*MYSTERIOUS LADY DECLARES EZEKIEL LOCKHART AS HER MAN*

Mira eyes w¡dened when she saw the headline. She grabbed Anna phone and kept on scrolling. That was the trending news. Some even went as far as to post the video but luckily for her, her face wasn’t properly shown in all. Which means paparazzi won’t follow her since they didn’t know she looks.

“This ain’t me” Mira denied and walked away from the door heading to her wardrobe.

“Liar liar, pants on fire. This clearly what you wore yesterday. So gist me babe. When did you and Kiel become a thing” Anna asked but Mira rolled her eyes and ignored her.

“Mira. This ain’t far. Gist me girl” Anna said pouting and Mira faced her.

” Listen. I only said that to save him from the waitress claws” Mira said before dragging Anna up and pushing her out and slamming the door.

” Hey.. that’s rude you know” Anna yelled before going to meet Kira.

Mira immediately took her bath and had her breakfast and at exactly 8am,the driver was in front of their apartment waiting for her.

She quickly bade her friends good bye and ran out with her small bag to avoid questions from them.

“Good morning Ma’am” the driver greeted and Mira responded before turning on her phone and gazing at the news. She was really trending on the internet with almost a million views. Sighing she turned off her phone when she almost got to the airport.

Arriving at the airport, the driver offered to carry her bag but she refused. She was taken to any part of the airport where they weren’t much people there.

She saw the sign board clearly written “VIP PLANE” . Seems like only her,Damien and the guards will be entering the plane.

She met him talking to one of his guards outside the entrance of the plane and Mira could feel her heart beating. What if he saw the news about what she said about her and Ezekiel in public.

Mira secretly hoped that she won’t be shouted on by him.

“Good morning sir” she greeted as she passed him and he only nods. She entered the plane and immediately settled her self before Damien and his guards entered. Then the pilot too entered and soon the plane took off.

†NEW ZEALAND†
* 8am *

The flight was a 16hours journey. They landed in new Zealand by 2:56 but since New Zealand had 18hours time difference from America,it was morning in new Zealand.

Mira sat alone all through the flight. As a matter of fact, everyone sat alone including Damien. She fell asleep during the flight and was woken up by one of the guards.

From the airport, they were driven to where damien and her would stay. The drive didn’t last too long and it was filled with silence. It made Mira wonder whether Damien had heard the news or he chose to ignore it.

She contemplated several times on whether to start a conversation with him but she couldn’t bring herself to. So she kept quiet all through. Soon they arrived at the hotel and both got down.

Ever since she had been living with the Lockharts, they never seized to amaze her with the kind of places they go to. It was always big and nice and fancy and she is always left in awe .

“Good morning sir. Welcome to STAR LIFE HOTEL. Would you like to book a reservation??” The receptionist asked as soon they got in,side.

” Yes. Room for 2″ he replied. Mira just stood behind him as she continued admiring the decor.

“Oh. Am sorry sir but all rooms are booked. Just a room is left” the receptionist said and he glared at her. Fear gripped the receptionist when she saw the look in his eyes. He looked very angry at what she told him.

“Where’s the manager?” He demanded and before she could answer, someone called out to him.

“Good morning to you Mr Damien. Fancy you being here” he said with a smile.

“What does she mean by all rooms are booked?” He asked ignoring the manager greetings.

” Well, the governor is here and will be hosting a party three days from now so all rooms were booked except one” the manager explained.

” I want two rooms ”

” Am sorry we can’t help you” the manager said .

“This is my hotel” Damien yelled attracting attention to himself. Mira eyes w¡dened. This was his hotel. God, who knew?!!

“Yes. But the hotel policy forbids us in favoritism. Which is why we can’t ask a guest to leave a room for you.you made the laws Mr…not me” the manager replied with a smirk and Damien gritted his teeth.

Yep, that was the law and no one could disobey it. Not the president nor anyone including him.

“Let’s go” he said coldly to Mira and walked away. Mira hurriedly followed him quietly.

They got to the room which was so big and wide with a huge king size bed enough to contain five people.

“When your done, get dressed. We are going to meet our clients. You have ten minutes” he said and left the room.

Mira immediately did as he said and got changed before going out to meet him

At exactly 10am,the meeting with the investors started and both parties discussed the benefits, deals and contract. Everything was concluded successfully and about 3pm,the meeting ended.

Damien was outside with Mira reviewing the notes she took down during the meeting before one of the upper heads in the company walked to them.

