Both Tina and I sat in the lecture hall, waiting for the lecturer to come in while some students were as well discussing. “so how was your outing with Prince, I believe you guys have gone out together twice” Tina said “yeah, we went to the beach twice” I replied with a smile “so do you love the outing?” she asked “yeah, I so much love it, I guess that place is good to relax a lot and Prince is a good guy also” I replied “I told you he’s different from other guys, he is so friendly” Tina said with so much pride and smile “yeah you are right, he is so friendly with me, sometimes I just wonder if this is really happening to me, I mean a guy taking me out to a very nice place that I fell in love it. To be honest with you, I have always thought that this is how I would live my life, but I guess God has a better plan for me and I just can’t thank him enough. At least you brought me happiness, you showed me what happiness is and you let me know that I can be love, you are such a caring friend to me, thank you so much Tina” I said with so much appreciation, deep down in me I really want to express myself more than that to her, she just give me some hope anytime I see her, I am glad I met her and I hope this friendsh¡p last forever “Audrey” she called my name as her eyes teary with smiles written all over her face, I smiled back at her while we hugged each other before releasing ourselves from the hug “so how is your mum, your dad, your step mum and that guy?” Tina asked me “well my mum is ok and I think she is improving these days, she is now trying to eat all by herself and my dad’s wife…hmmm.. well she is just there, sometimes I look at her and see deceit and lies in her and I really don’t trust that woman, I guess that’s why I don’t like her and for that guy, ever since I told you about the rubbish he did I haven’t seen him at home. I wonder when he is going to leave totally” I said “I hope your dad’s new wife doesn’t disturb your mum” Tina said “no she doesn’t trespass to her” I replied “ok that’s better, Audrey be careful of your dad’s new wife and that guy, sometimes I just wish you can stay with me” she said worriedly “No, it’s ok Tina don’t worry I will be fine, ok?” I reassured her while she still gave a worried face before trying hærd to smile at me.
Suddenly the lecturer walked in so everyone quickly sat down properly for lectures to begin.

