I woke up the next day and smiled,realizing that today is the expiring date of the suspension that was given to I and Madeline.I am gonna go to work tomorrow!

I brushed my teeth,took my bath and wore a nice shirt and short before going downstairs.

I went to the kitchen and I wasn’t surprised when I saw Belle preparing breakfast.And wait..she was operating my phone.

“Belle”.I called and she flinched.

“Am sorry Lin,I shouldn’t have taken this without your permission”.She apologized and I smiled,tucking my hands into my short pockets.

“It’s called a phone”.I said and she smiled nervously.

“Okay”.She said and I stared at what she making

Oh! Hamburger..

“And besides,you can take it anytime you want even without my permission”.I added and she gasped.

“Really?”.She asked and I nodded.

“Thanks Lin”.She said and began operating the phone again.

We both set the breakfast on the dining room before we began eating.Belle already handed my phone to me and she told me she loved the phone.

“So,what do you love about my phone?”.I broke the silence trying to start a conversation with her.

“Hmm..Well,I love staring at your pictures though I find it hærd to believe you take pictures with phones,how is it possible? But anyways I didn’t know how to operate it at first but as days passed by,I became a genius”.She smiled.

“You mean you have been operating my phone for days and I didn’t notice?”.I asked and she sighed.

“Am sorry I didn’t tell you”.She apologized and I nodded.

“It’s okay”.I muttered. “But why do you like staring at my pictures?”.

“I sincerely don’t know,it’s just a feeling that I can’t resist”.She shrugged.

“Let’s take a picture then”.I said and she w¡dened her eyes.

“Really?”

“Yeah,don’t you wanna take one?”.I asked and she rub her palm.

“I do but..I feel nervous”.She said and I chuckled.

“It’s just a picture, it doesn’t bite”.I said and she nodded,still not looking convinced.

“Ok..ay,can we take some pictures now?”.I said and without waiting for her answer,I went to my camera app and began snapping.

I snapped her,I snapped myself and also we took photos together though I kinda laugh with how Belle was posing.Gosh! She looked so funny.

Some minutes after we were done taking pictures,we ate and Belle went to her room to take a bath.

I watched her go to her workplace before switching on the TV,soon enough I fell asleep.

For heaven’s sake,why do I always fail? Why do I always fail to make Lincoln like me,to make Lincoln mine? And damn,I even got us suspended cause of my unnecessary anger and geez,he must hate me now.

You are a failure Maddy,yes you are..

But who the hell is the girl he loves? Who the hell is that fortunate girl?? Gosh! If I ever lay my eyes on her ugly face I won’t hesitate to pull off her hair,slam her head on the wall and peel off her skin.

Lincoln is mine,only mine.

I picked up my phone and called one of sisters. I just want to clear my head,I don’t wanna do anything stupid besides am going to see Lincoln at work tomorrow and am gonna give him a gift so that he would forgive me for making him got suspended.

Yippee! That is a very good plan,why didn’t I think of this earlier?

“Hey Maddy”.My sis said when she answered the call.

Shit! Am looking forward to the day Lincoln would call me by my nickname – Maddy. Oh,I will hold a party that day.

“Maddy,just answer me already.Am sure you are thinking of a guy”.She said and I hissed.

Brat!!

“Just shut your dirty mouth up and listen to me”.I smiled. “I wanna go to the phone store,care to tag along”.

“Well that’s if you wanna get a phone for me”.She said and I scoffed. What a brat!!

“Can you do me a favour, Patricia?”.I was angry.

“What?”.

“Just get out of my phone,you big head”.I frowned and ended the call.

Darn it! She would have known the best phone to choose..

My eyes snap opened and I stared at the wall clock. Oh my! 1pm?? Why is Belle not yet back?

“Belle!”.I yelled and walked to the kitchen but she wasn’t there,she wasn’t even in her room.

I was worried as I walked back to the living room,I wanted to switch off the TV but paused when something caught my attention.

