili still loves her mother even if she left her years ago.
“Are you guys going somewhere?”. Trisha asked glancing at me.
“We want to go pick up Mommy and my baby brother too. Will you tag along?”.
“No, Lilian. Momma has to fo something very important first”.
“Oh”.
Trisha walked over to the glass table and then picked up a file handing it over to me.
I stared at it then at her before accepting it, I opened it taking out a piece of paper and realized that it was the divorce papers.
And holy moly! She signed it. She freaking signed the divorce papers. Wait. What?”.
“Daddy”. Lili tugs on my arm. “Aren’t we going anymore?”.
“Lili. Why don’t you wait in the car for me ?”. I replied still staring at Trisha.
“Are you surprised? They are not fake if its what you are thinking”.
“You signed it?”.
“Yeah”.
“Why did you do it all of a sudden?”. I ask her confused.
“Well last week, I actually learnt a lesson from Lucas said to me. He made me realize that even if I couldn’t get you, I still have my daughter’s love and thats what matters to me”.
“But how? I thought you hated Brianna? If this is one of your tricks, Trisha. Then trust me, I won’t spare you”.
“You know, you shouldn’t see me as the enemy here. Try worrying about Lauren Hills, she’s the one trying to make Brianna miserable a day from now”.
