KAMMA’S REGRET
EPISODE 2

Mama just poured the egg on ADAOBI’S face. Ada added pepper to the egg. it went straight into ada’s eyes.
—JEEEZ, my eyes ooo, my eyes ooo, mama my eyes, oh my God. (she tried reaching the tap in the kitchen but mama used a bowl to cover the tap.) oooooh God, my eyes oooo. where is this tap na? (mama tip-toed to her room. farouk the gate-keeper heard ada shouting and came to her rescue. he removed the bowl mama used to cover the tap and led her close to the tap.)
—-madam, farouk called out, you no get am for mama ko? You wan die hia? mama go kill you o. madam abeg, make u dey go your mama house. mama wicked fa. walahi my oga call , i go tell am. E don too much faaaa. (he left crumbling in hausa language)
ADA had brusies from the flogging she received from mama. ADA has brothers. four for that matter and they are rugged. as in rugged. well connected to BAD GUYS.
—-(hmmm, ada cried as she soliloquies) if i go home like this, umu nnem eme nwanyi a 60 makachi (my brothers will deal with this woman, i swear to God.) and it will affect my marriage with my husband. my husband is a good man o but his mother. hmmm!!. i just don’t know why and how i’m calming down for this woman o. chai, this world eheee. na me person take dey do wickedness sample so? issorite. shey na because of marriage, no wahala.
ANAYO visited his mum and saw the brusies on ADAOBI and went mad.
—-Mama negodu ihe imere nwa mmadu. (see what you did to someone’s child)
—–she wanted to beat me(crying)
—-big lie, mama big lie. i know you na. you know i know you. onye aruru ala. mama stop this thing you are doing. all your children gbalu gi oso (ran away from you) because of your character. anya-ufu nke gi, obi ojor nke gi, (you are full of jealousy and wickedness) this girl will not stay with you again. ADAOBI, let’s go to my house.
ADA quickly went upstairs to change and pack few things.
when she came down, mama faced her.
—bia ada, if you leave this house,be ready to give Collins plenty explanations because i don’t know where you are.
Adaobi followed Anayo to his house. ifeoma, Anayo’s wife saw Ada and shouted,
—Jesus!!!, Ada, what’s all these marks on your body?
Her husband replied
—–mama o. mama used cane on her.
—-cane kwa? nawa o. nnem, please come and bath. hmmm, cane on a full grown lady, somebody’s wife.
That night, mama called collins.
—–hello (crying) nna, i’m all alone in this house. since morning i have not eaten anything. your wife has turned into something else. she has not slept in this house for 2days now. i have been sick. nobody to cook for me.
—-nnem stop crying. so ada had the guts to leave you all alone in that house? where did she go to? mama stop crying. drop this call, i need to call her.
ADA’S phone was ringing but she was fast asleep. ANAYO and collins are not in talking terms all because of MAMA. Anayo came to the sitting room that night and saw Ada’s phone ringing, it was his brother calling.
—HELLO
—-what!! replied collins. how dare you pick my wife’s call? what is a married woman doing in your house?
—-my friend calm down and listen now replied ANAYO.
—–oh you’re shouting at me? you are sleeping with my wife and you’re shouting at me? i will locate you when i come to nigeria and bl©w out your balls.
—-NWOKEM will you keep quiet? it’s ANAYO your brother.
—–liar, is that what she told you to say? like my mother doesn’t know my brother, her son any more and besides, my wife won’t step foot into Anayo’s house. We are not in talking terms. i seriously warned her not to. Tell her i’m coming back soon for both of you.
ANAYO’S WIFE CAME INTO THE SITTING ROOM.
——Obim ogini? is that not Ada’s phone?
—–yea. i heard it ringing. when i saw it was collins i picked it. i wanted to use this opportunity to tell him what his wife is going through with mama.
—-Hey obim, mba nu. you shouldn’t have. you know you guys have issues because of this same mama. you shouldn’t have picked.

EPISODE 3
Ifeoma, Anayo’s wife, walked into Ada’s room.
-Ada, good morning dear, hope you slept well?
-good morning ma. yes i did. thanks to you and your husband.
-Ada, i am so sorry about all you’re going through with mama. i went through tougher times till i learnt how to ACT SOFT and PRAY hærd.Ada, this situtation calls for God’s intervention o. i must congratulate you for your-self control but my dear, you cannot continue to do it by your own strength. one day, you will be fed up and be forced to act. You need more than your own ability in this fight. give God space to set the pace.
-senior, ah done hear. you see this church thing, i’m not cut out for it o. i love my husband. my love for him will help me overcome mama’s nonsence. please i’m hungry. gimme food abeg.