Kelvin and I decided to meet at Jay’s house, we all sat in the livingroom discussing, we have a little outing we are going, but it’s later in the day.
Jay was in the kitchen cooking while Kelvin and I played video games.
“how is Audrey?” Jay asked from the kitchen “she is ok” I replied with a smile “I hope that girl is not disturbing her anymore” he asked, “of course she is not, Tina told me that Audrey said she met her last week but she walked away from her” I replied “wow!, that sounds interesting, so whats going on between you and Audrey” Kelvin asked “like how?” I asked, looking at him “I mean, are you guys dating or what?” he asked while I gave him a look of ‘are you ok bro?’ “Are you for real, is that how to date?” I asked “Then how?” he asked back “Prince, you don’t have to mind this guy,that was how he asked Tina out but unfortunately our pretty boy got rejected” Jay said as he walked into the living room “really, Tina rejected him?” I asked trying to hide my laughter “wow! So he didn’t tell you” Jay asked “yea he didn’t” I replied “He won’t tell you since Tina was like ‘Kelvin, I won’t date you unless you change’ Jay said with a funny tone “wow” I muttered “that girl is really smart and I like her for that” Jay said giving Kelvin a smirk “you are a rubbish guy” Kelvin said to Jay angrily “and you are a nonsense guy” Jay fired back, laughing out loud just to make Kelvin to get more angry “don’t worry, I will surprise the both of you, that babe is mine” Kelvin said proudly “is she a biscuit or you think she is a slut you can carry up and down” Jay said but more like a question “this is why I hate you” Kelvin replied “And that is why I wish I could kill you sometimes” Jay said angrily “ok guys…guys! Its ok, Jay leave Kelvin alone, he is about to get serious for the first time in his life and i hope we can motivate him to try more better” I said trying to hide my smile “but why are you laughing, what’s funny?” Kelvin asked “For goodness sake,I am not laughing” I said while I try to hide my smile by rolling my tongue to my right cheek “Prince, you don’t need to hide your smile, just tell this guy to be serious if he wants to date that girl” Jay said “But that’s exactly what am doing, right?” Kelvin asked “oh! You are right, that is what you are doing but I hope you remember that you still had s€× with Jessica two days ago” Jay said while I looked at Kelvin waiting for him to say something “you said you wanna change but you are still seeing Jessica,is that true” I asked him “food is ready” Kelvin said as he quickly stood up and left us as he walked into the kitchen “I told you he is a genius, even if he doesn’t tell us I know his movement more than you” Jay said with pride while I just smiled at him.
There was a knock on the door “that must be Mark” Jay said as he quickly stood up to open the door. It was Mark,He entered as Jay open his arm for a hug while mark k-ssed him stead, making out for some minutes while I just sat down watching them “it’s only a few steps to your room” Kelvin said as he came out of the kitchen holding a bowl of chicken soup. They stopped as Jay grabbed a pillow and threw it at Kelvin but Kelvin caught it and gave him a smirk.
Mark and I just smiled at them “what’s up Prince?” Mark said as he walked towards me so I stood up and we shook hands “am good, its been a while” I said to him “sorry, it’s just my work and you know travelling from one place to another is really stressful” he explained “ I understand, Jay told me you went to Turkey” I said “yes I just arrived from there so I decided to come stay with Jay for two days before leaving again” he said “that must have been a stressful trip, I hope you find some time to rest very well” I said to him “yeah sure,I already planned to do that, thank you” he said.
One thing I love about Mark is that he is very hærdworking just as Jay told me, Mark’s parent are not rich and he is totally from a poor background but he worked very hærd to prove himself. Apart from my Dad,counting the top billionaires, Mark will definitely be one of them. And another reason I also like him is that he also create some time for Jay,He gave him his attention too even with his tight schedules, and that’s what I always wanted for Jay ever since he broke up with his first love which broke his heart, The guy also stole his money before running off. Jay spent few months in the hospital before recovering and when he told me about Mark, I honestly did not trust the guy and sometimes I try to protect Jay from Mark because I don’t want the same thing to happen again but Mark proved it that he was meant for Jay and he care for him deeply; it’s been two years already, they have been together for two years and I really hope they last forever. “Let me excuse you to rest” I said “alright,we will talk later” he said before walking away while Jay followed him “so you got that to yourself alone?” I said to Kelvin who was busy battling with his chicken soup all this while ‘’You know your way to the kitchen ‘’ he said while I grabbed a pillow on the couch and threw it at him, Just at what he is really good at, he caught it and threw it back at me I tried to dodge it but it was too late and it hit me on my head while I tripped back and fell to the chair Kelvin couldn’t stop laughing ‘’You are crazy you know‘’ I said ’’I know’’ he muttered while I just walked down to the kitchen to get myself what to eat ……..

I stood at the front of the school waiting for taxi , I decided not to get any private uber again, I guess I will just cope with this , I was waiting for my ride to come and that was when I saw senior Dora, she quickly took away her glance the moment she saw me too, I wondered what’s was going on with her lately, I run to her to stop her ‘’Senior Dora” I yelled her name while she stopped walking , she saw me running closer to her. I caught her eyes scanning everywhere,Honestly I don’t know why she’s looking so scared right now,this is my first time to see her this way ‘’Senior Dora, is someth…..‘’ ‘’look Audrey I beg you, please leave my life alone , I know I was wrong for hurting you, but please stay away from me, please and please leave me alone” she pleaded before walking away quietly. I just stood where I was as I stared at her walking away; is this a dream or reality?…

