CHAPTER 56…. 🌹

“huh” .. mira exclaimed surprisingly to look at the person whose arms she was in.

She gasped shocked. And before she could say anything he pushed her.

Luckily for her , Ezekiel caught her from behind.

“What the hell are you doing in my house?” Damien yelled leaving Mira very confused.

” Your house? ” She asked mostly to herself.

“Yes my house. Ezekiel, what is this?” Damein asked as he ran his hand in his jet black hair.

Ezekiel helped Mira to stand properly in case she was still sleepy but sleep was far from Mira eyes. Especially with what she had just heard.

“Calm down Damien” Ezekiel said softly.

“Calm down?!!! What do you mean by calm down? Why is she here?” Famine demanded immediately.

” She lives here Damien” Ezekiel said and Mira looked back and forth at them. Why didn’t she see this earlier in the office?
They had a striking resemblance..

‘could it be that they’re brothers? ‘ Mira asked herself.

She kept on looking at them. Checking out the similarities in their appearance.

” Why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Damien still yelled. Why won’t he just calm down?

” Brother” Anna voice could be heard. She had come out with Isabella after hearing the noise. Leaving Isabella hand, she went to hug Damien while Isabella went and stood in between Ezekiel and Mira .

‘brother? ‘ Mira exclamied again in her mind.

They were related alright. So his the sibling that everyone feared.

At least that’s what the maids had told her.

They didn’t like him too much cause he was too irrational especially when upset.

“God, when did you arrive ?” Anna asked with smiles.

” Today” he answered and turned to look at Ezekiel and the mira. His gaze also shifted to the little girl in between them. Isabella got scared that he was staring at her and shifted to Mira back.

“Mommy,” her squeaky voice called her.

“Mommy!!” Damien exclamied loudly while Mira carried Isabella in her arms.

“What the heck is going on here?” Damien demanded angrily.

” If you would just calm down then we’ll explain” Ezekiel said and Damien sighed.

” Fine. Am listening”

“What do you want to know?” Ezekiel asked.

” Why is she here?” He asked about Mira .

” She has been staying here for a long time Damien” Ezekiel answered and Damien was quiet for a while and looked at Mira. Mira looked everywhere except at him.

“I want her out of here” damien finally said and Mira’s mouth dropped.

” What…. why?” Ezekiel asked .

Anna signalled Mira giving her eyes signals.

This was the perfect opportunity Anna wanted.

” Mira is not going anyway damien” Ezekiel said with finality in his voice and Damien smirked.

” No…it’s okay Ezekiel. I’ll leave. ” Mira said after understanding what Anna eyes signals meant.

” What ..no way….” Ezekiel was about to disagree.

“You know this is what I wanted . I’ll leave..it’s fine” Mira said softly.

“Mommy, where are you going? I want to come with you mommy” Isabella said after listening to them carefully.

Damien couldn’t understand what was going on here…why is his niece calling a stranger ‘mommy’ ??

This was something he would ask Ezekiel later or probably tomorrow. Now he needed to rest.

Mira tried to convince Isabella that she couldn’t come with her and would rather stay with daddy.

“I’ll visit every weekend okay?” Mira said and Isabella nodded.

“Am coming with you Mira ” Anna quickly announced and Damien froze.

” What…why?” He asked.

” Cause,I want to” Anna answered blandly and Damien rolled his eyes and left.

” He’s probably mad right now” ana said with a chuckle as she went to whee mira stood with Ezekiel.

“Hope your happy Anna?” Ezekiel finally asked. He saw the signals Anna had given Mira. He was tired of objecting anyway.

Anna smiled at him.

“Make sure you inform mom and dad before packing out” Ezekiel said and finally left.

“yes” both Mira and Anna said at the same and high-five.

….. early the next morning……

Mira and Anna were already up. Mira set up the things for Isabella school and of course for her work and Anna helped too.
When they were done, Isabella was woken up and prepared for school.

“Mommy, who was that man yesterday that was shouting?” Isabella asked while Mira combed her hair.

” He’s your uncle baby” Mira answered. Anna was on the bed arranging Isabella school bag.

” I don’t like him ” Isabella concluded.

“Shhh… don’t say that” Mira cautioned.

” But he shouted at you yesterday mommy” Isabella pouted

” It doesn’t matter. He’s your blood. Your dad’s brother and ofcourse aunt Anna brother too” Mira said .

” Tell me something…do you love Daddy and aunt Anna?” Mira asked as she finished braiding Isabella hair just as she had done yesterday.

“I do mommy” Isabella answered while nodding her head.

“Awwwwn” Anna ch¡pped in.

“So you have to love him too cause he’s their sibling okay?” And Isabella nodded.

“Come on… school bus will soon be here”

Mira went back upstairs as soon as Isabella got in the school bus. She found Anna on a video call with Kira.

“Are you serious?” Kira asked. Seems like Anna had already told her.

“Yesss..am so happy. Now we’re gonna be roomies” Anna squealed and Mira chuckled. She jumped on the bed near to Anna to join the video call.

