CHAPTER 2

“We are here.” The driver said to Kimberly and she peeped out of the window smiling widely. She opened the door and highlighted.

She walked to the front, dipped her hand in,side her bag, and brought out USD 25 stretching it to the driver.

“There you go.” She said to him as he received it. He nodded in response and ignited the engine.

She moved back and took a look around the city again. It was way bigger than Golden City.

“I wish I lived here.” She thought sadly.

Just then she remembered she was in the new city for something. To secure a job.

She walked down the path looking around for any companies or school to submit her credentials.

After a short walk, she came in contact with a huge building which happened to be a school. She smiled and walked to the gates.

She adjusted her shirt and skirt, breathing in and out before walking into the school premises.

The security man who was busy sleeping on duty jumped to his feet as soon as he heard the gates open.

“Who is there?” He asked frightening Kimberly who never saw him there.

“Hi. I am Kimberly Johnson, and I came here to check if there were any vacancies.” She said politely with a grin on her face.

“There are no vacancies.” The security man answered angrily because his sleep was interrupted for nothing.

“Are you sure? I mean you are just a security man, how would you know if there are vacancies or not?” She asked knowing she made a mistake talking to him in the first place.

“I should have just asked for the Proprietor instead.” She thought biting her lower l-ips in regret.

“Just a security man, but at least I have something you don’t have. I have a job, now get out!” He said in anger making Kimberly move back a little.

“I didn’t mean to hurt you. I just need to talk to the owner of the school.” She responded but he wasn’t ready to help her anymore.

“Get out!” He yelled making Kimberly feel embarrassed.

“Fine! You can eat the school for all I care dummy!” She responded sticking out her tongue to him. She walked out of the compound with a frown on her face.

She walked away from the school releasing the muscles on her face with a smile.

“Kimberly calm down, be nice.” She said to herself shutting her eyes right there on the road breathing out with her mouth.

She raised her hand like she was performing Yoga, and then she dropped it opening her eyes. She looked around and noticed the people passing were staring at her like she had gone insane.

She quickly kept on walking smiling as nothing happened. After a long work, she saw a large building by her left with had “FIBRE WAY” written largely at the top.

She crossed the road to the other side using the Zebra crossing. And as soon as she got there she promised herself to be nice and never to repeat the mistake she made at the school again.

This company had its gates locked so she had to knock on the gates. She hit it three times and she felt pain in her knuckles making her gro-n in pain.

Soon, she heard a voice from behind the gates.

“Who Is there?” A masculine voice asked.

“Hi. I am Kimberly Johnson and I am here to see the CEO.” She replied smiling.

The gates opened, and the man stuck out his head to look at her.

“Do you have an appointment?” He asked and she shook her head.

“Not at all. I am here in search of a job.” She replied praying inwardly that there would be a vacancy.

“There is no vacancies ma’am, I am sorry.” He said politely making her smile without even knowing.

“It’s okay. Thanks.” She replied and as she turned, she never realized a car was behind her, she almost hit it before falling to the ground in shock.

“Oh my…” She cried holding her leg in pain.

“Why not watch where you are going next time?” A man asked from in,side the car, and she stood up angrily knowing none of it was her fault.

“Why not come off your stupid car and say that to my face!” She yelled hitting the tinted glass at the driver’s seat.

She kept hitting it aggressively until the young man lowered the glass and she was about to hit him when she saw his face.

Immediately she saw his face she was dumbstruck and so was he. They stared at each other for some minutes before Kimberly raised her voice in anger once again.

“Don’t you have a horn In the car? Can’t you make use of it?” She asked angrily. He opened his door and Kimberly leaped to the back to avoid getting hit by the car door.

“You are at fault, Ma’am. Next time you don’t act to lose when you are close to the road.” He started folding his hand and this sent Sparks of fire right into her head.

“How dare you call me loose!! Seriously!!” She yelled louder this time trying to pull the attention of those passing.

“Ma’am, can you please stop all the drama?” He asked enjoying how she behaved so crazy.

“Boss I am so sorry for this, she would leave now.” The security man said walking out the gates.

“Boss? So because you are the boss you treat people anyhow?” She spat angrily.

“Ma’am, can you please stop? Don’t you know him?” The security man asked and she scoffed.

“Do I look like I care?” She asked looking at the young man who kept mute resting his back on his car and staring at her.

“He is Landon Hernandez, the CEO of the worldwide Fibre way.” The security man stated and Landon smiled loving the way he spoke about him.

He expected a different reaction from Kimberly, but the title didn’t seem to move her.

“Well, you can shove the title up your an*s. I am out of here, I have other things to do.” She said proudly walking away.

Landon and the security man stared at her as she stormed away angrily.

“What was she doing here?” Landon asked.

“Boss she was here in search of a job. And I told her there were no vacancies, she acted very calmly not until she fell.” The security men explained and Landon smiled.

“It’s okay. Open up.” He said and the security man ran to the gate to open it up for him.

CHAPTER 3

Kimberly walked down the streets fuming in anger. She knew she messed up again, but this time she wasn’t at fault.

