Mom what do you mean by that? I asked with a smile.

I heard you bully students and isn’t that exactly what you’re doing right now?

Oh! C’mon mom, who the hell gave you that false information, I don’t bully. What would be the reason for me to bully my fellow students.

I wasn’t bullying her, I just came to thank her for coming for my sister since I haven’t had the chance to. I lied

Tessa is she telling the truth? She asked her

“Yes ma, she is” Tessa replied

You had better not, you should expect the worse treatment from me if I later find out you do that. I don’t care if you’re my daughter or not, I’m not raising you to be the bad egg in the community… Mom said and left

She followed immediately but I made sure I whispered “Be warned” in her ear.

⏰HOURS LATER⏰
Babe, mom just called me to tell me she’s woken up but the doctor said she’s got a memory loss, so I think that’s better because it’s what we’ve been praying for… I said to my friends on call

“Yeah! Our prayers has been answered” Tessa replied.

“You should be more careful with her so mom wouldn’t vet suspicious of you, okay?” irene added

“I will, thanks. Gotta go now, Bye” I said and hung up to go prepare the meal mom asked me to.

Welcome back mom, how is she feeling now? I asked as she returned home from the hospital.

She’s getting better. The doctor said she wouldn’t be coming with us till tomorrow when she’s been tested to be fine, she can then be discharged.

So should I go pack the food so we’ll take it to her?

Yes, I need to go freshen myself up, make sure you get it done before I return…. She replied

🌺TESSA’S POV🌺
The issue has died down because they couldn’t find an evidence and the victim was said to have gotten a memory loss.

I’m glad she recognises I and some other people. I made sure I’m always with her so she’d be abit safe.

We were studying together in the library when Ashley came to us. “Hi girls” she said to us

Hi! I replied perfunctorily.

Uhm! I need Stephanie’s attention for a moment, she said and I eyed her.

For what? I asked

C’mon, don’t be like that. “Sis, I need to see you for a moment” She said to Steph.

“Alright, let’s go. I’ll be right back Tess” she said and left with her.

🌺STEPHANIE’S POV🌺
I saw how discomforted Tessa was when I oblige to follow her. But I was just curious to know why she asked to see me.

So, where are you taking me to? I asked as we walked

I just want you to meet my friends, they’ve been asking to meet you… She replied

Alright! I said and she pushed me with her shoulder, making me collide with a guy.

What was that for? I asked immediately I composed myself.

“I’m sorry about that” I apologized to the guy, but why do I have a feeling I’ve had an encounter with this guy before? I asked myself.

The guy shot her a glare before walking away and she smirked too.

“Girls! She’s here” She announced as we got to the empty class they were sitting.

“Girls! Our attentions are needed in the classroom right now” Tessa said, as she rushed in when I was just about to have my sit.

We all rushed to the classroom and met our homeroom teacher and the principal in there with some papers at their front.

“You all should settle down and maintain decorum right away” The principal ordered

Now take your time to answer the questions in the paper you were given. He ordered again and we started almost immediately

Seriously guys, what was that? Everyone asked themselves.

It was really an unexpected test, what’s really happening? Tessa asked me and I shrugged.

I just hope we all pass and they tell us what it’s meant for on time…I replied

I was told to inform you of the arrival of your homeroom teacher in fifteen minutes time. So y’all should wait behind till he arrives…. The head prefect said when he came in as we all were packing our books, ready to go home.

I’m sorry y’all weren’t informed beforehand, that was just to test your abilities for the Inter school quiz competition that’s coming up.

I’ll call the two students that scored the highest grade in the test and they’ll be the ones to represent us.

There are two stages, the first, initial and the final stage… If we happen to be among the schools that’ll compete at the finals, then it’d be a great honour to our school.

“So, Stephanie Coker and Carlos Parker. You two should meet me in my office for more discussion, you’ll be representing us in the competition” He announced and my eyes w¡dened as this has never happened to me before.

“I only get to represent my class and it’s within the school, not like this which I’ll have to face lot of faces” I thought… With my face down

“It’s gonna be alright dear, you gotta go now” Tessa said patting my back.

I got out of the classroom with Tessa and met the guy waiting for me.

“Please wait for me in the car, tell the driver to wait till I return” I said to Ashley

So you’re not just poor, you’ve got something in that brain of yours… Dre said as we walked to the teacher’s office

“I’m f-cking talking to you, don’t just keep quiet and act like you’re deaf” he barked when I ignored him.

Excuse me, we’ll have no choice than to return home late if we don’t get to his office on time. I said walking away and he pulled me back.

Don’t f-cking walk out on me, you worthless Vagabond!!! He yelled and I sighed, fighting hærd to hold back my tears.

“Yell at her once again and see what’s gonna happen to you” someone said and we both turned to the direction the voice came from.

Carlos let go of me immediately he saw Kendrick standing afar glaring hærd at him.

I was surprised too, I really wish I could remember all that happened in the past.

I have a feeling I’ve had an encounter with the guy before. Now that Carlos too is afraid of him.

He walked past us without looking at us and we walked to direction of the place we’re headed too.

