🍂 Daphne’s POV 🍂

It’s been 2 days and Liam is still unconscious and he’s still so cold

I was sitting on the ground with Liam’s head on my laps

What is wrong with him

What’s going on

“Liam I miss you” I said as tears rolled from my eyes and dropped on his cheeks

🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂

I felt something drop on my cheeks and I cleaned

It was a drop of water

But where did the water come from cause it isn’t raining

“Liam I missed you” I had a voice say and I looked around but saw no one

Anyway,
The dinner is over and Aurelia has already gone in,side the palace

Turns out Aurelia is really fun to be with

We talked alot
Laughed a lot
And we are friends now
And we agreed to hang out while she’s still here

I was about going home when I heard Hera’s voice

“Kal!” She called running towards

I looked around as if looking for someone “sorry were you talking to me” I said to Hera

“Come on Kal what’s wrong” she asked

“What’s the point of making me come to the dinner when were going to ignore me the wh0le time, am sure you didn’t even notice my absence during the dinner”

“Am really sorry Kal, unexpectedly this dinner wasn’t so boring like the other Royal dinners I’ve attended” she said

“What!, You enjoyed it?” I asked

“Of course, you didn’t enjoy it?” She asked and I scoffed

“If not for Aurelia, I’d have died of the boringness”

“Aurelia?, You mean the Countess’s daughter?” She asked

“Yes, she’s an amazing girl and we are friends now”

“I don’t like her Liam, I don’t like her family so stay away from her” Hera said in a harsh voice and walked back into the palace

What’s wrong with her
She’s never spoken to me like that

“Maybe she’s just tired” I shrugged as I found my way out of the palace

🍂 Daphne’s POV 🍂

The door opened and she came in

My Mom

“Is he getting better?” He asked pointing at Liam and I shook my head and she sighed

“Still, you should eat something, you’ve been starving yourself Daphne” she stopped and I kept quiet

“Tell me if there’s something you want to eat, I’ll get it for you” she said and I looked at her

“Yes, you can tell me” she said

“Who’s my father?” I asked and she suddenly looked pale

“Please tell me, I’ve always wanted to know about both my biological parents”

“He… John Grey, that was his name” she said

“Is he…. Alive?” I asked

“No, he was killed by the Soul Hunters” she said

“He knew you were Cursed?” I asked

“Yes”

“How did you manage being around him?” I asked

“John was different, he was impassive and good at controlling his emotions, whenever I was with him, the pain was there but it wasn’t much and with time I got used to it, like I felt nothing at all” she said and I nodded not saying a word

I don’t know if should pity her or get angry with her

“You must be feeling uncomfortable in my presence, I’ll leave now” she said as she stood up and started walking towards the door

“I’ve…. I’ve always wanted to eat veggie burgers with the woman that gave birth to me” I said and turned back and smiled

“I’ll get it” she said and left the room while I smiled

🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂

I waited outside as Hera’s handmaid went to call her from her room

It’s been days after the dinner night but I’ve not spoken to Hera since then

Though I still spend time with Aurelia and I like her, she’s amazing and we have a lot things in common

She came out wearing her usual long flowing gown

“What’s it?” She asked holding her arms

“Come on Hera, what’s wrong?” I asked

“Nothing” she said

“Hera”

“Fine, I told you to stop seeing Aurelia but you keep meeting her!” she yelled

“Why should I stop meeting her?” I asked

“Because I don’t like her” she said

“Why don’t you like her?” I asked

“Cause of her Mom” she said

“And what’s wrong with her Mom”

“She likes my Dad!” She yelled

“What!”

“Yes, mother told me that Dad and the Countess were childhood lovers but because of an arranged marriage by the Countess’s father, she was married of to Darcia against her wish and that’s how she got separated from my Dad”

“But… But Hera that’s in the past, am sure she have no feelings for your Dad now” I said

“She does Kal, it’s obvious, she always acts so decent and cool in front of Dad”

“That’s because he’s the king”

“No, she has some evil intentions Kal, I can sense it. And again, she said she only came on a brief visit but it’s been days and she’s still here, she doesn’t want to leave” she said

“Okay, let’s assume you are right, then you should only hate the Countess and not Aurelia” I said

“Not when she can be involved in her Mom’s plans” I said

“That’s not possible, she’s an amazing girl” I said

“What?!” She asked surprised

“Yeah, she’s beautiful, nice, intelligent, she hates boring places and likes to just like me, she’s amazing”

