MY MASTER
 
EPISODE 22
 
Talia;
 
“Get off me, you bag of potatoes” I gro-ned as I felt Kayden’s heavy arm wearing me down.
 
Kayden chuckled at my statement and lifted his head to look at me.
 
“Did you just call me a bag of potatoes” Kayden said with a smirk on his face.
 
“No I didn’t” I said trying to remove his heavy arm from my frame.
 
“I heard you” he said using his hand to pin me down.
 
“Says the man whose hearing is centuries old” I muttered rolling my eyes at him.
 
He snorted at me.
 
“You love me. Old man and all. And that’s a that matters” he said then stood up quietly.
 
Kayden walked over to my side of the bed and k-ssed my forehead lightly.
 
“Get up and get ready. I want to take you somewhere.” He began walking out but paused by the door. “Wear black” he added then walked out.
 
I sighed.
 
I guess we still had to work on the part of saying please in our relationsh¡p.
 
I got up and showered. I wore a simple black number from my wardrobe and paired it off with some black suede pumps.
 
I walked out of my room and began to walk towards Kayden’s room. Just as I was about to knock, the door opened. Kayden was dressed in a black suit with a black shirt. It was semi formal look however because the first three buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing just a little of his pale and muscular chest.
 
“Baby, stop looking at me like that, unless if you want us to stay in” he said his l-ips making contact with my neck. I gasped at this action.
 
All that built up s€×ual tension of the past two weeks breaking through the surface.
 
“Kayden please” I said in a barely audible whisper as his l-ips continued their assault on my neck.
 
“Tonight baby, after the ball. I promise.” He said and pulled away, “but we really need to get going. We have to be home early so that you have enough time to prepare for the ball tonight”
 
I nodded my head in understanding and followed him as he led the way out.
 
“Wait, I have to say goodbye to Emily in case she might look for me” I said just before we were out the door.
 
“She is not here, she slept at Coles.” I looked at him wide eyed, surprised that he had allowed her.
 
“She needs the comfort of her mate, tonight is her first appearance before the council as a vampire” he said shrugging his shoulders.
 
“Are you scared?” I asked him as we walked to his car.
 
“Yes, but Emily is a strong girl, she’ll be fine” he said opening the passenger door for me.
 
I sighed as I realised he had avoided my question a bit.
 
Kayden what are we doing here?” I asked my eyes already watering. +
 
“Come with me” he said offering me his hand.
 
I took his hand and walked with him, my shoes sinking slightly into the muddy road as we walked. I was freaked out as we walked past many various freaky graves. My mind was working on overload.
 
My head shot up as I realised we had stopped.
 
As I read the names engraved on the tombstones made my heart stop.
 
‘Elizabeth Morrison’
 
‘Edward Morrison’
 
“Kayden..” I began but I stopped mid sentence.
 
“It’s okay. I will give you sometime” he said and walked away.
 
I looked at my mother’s and father’s. I can’t believe I was looking at these. I never thought I would see this day.
 
I fell onto my knees and began to sob. I cried for the years I had missed with them, I cried because I hadn’t had the chance to say goodbye, I cried because I hadn’t been there to protect them. And I wept because Kayden had done something really sweet for me.
 
“Mom…..” I said and paused to let out a sob. “I miss you. I miss you and dad. I’m sorry I wasn’t around to protect you. I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye” I paused again, this time to wipe the tears from my face.
 
“Don’t worry about me though. I have met this guy and he treats me like a queen,” I paused then added, “well sometimes anyway” I said with a chuckle.
 
“But he is absolutely amazing. And I love him so much. I wish you would have been alive to see him. He is my world. My everything” I said.
 
“I miss you” I said finally.
 
“And I’m sure they miss you too sweetheart. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to get them whilst they were alive.” Kayden’s voice said behind me.
 
I smiled a small smile to myself. I was really lucky to have him.
 
“Get up, I want to show you something” he said offering me his hand yet again.
 
I took it and stood up quietly. I followed obediently as he led me to the other side of the graveyard.
 
We stopped in front of a very clean and kinda huge tombstone. I read the name and realisation set in.
 
Catherine Baker
 
Beloved mother and daughter.
 
Will greatly be missed.
 
I looked at Kayden and the pained expression on his face melted my heart. I clenched his hand reassuringly as we stood there in silence, grieving silently.
 
“Where is her mother” I asked?
 
“Leah is her mother.” He said silently.
 
No wonder he loved her like he did and no wonder she knew him so well.
 
“You are a kind man, Lord Kayden. I am lucky to have you in my life” I said with a small smile.
 
He simply looked at me with a sad smile.

I frowned at Kayden as I realised we had left the road that led home.
 
“I want you to meet Terrisa. She requested to see you the day of the ball” he said.
 
My frown deepened.
 
“Why does she want to see me?” I asked and he simply shrugged.
 
“I don’t know” he said.
 
We arrived at Terrisa’s and I wondered why someone as powerful as her chose to live in a thick and deep forest like this one.
 
“Welcome child. I thought you would have forgotten about my request” I tiny woman said.
 
She was thin and frail but she was also very vibrant. Something about her was soothing.
 
You must be Talia” she said stretching her frail hand towards me.
 
“I’ve seen and heard so much about you child. You’re welcome”
 
I smiled and shook her hand.
 
“And I have heard a lot about you too Terrisa. It’s good to finally meet you” I said.
 
She ushered us into the house and offered us seats and we sat down as we waited for her to elaborate on what this was about.
 
“I know that ya’ll are wondering why I asked you to come here and I won’t waste much of your time cause I know you need to get ready for the ball” she explained.
 
I simply nodded my head waiting for her to continue and Kayden did the same.
 
“Well, I had a vision about Kevin and Talia at the ball.” She said and I felt Kayden’s body tensing up beside me.
 
“He wants you back as his pet, and his willing to do anything. He has even consulted a powerful witch that has informed him about your feelings towards one another.”
 
No!
 
I cannot go back to that monster!
I felt Kayden squeezing my hand gently reassuring me silently.
 
“He has gotten a charm, one that will make you expose yourselves ad lovers at the ball so that the council will kill Kayden, allowing him to offer to take you over”
 
Kayden’s hand clamped h-rder against my hand.
 
“Terrisa, you have to do something” Kayden asked through clenched teeth.
 
“I can try but you’re going to have to work with me, I have a plan.” Terrisa said.

Kayden and I walked out of the house hand in hand. Terrisa plan was simple and I prayed Kevin would fall for it.
 
We entered Kayden’s car in silence.
 
“Terrisa said that whatever happens tonight, we must accept it and deal with it, together.” Kayden said ad we sat silently in the car.
 
“We’re gonna get through this, I assure you.” Kayden said once more and I smiled a small understanding smile at him.
 
God help me survive this day!!

And it’s full of so much emotions and unexpected turns. Next chapter will be even better. And BTW Catherine is Emily’s mother. In case ya’ll missed it in the previous chapter cause I only mentioned her name once.
