Nadia!
Episode 17
Frank and mama, rushed off to the psychiatric clinic where Ruth was admitted. The doctor had told them that she was lost in her own mind, that the shock of losing her sister has thrown her into that state. Somehow Frank and mama felt that if she knew that Nadia was fine and safe, she would he fine. Frank hoped and prayed it would be so.
”Ruth, Ruth dear Frank called out excitedly, Nadia is safe, she is fine, can you hear me? Nadia is back, she has been found” but Ruth stared on into the thin air like she hears nothing, mama then suggested that they rake her along with them to go and see Nadia, and that was what they did. They helped Ruth into the car and drove off , they’ve already told Stanley that they were on their way coming.
Ever since the news of her pregnancy, Nadia has been extremely quiet, Stanley didn’t know what to do to cheer her up and so when frank called and told him that they were coming, he was hopeful that maybe they could help cheer Nadia up. And he plans on discharging Nadia to his place today.
They soon arrived at the hospital, frank held Ruth to himself and helped her through the reception Hall and in,side the ward where Nadia was. Stanley saw them and walked up to them, he has been told about Nadia’s sister and so when he saw her he needed no introduction. He led them straight to Nadia, when Nadia saw Ruth she was happy, she sat up and opened her hands wide for a her for a warm embrace but Ruth just stood there , staring into space. Mama ran to Nadia and gave her a tight hug.’ ”my child, my beautiful child, she said amidst tears, what happened to you, oh! God be praised, my heart is at peace, you have returned home to us oh my child, she cried even more checking every part of Nadia who was also sobbing by now. ”What happened to my sister? Why is she like this? Nadia asked. The shock of your disappearance made her be ho into shock that affected part of her brains, she has been in the psychiatric hospital” when Nadia heard this, her heart melted and she held Ruth and she cried, ”my sister please come back, come back to me please, am here now, am okay, please I need you, come back to me please……she cried! ”Nadia , Nadi, is that you? They all turned in surprise, it was Ruth, yes sis, its me, Ruth turned and looked at her. ”Its really you Nadia, please forgive me Nadia, where did you go, where were you? ”Sssssshhhhh Nadia hushed her, its okay sis, its not your fault. I am so sorry for walking out that day without you, it was the biggest mistake of my life, please forgive me. They both held each other and cried, mama was also crying and the twins couldn’t help but wipe small small tears from their eyes each of them pretending not to be seen by the other. They wondered the level of love this two girls shared among themselves. After some time , Stanley told them all the doctor had said, including Nadia’s pregnancy. He took his time to explain all that has happened to Nadia, the kidnap, the rape, the snake bite and the escape. They all assured Nadia that whatever she decides to do with the pregnancy, they would stand by her, be it keeping the baby or aborting it.
Mama insisted that Nadia will go home with her, she wanted to take care of Nadia herself. Nadia was very happy and grateful to God for giving her an amazing family. The family she thought she had lost has been replaced by God. She also told them that she needed time to think of what to do with the pregnancy and they nod in agreement to her.it was not long before the doctor came and finally discharged them. They waved at him joyfully as they headed home together in franks car!
Episode 18
Nadia and Ruth were taken home by mama and the twins, the boys have decided that the girls remain in mama’s house so she can take care of them. They know their mom loves the girls and they see how health has increased since the girls came along. Mama was also very happy that the girls were back, she will gladly take care of them.
Everyone wanted to look after Nadia, Ruth helped her with the clutches every morning and evening, Frank and Stanley take their turns in visiting the girls everyday, thank God for mama who despite the girls disappearance kept their businesses running for them life was becoming normal again. The girls had barely three weeks to their exams and so they had lots of catching up to do. With the help of Ruth, she was walking gradually without the clutch. Nobody talked about her pregnancy in the house, everyone waited for her to make the big decision by herself and they didn’t seem like they were in a hurry to know what the decision was. One evening they were sitted in mamas parlour when they heard a knock, Ruth went to open it and it was Vic and her dad.
Vic was so happy to see the girls, they told Nadia and Ruth that they heard all that happened to them and Vic apologised to them that they had to pass through all they did. If they had not slept in her house they wouldn’t have suffered that much. Nadia narrated all she experienced to Vic and warned her to be very careful because the men who took her mistook her for her (VIC). VIC’S dad listened to all the the girl was saying before stating that, Vic was very important to jin, she was his only child and wouldn’t let anything happen to her. He told them how he and his wife waited for twelve years before they had Vic, he told them the trauma they went through and the pains of not having a child even though they had money. He told them he was sending Vic out of the country to continue her education, because he wouldn’t wasn’t a repeat of what happened before. He said all preparations have been made but Vic had insisted on seeing Nadia and Ruth before going. He concluded by telling the girls not to worry that he will find those boys and they will be made to pay for all they did to them. He allowed the girls gist and play for a while before saying it was time to leave. Vic gave the girls her Dad’s number urging them to call him if they needed anything and promising to send her number across to them once she gets overseas.
Before they finally left, Vic’s dad gave mama a cheque of two hundred thousand naira, telling her to take very good care of the girls. Nadia, Ruth and Vic hugged each other before the girls waved her goodbye. Right there, Nadia made her decision, firstly it was not her baby’s fault all that happened to her, she didn’t have to know who the father was, this could be the only child she will ever have, abortion was a huge sin against God, she will not be a killer, with all this thoughts on her head she decided ”I am going to keep my baby”, mama and Ruth turned and looked at her ”you heard me right, its going to be difficult I know, but this ” she said holding her tummy is going to by gift and the reminder of how God spared my life and gave me another chance at it, this is my gift and I’m going to keep it” she concluded, Ruth held her hands and said ” and I’m gonna be just right here to stand by you, through it all”.