“Mr Damien, congratulations on us becoming partners in this contract” he said and offered his hand for a handshake to Damien. And also did the same with Mira.

“We’ll be holding a small party at my place in the evening. I’ll like to invite you two personally to come.” He said but Damien kept quiet…” Please,do not refuse my offer” he added and Damien nodded agreeing to come.

*Back in America*

In anger, she threw her against the wall and it shattered into pieces. She couldn’t believe the news she saw on her phone. It was all over the internet. She even watched the video and without being told twice, she could tell it was Mira’s voice.

She looked at Ezekiel’s office which was closed cause he wasn’t around.

“Why are you doing this to me Ezekiel?” Kate muttered sadly before getting up to look for Layla. She found her in the mist of their colleague.

“You!! Aren’t you supposed to be focused on your challenge?” She asked. Her eyes red with anger.

” What do you mean? Mr Damien isn’t here” Layla answered confused.

“Thats because he travelled outside the country with Mira. And guess what,am sure she will grab the opportunity to win this challenge” Kate yelled and left living Layla fuming in anger and surprised.

“I won’t let you win this Mira”

**IN THE EVENING**
NEW ZEALAND

Damien parked his car at the address where the party will hold . They came much later than planned because of trying to get dress for Mira as she didn’t pack anything fancy for such occasion.

They had already announced the reason for the party when they had arrived so it was the all dance session they had come to meet with.

While damien sat talking with his fellow make partners who were there. Mira sat down doing nothing. She was bored and lonely. So she summoned up courage to go to Damien.

“Would you dance with me please?” She asked politely and Damien looked at her surprised. But he quickly masked it up before denying her request.

“No. As you can see, am busy here” he said and Mira went off sadly.

Not too long later, a guy came to her and offered her a dance which she happily agreed to.

“You look really pretty young miss” the man complimented and Mira blushed.

” Thank you” she managed to say. At least someone noticed that she looked nice.

” What’s your name?” He asked and Mira looked at him skeptical Wondering whether she should tell him her real name.

“My name is Michael. Can I know yours?” He asked in a more friendlier approach and Mira nodded.

” Mira” she said with a smile.

Damien took a sip of his drink as he watch Mira dancing with a guy. He had already rejected 3 women who offered him a dance so now he sat down watching Mira dance with others. He saw her smiling and the man whispering in her ears and he scoffed.

“She’s having so much fun while am here” damien said to himself. Then Mira switched her partner and now she was dancing with yet another guy.

And this kept on going on for twenty minutes with Mira switching partner and earning a scoff from Damien each time she did.

“God. My legs hurt badly” she goraned in pain as she walked to damiem after dancing with the tenth guy.

“Hope your done dancing with all the men here?” He asked bitter.

” Well you refused to dance with me. So it’s your fault” she immediately said.

” Let’s go” he said with a glare and Mira followed him limping slightly. Soon she was three feets away from him. He was walking too fast for her tired legs to catch up. The weather had already changed and droplets of water could felt on her body.

” Hold on please. Your too fast.” She shouted but he didn’t listen. Rather he increased his pace giving Mira more struggles. But actually, he needed to get to a safe dry place before the rain starts if not….

Then he stopped suddenly when he got closer to his car. He could hear faint beeping sound. He began wondering where it was coming from before realization struck him.

“Run Mira” he suddenly shouted and Mira became confused. Damien had to grab her hand and was running with her. The rain has already started pouring heavily and he could feel Goosebumps already filling his body.

“Oh no” he lamented. His eyes s₱0tted a shelter not too far. They were still some distance near the car.

“Ugh..my leg” Mira cried out and he stopped running. He had long let go of her hand and was running trying to save himself but now, her leg was stuck in a ditch.

“Try and free your leg Mira” he shouted. His breath getting heavier the more the rain touches his skin.

“I can’t” Mira cried and damien contemplated on whether to go to the shelter or save Mira first.

After making his mind, he was about to save her when the car exploded finally. The explosion made Mira fall but her leg was still stuck. Just as damien had suspected,a bomb was planted in his car.

“Mira,are you fine?” Damien called out as smoke had already gathered around them.

“Yes” she said coughing and still trying to free her leg. That’s was when a hand touched her. She was about to s¢ræm since she couldn’t see who it was in the smoke until damien spoke.

“Stay still. Lemme help you” he said and tried freeing her leg. After much effort, the leg came lose.

” Thank ….” She couldn’t complete it with a ‘you’ because Damien fainted on her.
