Being a no body in the eyes of the council meant anyone can just pick you up in the village and ask to be with you forever, asking for a blood bound ” you will get to know each other, in your next life ”
” he is a wizard, am a vampire!!” Shouting I cry ” am about to get married to the man I love, the man of my dreams ” my gaze move to the wizard standing and grinning ” please tell them to let me go, Lucian is waiting for me at the alter, I can’t afford to miss that ”

My wh0le life have been broken and scattered because of this man I don’t even know his name, this wicked and selfish man.

CHAPTER ONE: FIRST ENCOUNTER
” You have been going to this sword training for a very long time Elia ” hearing mother complain over the same thing all over again I roll my eyes ” you know very well you need to find a job to help this house hold, any job will do but if you continue this sword fighting practice, it will only drain us ”
” but mother I told you ” pulling out a chair in the kitchen I sit and stare at her ” I have this weird feeling in me, feeling that I need to grow strong, get strong ”
” you don’t need that, what you need is to get a man who is strong enough to protect you ”
” but mother, I can protect myself, why should I trust a man with my life?” Grabbing an apple I take a bite from it ” and you need to stop worrying, am going to find a job tomorrow ”
” speaking of jobs, this is just noon and I saw this posted on the Bertillon gate” collecting the paper from mother I open it gently then frowned ” yes, I know you never expected to be a maid Elia but this has to be done, your brother school fees are coming up soon and I need your help in paying for this ”
” I will only work in there for three months ”
” yes my child, that money should be enough, they pay hugely you know ” mother voice fill with enthusiasm and I have no desire in ruining that at all, after father death she has taken everything on her, handling five jobs just to meet the family needs and now that am done with highschool I think I should save up for college and also help her in the process.
” well I better check out the work place, don’t want someone else stealing that work ”
” thank you Elia ” smiling i grab my bag before leaving ” keep dinner for me mother!! ” running to the train station i sit down gently, waiting for the next stop but then something got my attention, this place look really quite, so quite that it look like something is wrong.
Dropping my bag I stand to my feet then look closer, they is nothing to see but it looks like they is someone there, someone fighting and…..
Before I could finish my thought the train came and that feeling disappeared, I must have been over thinking, how can people be fighting when you are not seeing anyone ” the Bertillon residents ” mumbling my destination I sit close to the window and what I saw next made me speechless.
A man just appeared out of nowhere, body fill with blood ” Lucian are you okay ” someone else appeared and when he mumble fine, fangs could be seen in his mouth, maybe he fixed them.
The train begin to move, giving me little time to stare at that face, his brown hair wavy and I bet it will be easy to run my hands through, those red eyes glitter with achievement when he nod, normal humans don’t have red eyes.
What is he?
Before I lost him completely, he swiftly turn his head to my direction, he stare at me and at that my little fragile heart skip a beat ” oh my god” averting my gaze I look ahead of myself and close my eyes, what just happened? For a few seconds he look at me like he knew me.
” Bertillon residents! ”
” am getting out ” grabbing my bag I jump out of the train, the sun is going to rest already, I have to hurry to meet up with this job or else mother will be furious ” hello” standing outside the gate I keep knocking but no one seem to respond.
” you are here for the work?” Someone mumble behind me, freaking the hell out of me ” did I scare you?”
” yes!” Turning around I yell but the old lady only smile ” come on in, glad you arrive before six…your mother have already fill in the needed details, I just need to show you around ”
” that means am hired?”
” oh no my dear, I don’t do the hiring, the master do ”
” master?”
” yes, he prefer to be called that but his real name is Alexander the fifth” Alexander huh, what a nice name if you ask me…following her in,side the mansion I just couldn’t help but to feel amazed.
” this is the library, no one is permitted here except you are on duty to clean ” nodding my head at that, we walk down stairs to an empty room, this place doesn’t have a living room?
Moving to the left she open a huge door ” this is the living room” only one couch then a place for fire and a huge television but I bet they hærdly turn it on ” follow me ” we step out of the mansion and move behind to find another house, huge but not like where he stays ” every maid arrive here as early as five to change to the working uniform, the mater is a general at the army, he likes punctuality, neatness and accuracy ”
Looking at the room I notice that no servants is here but before I could ask she beat me to it ” the servants are taking their evening meal in the servants dining room and after that they change to their normal clothes, those that wish to return home do so while others who wish to sleep here can also do that ”
” the master doesn’t complain?”
” he hærdly notice ” the woman smile ” now come, the master must see you to know if he likes you to work here ”
” you mean now?”
” yes now, hurry up and i will show you the kitchen on the way there ” nodding I walk slowly trying my best to memories the place, we enter an elevator, he Even have a elector in his house? How rich is this guy ” the fifth floor is his room, first floor his study room, second his punishment room ”
” punishment? ”
” yes, he punish maids that disobey his orders, I told you earlier, he is a general and you know generals love respect” the old lady exhale ” we will go to the third floor, hiring room ”
” what’s the fourth floor for?”
” no body goes there, off limit…don’t forget that ”
” okay ” the elevator open and the only room in this floor look really big, hiring room huh, the old woman knock thrice then nod ” go in now ”
” what?”
“Go in ”
Blinking I push the door open, step in and close it gently, a table and two chairs are placed in this huge room, moving my gaze to the man, he wore black shirt and black trouser, his hair also dark in colour ” take your seat ” he mumble still not turning around, his voice so deep that shiver run down my spines, shiver of fear to be precise.
” thank you master ” sitting down I heard a soft chuckle.
” master? That old lady does her job correctly ” after that he turn around, all the air literally left my body, unlike the guy I saw earlier, this man is evilly handsome, his eyes black, so black that I fear I might get lost in it ” let’s move to the matter at hand ” he step closer, pull a chair out and sit, his gaze not leaving mine, doing the greatest mistake of my life my gaze lower to his l-ips ” you want to k-ss me?”
” what!!” I had no idea I scre-m but that only made him smile, though the smile didn’t reach those eyes, I watch him stand to his feet and move towards my direction, placing his hand under my chin he lift my face to look at him properly and then he smile.
” to think you came to me yourself ” not understanding what he is saying he purred ” you’re hired, you resume tomorrow, meet lady morin to give you the rule book before you leave ” I watch him move back to the window ” leave my presence ”
” yes master ” and with that I hurry out of the room, what have I gotten myself into?
