##CHRIS’S POV##
“Gibson?” I called out again to be sure he really is the one in front of me
No wonder he took utmost interest in the SWEET JINGLE FIVE’s case
No wonder he played along
No wonder he offered to stay with Jade even when he had every reason to back off and give her space
“yeah I was in the orphanage too but you did not recognize me immediately we met cus I did recognize you even if it has been ages” he said smiling while he sat on the arm chair close to David who just watched us without spewing anything
“i..i..don’t understand. Like why did you help me? Why did you help Jade? Why didn’t you get mad at us and just leave us alone?” for as much as I could remember, Gibson and I weren’t in good terms during our late stay in the orphanage
“yeah, I know right? I had every reason to leave, every reason to back off especially when Jade had you come into the picture right?”
“yeah” i said and shook my head seconding it.
“you want to know the truth my friend? Like nothing but the truth?”
“yeah.”
“then let’s….” Gibson stopped in mid sentence as he dropped his head down and raised it again “I think you should meet someone” he turned towards the door “please come in”
A lady walked in,side and I could swear on my life that I have seen her before… somewhere
“hey Chris” she called out smiling nervously and I could see the shocked expression on David’s face which he quickly wiped away, replacing it with a forced smile. But why?
It was her the lady that helped me get out of the building… the lady that helped Jade out too… the lady that gave us a blueprint… this same lady had a resemblance with someone I knew before
I kept my gaze fixed at her, not minding the fact that I had not said a word to her. I just stared on as an idea hit me!
I took the pictures which were sitting on my body and scanned through, flipping them backwards till I got to the picture which Gibson and I were already grown teenagers
And she was there! She was at the same orphanage! She snapped in the same photo as I and Gibson and the fair skinned girl, She worked for that Lady! She worked for the guy who gave me a job!
She was the same person Jade talked about! Oh my… what’s the name again?
I cracked my brain over and over again till I found the s₱0t that I had kept it
“Dess? Are you Dess?” I asked with my eyes w¡dened hoping whatever calculations my head just made, was worth it
“yes. I am Dess and I was at the orphanage with and Gibson” she walked over and sat beside David
Like this wh0le thing is getting me confused.
Why didn’t her face ring a bell the day I saw her at the building?
Who did the fair skinned girl interlock hands with Gibson?
Why didn’t we look mall happy in the other picture?
Why was I and Gibson missing from the last picture?
Who really is the lady Dess worked for?
Why did she work with the other guy?
Why do they want Jade?
Why were they after her?
Where is Jade?
Why do I have such an expensive lawyer?
My brain and I were on their own world, lost in thought
Thinking of all the whys and I didn’t hear all what they were saying anymore
“Chris are you okay?” I heard my head ask me and I blinked twice which made me realize it wasn’t my head but the voice of David
“yeah” I nodded
“come on, let’s go see Jade. We’ll explain everything there” Gibson announced as if he read my thoughts perfectly.
The doctor walked in and checked me, my pulse and heart rate. He said my PCV was back to normal and
they could take me
“but you’ll have to brink him here tomorrow for his therapy session”
“who the f–k pays for all that?” Gibson was forced to ask
“I do” David said and I shot him a glare which he returned.
Immediately, I knew there was more to that look but I was going to take care of it later.
They helped me into the wheel chair and drove me out of the hospital with my lawyer slowly walking behind us…….

I remember every d–n thing
From the moment I saw Gibson that morning to the day my lawyer walked into my room to minutes ago when Dess came in. I know and remember everything.
And you want to know what else I know? Gibson had this wh0le thing planned!

##DAVID’S POV##
Chris hasn’t remembered yet?
I mean most people don’t forget this aspect of their life
I have been Chris’s lawyer for about a decade now and I’m kindda happy he doesn’t recognize me.
As Gibson and the doctor tried taking Chris out of the wheel chair and placing him in the car, I got a call
And you won’t believe who it is
I withdrew from their midst and went aside to receive the call.
“what else have you gathered?” she asked me from the other end of the call
“everything you need Madam”
“bring the recordings to me in an hour time and do not let suspect a thing” she ordered
“yes madam”
Before I could say anything else, she ended the call.
You wouldn’t blame me. I had to do this, for reasons you’ll soon find.
I got into the car, sat beside Chris while Dess and Gibson were at the front.
Gibson changed the gear and speed off, with the music slowly emitting from the stereo. Everyone was dead silent which was really bad for my job.
We got to the hospital and I had a call from her again
“you bastard! Report here immediately.” She yelled and hung up
I knew it was the coke driving her to speak that way and I knew more than wasting time in meeting her up.
With her tone and harshness, I could tell something was wrong and it was Dess!
“I have an emergency to attend to. I’ll see you around tomorrow mister Chris” I said and we were walking on the hallway
“you wanna leave now?” Gibson asked me “I mean, you have some job to run here” he said stopping to look at me
“let him go” Chris said which brought in cold breeze into my spine
“I’ll see you around” I said and left, I was even becoming uncomfortable around that Gibson of a guy.
And Dess? What an ungrateful child she is!

