CHAPTER 74 AND 75… 🌟✨

“huh?? Me?? How??” Mira asked surprised. How can he say she caused the scar on his tummy? She never knew him until just recently.

“Never mind” he immediately said and Mira nodded.

“Stay still. Don’t move” she commanded and for some reason, Damien found himself obeying her as she quickly rushed outside and came back in almost immediately with a little tube cream.

She came closer to him and helped take off his shirt. Although he didn’t say anything.

Standing in front of him, she opened what she was holding and Damien eyes immediately w¡dened when she squat right in front of him. He could feel his face becoming red in embarrassment.

“What the heck are you doing?” He said wanting to move away but Mira held his leg firmly with one hand.

“Stay still okay.” She commanded again.

“This is inappropriate…”

” Oh please” Mira interrupted and rolled her eyes. ” What are you hiding that I haven’t seen before?” She said and applied some of the cream on her hand.

Before Damien could reply,he felt something cold on his tummy. The scar precisely. And it was cold but it felt good. He didn’t know when he closed his eyes enjoying the feeling of her fingers on his tummy.

“This will help the scar clear. Here” she handed the cream to him as she got up. Damien cleared his throat before talking.

“I don’t need it. Clear this place” he said sternly and walked out shirtless.

Mira sighed and dropped the tube cream on his desk before packing the documents to take out and rearrange… For the third time.

She divided it into two Halves as they were much.

After carrying it for the second time, she met some of her colleagues gossiping and of course Layla was amongst them.

Mira didn’t want to hear what they were talking about but they were so loud that she couldn’t help but hear it.

👥Hey guys, don’t you think Mr Damien and I would make a great couple?. Said Layla

At that last statement, all the ladies attacked her for saying it. Mira couldn’t even help but laugh and Layla heard it.

“Hey, boyfriend snatcher, why are you laughing huh?” Layla yelled from her desk when she heard Mira laughing.

” Mr Damien won’t even look at you twice talk less of dating you” Mira insulted

” How dare you? Do you think your prettier than me?” Layla yelled in anger again

” Does that question need an answer. You look like an expired product”. Mira said and rolled her eyes. She didn’t mean to insult Layla but she remembered that she hadn’t given Layla a benefitting reply last time

“How dare you?? Who do you think you are?” Layla wanted to walk over to Mira desk. But the ladies around her managed to hold her down. Fighting was against the rules and they didn’t want to lose their jobs.

Kate , Ezekiel’s PA sat down and folded her arms smirking. The drama was really fun.

“Damn. You hit it hærd Mira” she chuckled. Mira’s part caught her very much.

“Hey girls, no need for fights” Kate finally spoke up loudly for everyone to hear.

” She started it. How dare she call me expired product? Not like she even pretty” Layla said angrily.

” You know am way prettier than you Layla”. Mira replied and stuck out her tongue at Layla.

👥OMG…

The comment of her fellow colleagues spiked her much.

” You b*tch” Layla yelled. “He can’t even stand the sight of you. He hates you. He told you to wash his car with a brush. Can’t you see miss pretty face”

Mira was about to reply but Kate interrupted.

” Hold on ladies. I got an idea” everyone went silent to hear what Kate had to say.

“Mira, you think Damien will never notice Layla cause she ain’t pretty enough and Layla you think Damien hates Mira right? ” Kate asked and they both nodded along with other ladies in the office.

” So why don’t I challenge the both of you. First person who can get Mr Damien attention wins” Kate proposed and Layla smirked.

” No am sorry I can’t… ” Mira couldn’t do this . She too didn’t like Damien.

“Scared.. wanna chicken out from this challenge?” Layal mocked in a babyish tone and smirked which angered Mira.

” Fine. I’ll do it” Mira said gritting her teeth.

“You both are in right?” Kate asked to confirm.

“Yes”

“Yes” both replied at the same time.

“Good. You both have one week to capture his attention.” Kate concluded.

” Wait… ” One of their colleague interrupted. ” What will be the prize for the winner? ” She asked and everyone murmured agreeing to her question.

Kate had a huge smirk on her face as she thought of the prize. ” The loser will ” she paused and stared at all the anticipated faces waiting to hear what she will say. ” Will quit her job working here” she said and everyone gasped.

