CHAPTER 83 and 84… 🧡💜

**THE NEXT MORNING**

Mira got down from the bed tired and exhausted from yesterday. All she needed was rest and sleep but unfortunately, she had work. She immediately took her bath before heading to the kitchen where Anna was already awake preparing noodles for Kira.

“Good morning” she greeted as she went to the fridge and grabbed the milk.

“Morning.” They both replied .. Kira sat on a dinning chair pressing her phone while Anna was focused on cooking.

Grabbing the cereals, she poured it in a bowl and mixed it with milk and sugar before eating

Anna served Kira the Noodles. Kira took cheese and mixed it with the noodles. She looked up and found Mira and Anna staring at her weirdly.

“What the heck are you doing? Cheese and noodles?” Anna asked making a disgust look.

” What?!! This is what I feel like eating right now” Kira said with a shrug and started eating.

” Yummy” she said licking her l-ips

” I didn’t know food craving starts at two months of pregnancy” Mira said.

” Neither do I. This taste great. You guys should try it” Kira told them

” I think I’ll pass ” both Mira and Anna said at the same time.

” Hey.. I thought you said your brother slept over last night. Where is he? ” Kira asked.

” He left early. Seems he had something important to do” Anna answered and Kira nodded

” Good morning sir” Kate greeted as Ezekiel passed her but he only nodded.
This made Kate sad but she didn’t show it on her face.

She heard someone laughing behind her and she turned to face Layla who stood there happy.

“Oh I get it. Seems like your crushing on your boss. Too bad” Layla mocked but she glared at her and continued her work.

Then suddenly, a voice started talking.

“Hope you have done what I asked you. Make sure Mira drowns before you leave else I won’t spare you” the voice from a recorder said and Kate eyes w¡dened. That’s because that voice was hers but she never said such thing.

“Now do you think my threats are empty?” Layla asked with a smirk .

” What did you do? I never said such words ” Kate said getting up and trying to snatch the recorder but Layla was quick to hide it.

“If you tell anyone that I planned that accident of Mira then I will show them this record and push the blame on you. Afterall,I have evidence to back it up but you don’t. Don’t try me Kate” Layla said smiling triumphantly and left . Kate could feel tears filling her eyes. She wiped the tears and continued her work with shaking hands.

Then Mira came by and greeted her.

“Is Mr Lockharts in?” Mira asked and Kate nodded not saying anything. The moment Mira entered in Ezekiel office , Kate broke down in tears.

“Mira ” Ezekiel called out to her the moment she stepped in. He immediately stood up and hugged her tightly.

Mira hugged him back and inhaled his scent . “You smell so good” she whispered unknowingly and Ezekiel chuckled but didn’t say anything. They stood in that position for some minutes Before breaking the hug.

“Am glad your okay. I called you several times but you didn’t pick up. I was worried” he said and led her to the chair where she sat down.

” Oh yes. My phone was switched off that’s why. Sorry for making you worried.” She apologized and he nodded. Her eyes landed on a nylon bag on his desk.

“Is that take out food?” She asked and he nodded arranging some things on his desk.

” Are you hungry? You can have it if you want” he told her.

“Really? ”

” Yes. Am not too hungry.” He tidy up his desk and took the nylon bag before Mira could . ” Come over”… Mira looked at him confused but nevertheless, she got up and walked to his desk and before she knew it, he carried her and placed her on top of his desk facing him.

Mira watched as he opened the food and scooped a spoon of rice bringing it to her l-ips.

“Say ahh” he said and Mira blinked at him twice before opening her mouth for him to feed her. Her cheeks were already red from this little act of his.

“Remember when you were sick fro the poison you drank and I fed you all through the period of your recovery? ” Ezekiel asked and Mira nodded.

He really took care of her that time. Guess that’s how they became so close till now.

“I miss those times” Mira whispered and Ezekiel smiled.

Just then, Damien and Kate entered and met the sight. Actually it was Damien who barged in while Kate tried to stop him but couldn’t. She was even more hurt when she saw the scene and left sadly.

“To my office Mira” he said coldly and left. Mira looked back at Ezekiel and sighed.

” Guess am leaving” she got down from the table and pecked Ezekiel cheeks before leaving which had him smiling all day.

” Here. Take these and arranged them and take them to the account department.” He instructed without looking at her .

