Chapter 71 :- Battle of strength

Nancy left without any hesitation and as soon as she was gone, I left the bedroom and headed to my children’s room to check on them. As expected, the girls were still asleep by the time I got into the room. In that moment, I summoned one of my shadow minions to make breakfast for them in case they wake up. After that, I left the room and teleported away.

Hours later, here I was in the 666 lounge sitting in my office when Aunt Jezebel popped in. She looked somewhat disturbed which made it easy for to guess that something was wrong.
After taking her seat, Aunt Jezebel poured herself a drink before talking to me.

Jezebel ➡ Rose, we have a problem.

Rose ➡ What kind of problem?

Jezebel ➡ Its Evlyn. She’s making a move.

Rose ➡ I can see that. I’m pretty sure she was the one behind that rain of fire.

Jezebel ➡ That’s not the only thing she did. Why haven’t you been showing up in the council?

Rose ➡ I was busy dealing with some private matters.

Jezebel ➡ Private matters? I know you’ve been busy with your husband during these last few days.

Rose ➡ Just tell me what I’ve missed.

Jezebel ➡ Tsunburbura and a handful of our sisters and brothers in other parts have been killed. I have a feeling that she’s trying to recruit powerful beings to join her. I have a feeling she might come for you.

Rose ➡ It’s surely an honor to have Evlyn’s attention but I won’t join.

Jezebel ➡ She will kill you if you refuse.

Rose ➡ Well, let her try.

Jezebel ➡ Don’t get cocky niece. You’re no match her for. If only you had seen what she did to Orisaye and the others in that meeting. It was humiliating.

Jezebel ➡ We can’t trust anyone. Let’s just assume that everyone has joined Evlyn. What we need to do now is hide Ebinoluwa and stay put.

Jezebel ➡ No.. You said it yourself that Mephistoph said that she doesn’t stand a chance.

Rose ➡ She won’t be fighting alone.

Jezebel ➡ NO! I don’t like this. Ebinoluwa must stay hidden. Do you understand what will happen if everyone knows that Ebinoluwa is an infinite witch?

Words couldn’t describe how pissed I was in that moment, I didn’t see why we should hide from Evlyn when we already have the solution to our problem. I’m not afraid to die and I certainly won’t some ancient witch force me to chicken out. In that moment, I grabbed myself a glass and a bottle of wine pouring myself a drink and the moment I took a sip, I felt a horrible taste in my mouth and spat it out. Out of annoyance, I threw the glass cup and grabbed the bottle of wine smashing it to pieces. Aunt Jezebel stared at me and said nothing until I was done.

Jezebel ➡ I take it the wine was awful.

Rose ➡ It wasn’t supposed to taste like that.

Jezebel ➡ Well, there’s only one explanation for this. You’re pregnant.

Rose ➡ WHAT?

Suddenly just before I could get over my shock, my daughter Sara appeared from with the shadows in my office looking a bit troubled and she didn’t waste anytime to tell me what was going on.

Sara ➡ Mommy, there’s trouble back at home.
.

Rose ➡ What trouble?
.

Sara ➡ Dad is in danger. Some strange mermaid and her gang came home asking for you. Mommy, their blood lust is insane. Dad is going to die if you don’t do something.

Rose ➡ Don’t worry. Where’s Helen?
.

Sara ➡ She’s with daddy.
.

Rose ➡ Stay here. Aunty look after her. Somebody is going to die today.

Most people believe that being rich makes one feel good about themselves which is true but in some cases, there’s no greater feeling that having hours of amazing s-x with a hot and attractive wife and then waking up with a morning flag pole in the morning.

So presently after waking up from my sleep, I sat up in bed yawning for a while before realizing that I was alone, Rose’s bed space was empty and there was no sign of her. Gradually, I managed to get myself out of the bed and left the room to check on my kids and by the time I got there, I l noticed that they were awake and watching one horror classic * the Wrong turn * on their IPad . It always amazes me how they watched such an horrific movie at their age. Most kids would have run away from the screen by now.
Having sensed my presence, the girls turn around and greeted me before gluing their eyes back on the screen. I decided to let them be and head back to my room. Time passed quickly as the girls and I sat at home, I tried my best to spend some quality time with them but they didn’t give me the chance to. They occupied themselves with one thing or other leaving me alone to myself.
Hours later in the evening as I was sitting comfortably in the living room, the girls approached and begged me to take them out to someplace fun which I agreed. Luckily for me, I had some nice clothes on so there was no need for me to change. However before the girls and I could leave the house, we got an unexpected visit. While I was waiting for the girls to get prepared, there was a knock on the door and as I approached the door trying to open it, I felt this sudden chill that made my body to twitch uncomfortably. In that moment, I heard another knock and despite how uncomfortable I was, I decided to be tactical and cautious.