You two should make sure you come prepared starting from tomorrow, you’ll be spending most of your night in school till the competition ends. The homeroom teacher said and we nodded

“Excuse me sir, I won’t be able to spend the night at school because I’m working as a maid in someone’s house and i won’t be able to perform my duty if I don’t go home” I explained

“Yeah! She’s Ashley’s maid and I don’t think Ashley would allow her stay outdoor for a night. You know she needs to be at her service all the time as the maid that she is” Carlos added

Shut the hell up! I didn’t ask you any question. And what if she’s a maid? Do you know she’s way better than your arrogant self, you’re nothing but a narcissist… The teacher retorted angrily

“Now get the hell out of my office and make sure you do as I’ve said”. He yelled and he went away

“I’ll talk to your Boss I’m sure she’d understand” he said to me and asked me to leave which I did.

“Ma’am, I wanna discuss something with you” I said to Ashley’s mom

“I have something to discuss with you too, but you should go first” She replied

Alright ma’am! I was chose to represent our school in a quiz competition and it was requested of me to spend some of my nights in school to prepare ahead of the competition… I said

That won’t be a problem, I’ve been informed already. And I got this for you… She said and stretched me a carton of new Android phone.

I got that for you. I’ll be traveling to the states next week for my son’s convocation.

You should use that to communicate with me anytime you wanna do. Make sure you keep it Safe, I’ll probably be returning with my son and might need you to make some preparations before we arrive.

Make sure you keep it with you. I know what happened to you wouldn’t have if you had a phone with you to communicate with someone when you’re in danger.

“Don’t misuse it”. That’s what I wanna discuss with you. she said

“Thanks ma, thank you so much I’m grateful” I thanked on my knees.

“I can see you now have a phone uh? Congrats about that” Ashley said coming in my room when I was setting the phone up.

“Thanks” I replied.

You need to get every of the chores I listed in that paper done before you start your extra classes, she said and threw a paper at me before finally leaving.

“It’s my fate” I said and shrugged after reading everything she listed.

🌞DAYS LATER🌞
We’ve started the class already and were given assignments to do ahead of the class.

I was sitting under a tree in the garden, working on the equations given to us.

I suddenly felt a sting on my leg. I spranged on my feet immediately when I felt the pain, only for me to see loads of soldier ants crawling on my leg.

I was busy fighting with the ants when I felt bees buzzing on my head. And before I knew it, they started biting me.

I was running and itching my body like a mad woman that I didn’t even know I was being captured.

I came to my senses when I saw students gathered in the garden laughing hærd at my display of madness.

I covered my face in shame, and ran to the infirmary when I felt my wh0le body swollen.

I was about running out when Carlos placed his leg on my way making me fall flat.

What the hell is happening here? One of the security guards said and everywhere became silent.

I didn’t even know when I suddenly felt weak and passed out.

I woke up few hours later and found myself in the sickbay.

Who brought me here? I thought and touched my head to check if I’d remember anything. I felt my forehead oily instead and check my wh0le body, only to find it oily too.

It was then I remembered what happened. I was busy thinking when the door opened and Carlos walked in.

What have I done to everyone if you in this school to deserve this bad treatment y’all are giving me? I asked sadly

Well! For your information, paupers like you aren’t to be treated nicely by us. You don’t belong to this school.

Besides, your boss gave everyone the freedom to treat you without respect. And I so much hate to be paired with low lives, so if you think I’d let you be my partner in peace, then you’re just being delusional.

“Ask for a replacement or I get you replaced forcefully myself” he said coldy and left.

Oh! My dear little maid, look at you looking like the replica of a toad. Your skin’s swollen really bad, that makes you so beautiful because you now look like your family members… Ashley taunted as she came in with her friend.

What I came her for is your phone. So hand it over to me, my boyfriend needs it for urgently and it won’t be released till he’s through with it. She said

Why my phone? Why don’t you just give him yours instead. What if I hadn’t been given a phone yet? Would you have come to me to find a phone for your boyfriend? I replied

Uh! Uh! She scoffed. Wait a minute! are you trying to sass me?

Oh! Oh! I can see your memory loss has given you the courage to talk back at me since you don’t really know who I am, now give me the phone while I’m being nice… She said

What would I say if mom ask me about it? I asked

Are you so stupid not to know what to reply with? She answered.

Flora didn’t even wait for anyother thing before she came to search my body for the phone.

where is the phone? She asked calmly.

I didn’t bring the phone to school, it’s at the room I stay at night… I replied.

Ashley rushed to me and pulled me by the hair. Where on earth did you keep the phone!!! She thundered

Ouch! I didn’t bring it to class, I swear. I left it in the room. Please my head’s aching, believe me it’s not here with me… I said amidst pain

Then you have no choice than to go and bring it..

That’d be a trouble for me if I’m caught sneaking in… I replied

Irene, check if anyone’s coming. We’ll be going to the room, this fool thinks I’m joking… She said

“Now go in there and bring what is requested of you” she said pushing me to the room.

I prayed silently not to be caught before going in.

I took the phone hurriedly and ran back outside.

“Here it is” I said stretching the phone to Ashley.

“What are you girls doing there”. We heard the principal say. The girls took to their heels immediately and I followed only to be pushed by Ashley.

“Go back! You can’t make him chase us. You should stay behind to receive our punishment”

“Mind you, don’t you dare say anyword about us to him” She said before running off finally.

I tried running to other direction, but unfortunately, he caught me by pulling my dress back.

“I’m doomed for real” I said to myself with my eyes closed