He was back to his sour mood . Did she do something wrong?

Looking at him now reminded her of last night. She didn’t mean to hug him but she had a nightmare and she was scared to her wits.

Mira stood wanting to apologise but the look on his face wouldn’t let her do so. She just carried the papers and walked out.

Mira heard a noises and left her work . She went the window and founds cops arresting Layla. She was s¢ræming and yelling like mad woman but the cops did their duties and carried her away.

“Why are they arresting her?” One of her colleagues who too was peeping asked.

” I really don’t know. I heard it was sir Damien that ordered her arrest” another replied and Mira looked at them.

Why would Damien order Layla to be arrested? Mira thought.

But she eventually waved the thought and continued her work. Soon Damien walked in and went straight to his office without sparing her a glance.

Mira immediately got up and entered his office with some papers.

“What do you want?” He asked coldly.

“Erm. I was wondering… Why… Erm… Was she arrested? ” Mira decide dto ask instead rather than beating around the bush.

“Because she was the one who ordered you to be push into the pool yesterday” he said And Mira gasped.

She couldn’t believe that Layla would stoop so low . Not in her wildest dreams did she imagine her doing that to her.

“Was she there at the hotel?” Mira asked .

“No.. she hired someone to do it. How does Layla know you can’t swim? ” Damien asked finally looking at her.

” She…. I… We both attended the same high school. She was my rival then. She once tried this before.” Mira explained and Damien nodded.

” Are you done with what I gave you?” He asked

“Yes.”

“Good. Pack up … I’ll meet you outside” he instructed and Mira nodded and left.

She packed up her stuffs Wondering where he was taking her to since it wasn’t closing hour yet.

She went out of the company and waited in the parking lot and soon Damien joined her and gestured her to the car.

“Where are we going?” She decided to ask when he ignited the car.

“Swimming pool” he answered.

“Huh?”

Damien waited patiently for Mira. She was in the changing room about to wear her swimming trunks.

He dived in the pool since she was taking too long. The scene of her and Ezekiel constantly replayed in his mind. He couldn’t help but feel jealous and angry when he saw them. He wasn’t supposed to be but he was.

It was frustrating. He immediately pushed the thoughts aside as Mira walked in.

The swimming pool was his personal own in his penthouse. He just brought her for a little swimming lessons.

He froze when he saw Mira walking in her bikini. She was simply breathtaking. And she didn’t look shy like he had expected. Rather she looked confident.

“Hey. Am ready” Mira announced when she got to nearer to the pool.

Damien didn’t say anything. Rather he pulled her into the pool and into his arms.

Mira was shocked as she didn’t expect it. His arms were tightly on her waist as he stared at her.

He leaned in a bit. ” You look hot ” he whispered to her making Mira turned tomato red. She didn’t even know what to say. She was just speechless.

“Let’s start shall we?” He asked slowly letting go of her waist. Mira looked away too shy to look at him in the eyes but she nodded to his question anyway.

“I wouldn’t want anyone to use water against you again so I think it’s best if you learn how to swim..okay?” He said again and she nodded still unable to talk.

“Here” he handed her a floaties which she took as he removed his hand from hers.

“The way you feel while holding this floatie is how you would feel without it. This is just to help keep you balance in the water…..” Damien immediately started the lesson while Mira listened attentively nodding and following his instructions.

… EVENING…

As soon as Damien concluded the lesson,they both got dressed and had lunch together before they left his penthouse. He decided to drive her home directly.

On their way home,their car had collided with someone own. The driver was a lady who was careless as she was drunk while driving.

Damien got down while Mira stayed in the car as he inspected the car angrily.

“Look what you did” he yelled at the woman who had refused to come down from her car. They had already caused a traffic jam.

Mira sat in the car restless and wondering why he was still there and why they other car owner hadn’t come out yet.

But this wasn’t worth fighting for as Damien was already rich but he looked so upset.

Mira got down and walked over to uk trying to convince him to control himself and just leave but then the woman got down from the car.

She got down cause she was shocked at who she was seeing in front of her.

“Mira…how is she alive?” She asked herself looking at Mira speaking to damien.

She immediately got down to confirm who she was seeing whether it was real.

“Mira” she called out to her. And Mira turned to face the woman

“Lady Ri ”