Lionel ➡ Who is it?

Xeira ➡ I’m looking for Rose. Is she around?
.

Lionel ➡ Answer my question first. Who are you?
.

Xeira ➡ I can’t. Not until you open the door.
.

Lionel ➡ I don’t open doors for strangers. If you want to talk to my wife, I can tell you where she might be.
.

After that statement, there was a long awkward silence from the stranger which made me feel even more uncomfortable and judging from the lovely voice, It was clear that the stranger’s a lady. At first, I thought that lady was gone but then suddenly something unexpected occurred. In a twinkle of an eye, the door was smashed and slammed into my face. I was stunned and sent flying across the room, it took a while for me to recover and by the time I got back to my senses, I saw a very bewitching lady staring down at me but despite her beauty, there was something sinister about her. Her eyes were cold and filled with evil gaze that made my spine shiver with fear. After a close observation, I figured out she was a mermaid like Nancy so I did all I could not to have direct eye contact with her cause I’ve had a full lesson of what mermaid looks does to a human.

Lionel ➡ What’s the meaning of this?

Xeira ➡ So this is pitiful shack that the all mighty Rose lives in and you must be her husband. (Laughs)

Lionel ➡ You’d better live now cause if she finds out that you’re here.. It won’t end well for you.

Xeira ➡ You fool! Is that supposed to frighten me? It’s quite surprising for a witch like Rose who utterly hates humans to marry and procreate with one. It’s just sad, really.

Lionel ➡ What do you want?

Xeira ➡ I want your wife. Where is she?

Lionel ➡ She’s not here.
.

Xeira ➡ Well, since she’s not here. I’m going to have some fun with you like I did with your brother. You’re Riley’s brother, aren’t you?

In that very moment, I stared at the mermaid in shock as she told me that. She was the one called Xeira. The princess mermaid that gave Riley and Christen a hard time. In that moment, I began to sweat in that moment not because I was afraid but because of the girls. They were upstairs and their lives were also in danger. However my fears were confirmed when Helen unexpected showed up and stood on the stairs attracting our attention.

Helen ➡ Daddy.

Lionel ➡ Helen.. Get back into your room. Stay away.
.

Xeira ➡ Oh my.. So that’s Rose’s daughter. I hear that she has twins. Such a cutie.

Helen ➡ Daddy, is this fish hurting you?

Xeira ➡ Little brat. Who are you calling a fish? (Heading towards Helen)

Lionel ➡ HELEN, RUN!!

As crazy as this was, I rushed in and tried to tackle Xeira so that she wouldn’t touch my daughter but before I could even lay a finger on her, she instantly clutched my throat tightly as if she’s going to rip it out. Despite giving my all to break free, my strength was no match for Xeira who’s claws were gradually sinking in my flesh. Just when I thought that I was going to be strangled to death, Helen came to my rescue by cutting off Xeira’s hand with her web. Seeing the mermaid yell in pain made my heart leap with joy but then I became worried knowing what would happen next.
However before things could get worst, something occurred turning things around instantly.

Xeira ➡ ARRRGGHH!! MY HAND. You little brat, I’m going to skin you alive and feed your carcass to my sharks.

Helen ➡ It’s too late for that now. Mommy is here.

Xeira ➡ WHAT?

Just like Helen said, Rose had arrived but her entrance was a bit too extreme and bloody. Like a bull in a China shop, Rose emerged into the room from the shadows bringing with her some kind of winged shadow creatures which scattered the house. Xeira’s followers were taken down instantly but not her. In fact, Xeira handled the situation by bringing out some kind of whip made of water and began to slash the shadow monsters.
Despite Xeira’s defensive effort, Rose struck her hard by hitting her with some dark juju that gave out an explosive impact. Half of the house was destroyed by that juju and Xeira was sent flying out of the house.

Lionel ➡ Thank goodness, you’re here.
.

Rose ➡ Where’s Helen?
.

Helen ➡ I’m here. Don’t worry I’m safe.
.

Rose ➡ (sighs) Are you alright hon?
.

Lionel ➡ Yeah although I nearly got my throat ripped out. Let’s get out of here.
.

Rose ➡ No.. That b-tch dared to come to our house and put her hands on you. She’s going to die.

Lionel ➡ Honey, don’t forget what my brother and your sister went through.
.

Rose wasn’t pleased about what I said, she glared at me viciously but then she calmed down and yanked me towards her pressing one of her claws in my midsection.

Rose ➡ Are doubting my strength?

Lionel ➡ No.
.

Rose ➡ Do you think that I’m going to fail.. Hmm?

Lionel ➡ No.. I’m just worried about you.
.

Rose ➡ Just worry about what I’m going to do to you when I’m done with that b-tch. Helen, look after your father, I’ll be right back.