All the color drained out from Mira faced. But Layla was smiling and looking confident.

“I can’t wait for you to leave Mira” Layla said inwardly with a evil smile.

Mira could feel her palms becoming sweaty.. why did she agree to the stupid challenge? What if she loses? She didn’t even know how to get any man attention talk more of Damien. And remembering how he walked out on her earlier on without saying thank you is a reminder that he didn’t like her.

So how will she do it?

“Good. The challenge starts tomorrow. Since that’s over. Everyone ..please get back to your business and stop the noise. I can’t concentrate in a noisy area” Kate said and faced her computer as everyone got back to their work.

While she faced her computer, Kate smiled secretly. She had reasons for purposing the challenge between the two of them.

For starters, she was in love with Ezekiel. And she had notice that Layla was trying hærd to gain his attention. Which was working gradually. And so far, she was the only one close to him till Mira came.

She saw how he defended her when damien told her to wash his car and how he smiled and laughed with her when they had lunch in the cafeteria. She was new and she already had his attention while it took her months for Ezekiel to be comfortable with her.

She was jealous of Mira and this was the only way she could divert her attention. Now she would have Ezekiel all to her self.

She bit her l-ips to stop the smile that was sneaking in on her l-ips.

Mira was done with arranging the files early but Damien hadn’t returned so she took it to his desk and dropped it there. She also made sure to lock his door so that no one would sabotage it again.

It was closing time and she immediately went outside thinking about the challenge she had accepted when a car honked at her. She was so absent minded that she passed the car.

“Hey what are you thinking about?” Ezekiel asked as soon as she got into the car.

” Nothing really. Was thinking about….erm… my mom” Mira lied but then she immediately remembered her mom.

“How is she?” She asked softly.

“She’s doing good. Don’t worry. Soon you will meet her” Ezekiel replied as she ignited the car and drove off.

Soon, he parked his car at a restaurant named “CHEF VUITTON” . It was a very popular restaurant in the area. It’s food were affordable and were classy. So, it was meant for both the rich and the poor.

Ezekiel got down and opened the door for Mira like a gentleman and Mira smiled before placing her hand in his .

They held hands as they both walked in together.

“Here is really nice and pretty” Mira said with her mouth opened as she admired the interior of the restaurant. The restaurant was painted golden yellow and it gave sparkles all round.

Ezekiel chuckled at her choice of adjective to describe the restaurant.

They both sat at a corner since that was the only available space. Ezekiel didn’t book any special reservations so people stared at him in awe especially the women. He could hear murmurs but he ignored it and focused on the woman in front of him.

Mira finally stopped staring at the restaurant and turned to see Ezekiel staring at her. She faked cough and Ezekiel snapped out from his thoughts.

“Order” Ezekiel told her in a soft voice and picked up the menu searching for what to eat. While Ezekiel went back to staring at her.

‘she’s so perfect’ he said in his mind as he stared at her hair cascading down her shoulders and slightly blocking hereyes as she was looking down at the menu.

He frowned slightly before using his hand to move the hair to the back of her ear.

Mira was surprised and looked at him

“I’ll have jambalaya special with orange juice please” she whispered and he nodded and signalled on the waitress.

The waitress came and was surprised to see Mr Lockhart here. She was overwhelmed in fact.

“Mr Lockhart,what will you like to have?” She said giving him sed-ctive looks. Mira noticed it and frowned.

“I’ll have jambalaya special with orange juice please” Mira said instead and the waitress eyed her but Ezekiel didn’t notice.

“Sir,what about you?” She asked ignoring Mira.and Mira scoffed before folding her arms.

” Same thing ” he simply said without looking at the waitress at all.

” Sure sir” the waitress left disappointed that Ezekiel didn’t even spare her a look.

” Why are you looking like that? Anything wrong?” Ezekiel asked seeing the pout on her face.

” It’s nothing” she said and Ezekiel smiled.

“You look cute that way” he said and Mira glared at him. Then the waitress came along before she could speak.

She noticed that two buttons of her shirt were already unbuttoned and she bent extra hærd when dropping the food

Mira rolled her eyes and adjusted her self preparing to eat. Once again Ezekiel didn’t spare her a single glance before eating. The waitress left disappointed and Wondering who Mira was that he had been staring at her only.

