DEEP AFFECTION
EPISODE 49

Chief Daniel and Marie drove into their mansion with their expressions exuding much anxiousness, they were very much curious to know what was wrong with Richærd and Joy, there was no doubt that there was something putting them in distress..
Immediately Chief Daniel parked the car in the garage, Marie opened the door and rushed into the building while Chief Daniel followed behind,
They stomped into the sitting room only to find everywhere calm and noiseless, there was no sign of someone being the wh0le building,
“where had they gone?” Marie asked no one in particular,
“I know how to find them, but that would be only if they had gone out with any of my car” Chief Daniel said and scurried out..
He headed straight to the garage and searched through meticulously,
happiness eloped his wh0le body as he found out that three of his car were missing meaning that they had gone out with it,
He quickly brought out a device from his br-ast pocket and pushed the green button on it making the screen of the device lighten up,
All his car has a micro ch¡p attached on the bonnet to make it traceable, he clicked on some button on the device and just immediately, a red blinking light appeared on it,
“let’s go, I know where to find them” Chief Daniel beckoned to his wife who had been staring at him for a while,
They both drove off through the gate with much acceleration,

Paul stood at the middle of the sitting room in his house waiting patiently for David, today was the day they had sscheduled to set out strategy on how they would avenge on Chief Gabriel and the others, it was an hour past now and he couldn’t catch a glimpse of David, he had called him countless time but got no reply so he decided to track his location through his phone number,
He rushed up to the computer room and quickly began the tracking, it took him close to am hour before he could find it, he installed the location into his Android phone before rushing out, he quickly dashed into his car and drove out in great speed..
After a long drive, he finally reached the place where he had found out to be where David was through his phone, he looked around the wh0le surrounding with confusion written all over his face, the place was a calm with nobody passing through the way, both sides were covered with bushes and there was no sign of house or building around it
Paul walked over to the car which was carefully parked at the corner of the road and opened the door of the car only to find David’s phone lying at the front passenger’s seat, he took it and scrutinized his eyes all over it before looking around the wh0le place which was still serene and quiet,
He exhaled heavily and turned to leave but just then, he heard the sound of a car coming forward to his direction, this made him stood still resting his back on the car waiting for the car to come nearer with the thought that it may be David,
The car drove to his direction and stopped, the door went ajar and to his dismay, Chief Daniel and Marie his foster parents came out,
“What are you both doing here?” Paul asked immediately with a scowl,
“we are here for Richærd..if you know where you have kept him go and bring him out now!!” Chief Daniel bellowed loudly
“what made you think I’ve any business with that dumb son of yours..Incase you aren’t aware, I came here to look for David” Paul said turning his gaze randomly,
immediately Paul said the name David, Marie felt her heart flipped, the thought of the David he just called to being her child flashed through her mind but she quickly waved it off,
“why would it be in the same place where we just found out Richærd was?” Chief Daniel asked
“I don’t know” Paul retorted angrily
“okay..i tracked Richærd down here through this car, so you what made you think your so-called David is here” Chief Daniel asked again making Paul glare at him,
“I tracked him through his phone which I just found in,side this car, so just stop asking me those annoying question of yours” paul blurted and walked further away from both Chief Daniel and Marie, the truth was that he now hated them so much for everything, that was the least thing he had ever thought for himself, waking up one day in his life only to be notified that the people he had grew up all through his life to know as his parent weren’t his parent, it really pained him,
His gaze was fixed to the bush with his arms across his chest, tears was warming up in his eyes as his heart became heavy in sadness,
Just then. someone placed his hand on his shoulder making him cringe a little,
“Paul, I know you are saddened because you found out we aren’t your parents, I know how it feels but it’s better we tell you the truth than concealing it because it is bound to cause a big havoc in the future, Paul take heart and be strong okay?” Marie said in a calm and caring voice which did well in soothing Paul’s heart and body,
“I’ve heard you” he said drying his eyes
“If you have truly taken my word, then turn your face to me smile because I’m really missing it” Marie said making Paul feel better,
He turned to her slowly and smiled broadly before hugging her tightly,
“okay go and hug your father” Marie said while Paul walked toward Daniel and hugged him tightly,
“thank you both for fostering me” Paul said jovially,
“thank you too..”