It was a news displaying on the channel in the TV,the headline was what caught my attention,it was;

“FIRE OCCURS AT FLORA’S SUPERMARKET EARLIER IN THE MORNING AT 10AM”.

I gasped,shock taking over every area of my body.Isn’t that the name of the supermarket Belle works in??

Lincoln could be seen entering a taxi,he paid the taxi driver when he stopped him at his destination but was frozen when he saw the supermarket burnt to ashes.

A crowd had already gathered around but the cops was stopping them from entering the already burnt area.

Lincoln didn’t care,he pushed his way through the crowd and when he finally got to one of the cops he grabbed his arm and made the cop stare at him.

“Where is Belle? Where is my girlfriend?”.Lincoln yelled,he looked angry and scared.

He didn’t want anything to happen to Belle,he was even beginning to regret why he ever allowed her to work in the supermarket.

“Young man, all the victims who were saved from the fire are now in Healthy State Hospital”.The cop said.

He didn’t know who Belle is but still this guy should just let go off him already.

“Oh no!”.Lincoln exclaimed and quickly ran off to the hospital which were very popular in the state,every body knows where the hospital is.

He was afraid that if Belle was injured,her wounds would healed in the presence of the doctors and nurses and darn it,he don’t want that to happen.

He arrived at the hospital which wasn’t far away from the supermarket before three minutes and he quickly walked to the reception and the receptionist who was a female gave him a very sweet smile.

“Please,which ward can I find Belle? She is one of the fire victims from Flora’s supermarket”.He said cleaning off the beads on sweat on his forehead.

He was covered in sweats but the receptionist didn’t seem to mind,she was busy admiring Lincoln strong muscles,cute l-ips,attractive eyes and much more..

“Hey! Are you deaf and dumb? Didn’t you hear what I said?”.Lincoln roared and the receptionist flinched.She looks so embarrassed.

“Sorry sir,I was thinking of something and I suddenly forgot the question you asked me”.The receptionist apologized but Lincoln shrugged, he was getting impatient. He just wanted to set his eyes on Belle..

“Where is she? Stop apologizing and tell me where she is”.He snapped and the receptionist nodded sadly.

“Um..all the fire accident victims from Flora’s supermarket are now in ward ten,eleven,twelve and thirteen.Only four victims were saved and…”.The receptionist wasn’t done speaking when Lincoln ran off to ward ten.He was looking scared..

‘Only four people were saved? Does that mean that many people died?’.He thought as he got to ward ten.

The door was closed so he could only peeked through the door but when he did,his expression changed.

A girl maybe six years old was laying helplessly on the hospital bed,half of her hair was burnt and her face were peeling off during to the fire which damaged her face.Oh!

The parents were by her side and they were crying their eyes out looking so miserable. Ow!

He looked away and walked to ward eleven.Geez! He felt so much pity for the poor girl..why did that had to happen to her?

He got to ward eleven and same as ward ten the door was locked. He peeked in,side and the moment he saw what he didn’t want to see,a tear came crawling out of his eye.

It was a young boy in his teens,he was completely shirtless on the hospital bed.His chest which was visible was burnt so burnt that his bones were visible and his heart could be seen beating fast in his chest.

He was unconscious and some nurses and doctors were trying all they could do to keep him alive.

Damn! The sight of all this was making him feel so much scared. What about Belle? If all this happen to this people then what about her??

He was scared!!

He began walking to ward twelve while trying hærd to keep breathing.Oh yeah,he was dying in,side.

He got to ward twelve but this time he was too afraid to peek. What sight was he gonna see? Is Belle even here? Will he ever see her again?

What of if something bad had happened to her? What of if…? Gosh! He was getting so terrified as all those thoughts ran around his head.

And thanks fully,he gathered some courage and open the door so he see clearly of who is in side but surprised the door opened and he was so excited when he saw Belle…his Belle on the hospital bed.