“You…. You’ve never complimented me like that” she said

“Come on, why will I compliment you to your face, I’ll always compliment you behind your back just like am doing for Aurelia now” I said

“I just don’t like her and I want you to stop seeing her” she said and I sighed

Hera can be really stubborn sometimes

“Okay” I said

“Really?” She asked and I nodded

“I love you Kal” she said happily as she hugged me

“Hey, stop it, someone might think you really mean that” I said

“But I mean…”

“Princess Hera” her handmaid called as she walked up to us

“The Queen requests your presence” the handmaid said

“I guess I have to go now, see you later Kal” she said and walked in with the maid

Why is Hera always so possessive

Right from childhood, she never let me hang out with any girl

What am you thinking Kal, of course she likes you as a friend

I was walking out of the palace then I heard someone call

“Kal!”

I turned to see Aurelia running towards me

“Are you okay?” She asked “you seem disturbed”

“Am not disturbed” I said

“You are, remember I know what a person is feeling whenever am near them” she said and I smiled

She looks really beautiful again today

With her small face and l-ips, long hair and hazel eyes, she’s beautiful

“You are admiring me right now” she said with a smile

“Aisshh, this is not fair at all, you always know what am feeling and I have no idea about yours, it’s totally not fair” I said and she stared at me

“What’s it?” I asked but she just kept staring at me

“Okay, I know a way I can permanently block your feelings from mine, then we’ll be even and no one will have an advantage over the other” she said

“Really?” I asked and she nodded

“Wait for me let me get some things, then we’ll go over to your place and I’ll block your feelings from me” she said

“Okay” I said and she ran back their quarter in the Palace

I smiled as I watched her run

Hera is definitely wrong about her

🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂

Aurelia came back with a small pouch

“Let’s go” she said and I nodded

We walked to my place and we were there in no time cause it isn’t really far from the palace

We went in,side and Dad and Mom was at home

Aurelia greeted them and they were surprised to see her

They talked for sometimes before my parents left us alone

“Can we go somewhere more free?” She asked “like outside?”

“Okay” I said and took her to the back of the house where we planted some flowers

“Your garden is beautiful” she said and I smiled

“Okay now stand there” she said pointing at a s₱0t and I obeyed

She took her pouch and sprinkled some white powder round the place I was standing in a circle

“Have you ever done this before?” I asked

“No, this is the first time am blocking someone’s feelings from myself” she replied

“Then how did you learn how to do this?”

“Dad did it for Mom when she complained about that always being aware of her feelings, she said she wanted to have a little privacy” Aurelia said

“Oh your Mom didn’t have the power of knowing people’s emotions?” I asked

“Yeah, I got the power from my Dad” she said

“But I hope this isn’t dangerous, if it is you can leave it” I said

“No it’s not dangerous, it’s just like putting a permanent barrier round your Soul, then I won’t be able to feel your emotions and not just me, no one will be able to feel your emotions” she said and I nodded

“Are you scared of fire?” She asked

“Uhmm….. Maybe” I replied

“Just don’t move an inch and don’t be afraid” she said and I nodded

She knelt beside the white powder circle and chanted some things and then a fire lit, gradually growing round the circle

She stood up and her her words started becoming louder as the fire started growing higher too and I was starting to feel hot

“quod «anima tua mittet in circuitu eius usque in aeternum permanens ad te pertinet, i magni obice circa ones ut audiat me!!” She chanted and immediately she ended what she was saying, the fire stopped

I looked at her amazed

“You can leave there now” she said and a came out of the burnt powder circle

“Can you think of something, like I don’t know… Feel something” she said

“Well am feeling really surprised and amazed right now” I said

“Wow!!” She smiled “I can’t feel it, I can’t feel your emotions, it worked” she said and I smiled

“Now I can think and feel whatever I want” I said

“But that doesn’t you should start having some perverted thoughts about me” she said

“Even if I do, that’s not your business” I said and she didn’t say anything but standing walking closer to me

“What is it now?” I asked but she just kept walking closer

Before I knew what was happening, she poured the remaining white powder in her pouch over my head, sticked out her and started running

“Aurelia!!!” I yelled as I ran after her

The moon is out and Aurelia already went back to the palace

Mom and Dad was suddenly summoned by the King so am alone at home

I laid down in the garden looking at the sky but I was thinking of the moment I spent with Aurelia today with a smile on my face

“Kal” I heard a whisper and I looked around to see Hera

“Hey what are you doing here?” I asked as I sat up

“I sneaked out of the palace” she said as she sat beside me

“Why, you know you are not allowed to go outside the palace” I said

“I know, I just have a really good news and I wanted to share it with you” she said

“What’s it” I asked

“Some prince from a distant kingdom came to ask for my hand in my marriage today but I turned him down..”

