Evelyn’s POV
.
The scre-m we heard from outside jolted us up and we wondered what happened.
” What was that?” Sarah asked.
” Isn’t that Anna?” I asked.
” Let’s go” Sarah said then we all rushed out of the room.
.
We ran to the living room and saw Anna and Dad with Betty on floor in a pool of blood.
” OhmyGod….. Betty” I shouted rushing to her.
” What happened?” I asked.
” I don’t know…..I just saw her here on the ground” Anna replied.
” Hurry, Get me the First Aid kit” dad requested and I ran to the kitchen to grab it then came back.
” What’s going on?” Mom asked coming down from the stairs then saw what Happened.
” OhGod ……what the hell happened to her?” She shouted then came hovering around her.
It’s the first time I’ll ever see my mother caring so much about someone else beside her son.
” Hold her still…..let me try and stop the bleeding” dad said.
” Can someone just answer me?” Mom requested.
” Can we just focus here?….we will deal with that later” dad said as he continue with the stitches.
” Is she going to be alright?” Bella asked crying already along with the others.
” She’s going to be fine……you don’t have to worry…….she will be fine” I said to them.
” That should do it……that should stop the bleeding…….we just need to make sure she don’t get a concussion” dad said.
” We need to get her to the hospital?” Mom suggested.
” There’s no way we can get to the hospital it’s dark and there’s no way I can drive the boat in the dark” dad answered.
” we have to try we can’t just wait here…… she’s in pain here” mom said.
” I understand but you should understand as well…… it’s late and dark, there’s always a heavy storm in the ocean when it’s dark”
” We use a boat not a sh¡p…..if we try to take the boat it will sink……we need to wait till tomorrow” dad said.
” What if we call the port management and see if they can bring a sh¡p here” I suggested.
” Yeah…..we can do” dad said then pulled out his phone and dialled the number.
He called but it was unreachable, he dialled it few more times but no luck.
” I guess no one is at the port” dad said.
” So we will have to wait till tomorrow” Sarah said.
” We have no choice” I replied.

” How did this happened?….. which one of you is fighting with her?” Mom asked.
” No one, we were all in our room when she came down to get water to drink” I said.
” Then I came down and saw her bleeding on the ground” Anna said.
” So how did this happened?……are you saying some spiritual person did this to him?” Mom said.
” There’s someone else in this house mom, and he’s capable of doing this” I said and my mom feign curiosity.
” You mean there’s a stranger in the place?……who?” Mom asked.
” He’s no stranger Mom, it’s your son Destry……He did this and I’m very sure of it” I said.
” EVELYN, would you stop all this?….. Enough already” mom said.
” No mom, you listen to me now…..no one else is in this house, it can’t be you and definitely not us” I said back.
” I’ve seen this in my dreams….. he told me he’s coming for us…all of us and I guess he’s started already” I said.
” Oh really, you’re using this to pin it on him?…..that preposterous, absurd and foolish……he can’t do it” mom defended.
” Or maybe your love for him is clouding your judgement, Mom….your son is not normal…..”
” You know this but you’re ignoring it……how long will you wait before he kills us all” I said.
” It can’t be him….. it’s not possible he’s still a kid, this has never happened before in all the years we’ve been here” she said.
” what you should be thinking is that…..Maybe there’s someone else in this island” mom said.
” Seriously Mom….this island is empty for years…..no one is here….just us, so it’s definitely Destry” I insisted.
” I didn’t do anything……why are you accusing me?” I heard Destry said then turn to see him standing on the stairs.
” Where were you Destry?” Dad asked.
” I was in the my room all that time…..I was sleeping then I heard you all talking down here” he said.
” You see…… he’s innocent, instead of finding out who did this…. you’re busy pointing to my son” mom said.
” We are your daughter as well and that boy is no where near innocent….. he’s behind this” I said.
” Stop it already, for all we know you *might be the one behind it besides it’s not the first time you try to takeout your siblings” he said and my eyes bulged* out.
” What’s that supposed to mean?” Dad asked.
” Destry, what are you talking about?….what do you mean by that?” Mom asked.
” Wh…what t-the hell are you talking about?” I stuttered nervously.
” Oh please, stop it already……You know it, I know it and you hate that I know it” he said glaring at me.
‘ Oh God…. what’s he trying to do?…..is he trying to rat me out…. Right now?’
” Evelyn, what the hell is he talking about?” Mom asked.
” I don’t know mom…. he’s crazy, he’s not normal….. he’s insane” I said.
” You’re the one not Okay ….. You’ve been acting weird throughout the week, for all we know it could be you” Destry said.
” It’s not true…..we were all in the room together when we heard the scre-m” Sophie defended me.
” Silent everyone……. let’s make sure Betty is safe then we can confirmed who did this” dad said.

Everybody sat in the living room unable to sleep, I sat with my betty to make sure she’s comfortable.
When it get very late in the midnight Every have sleep off except my mom and I making sure Betty is not in any pain.