“Yayyy… Guess what?” Kiar said.

“Tell us. You know guessing is hærd” Mira immediately declined in the guessing part.

” You could have still tried. Anyway…I got the perfect apartment for us girls” Kira announced.

” Wait..what? So quick” both Mira ad Anna exclaimed and looked at each other.

“How did you know that Ezekiel would eventually allow this?” Anna asked.

” I can never underestimate the power of my girls” Kira replied and winked making Mira and Anna laugh.

“So today, in the evening,we can just check it out. What do you say huh?”

“Okay.. can’t wait”

Mira prepared and left for work immediately. The car had already been repaired thankfully.

She rushed to the elevator. She had to finish yesterday’s work before Damien would come.

Coming out of the elevator,she bumped into Layla. Mira just hissed and passed her. Heading to her desk just outside Damien office, she sat down staring at the paperwork in front of her

“Time to work”

CHAPTER 57…. 🔥

He watched her as she left the mansion using their car. God, how much freedom was she given?

Firstly, she slept in the room that everyone else uses..

Second, she worked at the family company without interview..

And now, she was allowed to use the card here…

‘is mom and dad aware of this? ‘ he asked himself. He stopped the hot tea Mabel had given him.

He went to the garden and found Ezekiel sitted with his laptop. A cup of tea was near him. Seems like Mabel served him tea too.

“Kiel, we need to talk” he said and took a seat between Ezekiel.

” Am listening” Ezekiel replied without taking his eyes off the computer.

” Don’t you think she has too much freedom?” He started. Ezekiel already knew he was referring to Mira.

” Why do you think so?” Ezekiel asked back .

” She literally uses everything everyone else use”

” She is family Damien”

” That why Isabella calls her mom, isn’t it?” Damien asked and took another sip.

” Yes. Afterall, she took care of Isabella all these years” he replied.

” She shouldn’t call her mom. How do you think Isabella, your late wife and her real mom would feel wherever she is?”…. Isabella was a very sensitive topic that Ezekiel didn’t like talking about

Finally, he looked up from the laptop.

“Damien,I know she’ll be happy that her daughter has a motherly figure in her life. ” Ezekiel replied and drank the last tea.

” But…”

“No buts Damien” Ezekiel immediately cuts him off and gets up…” You know this is a very sensitive topic. I don’t want to talk about it” saying that he left.

” Darn it”

Soon, afternoon would reach. Luckily for mira, she was almost done and soon it would be lunch break. She didn’t have opportunity to go for the break yesterday but today she would.

Soon she concluded everything and was arranging the documents when Ezekiel came to her desk.

“Hey. Aren’t you going to have lunch?” He asked.

“Oh, you” Mira smiled then continued to arrange the files.
” I will. Just want to drop this on his desk”. Mira said.

“Okay” ..
He watched her finish arranging everything and enter his office to keep it.

“Okay. Erm….do you want something?” Mira asked Wondering why he was still here.

” Yes.”

” Tell me”

” Let’s have lunch together”

w(°ｏ°)w…Mira was surprised hearing that. Somehow,her cheeks were turning red as she contemplated on the offer.

“Please” he pleaded and look into her eyes seeing that she hadn’t responded

“Okay. If that’s what you want” Mira finally said breaking the eye contact.

“Thank you”

They went to the canteen together. Everyone stared in awe as they passed and sat at a table.

Layla watched angrily as she stared at Mira sitting and laughing with Ezekiel.

“Isn’t that the employee?” One of the ladies on the table near Layla stayed said

” Yes. She started yesterday” another replied.

“And she is already dining with Mr Ezekiel… OMG”

” Maybe he likes her”

” Why won’t he? She’s quite pretty”

” Not as me. Am more prettier than her and as well more endowed than her”

” She definitely has some guts”

Layla couldn’t handle the gossips around her so she got up and left back to her office.

“So much for lunch” she sighed. And began pondering how Mira mustvhave possibly gotten so close to their boss.

“What is their relationsh¡p about?”

Soon, lunch was over and Ezekiel headed back to work and so did Mira.

Although she didn’t like the stares she got but Ezekiel told her not to worry about gossips. People will always do that.

“Mirraaaaaa” she heard someone yell her name when she came out from the elevator. She found Damien at her desk.

“In my office now” he commanded and entered his office.

Mira could feel her heart beating quite fast. What has she done wrong this time?

Slowly, she entered his office and was shocked. All the papers she had arranged on his desk were scattered on the floor.

“What is the meaning of this?” He demanded angrily.

“I….I…. didn’t do it” Mira tried to defend herself.

“So I did?”

“No…i….” Mira didn’t finish her statement when he grabbed her by the hand . He dragged her not minding the stares they got till they got outside.

“Thomas” he called out his driver when he got to the parking lot.

“Sir” he answered.

“Get me the toothbrush” Thomas went to get it. His car was so messy. Mud was splashed on it .

“Give it to her” both Thomas and Mira was confused but he gave her the brush anyway. Mira took the brush with confusion in her eyes.

“Scrub the car”