It is quite late at night, Audrey’s father and his new wife went out for holidays, so its just Audrey, Jamal and Audrey’s mom. Audrey sat in her room, writing some things down in her diary, suddenly the rain started pouring heavily, Audrey quietly grabbed her phone, she switched on her touch light to go check on her mum since the place became dark and the electricity went off too. She slowly entered her mum’s room. Her mum was sleeping, She walked quietly to the window to close it because of the heavy breeze. She switched on the room lamp and also checked on her mum before walking out of the room quietly. she was on her way back to her room when someone suddenly grabbed her, pushing her to the wall. Audrey scre-med out with so much fear as she tried to look up to see who it was and it was Jamal, he gave her a smirk “J…Jamal!”? Audrey stuttered “yeah! its me, we can just have fun tonight since its just you and I” he said as he tried to force himself on her so she kicked his balls and ran away from him but he caught her back and dragged her to the living room, He pushed her to the chair then he removed his shirt as well as his belt and trouser.
Audrey’s eyes almost popped out “J..J…Ja…Jamal please don’t do this” she pleaded while he slapped her, making her phone fell of from her, he laid on her, k-ssing her so roughly at the same time moving his hands all over her body. Tears started flowing from her eyes as she tried all she could to free herself from him but all to no avail.
Suddenly she saw a flower vase which she quickly grabbed it and hit it on Jamal’s head as he rolled over the chair gro-ning in pain. Audrey quickly stood up to grabbed her phone and ran out of the house, she stopped in front of a shop to hide from the rain, she got scared and started shivering from cold. she brought out her phone which she hide beneath her dress because of the rain to call someone but suddenly she stopped herself with the thought that Tina would already be asleep. She looked around and everywhere was quiet except for the sound of raindrops, suddenly she remembered a memory.
FLASH BACK👇
16 years old Audrey on the street at night, holding her stomach and walking alone on the silent street. She had menstrual cramps and doesn’t know any medicine to buy to reduce the pain so she just walked slowly to the pharmacy “please I want some pain relief” she said to the Pharmacist “what happened to you?” she asked “I have menstrual cramps and it really hurts so bad” she said slowly, still holding her stomach. “What about your parent’s? they should be the one to get this for you” the woman said but Audrey was unable to answer because when she left home, her parents were busy fighting that they didn’t even notice her walking out of the house. “please give me the pain relief” she pleaded. The pharmacist quickly gave her the medicine “can I get a cup of water please?” The woman quickly gave it to her while she took the drugs and swallowed it with a cup of water, She sat down for a while to rest, as she was about to leave she took out her money and gave it to the woman but she told her to keep the money “thank you so much ma.” Audrey said softly before walking back to the house.
She entered her room, shutting the door behind her as she laid down on her bed with tears flowing rapidly on her face to the bed till it got soaked “I want my Mum” She said sadly as she grabbed her pillow and cried bitterly in it…

The rain stopped but Audrey was really scared to go back home, she doesn’t have anyone to call except for Tina, but still she doesn’t want to disturb her. Suddenly Prince came to her mind and she gave it a thought before dialing his number “Hello Audrey, how are you” Prince picked up the call at the first ring. He asked her but she couldn’t say anything but to burst into tears.

I don’t know what happened to her, it’s really late and I was surprised when she suddenly called me. On our way to my house,I asked her what’s going on but still she didn’t say anything to me.I didn’t bother to ask her again maybe she needed sometime to tell me what exactly went wrong. I went to fetch her to my house, I asked my Mum to come help her while my Mum took her to the guest room for her to sleep for the night. My mum also told me she saw marks of fingers on her cheeks and it seems someone hit her, I felt so bad and very angry at the same time but I decided to wait patiently till the next morning before I would ask her about what happened.
I was surprised when she woke up the next morning and said she want to go back home that her mum is waiting for her, what was her mum doing when she was getting hit or where was she when that was happening to her daughter, I had multiple thoughts and questions on my mind, But Audrey left without saying a word to me nor even thinking of giving me a clue about what happened…

Audrey arrived back home and decided to confront Jamal with a bottle of wine. She opened the door to his room but he wasn’t there, then she realized that his belongings weren’t there also. She dropped the bottle on the table before walking to her mum’s room, she was surprised to find her mum still sleeping so she moved towards her and placed her hand softly on her “Mum! Mum its time to wake up” she said softly but got no response, she continued to wake her up but still no response from her Mum, she was so shocked as her eyes are ready to popped out, she became so scared with weird thoughts running through her mind,She quickly moved her ear to her mum’s nose, only not to feel air from her nostril. Audrey scre-med out so loudly grabbing her mum’s body closer to herself, putting her head on her laps as she cried out bitterly “MUM! MUM! Please don’t do this to me, MUM! Mum look at me,it’s me Audrey,Mum!Mum!!! She scre-med out helplessly…
