MY MASTER
EPISODE 2
 
TALIA
 
As we walked down the stairs of Kevin’s mansion, I felt both a sense of relief and a sense of dread washing over me. Relief that I was finally leaving this hell h0le, and dread because I feared what awaited me as Lord Keyden’s pet.
 
I scrunched my eyebrows in frustration as the word pet came to mind. I was a f-cking commodity. I walked to the car while Remy followed behind me. As I got to the car, I scanned the area trying to discern if I could get a chance to get away, make a run for it.
 
‘Do not even think about it princess.’
 
I froze. What the hell!
 
He was a f-cking mind reading vampire as well.
 
I no longer had privacy. This guy was busy reading my mind, all my thoughts had been laid bare to him.
 
I got into the car silently as Remy held the door for me. I sat down and snorted at how cliche the Lord of Vinnona was travelling in a f-cken Limo.
 
Suddenly the door on the opposite side was opened. I took in a sharp breath as Lord Kayden sat silently beside me.
 
“Where to my Lord?” Remy said through the window that separated us.
 
“Home” Kayden said and again I found myself mesmerised by his voice. Silky yet dominant.
 
Remy began driving off. And the window between us and him quickly closed. There was a suffocating silence in the car. Kayden finally broke the silence.
 
“What is your name?” He asked looking at me.
 
“Talia” I replied looking out through the window. I was not interested in conversation to be honest.
 
“Look at me when I’m talking to you, Talia” he said. With that demanding voice
 
I looked at him, although I must admit, defying his order had come to my mind, but I decided against it.
 
“My name is _”
 
I snorted before he could finish his sentence and looked back towards the window.
 
“Is there a problem, pet!” He said. His tone was clipped, but his posture was calm.
 
“Why introduce yourself when everyone already knows who you are. Save your breath , my Lord, I know who you are.” sarcasm dripped from my voice as I said the last part.
 
I was hoping he would get angry, or frustrated at least. But he surprised me by smiling. It wasn’t a full blown grin, but it was still a smile. 1
 
“Feisty, I like you already” he said.
 
“Arrogant, I hate you already” I snapped.
 
“You have a foul mouth for someone who is meant to be a Lord’s pet.”
 
“Well that settles it then, I’m not meant to be a pet. Save yourself the hassle and let me go!” I said through clenched teeth.
 
“Sweetheart, you are the perfect pet, you just haven’t had a proper master all this while. Now talk back at me one more time and I will bend you over my knee in this car and make your ass as red as your cheeks are right now”
 
My jaw dropped.
 
And my heartbeat quickened.
 
“I am being nice to you Talia, do not push it. I can be a very nasty man you know” he said lazily. He sounded so comfortable saying it, it was surreal.
 
“Why did you take me?” Suddenly the question that had been swimming through my head came out, it was unintended of course.
 
“What?” He asked with raised eyebrows.
 
I frowned at him, knowing that he had heard me fully well.
 
“Why did you take me. For such an absurd price. Its quite a high price to pay for someone you’re just gonna kill” I just couldn’t stop talking. It was like someone had opened a tap in my mouth and words were just flowing out.
 
The tensing up of Kayden’s body told me I had taken it too far, but I still couldn’t resist taking it up a notch.
 
“I heard you killed all your previous pets, why? And why…….”
 
Suddenly I was yanked by my hair, his face mere millimeters away from mine. His breath fanned against my face, and if I wasn’t so intimidated and scared, I would have found this situation rather amusing and hot.
 
“You don’t know me, pet” he seethed. “And I am trying my best to be nice to you. Stop testing me.”
 
He let go of my hair rather roughly. It wasn’t letting go really, it was more like shoving me from his face.
 
My breathing became shallow. To say I was scared is an understatement. I felt like I was gonna pee on myself. And that’s when I realised that Kayden was not like Kevin. Kevin could punish me but he could never kill me.
 
Kayden on the other hand, I wasn’t so sure.
 
Just a few seconds ago I actually felt like I was just a step away from death, and it really scared the shit outta me.
 
The rest of the car ride was silent, an uncomfortable silence. I was afraid to open my mouth. Afraid of the consequences of pushing this dangerous man any further against the wall. And in all honesty he was right, he really was trying to be nice, something I had never experienced, not even with Kevin.
 
Lost in my thoughts, I lost track of time. I only remembered I was in a car when my door was opened. I saw Remy standing there, his hand outstretched to me.
 
Jesus, does this man know I’m a pet. Why the nice treatment.
 
Not wanting to be rude, I took the man’s hand and allowed him to help me out of the car.
 
“Thank you Remy” I said almost in a whisper and he nodded. I was whispering because I didn’t know whether I was allowed to call him Remy or not.
 
