I could not believe I had him back in my life, in my arms. I couldn’t believe we were married. And I couldn’t believe the nightmare was now over. I still had not gotten answers though but it sort of felt like the wrong time to bring it up. Either way, my mouth opened and the words flew out before I could stop them.
 
“How did you do it?” I asked Kayden as we lay in each other’s arms after having gone for another round of intense love making. I was tired but I needed to know how exactly he had managed to pull us out of the predicament that had befallen us.
 
“It’s sort of a long story, are you sure you’re up for it?” He asked as I lay on his chest comfortably.
 
“I have time” I whispered although I was sure I would fall asleep sometwhere in the middle.
 
“Darrien and I made a pact. He did not want the title of Council Head and he was tired of his father using him as a puppet. I just wanted my mate back and I needed my uncle out of our lives, for good.”
 
I hummed letting him know I was paying attention and I was still awake.
 
“So we made sure that Darrien became Council Head by tempering with the voting process. That way I was sure that I wouldn’t be sentenced to my death during the first trial, because that was what would have happened if anyone else other than Darrien won.”
 
“So Darrien sentenced me to two weeks in the cells, which the council elders would have fought against had it not been they were under a spell cast by Vincent’s little witch to accept every little decision made by Darrien, without question. So they accepted the decision and I was dragged to the cells.”
 
“That night I slept in the cells. And Vincent came to gloat, obviously. The following morning Darrien came with Terissa who created an illusion spell that was anyone who passed by the cells they would see me there even when I wasn’t there. So I left the cells, and I went to stay with Terissa as she came up with a portion with which to reverse the spell cast on the people and the Council. Darrien and I set out to look fpr the dark witch my Vincent had used. We got to where she stayed, only to find that Kevin had already captured her.”
 
I raised my head to look at him with wide eyes.
 
“Kevin?” I asked. “I thought he moved to the human world?”
 
“Yeah. I was surprised as you were when I saw him. His only explaination was he was righting his wrongs. He handed the witch over to us, then he left. We took the witch, who later exposed all of Vincents plans as well as his other accomplices. We took this information and visited each and every Council Head with it. Along with the portion from Terrisa. For doing this, they granted me permission to marry you and I was to be set free.” He finished
 
“So you are saying the Council Heads knew what was going on when Darrien and you were giving that speech” she asked.
 
“Yeah. They knew. They had just pretended all through the trial so that Vincent wouldn’t suspect anything.” He said as he shifted slightly.
 
I looked up at him and leaned in to k-ss him. It was a slow sensual k-ss that was unhurried.
 
“Thank you” I whispered as I pulled away
 
He frowned at.
 
“For what?”
 
“For fighting for me, for us” I said overwhelmed with so much emotion.
 
“I should be the one thanking you for putting up with me” he said his mouth twitching in a small smile.
 
“Yeah. It really was hærd putting up with your moody vampire ass” I said and he glared at me.
 
“Have you forgotten your place, princess.” He snarls threateningly.
 
I smile at him.
 
I have, what are you gonna do about it, Lord Kayden Blackwood” I taunted.
 
“I would spank you, but that just wouldn’t do. I cannot bring myself to spank the Lady after my heart.”
 
“Ohh shove that cheesy stuff up you ass and spank me” I said laughing and positioning myself across his lap.
 
He laughed as he looked at me, but his eyes had darkened as he obviously was turned on by the sight of me spread across his lap unclad.
 
“My kinky little mate” he whispered as he positioned me to his liking.
 
God, I love this man.

This was just to clear up the confusion on how Darrien and Kayden managed to pull what the did off without Vincent finding out.
