I stood befuddled as she kneeled him in the balls immediately making him fall to the floor.

“Chloe, he’s__”.

“Shush”. Liam clamped his hand over my mouth smirking. “A little beating won’t hurt”.

“What? He’s gonna get hurt “.

Liam shrugged. “He’s in the hospital”.

I made to get Chloe away from Nocholas when the door opened and then Lucas walked in.

He stopped seeing her beating Nick up and I breathed out a sigh of relief thinking that he was gonna drag her away.

At least, she listens to him.

Surprisingly, he walked off past them and shook hands with Liam as they both laugh while being oblivious of Nick predicament.

“Lucas!”. I spoke up. “Won’t you go take her away from him? She might kill him”.

“He’s better off dead”. Lucas shrugged not even sparing him a glance.

“What? Really? He’s your friend, do you remember that ?”.

“Nah! He’s actually Williams’s friend, he’s a jerk. I’ve always hated him “.

“Yeah”. Liam snickered. “Lucas is actually not friends with Nick at all. He hates him “.

I rolled my eyes and went to where Chloe was dragging her away from Nicholas. She looked at me surprise that I had done that.

“What the hell?”. She blurted out. “Why did you do that?”.

“Do you really wanna kill him?”.

“Why won’t I? Do you know what this damn asshole was planning on doing to you?”.

“I don’t care anymore, Chloe. He already apologized to me so all that doesn’t matter to me anymore”.

She scoffed. “Brie. What the heck? This guy is planning with Lauren to take away your babies and you are saying I shouldn’t trash him?”.

“I wasn’t going to do that”. Nick spoke up.

“Did you hear that, Chloe? He doesn’t have any intentions of making me unhappy. He told me that himself”.

“Oh”. She muttered. “I didn’t know”.

“Well thats just it. You always act without reacting, you do that all the time”.

“Okay, fine. Nicholas, I apologize”. Chloe looked back at me. “Are you happy now, Brie?”.

“You don’t get it, do you? Everything is not about beating up, thats all you do without finding out the main problem and thats bad “.

“Don’t tell me you are saying all these just because I beat up Nick? Huh? Don’t tell me that you’ll forgive after everything he did to you”.

I ignored her and turned towards Nicholas, I grabbed his right arm and pulled him along with me as I walked out of the class.

“Brianna”. He paused by the waiting room as we got outside.

“What ?”.

“Maybe you shouldn’t have walked out like that”.

“Oh. So you prefer her trashing your face? Huh?”.

“No. What? I mean you shouldn’t be haste in things with your condition. You just gave birth days ago, remember?”.

“I know that”. I sighed softly. “I didn’t like the way she just launched at you without even bothering to know what happened”.

“Yeah, I won’t blame her”. Nick said sitting on the waiting bench. “I’m pretty bad”.

“Don’t say that, the fact that you cared for my happiness more than mine means you are a really good person”.

He shook his head. “Nah! I mean, I’ve done a lot of worse things__”.

“But you’ll make amends for it, Nick”. I cut him off.

“Brianna?”.

I turned around to see Lea coming towards us, she paused surprised to see Nick.

“What are you doing here?”. She asked him in a shrill voice. “Lauren sent you here?”.

“What? No, Lea, I__”.

“Shut it!”. She snapped at him then turned to face me. “Don’t listen to any thing he says at all, he’s not the father of your baby at all”.

“I know that “.

“And he’s going to make sure that the DNA results are fake”. She continued. “Lauren sent him here just to destroy you and Liam happiness”.

“Are you done?”. Nick asked her.

“Lea”. I said calmly. “Thank you for all what you said but I know about all this”.

“You do?”. She asked looking at me then at Nicholas.

“Yeah. And thanks again anyways, it must have taken a lot of guts for you to stand up to Lauren, I know that she can be spiteful”.

Lea chuckled a little. “I had to stand up for good this time and yeah, Lauren did kick me out of her house “.

“But you did the right thing and thats all that matters now”. I added. “I’m grateful to you for this, Thank you, Lea”.

She nodded smiling. “And your baby?”.

“Its actually babies. They are twins”.

She beamed brightly. “Really ? Oh Em Gee, thats awesome. Having twins has always been my dream, you are so lucky”.

“And lucky is the person who won her heart as well”. Nick added sadly.

Lea looked at him. “What happened to you? Why have you got bruises there?”.