Season 2, Episode 22
##Chris’s POV##
David walked briskly out of our sight, his movement as hastily as an ostrich
Dess rolled my chair into Jade’s ward. But just before getting in, we heard them discussing which happened to be about Madam Betty.
“but why is she young? Like it’s been long now but she still looks young and entirely different from the person I’m seeing here in this picture” her voice was heard in,side as we flew the door open and entered, Gibson telling her all about his findings he had made on Madam Betty
“Oh my God! Chris is that you?” Jade yelled excitedly as she ran to hug me. I reciprocated immediately, I can’t lie that I haven’t missed her.
My mind has always been all around her for the wh0le time that I’ve been in the hospital.
“oh dear I thought I had lost you. Gibson said you died, he lied to me” she said over my shoulders and I could feel her tears dropping on my shoulders
“are you seriously going to soak my nice shirt with your tears again?” I teased, bringing her head away from my shoulders to meet her puffy eyes
“i.. I’m sorry” she said, sniffing in and cleaning her eyes at the same time.
Everyone just looked at us, we were the only one talking in the room and doing the drama.
“what happened to you babe?” she asked me after pushing my wheel closer to her bed and sitting right in front of me
“tell her Gib” I turned to look at the jealously staring Gibson who stood with Dess by the door
“I thought you guys didn’t get along well. The last time I checked, you fought on our last meeting” she said with a brow raised
“oh that’s nothing. It happens all the time to friends right?” I said and Gibson chuckled as he walked closer, holding Dess with him
“oh Dess. You came” Jade got up and went over to hug her.
“I’m really sorry Jade, I.. i.. didn’t know what I wanted to do. I didn’t know how to get away from Betty. She’s too strong. She will come for me” I heard Dess say amidst her sobs
“hey come on! We won’t allow that. We’re going to fight together right?” Jade asked and we responded in unison “right”…
“I’m going to help you. I’ll give you all the information you need. Please just don’t make her take me away anymore” Dess was still crying. Who wouldn’t be scared? When you escape away from the cage of a lion and it’s still opened, you should expect the lion coming after you.
As they disengaged from the hug, Dess sat down beside a girl whom Jade introduced to be her sister. And a woman who stared blankly at me this wh0le time as her mother. Her mother just wouldn’t take her eyes off me. Although I haven’t met her before, she seemed to dislike me. She had been all quiet and uncomfortable.
“nice to meet you ma. Hope you’re feeling fine” I asked, pushing my wheel myself to meet her.
On getting to her, she smiled for the first time “I’m fine Chris, how are you? Heard you’re my daughter’s boyfriend” she said looking straight at me, it was supposed to be a compliment, but somehow, I felt otherwise with the way she said it
“mooom!” Jade whined which forced everyone else to laugh in the room
“yes ma’am. I’m her boyfriend, don’t tell me your mother didn’t know about me this wh0le time Jade” I turned to her, pouting
“I’ve never had time to tell her.”
“how about you do the intro now?” I wriggled my brows which made her chuckle.
“yes mom. This is Chris Hales my boyfriend. He’s helped a lot during the times you’ve been away. He helped me get away from Betty. This is Gibson, my detective he’s also done a lot during the times you were in the hospital, he has helped a lot too and this is Dess my friend, she was the major person who helped me in escaping away from Betty’s adoption, she actually worked for her. Everyone, meet my mum Mrs. Sarah and my sister Lizzy” Jade introduced as she was smiling all through.
Even with the fact that she had bandages all over like her legs, arms, and head, her beauty was still very pronounced and although I was looking at her as she said all those things, I couldn’t help but stare at this beauty in front of me.
Her blue hazel eyes, blonde hair, and perfectly small curved l-ips could even be seen gloriously in the dark, and to top it all, she had the perfect shape any guy could wish for.
I stared at her, smiling alongside imagining how our wedding night would be like
“so what’s the next step? We really need to get to the bottom of this so we can all have our freedom” Lizzy said
“yes. Chris where are the pictures? ” Gibson asked, trying to show off his detective skill which I chuckled to
“what?” he asked
“it’s nothing” I kept on smiling till it dawned on me that I didn’t have the pictures with me
“i.. i.. can’t find them”. I said as I looked all over “I’ll go check the car” Dess volunteered but Jade countEr×¢ted
“no, you shouldn’t do that. You are more at risk here. I’ll go” Jade stood up but before I could say I wanted to go instead, Gibson spoke first
“I’ll go instead” he said and I shot him a glare, he saw it and laughed before moving out, and away from the room….