Her stomach grumbled and she grabbed her stomach frustrated. She checked her wristwatch and she noticed it was time for lunch already.

She remembered she still had USD 35 with her, so she decided to stop by a restaurant to take a break and have lunch.

She wasn’t in a good mood because she was still actually hurt. Her ankles were still hurting badly and she had to keep leaping.

She cursed under her breath as she noticed the way she attracted people’s attention to herself because of the way she was walking.

Finally, she saw a restaurant and she leaped Into the restaurant quickly. She sat on the nearest chair next to her and breathed out loud.

She dropped her bag on the table and lifted her legs rubbing her ankle, giving it a slight m-ssage.

She gro-ned in pain for some seconds, but after the constant m-ssage, it felt fair.

“Hi Ma’am, Can I have tour orders?” A female attendant asked me and Kimberly nodded.

“Can I have the menu?” She asked and she nodded smiling. She passed the Menu to her and Kimberly began to go through it.

“I will have this.” She said pointing to the Caesar Salad on the menu which cost USD 10.

“Okay.” The attendant replied walking away, and Kimberly gave a fake smile.

She couldn’t stop fuming in anger because of what happened at the company minutes ago.

“I mean, who the f**k does he think he is? Since he is the CEO of a worldwide company, he should be on the net. How come I haven’t seen him before?” She thought grabbing her phone.

She went straight to her Google, and typed ‘The CEO of Fibre way Worldwide’.

Then the results came, and it happened to be the mean guy, Landon Hernandez. The results have caught her attention, she decided to read more about Landon.

His achievement, his relationshΒ‘p status, his flaws if possible. She got to realize that he wasn’t just the CEO of Fiber way, but also the CEO of many other companies and small like Restaurants, and Schools.

She also read that he is a single man, not ready to mingle. She scoffed as she saw this.

“Who would even want to mingle with an*s like him?” She questioned herself.

“Ma’am, here Is your lunch. Enjoy your meal.” The attendant said placing the food on the table and Kimberly put her phone aside hungrily.

She picked up the fork and then something drew her attention. The name of the Restaurant which she didn’t notice before walking In. It happened to be on the plate of Salad, and when she saw what the name was, she was shocked.

‘Fibre way Foods” was printed on the plate, and she called back the attendant.

“Sorry, Ma’am, who knows this restaurant?” Kimberly asked looking at her and she smiled.

“Oh, are you new here?” She asked her looking surprised.

“Yes, it’s my first time,” Kim replied and her mouth curved in form of a circle.

“No wonder. It’s Landon Hernandez, he owns almost everything in Mystic Falls.” She replied and Kim nodded slowly. She looked for the name of the attendant on her uniform, and she got it.

“Thank you, Dian,” Kim said and Diana looked at her name printed on her shirt.

“You are welcome, Ma’am.” She said Walking away.

Kim sighed picking up her fork to dig into her Salad. She opened the plate hungrily and dipped the fork in,side it, packing some of the Salad, she put it in her mouth and began to chew.

She heaved deriving satisfaction from the taste. She kept digging in, and in when she noticed them rushing out of their working positions.

She was forced to look up and then saw Landon Hernandez walking into the restaurant. Her eyes wΒ‘dened and she bowed her head avoiding his face.

“What do I do now? I can’t leave now! I am not done with my Salad, and I am way too hungry.” She cursed underneath her breath.

She reached for her bag, trying to pick up her file to use it to cover her face, with her head bowed.

All this while, her eyes were shut pretty tight because she was trying not to think of what would become of her when Landon sees her.

Landon looked around the Restaurant after he had greeted him already, and then he saw a lady sitting around the corner with her head covered with a file.

The lady looked so familiar to him and he decided to get a clearer view of the person.

He walked closer and then he realized it was the Lady that couldn’t stop scre-ming in front of his Company.

“Look who we have here.” He started grinning. Kimberly bit her lower lip hΓ¦rd knowing she had been caught, but then boldly moved the file from her face and looked up.

“And look who we have here.” She replied pretending not to have seen him before. Landon smirked looking at what she had in front of her for lunch.

“It seems to be enjoying yourself in my Restaurant, after the stunt you pulled earlier,” Landon said drawing the chair in front of her a little before sitting on it.

“Your restaurant?” Kim asked pretending not to know again. She picked up the plate used to serve her and checked it right in front of Landon again.

“Oh, so it’s yours. I should have guessed so because the taste s-cks.” She said making an irritated expression.

“Really? but you seem to have almost finished it.” Landon responded
.
“That is because I don’t waste things. I am out of here. Next time, you work on your dishes okay?” She asked walking away but Landon stopped her.

“Advice accepted. Your Money please?” He asked and Kim felt embarrassed In front of the workers.

Angrily, she reached for her bag and pulled up USD 10, making sure she made no mistakes pulling out more than that.

“Her e!I pay for my food always.” She said proudly and Landon moved out of her way.

She stormed out of the restaurant, but right before then, Landon saw something drop from her bag as she kept awaying them.

He moved closer and saw it was Money. He picked it up and counted it, it was $25USD.

“She would come, back for the money, and I would be so glad to meet her again.” He thought grinning wickedly.