“So that’s the good news, you’ve been turning down everyone that has ever wanted to marry you” I said

“That’s not the good news Kal, let me finish what am saying first” she said and I nodded

“So Dad asked me if I have anyone in mind since am always refusing everyone that wants to marry and I told him yes”

“Really!, You like someone and you didn’t tell your best friend” I said

“Am telling you now so just listen” she said “Dad told me to just tell me who the person is that he will get me married to him so I told him you are the one I like”

“Me?!” I asked surprised

“Yes, I sincerely like you Kal and that’s why your parents were called to the palace, probably to discuss about the marriage” Hera said

“What!!!”

“What’s it, are you not happy?” Hera asked

“Why would I be happy, I never said I want to marry you” I said

“What?!!” She said surprised

“You are only my friend Hera that’s all, I didn’t expect you to like me”

“Friend?, since I was a kid you were the only person I had to play with and as we grew up I started to get attached to you since you were the only male I mingled with, my heart isn’t made of stone Kal, anyone will fall in love with you in this kind of situation and am sure you love me too, you just need time to accept it” she said with a tender voice and I kept quiet

“Am I that bad? Or is it that am ugly? Am I that useless that you don’t want us to be together?” She asked sadly and I felt hurt

“That’s not it Hera, of course you are good, beautiful, you aren’t useless and I like you….”

“Then you are agree to the marriage?” She quickly asked and I sighed

“Yes” I said

“Really” she asked excited

“Yes” I repeated and she quickly hugged me

“I love you Kal” she said

🍂 Daphne’s POV 🍂

The door opened and she came in with the burgers on a plate

“I got it from a nearby restaurant” she said as she placed it in front of me

“No improvement?” She asked referring to Liam and I nodded

“You should eat” she said and turned to leave

“I… I wanted to eat with you” I said and she stopped and turned back

“Daphne” she called slowly “am I afraid if I come too close to you I would loose the courage to do what must done” she said and left the room

I couldn’t help as tears to rolled down my face

Everything is a mess

🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂

It’s morning and tonight is my wedding with Hera
Am at home most of the time as my parents are busy with the wedding preparations

Hera comes sometimes to hang out with me and it’s nice talking to her but am just not happy about the marriage but I don’t want to hurt Hera’s feeling

I haven’t been hanging out with Aurelia too since I don’t go to the palace anymore

“Kal!” Mom called “you have a visitor”

I wonder who it is

I stood up and went out only to see…
“Aurelia!” I called aloud

“What’s going on with you, you haven’t been coming to the palace” she said but I said nothing

It’s nice seeing her again, I feel like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders

“Do you mind if we go out and have a drink?” She asked and I nodded

“Mom am going out for a bit” I yelled cause she was at the back of the house

“Make sure to come back early, tonight’s is your wedding after all” she yelled back

“Its just for a bit, I’ll be back early” I said

“Let’s go” I said to Aurelia and she smiled

We went to a tarven and we ordered some ale

It was brought to us and we started drinking

“I think the King and my Mom are still in love” Aurelia said

“What made you think so” I asked

“I felt it, I felt there emotions and am afraid” she said

“Why?” I asked

“Mom can be really possessive, she doesn’t like sharing what she likes with anybody even if it’s not hers, I just hope she doesn’t do anything irrational” she said

“You Mom won’t do anything bad, everything will be fine” I said and she nodded

“I heard you are getting married to Hera tonight” she said and I nodded

There was silence for some moments before she talked again

“Why?” She asked and I looked at her

“Sorry, am just…. I wasn’t happy when I heard it” she said said as we drank more of the ale

“Why weren’t you happy?” I asked

“Well…. I don’t think you love her and I don’t know.. I just felt sad” she said

“I don’t know too, I just don’t want to hurt her feelings” I said and she nodded

We continued drinking and I was starting to get tipsy

“I think we should stop drinking or we won’t be able to walk out of here today” I said

“Am… Am fine” Aurelia said as she continued drinking and I just stared at her

It’s obvious she’s getting drunk but she still look so beautiful

Aurelia got really drunk and I had to carry her back to her quarters in the palace

Strangely, no one was in front of the palace as I went it, seems luck is on my side cause if Hera sees me carrying Aurelia she’ll definitely get angry

It was really hærd to get Aurelia to her quarters considering the fact that am kinda drunk too

I opened the door and it seems her Mom wasn’t in

I managed to walk to one of the rooms and I dropped her on the bed but I fell on top her too

I wanted to stand up but I couldn’t, my eyes locked with Aurelia’s and we kept staring at each other

Then she k-ssed me and I gasped, I was taken by surprise

But I couldn’t stop myself as k-ssed her back too

I opened my eyes and my head throbbed

Where am I?