They ate and talked at the same time enjoying each other company while other ladies stared at them envying Mira and wishing to be in her position. The waitress was also envious and angry staring at Mira. She felt like strangling her.

She paced up and down waiting for them to finish their dinner while plotting on ways to gain his attention.

“Tomorrow, you and Damien will be going for a meeting in New Zealand with to final our contract with our new investors” Ezekiel said as he dapped his mouth with the handkerchief. Mira froze and looked at him.

“Why do I have to go with him?” Mira asked with her heart beating fast.

” Because Damien was the one who got the contract for us and as his PA, you will be escorting him” Ezekiel explained and Mira nodded.

” Is he aware of this?”

“Yes, he is. Am surprised he hasn’t informed you about it yet”

Mira suddenly lost appetite to eat. She should be Happy right. This would give her a chance to win the challenge but she felt a sick thinking about it.

“It’s just for 3 days…you both should be back before Saturday” he informed seeing the look on her face. He knew Mira didn’t like Damien neither did Damien like her too but it’s Damien contract not his.

” What will you be doing instead?” Mira asked as she cleaned her mom and finally stopped the remaining juice.

“I’ll be preparing for Isabella birthday. It’s just a week or 2 from now.”

” Oh right. My baby.. I need to start planning what I’ll give to her as a birthday gift” Mira said and was thinking while Ezekiel called on the waitress who came almost immediately. He gave her his card for payment.

She left immediately but came back .

“Soon, the card is saying decline” the waitress and Ezekiel looked at her surprised while Mira had a suspicious look. Unfortunately, she had no card nor cash on her so Ezekiel got up and went to the counter.

Mira packed her Bag and waited for Ezekiel till she saw the waitress trying to r-omance and sed-ce him.

The waitress suddenly hugged Ezekiel. Ezekiel was push her away but rather Mira walked up to them and pulled the waitress by her hair before slapping her across the cheeks.

“How dare you touch my man?” She yelled in anger while the waitress looked stunned holding her cheeks.

“Your man?” She was surprised to hear that. Everyone knew that his wife was late and he was currently a single dad and was in no relationsh¡p so why was a lady claiming him.

People looked at the scene and murmured and some took pictures and videos while Mira dragged Ezekiel out of the restaurant and they entered the car.

Mira was still fuming in anger while Ezekiel drove. He was happy and sad at the same.time.

Mira just declared herself as the woman in front of so many people. That was sure to get on the news. But she wasn’t talking to him. She looked expressionless.

He stopped the car in front of their new apartment but Mira hadn’t gotten out yet.

“Mira” he called out to her but she grabbed her bag and unfastened the seatbelt.

“Good night Kiel”. She quickly left the car and went in,side. Not looking back. Ezekiel bit his l-ips and stared at her silhouette before driving away.

Mira got in,side and found Anna and Kira in the sitting room watching a movie.

“Hey girl” they both said but Mira ignored them both and entered the room before Bolting the door.

“What’s up with her?” Anna asked and Kira shrugged before focusing on the movie.

Mira rested her back against the door and placed her hand on her chest. Her heart was beating fast. She was surprised by her actions. How can she declare Ezekiel as hers without being married to him yet. Or even dating him. What was she thinking??

She certainly wasn’t in her right senses. She lost control of her emotions. It was clear that the waitress was trying to seek Ezekiel attention to become his woman but that irked her.

She took deep breath before walking into the bathroom with her clothes on.

She took a quick shower and came out. Then a message popped on her phone. Checking it , she saw it was from Ezekiel. Her heart was literally slamming against her chest. She opened the message which read..

“A driver will pick you up tomorrow by 8 and take you to the airport where you and Damien will board a plane to new Zealand. Goodnight” he texted and added a blue heart emoji.

Mira sighed but didn’t bother to reply. She plugged her phone, got dressed in her PJs and hopped on the bed. She hugged her pillow so tight while recalling the drama she performed today.

“Mira wake up. Have you seen the trending news?” She could hear Anna banging on her door. She stirred before getting up fully. She checked the time. Thankfully,it was still quite early. She opened the door with sleepy eyes but was faced with Anna phone.

It was a trending news on Instagram..