Clara stared at her boss with determination, she knew a day like this would surely come but she had not knew it would be this soon, she had noticed it that her boss was really finding a way to bring her down, although she was his student but on seeing how powerful she had grown to become he had always envied her,
Rex had a smirk on his face as he stared at Clara, his heart was really pounding in immeasurable joy, this was what he had longed for so many years, a day he would bring Clara down, his envy had grew a thousands folds the day Clara had accomplished a mission which he barely escaped alive, he had hated her instantly but had concealed it waiting for the appropriate time to fight clara to death, there was no doubt that he was much more stronger and powerful than Clara but he knew that without treading carefully Clara may defeat him due to her swiftness and agility,
“Clara, what are you doing here?” he asked with a mean face
“it is something personal so I think you don’t have to know” clara replied bluntly
“uhmm, well, if it is something personal like you said then why are you using my men in this!!” Rex said with a strong tone,
“I didn’t forced them into it, they volunteered to help me” clara retorted
“without my consent, you went ahead and assembled my men into a mission, what does that means! it means you want to rip me off my position as the boss..yeah that’s it but you know what?..today would tell who is gonna be the boss because in both of us, one person is going down, there can’t be two sailor controlling one sh¡p, one person must die for the other to rule” Rex said making Clara arched her brow in confusion,
She averted her gaze upstairs where David and the other were and she felt perturbed. she couldn’t think straight anymore, what was she gonna do now?
She was just between the blue sea and the devil..David and the rest needs her help and here is her boss challenging her for a fight,
“David I’m sorry” she mumbled and faced Rex with a serious countenance clenching her fist tightly after shoving off her gun away, there was no way she was going to fight her boss with a gun because it would be fruitless..
Both of them stared at eachother with a tightened fist, the sitting room was wide giving them space to get ready for the fight,
They began to move slowly In an anticlockwise direction and at the same time closing up the gap between them,
Rex’s fist tightened up the more in anticipation, his blood boiling up with his taste for her blood, he had sized up Clara with his eyes and really felt elated to stand a chance to fight his successor, someone he had feared may sometime soon took over him even before his death, he was sure of defeating Clara easily and that made a gloating smile escape his l-ips,
For Clara, the major purpose for the fight was for David who needs her help upstairs, she was determined to fight with all her strength and tactics so as to defeat her boss to create space for her to rescue David who she would never want to be hurt, another reason for her to choose the fight against her boss was to be free from the assassin clan she was, bringing down her boss would make it possible for her to live a free life and stop the assassin life she had been living in.
Both were less than two metre closer now, they could almost hear the sound of each others heart beat, the distance was closing in and the peering into each others eyes were getting deeply and intense,
Clara was the first to launch an attack which didn’t caught Rex unaware, he swerved to the side making her blow which she targeted at his face run in the air, She was quick to follow up with another blow with her left hand to his right chin but her fist met his wrist and her knuckles cracked hærd. She took a step back as she tried to absorb the pain on her knuckles, she looked at Rex’s face and the lines formed on the face was an evidence of an evil smile,
He launched the next attack, sending a blow to her face but she had her hand crossed diagonally stopping his fist. He was quick with his follow up as he leapt and turned round in the air, sending her a well calculated kick with the back of his foot. But he landed without his leg touching her face. She had been quick to see it coming and had bent backwards down, extending her palms to the ground with which she supported herself and flipped backwards.
Both stood three metres away from each other now. Each one’s legs slightly apart and fist raised in the air as their eyes remained on each other’s faces.
Clara folded up her sleeves likewise Rex,
she threw a blow directed to his chest but Rex didn’t only dodge it this time but had her fist stuck in between his elbow. He twisted her arm with his and tried to reach for her other arm but she bent and wriggled out of his grip with a muffled gro-n. He had held her by the shoulders before she recovered and sent a headbutt directly to her face making her land with her butt to the floor.