I noticed Aurelia sleeping beside and she was… She was unclad just like me

“Oh no oh no” I said and I quickly stood up as the memories started rushing in

I slept with her, I slept with Aurelia

The door suddenly opened and Hera came in with a knife on her hand but m she was shocked at what she saw, even I am shocked too

“What’s going on here!!!” She yelled and Aurelia woke up

Her eyes were already red, seems she cried before coming here but tears streamed down her face again

“Kal” Hera called “What’s going on?” She asked

“I… Am sorry Hera, we were both drunk” I managed to say

“Drunk?!!” She yelled “I came here with the intention of killing you Aurelia cause the Countess just killed my Mom, I caught her as she stabbed my Mom in her room but Dad stopped me from killing the Countess though she was arrested, but I wasn’t okay, I came here to take something precious away from the Countess too and this is what I meet? Why did this have to happen to me on my special day? why did you do this to me Kal, I trusted you” she said as tears ran down her face but then she quickly cleaned it “you will regret this forever, both of you” she said and ran out

I slowly walked back home

What is happening?
What have I done?

I got home and my parents weren’t at home
I guess they went to the Palace since they Queen has been killed

Hera must be in so much pain and I can’t help her
All I did was add to her pain

Night came and the moon was out but my parents weren’t back yet

I want to go to the Palace but I can’t just bring myself to go back there, I feel guilty, on a normal circ-mstances, I should be getting married to her now

Moments later, Mom ran into the house p-nting

“What’s wrong Mom?” I asked

“Hera” she managed to say

“What’s wrong with her?” I asked getting scared

“She suddenly disappeared but she was just found with a knife, she’s about to kill herself” Mom said and I was shocked

“Where is she Mom?!”

“At the centre of the kingdom, in front of the Willow tree” she said and I quickly ran out of the house

Wait for me Hera
Please don’t kill yourself
Please

It started raining and I ran as fast as I can and soon I was there

There was a crowd in front of the Willow tree and I shuffled through it to front only to see Hera drenched in the rain and standing right in front of the Willow tree

She was with a knife and…. she’s wearing the goddess’s diadem

The people were were begging her not to kill herself, Aurelia was there too but she wasn’t saying anything, she looked like she cried alot

“Hera!” I called and she looked at me “please don’t this” I begged and she scoffed

“I told you that you’ll regret it forever, both of you” she said pointing at Aurelia

“You can do whatever you want to us but please don’t kill yourself” I begged

“I’ve thought hærd on how to punish both of you, if I kill you that won’t be enough for me, do you think am just killing myself? Am using my Soul as a sacrifice Kal, a sacrifice to Curse you both” she said

“What!!” I said surprised

She looked at Aurelia “The Hills has taken a lot from me, my Mom, the man am supposed to marry, they ruined my wedding day” she said in tears “Am Cursing the Hills generation, forever the Hills shall know no peace, your powers will be turned against you people, you shall experience the highest pain possible, your lineage won’t end easily, the Hills shall continue procreating and the Curse will go on forever, I call on the Animae mea Venatores to help me out with this Curse!” She said and there was rumbling of thunder as the rainfall seemed to increase

She looked at me sadly “I must be a fool, I want to Curse all your generations but I can’t bring myself to do that so instead I Curse you, I Curse your Soul, you will never enjoy the comfort of family, nothing will ever go right for you and when you die, you shall have no peace, your Soul won’t be accepted into the underworld and it shall roam around the Earth but every every 500 years, your Soul shall find a body, you shall be reborn and the Curse continues that way forever”

“Hera, please, please don’t do this, don’t Curse us forever please” I begged and she looked at me pitifully

“In tantum ut conteram Maledictum Maledictum promptus est sacrificium de Anima sub luna plena, I am Princess Hera, an incarnate of goddess Hera, I hold her spirit and with that power, I Curse you both for eternity” she said and stabbed herself

Then everywhere became black

“I am you” I heard a voice whisper and I gasped as I woke up