-hmmm, ada, i have been through this before, i could not do it on my own until i started ACTING SOFT but PRAYING hærd. i bent my knees for heaven to stand for me. Mama is a manipulator o. you see this love you are talking about? mama in a split of seconds will destroy it. you need to give God space to set the pace. The love you have for your husband is not strong enough to wedge this terrible wind.
–Senior, thank you ma. The food please.
That afternoon, Ada got a call. it’s from her husband.
—hello obim
—wh-re!!! how was last night with your man? Ada, what have i not done for you? what are you lacking? because my mother warned you over your vigorious spending, you angrily left the house. Wait o, did you ever tell your man you are married? he has so gone into you that he now takes your calls?how ironic!! i call my wife and a man takes the call. i work my a$$ out here to give you a better life and how you could pay me back is cheat?
—-honey listen
—-shut up!! who is your honey? listen carefully, as we speak, i have told mama to change all the entrance keys. she should also throw your things out. You abandoned my sick mother for another man? we shall see.
ADA SCREEMED
—Ewooo, chim ooo, mama has kiled me. (she fell to the ground) mama has finished me. what did i do? what was my offence? chim oooo(crying) nne dim egbuo m ooooo(my mother in-law has killed me)
IFEOMA RUSHED IN TO HER.
—ada, ogini? what is it? did somebody die? (she started rolling all over the floor) oh please, ada what is the meaning of this now? please dear, can you put yourself together and tell me what the problem is? what did mama do again?
—-aunty ify oooo, senior ooooo, mama oooo, mama lied.(her face dropped the other way. she had fainted)
—-Ada, Ada, Jesus!! not in my house. not in my house ooo, Jesus come ooo
(she rushed in to get water. she sprinkled and sprinkled and then started pouring, no way. she called her husband. he arrived 30 mins later. Ada was rushed to the hospital. she was placed on oxygen. The doctor, anayo, and ifeoma started a conversation).
—she just started shouting (ifeoma replied), she was shouting mama, mama has killed her. the last word she said was MAMA LIED.
—–who is this mama? (doctor fabian asked)
Anayo and ifeoma looked that themselves.
—-we have to investigate who this mama is.Her blood pressure is really high and do you know she is pre.gnant? she started bleeding when you got here. who knows what this mama did to her. we need to find out please. Her state is very critical one. we would just hope on God. excuse me.
ifeoma and her husband were devasted. ifeoma started praying.
No one knew how Ada’s brothers got to know what happened. Those boys? naturally mad, behavorially insane, morally abnormal. The four of them matched to Collins’ apartment. They met FAROUK. farouk told them eeeeverything as in everything that has been going on. Mama wasn’t around. They decided to wait patiently.
News reached Anayo in the hospital that Ada’s brothers, four of them are in his brother’s house waiting for his mother, he took off. He has witnessed where one of them called ARABA acted. it was bad.
Anayo was caught up in a traffick. He just parked his car and took bike.
mama arrived in ADA’S car with her driver.
ARABA opened the driver’s side.
—my friend jumpuo out. (the driver was trying to drag the door with him. he received a dirty slap and jumped out without knowing) ngwa una(go home)
The one called NSOGBU opened mama’s side.
—–So you are the anu (meat) na hangi mmadu n’eze(hanging on the teeth) he dragged her out and gave her dirty slap. The other brothers started breaking the cars in the compound.
Anayo met them almost beating up his mother.
—-please calm down. biko nu, biko nu!! gbaghara nu biko. (please
forgive)
—-Anayo, nwannem ka mma gi ji eti sampe. (your mum is dealing with my sister) ojukwara ase? (did she ask?) ona omaro?(she doesn’t know?) ADA NNEM. ha!!! nne gi ekuruko nsi o. oga anu ya ka akamu o. (your mum has taken pooh, she will drink it like pap)
After much arguments, they left. mama could no longer stand. she was breathing very fast. The cars in the compound have been destroyed. He rushed back to where he packed his car before he could get back, mama was already unconcious. He quickly put her in the car and drove to the hospital where Ada was.
lo and behold, her brothers were in the hospital demanding their sister should be transfered else where.
After extreme explainations from the doctor, they agreed but told the doctor that no member of collins’ family should come near the door of her ward let alone come close to her.
Mama needed oxygen too. The hospital had just one. She was taken to another hospital.
WEEKS LATER, COLLINS CAME BACK. He reigned fire and brimstone. How he was going to kill ARABA and co, theIr mother, and entire village.
Anayo took the wh0le day to explain. He was the one who took Ada to his house, He was the one who picked that call.mama flogged ada with a cane. All he sent to ada, mama will always seize. Mama is jealous of Ada and so on.
Ada lost her sanity. mama recovered.