Her vision was blur for the first three seconds and then she saw him clearly, standing a metre before her, still waiting for her to rise as he rubbed his forehead with a finger.
Clara straightened her nose with her fingers as she rose to her feet and placed her legs widely apart to ease the pain she felt from landing on her butt. Rex was ready for her again and was halfway in the air, turning to her with a kick. The adrenaline rush in her system relieved her temporarily of the pain as she leaped away from the direction of his kick and met his th-gh with a heavy kick sending him to the floor unexpectedly. He landed on his back heavily but he was up again in three seconds. His eyes were on her as he straightened his neck by bending it sidewards and clenched his fists again.
Clara rushed towards him targeting a kick to his chest but he held her foot in his palm and tried to fling her away but she had wrapped her second leg around his neck and both of them landed on the floor Clara on the side with Rex’s head in between her leg and his knees on the floor. Rex was first to recover from the fall and he sent her a blow in the butt immediately, making her release her grip on his neck. He climbed over her immediately, pinning her thighs to the floor with her knees and sent her two blows on the face, she stopped the third one and pushed him away from her body.
He was up again before her and he rushed back to her while she still tried to recover from the pains on her knee and face. He grabbed her two hands and pulled it to her back while she was still on her knees trying to get up. He held her hands to her back in one of his and tried to press her from the shoulder down backwards, with the aim of bending her into two by forcing the back of her shoulder to the back of her foot but Clara did not allow him go far with that. She was able to struggle off her hands from his grip and fall sideways, pushing him away with a kick to his chest.
She was still with her back on the floor when Rex rose up again. He pulled her up with his hands below her chin and sent her a headbutt again. This time she didn’t fall but only staggered backwards a bit. He rushed towards her and tried to pull her by the shoulder but she grabbed his fists in hers and twisted it, sending him a kick in the g—n simultaneously. He staggered back and stumbled but he was up again immediately. She rushed towards him and sent a kick with the soles of her feet to his chest before he could make any move, sending him back to the floor with a thud.
Rex took more than four seconds to recover this time and that also gave Clara enough time to ease some of the pains she felt,
She stood upright glancing at the upstairs, she could hear the sound of gro-n and wail faintly and the voice was no other person than David and Richærd, her heart ached that moment, her wh0le body shook in great fury,
with the speed of light she lauched a heavy blow straight to Rex’s l-ips, just tha same time, she picked a little rod lying on the floor and struck it directly to his head making him stagger backward, she raised the rod to hit him the second time but he caught it immediately and struggled it off her hand,
He took it and struck her head with it twice making her fall heavily on the floor with a loud thud, He flinged away the rod and moved his finger to his head, he felt something liquid and thought it was sweat but as he brought to his view, he found out it was blood, the sight of this made his wh0le body shook in great fury, his anger shone in much anger, he felt really insulted to be the first to have blood out of his body, He wiped off the blood with the sleeve of his shirt.
This is time to show her who is the real boss, this is time to show her what it meant to be the boss of the nefary clan,
He looked outside through the open window and smiled wickedly, it was already dark and that would aid his victory, he quickly took out a small knife from his trouser and flinged the it to the power switch of the light in the sitting room and just immediately, everywhere went dark,
Clara’s eyes w¡dened in fear, this was what she had prayed not to happen, this was just her main weak point, this was the only way her boss could get her,
Rex had learnt how to fight in the dark through a man no one knew and that was why he was made the boss. Clara knew she had lost the battle,
She stood up peering her eyes through the darkness trying to know if she could get the position of her boss, she was still moving her gaze randomly when a metallic object hitted her back making her stagger forward, another hit went to her calf making her legs quiver, another hit landed on her head making her fell in the floor exhausted,
Rex struck her countless times on her belly making blood gush out from her mouth, not until Clara couldn’t make a movement Rex never stopped hitting her hærdly…
A broad smile appeared on his l-ips as he felt Clara go limp, he stood up and raised his hands in victory with a gloating smile..
“you will serve as an example to everyone out there trying to overthrow their boss” he said laughing hysterically..
