I dropped the knife I was holding, washed my hands and wrapped them around his neck.
SAM
I missed you too, in fact I almost came to knock your door but I held myself.
PAPA
But why sam? What happened?
SAM
You should know better, you are a pastor, premarital s€× is a sin before God we might think we are in control now, what if he lose it? And commit beside I’m eeh never mind.
PAPA
You are what? ( I gave him my babyish look) I know that look sam but it fine if you don’t want to tell me.
I sign and brought down my hands.
SAM
Go take a shower, breakfast we be serve in 10minutes.
PAPA
No, I rather join you in making the breakfast, I won’t be going out today.
SAM
Wow! That means we are going to be in this house together? I love that.
He smiled and frown almost immediately.
PAPA
About the s€× you talked about, I wouldn’t dare to touch you sam. I know it’s a sin so you don’t need to worry. (he touched my cheeks). I smiled and hug him, this man is driving me crazy every minute. We finish cooking, he went to take his bath, and I did the same. Ate breakfast and sat down in his room, he brought out his iPad from his bag and started showing me picture, some he was holding a very dark and beautiful woman, and the rest he was siting with a sick woman in a hospital.
SAM
Who is this daddy? (pointing to one of the pic)
PAPA
That’s my late wife, when she was in California.
SAM
Was she sick? What kind? (with concern in my voice) he smiled got up from the bed and went to stand close to the window.
PAPA
She had blood cancer, so we admitted her in one of the best hospital there in California, they said she will get better but she was going worse each day. (tears in his eyes). I felt pity him so his wife had cancer? Jesus wept I can’t begin to imagine how much pain he must have pass through.
SAM
I’m so sorry daddy, I never knew.
He smiled, no one knew I didn’t tell anyone that my wife died I told just my ministers.
SAM
So what about your kids?
PAPA
I have non, she could not keep any of her pregnancy due to the cancer, she always has a miscarriage. Oh my God this man has really gone through a lot yet he could act this strong before people?
SAM
But why didn’t you tell your people, the church what happened?
PAPA
I don’t know why, I kept it to myself every year I give them different reasons why ‘their mummy could not make it this christmas’

SAM
You should let them know, you own the that. You should have said something why didn’t you say anything? Sharing sometimes helps in healing your broken heart or soul.
PAPA
I could not believe Martha was dead, I didn’t want to believe it so I did a quiet burial for her in my home town, with three of my ministers around. They have been on my neck to inform the church but I couldn’t accept the fact my Martha was no more (he sob more).
SAM
It’s ok, God knows best, you loved her and I know she loved you too. Every space she left behind I will fill it with love and happiness I promise. I held his hand he shook violently in tears. I place my lip on his, I k-ssed him, he tears dropped in my mouth, it tasted salty but who cares? I love him and his in pain all I can do now is make him feel better. I placed my hands around his neck and k-ssed him more, he k-ssed back and held my wa-ist too. Not long he let out a soft mo-n. I smiled his better now so I pulled away from the k-ss.
SAM
You going to be just fine ok? But you have to promise me that you will tell when we return back home.
PAPA
Alright. I will tell them but on one condition. What like seriously his giving me conditions now? What a man.
SAM
Ok what condition (smiling)
PAPA
You won’t be leaving me here on Friday please. I let out a loud laughter like seriously? That’s the condition?
SAM
I have no intention of leaving again daddy, I was sacred of admitting my feelings towards you and now I know you love me too why should I leave? He smiled snipped and hugged me. “Thank you for making me love again sam” he whisper into my ears. “Thank you for allowing me show you love too” I whispered back. We held each other for God knows how long. I love papa so much and knowing he has been hurt badly yet his heart is still open to care for others made me love him more. God make him my husband and I will forever remain grateful to you. The rest of the day was on eventful, we cooked together ate, took our bath (separately oo) watch movie for a while then we went in,side to sleep. He wanted a good night k-ss but I hugged him instead, the weather was kinda cold k-ssing might lead us to something we didn’t plan for so I resisted. He smiled as usual and hugged me back before he went in,side to sleep. I got into my room, I checked my phone I had 6 miss call from my boss and 2 from desmond, quickly I called my boss first then he gave me the news.

I picked up my boss and called my boss back, he picked at the second ring.
SAM
Good evening sir?
BOSS
Where have you been sam? I called like a thousand times.
SAM
I’m sorry I missed your calls sir, I was busy outside.
BOSS
(he sign) it’s alright, how have you been?
SAM
Great sir, God has been so good to me. How are you sir and everyone in the office?
BOSS
We are all fine, we all miss your babyish character here in the office.
I chuckle, why do people keep saying that? Babyish? For Chris sake I’m a full grown woman.
SAM
I miss you guys too. So what’s up? I know your calling isn’t because you miss me.
He chuckle too.
BOSS
I want you to return back home, during the weekend because by Monday you will be traveling to Canada for a business deal.
My eyes pop open, return home? But I told him I was going away for a month it’s barely a week and he want me back?
SAM
That’s not fair sir, we agreed I was gonna stay away for a month, it’s not even a week yet.
BOSS
I know sam, but you know only you can Crack this deal, you have got all it takes babes.
SAM
I’m having the best time of my life now sir, I can’t come back please. Send Val his good too. Please sir.
BOSS
I wanted to send him but Val is hospitalize.
SAM
What? What happened to him?
BOSS
He had an accident two days after you left.
SAM
I feel sorry for him. But still I’m not coming back ooh.
BOSS
Sam, I want you back here in my office by Monday and that’s an order. (he hung up). I was so filled with rage, what nonsense if you are ‘stupid people complain’ and when you are smart and intelligent people use it to their advantage’ in this case now I regret why I’m not stupid. If I’m stupid they won’t even border giving me this deal to handle. I got up from the bed to the kitchen to get water, I t-rn on the kitchen light and I almost passed out of fear. Papa was in the kitchen too. Water in his hand.
SAM
Holy cow, you almost scare me to death daddy. Why didn’t you t-rn on the light?
PAPA
Nothing, I know the direction of the fridge so I felt there was no need to t-rn on the light.
SAM
And why ain’t you sleeping?
PAPA
You want the truth?
SAM
Who doesn’t like truth? I love truth so tell me (I smiled at him and he smiled back show me his side dimple)
PAPA
Couldn’t sleep. Just one night you slept in my arms and I’m addicted, (he moves closer) just stay with me tonight in my room please.
SAM