Her head was bandaged same as her arm and a nurse was busy attending to her though she looked weak but at least she was okay. His girlfriend was okay..

“Belle!”.Lincoln yelled happily and ran to her,he hugged her tight not caring about the drip connected to her arm.

Belle managed to reciprocated in smiles but Lincoln was more excited.

His Belle was okay..well not really but she was at least not harmed like other patients but dammit..

Who the hell caused the fire??

The nurse had gone some minutes ago and I and Belle were talking.I was very happy seeing her looking happy.

“So what do you think caused the fire?”.I said and she sighed nervously.

“Well,I don’t think the person actually wanted to get the supermarket burnt maybe the person wanted me to get burnt”.Belle said and I gasped.

“What did you mean,Bel? Did she see the person who caused the fire?”.I asked but she shrugged.

“Truly,I didn’t. I was just standing watching people buy things and suddenly some liquids were poured on my face.I thought it was the children ways of mocking me but when a saw a marches lighten,I realized fuel was poured on my face. I scre-med and the lightened match fell on the floor and unknowingly, while pouring the fuel on my face some fuel fell on the floor so as the lighten match fell in the fuel on the floor,that area started burning and it affected the wh0le place”.She sighed sadly. “I think the person plan was to get my face burnt and ugly”.

Shit! Who was the bastard who did that,huh??

“Um..Bel,are you hungry?”.I asked changing the topic. I don’t want her to get bothered by all this..

“Yes,am a little bit hungry”.She said and I smiled.

“I will get you some fruits then but Bel what if your wounds close up,huh?”.I asked,feeling kinda afraid.

“It is a large cut,it wouldn’t close up quickly it’s gonna take time maybe in the next few hours I guess”.She said and I nodded silently.

“How did you get injured?”.I was curious..

“I was trying to save a kid from the fire but a burning plank hit me on my head though my powers stopped the fire from affecting me but still it couldn’t stop me from getting injured. Also,while I was running some careless people also running pushed me and well I fell on the floor and my arm got bruised”.She said and touched her bandaged arm.

“Am really sorry,Bel”.I apologized.

“Please don’t be Lin,it isn’t your fault and you shouldn’t apologize for what you never caused”.She said and her words made me smile.

“When will you be discharged?”.I asked.

“The doctor says I would be discharged when I pay the bill.He said I was getting better,he was surprised”.She said and I chuckled.

“Did he say how much the bill is?”.I asked but she shook her head.

“Nope,he didn’t but you should go ask him”.She said and I nodded slightly.

“What is his name?”.

“Doctor Wills,that’s what he introduced himself as”.

“Alright,I will be right back”.I said and left the ward heading to Doctor Wills office.

“What am I hearing, Tripp? How the hell did that bitch survive?”.I asked angrily after Tripp answered my call.

He is one of the T boys and he was the one sent to burn Lincoln girlfriend’s face but he did otherwise.

“Am sorry Samantha,it was a mist…”.He was saying but I cut him off.

“I knew it! I knew you guys would come up with an excuse even after the huge amount of money I paid all of you. I should had sent another gang to do this”.I said,my voice rising.

“Am sorry Samantha,she scre-med and I had to run before I get caught and in the process, the already lightened match fell and the wh0le place got burned”.He said and I gasped.

“What?? I sent you Tripp,I sent you to harm only one person but you harmed many.Do you know the danger we all are in? What of the cops find out?”.I rasped angrily. “And why didn’t Timothy do the Job? You all know he is an expert”.

“He refused, he said he don’t wanna do anything bad which would result in hurting Lincoln”.He said and I w¡dened my eyes.

What the hell is wrong with that guy?

“Whatever,I can’t let that bitch get closer to Lincoln.I will think of another plan then I would inform you guys but you all should do better this time”.I smirked happily.

“You can trust us Samantha”.He said and I nodded before hanging up.

Oh,bitch or whatever you are called you will regret loving what is meant for me.