“Oh”. He ran his hands through his silk hair nervously. “Chloe kind of beat me up”.

“Jeez! They must be pretty hurting”. She stretched out her arm for him. “Here. I’ll help you to the nurses office”.

He smiled standing up. “Thanks, Lea”.

I crossed my arms watching them as they left together looking like an old couple.

“So you were here ?”.

I turned around to see Liam. “Hey!”.

“Hey?”. He arched his eyebrows. “Thats all I get? Why did you leave the ward room that way?”.

“I don’t know. I guess I got pissed off a little there”.

“Oh”.

“Is Chloe still there?”. I asked hopefully.

“No. Lucas left with her, says they are going on a date, a special date”.

“A special date? Whats that?”.

He shrugged. “Thats for Lucas to tell not me”.

“Where’s Lili? Oh God! I’m such a bad mother, I haven’t checked on her since she came to see her”.

“Relax”. Liam pecked my l-ips. “She’s with Jayden and Jana “.

“Right. I bet she’s so happy right now”.

“Uh, Brianna? I got something to tell you”.

I looked up at Liam to see he looked pretty serious right now. What could be wrong?

🍭Chloe Houston🍭
“Okay. Lucas, for the umpteenth time, why are we back in the penthouse? I thought we were going out on a date”.

He k×ssed my cheeks. “Just chill, okay?”.

We walked up the stairs and then back to his room again. I noticed he kinda gulped nervously before opening the room door.

I paused as I saw red and white balloons everywhere in the room and bunches of red roses as well.

“Wow”. I mouthed as I noticed the pink rose petals scattered on the bed cutely.

I glanced at him and he shrugged smiling, the sight of his face brightening up made my skin prickle and my in,sides about burst from love.

He held my hands while I looked on still surprised and then k×ssed me softly before bending down on one knee.

I gasped my eyes water seeing him do all that, I’m thinking he’s doing this because I wanted something r0mantic.

He pulled out a black ring box and opened it slowly revealing a gorgeous diamond ring that must have cost him much money.

“Chloe Houston. It has always been love since the very first day I met you, from that moment at the club to me splashing water on you and also you acting crazy like__”.

“Get to the point”. I said through clenched teeth.

He chuckled nervously. “Will you marry me?”.

Oh Jeez! I never expected that this day will ever come.

“Yes”. I whispered.

He breathed out smiling and stood up as he pulled the ring from the box taking my hand and then slipped it on my finger.

He pulled my l-ips close to his immediately and I smiled against his l-ips as he held me tightly, one hand moving to the back of my neck while I delved mine in his hair.

“I love you”. He whispered k×ssing me on my forehead.

I glanced at Chloe expecting her to at least, say something about where I’m taking her to but she didn’t say anything.

I watched as she stared at the engagement ring on her finger admiring and adoring it like it was some priceless treasure.

Wow. She must really love that ring.

“Chloe?”. I spoke up clearing my throat.

“Yeah?”. She answered with her eyes still focused on the ring. “Lucas?”.

“You have been staring at that ring ever since I started driving. Do you love me that much ?”. I joked.

“I just .. “. She sighed softly. “I can’t believe that you asked me to marry you, thats it”.

“What? Of course, I did. I’m in love with you, didn’t I tell you that?”.

“Well yeah but .. “. She glanced at me. “I have never received this much love from any man before”.

“Then thats because they are so blind to see the worth that’s in front of them”.

“Hm. I’ve never been lucky with guys at all, having lost my father at a young age and then raised by a heartless mother__”.

“Chloe … “.

“And then having this stupid dumb ass to lie to you just to take your v-rginity in high school”.

“What?”. I asked looking at her.

“Back in high school. When I was 16, I lost my v-rginity to this cocky basketball player who I thought loved me”.

“Ooh”.

“I’ve had a lot of experiences with different guys who broke my heart turn by turn. But hey! I’ve not dated more guy that Brie has”.

I smiled a little. “How many guys ?”.

“Well my heart has been broken by five guys but Brie … “. She chuckled lightly. “I’m pretty sure she heard ‘I love you’ from ten or eleven guy, basically”.

“Wow”. I said chuckling a bit. “Oh Gosh!”.

“But at least no one got to embarrass her in public with a s×× leak video”. Chloe added.

I stared at her as she said that and then focused on the road again as I drove but I couldn’t keep what she said out of my mind.

What did she mean by that? One of her ex boyfriends humiliated her or what!