I know what you’re thinking, why whisper when your Master can hear things a mile away.
 
And I’m not even going to defend my stupidity.
 
My master suddenly stood in front of me. He reached for the leash attached to my collar. I winced slightly as the movement seemed to make my collar’s grasp on my neck to tighten.
 
Out of no where, my master let go of my leash, and reached for my collar. I flinched away from him slightly out of habit, and out of fear as his threats in the car replayed in my head.
 
“I will not hurt you unless you give me a reason to Talia” his voice was back to being that smooth velvety voice I was slowly beginning to like. There was no trace whatsoever of the harsh voice that had threatened me in the car.
 
I nodded silently, suddenly afraid to speak. Kayden’s hand moved back towards my collar and unbuckled it, allowing air to rush into my lungs. He buckled it back and I was surprised to see that it now hung loosely around my neck.
 
He took hold of my leash once again, and led the way into his mansion.
 
Oh yes. The mansion, I only took notice of it then. It was beautiful, not too big and not too small. Perfect for someone who lived alone, imperfect however for someone of his status.
 
We entered and I couldn’t help but marvel at how absolutely stunning everything was. It was classic and urban at the same time, a far cry from Kevin’s keep which looked like a picture from the 19th century.
 
I followed my Master up a staircase, and I was led to a door. He opened the door and led me in.
 
“This is your room Talia”
 
I gaped at him.
 
He couldn’t be serious. It was huge, with a queen sized bed in the middle.
 
“Eeh are you sure this is the right room my Lord” I said in almost a whisper.
 
“Yes Talia. I’m sure.” He paused then continued, “you see unlike Kevin, I like my pet to be treated like a princess. As long as you’re good to me, I will be good to you.”
 
Oh my God.
 
“There is bathroom over there,” he said pointing towards it. “Go freshen up and I will send a maid with something for you to wear.” He said and released my leash before walking out.
 
This had better not be a f-cken dream cause I do not wish to wake up.

I stood in the middle of the room, my eyes wandering around in amazement. Suddenly there was a knock on my door. I panicked realising that I only had a towel wrapped around my body.
 
The doorknob turned and I almost died as the door slid open. I breathed a sigh of relief however as I realised it wasn’t my Master, but rather a small girl that looked around the age of 14 or 15 stood by the door, neatly folded clothes lay in her hands.
 
“Hie. You must be the Lord’s new pet. I’m Emily” she beamed at me whilst putting the clothes on my bed.
 
I smiled back shyly at her.
 
“Yes.” I said and paused, looking for the right words so that it did not come out offensive.
 
“Are you a human.” I finally asked.
 
“Yes. I am a human maid. And I’m not the only one.” She paused a little, “What is your name?” She asked
 
“Talia.”
 
“Well you are very lucky Talia, Lord Kayden is a very nice man. If you put aside his temper and ruthlessness of course”
 
I was about to reply her but was stopped when the door was suddenly opened. Lord Kayden stepped in, and I swear I almost swooned at how breathtaking he looked. He had removed the suit and was now clad in leather p-nts and a black t-shirt that clung mercilessly to his shoulders.
 
“Emily. What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be in bed” he said.
 
“I’m sorry Kayden. I was just so eager to meet Talia” she said almost squealing.
 
Kayden chuckled and the fact that she had called him Kayden and not Lord Kayden did not go unnoticed.
 
“Well you will have more time with her tomorrow. But right now Talia and I need to talk, and you need to be in bed”
 
“Yes dad!” She said sarcastically turned to me.
 
“Goodnight Talia”
 
“Goodnight Emily”
 
She walked, no, she stomped out, actually shoving Kayden out of the way as she passed him.
 
He simply chuckled.
 
What the hell was going on?!
 
Suddenly awareness dawned on me as I realised I was alone with Kayden, wrapped in nothing but a towel.
 
“You might wanna put some clothes on Talia” he murmured not looking at me.
 
I nodded and blushed furiously for a reason I absolutely did not know.
 
I grabbed the clothes Emily had brought for me.
 
I ran into the walk in closet that was literally empty. I sighed as I realised the clothes Emily had brought for me consisted of a pyjama pair of shorts and a tank top. I wore them reluctantly deciding it was better than a towel and walked back into the room.
 
Kayden was sitting at the edge of my bed. His hands resting lazily on his knee, his head hung low. He lifted his head and looked at me. I simply could not get over how absolutely delicious he looked.
 
He stood up and walked towards me. I froze.
 
He stopped just millimetres away from me and his head dropped down to my ear.
 
“I’m glad you think I look delicious. Maybe I might let you taste one day” he whispered.
 
He moved back to the bed and I was left there, a f-cking blushing mess.
 
Stupid mind reading vampire!!!