{Morning}
.
I woke up to see that it’s morning already I can’t believe I slept off, I don’t even know how I dozed off.
I can’t find my mom beside me again, she must have went back to her room.
My sisters are still sleeping on the couch but my dad is not here, he must’ve gone to his room.
We need to get going, Betty needs to get to the hospital.
I need to get my dad then we can start going then I saw the front door opened and my dad entered.
The countenance he have on his face is not pleasant in any way.
” Damn” he growled angrily which woke up my sisters.
” Dad, what happened?” I asked.
” The boat has been Destroyed” he announced and we gasped in shock.
” OhmyGod……How did that happen?” I asked.
” I don’t know……I went out there to get it started and I found it ruined on the shore” dad said.
” OhmyGod…..What are we going to do now?” Sarah said.
” I don’t know…..I don’t know what to do” dad said.
” What if we call the Port management…..they can help” I suggested.
” I tried not connecting…… it’s not reachable” dad replied.
” What!….I thought they are supposed to be available everyday” Sarah said.
” Well not today…..Today is Christmas, they don’t work on Christmas” dad said.
OhGod….. it’s True, No no no this can’t be happening…this can’t be happening.
” OhmyGod……what do we do now?” I said then dad’s phone started ringing.
” Hold on…..let me get this” dad said then left to receive the call.
” It’s Morning already…..we should get going” Destry said coming out his room.
” Did you do anything to the boat?…… it’s your doing right?” I fired at him.
” Heyy, stop all this accusations already….. besides I don’t know what you’re talking about” he said.
” Dad went to the boat and found it destroyed…. obviously someone is trying to prevent us from leaving” I said.
” In which world do you think I’m able to do that?…..do you think I’m strong enough to take down that boat”
” Oh c’mon Evelyn, Wake up already……. it seems you’re still dreaming…..anytime from now you will accuse me of stealing your underwear” he said.
” Why are you doing this to us?…..we are your family” I said.
” I don’t know anything you’re talking about” he denied.
I started thinking of a way to but can’t come to anything then my dad came back looking more worried.
‘ OhGod…..what again’
” Dad…..what again?” I asked worriedly.
” Do you mind if I speak with you alone?” Dad requested which only frighten me more.
” Okay” I replied then we went out of the house.

” Dad, what’s going on?…..you look scared” I asked.
” Tell me more, Tell me more about your dreams” he requested.
” I thought you said they are just dreams?” I said.
” I think you might be right Just tell me everything” he said.
” Wow great……it took you seven years to know it’s not just a dream” I said.
” I’m sorry okay……but just tell me” he said.
” Errr, it’s started a year after Destry was born, at first it’s just once in four months but recently it’s been very frequent”
” I saw him in my dreams pursuing me then he caught up with me, at first I didn’t see his face but now I do”
” He’s exactly him I swear dad…….that last one I had he said he’s coming for all of us….I swear that’s what he said” I narrated.
” Oh…..okay” dad said nervously.
” So what’s all this about?……what changed your mind? ” I asked.
” I just received a call from their school, one of Destry’s victim who is unconscious confirm him”
“…..and there are some those that witness him being the last person with his class teacher” dad said.
” OhmyGod” I exclaimed.
” That’s not all……I believe he’s the one responsible for what happened to Betty cause I saw him running to his room last night ” dad said.
” What?…..you knew this and you didn’t say anything” I said unbelievably.
” I don’t know for sure he’s the one….so I didn’t say anything” he said.
” Woww dad……this is so unbelievable, you and Mom are the same….why do you keep on letting him get away with everything” I said.
” I’m sorry I didn’t believe you it’s just that it’s hærd to believe a small boy like him will be capable of doing such” dad said.
” You have no idea what he’s capable of……I poisoned him dad and nothing happened to him” I whispered.
” You did what?” He said in disbelief.
” Yes dad……I knew there’s something wrong with that boy…….what is it you’re not telling us about that boy?” I asked.
” I’m so sorry Evelyn…..I promise I’ll make this right….just make sure you don’t discuss this with anyone……not even your sisters” dad said.
” What are you going to do?” I asked.
” What is needed to be done” dad said heading to the house and I followed him.

Unknown POV

Evelyn and her Dad entered the house then Evelyn went to check on Betty.
” Destry…..come let’s go, we need to get some stuff” Mr Brookes said.
” Okay Dad” he replied standing up.
” We will be back girls” he said then they went out of the house.

Mr Brookes grab his hunting gun as they went out of the house and Destry was worried.
” Dad, I thought you said there are no animals in this island……then why are you with a gun?” He asked.
” I made sure there’s no animal here but yesterday I saw one, a very dangerous one” Mr Brookes replied.
Mr Brookes lead him very far away from the house where there are lots of trees and leaves.
” What exactly are we looking for Dad?” Destry asked.
” Look over there, it’s a very small root….. it’s used for healing” Mr Brookes said pointing to a corner.
As Destry went over to the place with his back facing his father then Mr Brookes pointed the gun at his head.
He placed his hand on the trigger then took a few breathe before pulling the trigger.
‘Pphaaaaahhhh’ he shot him at the forehead.
To his outmost bewilderment the bullet make no effect on him, it’s like the bullet bounce off his head.
” What the hell” he uttered as Destry to him.
” Dadd……you tried to kill me?” Destry said.
” Wh….wh…what kind of freak are you?” He said nervously then shot at him again but nothing happened.
” You are bad, you’re very bad…..and I hate you” he said revealing his monsterous teeth then jumped at him.
” Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh”