Hm. Maybe thats the reason she decided to get all tough and macho giving up all the soft feelings away, trashing them behind.

I’m really curious about her past. But hey! I have go to trust her.

“So where are we heading to?”. Chloe spoke up looking outside the window.

“Oh so now you are interested in where I am driving us to?”. I asked pretending to get angry.

She chuckled hitting me. “You are crazy, Lucas”.

“So try guessing?”.

“Hm. I don’t know”.

“Try guessing, Chloe”.

“Tell me where you are taking me to this instant, Lucas or I will punch your balls”.

I flinched a little. “Jeez! Chloe. Seriously?”.

“What? Hey. I’m just kidding”.

“Well I’m taking us to the best bridal shop”.

“Right. I bet she’s so happy right now”.

“Uh, Brianna? I got something to tell you”.

I looked up at Liam to see he looked pretty serious right now. What could be wrong?

“Are you okay?”. I asked holding his hands affectionately.

“Well I, um … “.

“Liam, are you okay? Did something go wrong?”.

“Its about Trisha”.

“What about her?”. I spoke up as my voice sounded like a croaky whisper.

“She signed the divorce papers”. He blurted out. “Earlier this morning”.

“What? She signed them? “.

He nodded in response. “Yeah”.

“Just like that? She signed the divorce papers and then handed it over you just like that?”.

“Brianna. Why are you sounding like that? It looks like you aren’t happy”.

“Of course, I’m happy, Liam. I don’t just trust Trisha one bit. I mean, didn’t it bother you as to why she gave up just like that ?”.

He sighed softly. “Brianna. As long as she will leave my life. I really don’t care what intentions she had behind signing those papers”.

“But what if she’s planning something! And then there’s actually an hidden agenda behind that divorce papers?”.

“Anna … “. He cupped my cheeks staring into my eyes. “Look, you don’t need to stress yourself about all of that”.

“I’m just worried, Liam. I mean, Trisha is so cunning and its not my fault if I don’t trust her “.

“She did it for Lilliana”.

“Huh?”.

“Trisha signed the divorce papers for Lili, all she wants is just to mother her daughter and thats it”.

“Oh”. I mouthed.

“And I guess she felt threatened seeing that you in the family’s picture”. He added too. “She thinks Lili will forget about her”.

“Ooh. Well I know that Lili loves me but I can’t be compare to her. She’s her real mother so I don’t see any reason for the hate”.

Liam shrugged. “Thats Trisha for you. She doesn’t like competition for attention tho”.

“Well I’m happy she won’t be a pest to my life again”. I said feeling relieved.

“Yeah”. He k×ssed my cheeks. “I’ve made sure of that”.

“I love you, Liam”. I whispered to him.

He beamed brightly. “I love you too. Anna”.

Liam pulled in for a k×ss and I opened up my mouth to his reciprocating his k×ss as he pressed me closer to him encircling my w–st.

“Eww! Daddy! What are you doing to my Mommy?!”.

I bursted into laughter immediately on what Lili said as I stepped away from Liam whose expression was really priceless.

“Oh God!”. He turned around to face her gr0×ning. “Lilliana. You don’t interrupt two grown ups when they are busy with their stuffs”.

“But I hate that stuff. Its yuck”. She said face palming herself while I laughed.

Liam scoffed looking at me. “You think its funny? She’s only eight!”.

“And she’s just a child”. I added. “You don’t need to get worked up on all this, you know”.

“But I’m not a child”. Lilian pouted. “I’m a big girl, right, Mummy?”.

“Of course, you are a big girl”. Liam replied tweaking her cheeks. “But you are still my little girl if you remember”.

I laughed again as Lili swathed his hand away annoyed that he had called her a little girl.

“Kids”. Liam said shaking his head.

“Well you have two more if you remember, Mr. Paige”.

He wanted to reply the statement when he was interrupted by my phone ringing. Liam handed it to me and I realized he was with my phone.

I glanced at the caller’s I.D before picking the call. Dad. What does he wants again?

“Hello. Dad?”. I said as I connected the call.

“Brianna”.

His voice sounded distant and worried.

“Dad. Is everything okay? You sound like something bad happened”.

“Your sister, I mean, Lauren got into an accident along with her friend, Emilia”.

“What?”.

“Emilia died on the s₱0t but Lauren is being admitted in the hospital. She lost a lot of blood and I was thinking … “.
