Here you are, being the janitor of the hospital flirting at a to-be first class graduate.

Can you see you’re so dumb? I said staring at him disgustedly as he gro-ned on the floor.

You should learn how to look closely before you leap next time. I said and kicked him before leaving

I blame myself for not observing you very well before approaching you, Nonsense! I hissed and walked away.

I got the direction from a lady I met outside the hospital and I hurriedly went to purchase the fruits.

I returned to the hospital but not without giving the stupid guy those deadly glares.

Hey guys, I’m bac… I was saying to rose and the driver as I entered the ward but paused when I saw a woman probably in her mid fifties sitting on the chair I sat on before, car-ssing Mae’s hand.

Hello ma’am! I greeted. I was overly amused by the striking resemblance she has with the boss. One would easily know she gave birth to him.

Hi! You must be the Nanny my son talked about. She said and I nodded

Yes ma’am, it’s a pleasure meeting you. I replied

Thank you for bringing her here, you really did a great work. Thanks once again, I had to fly over immediately I got the call from my son about her health condition.

You’re welcome ma’am, it’s totally nothing. We only did what we’re expected to do. Afterall, I was employed purposely because of her… I replied

I placed the fruits on the little cupboard beside her bed and gave some to rose and the driver. Ma’am do you care for? I asked stretching them to her so she could choose the one she like.

“No I’m fine” she said and I took them back.

I had to eat some fruit because I was a bit famished.

We all were sitted in the ward waiting patiently for her to wake up, the boss barged in p-nting heavily. One could easily tell his mind isn’t at rest.

He sighed heavily as he observed her very well. I’m sorry I didn’t greet anyone when I entered.

I’m sure y’all saw how worried and troubled I look when I came in.

“Mom Thanks for coming over”he said to his mom and hugged her.

It’s okay darling, we should be glad she’s responding to treatment. That’d have been another thing entirely.

Welcome dear, how was your trip? She asked him and all he did was nod.

I couldn’t help but admire everything about her. She’s gorgeously dressed and that made her beauty shone brighter, despite her age.

My phone started ringing, I brought it out to check who the caller was and it turned out to be an unknown caller.

Excuse me, I need to answer this call…I said to everyone and I was given a go ahead.

I placed the phone on my ear without talking, since I’m not sure of whom the caller is.

Hey! Don’t fret, it’s Abraham. I’m sorry for not calling you since these days, I’ve just been busy that’s why.. He said and I sighed.

Oh! it’s okay I said and was about saying another word when I saw him walking towards my direction.

Wait! Where are you at the moment? I asked to be sure of who I’m seeing.

I’m at a friend’s hospital, I came to visit hi… He was saying but stopped when he sighted me too.

You must be surprised too. I said

” of course I am, i never for once had the thought of running to you here, what’s up, what are you doing here? He asked

I told him the reason and he insisted in going to check on her.

“Thank you for coming to check on my daughter, I’m really grateful” the boss said to him as he stood up to leave.

Bye dear, we’ll see some other time… He said to me as I saw him off.

“Alright! Bye” I replied.

It’s almost about eight hours since we’ve been sitting in the ward waiting for her to wake, the boss had received calls from different people for countless times.

He was talking to someone on the phone when the door flew open and a girl of Mae’s age ran in with a woman who I guess is her mom.

Mae!!! She called and bursted into tears when she saw the state her friend is. What happened to her? She made me promise to come over to her house so we could play together throughout the day.

Sir will she be okay, will my friend be okay? She asked the boss and he smiled.

She’ll be fine dear, don’t panick. The doctor has attended to her, all we’re waiting for is her to wake up from her sleep… He replied

Sweetheart, you should’ve at least greeted them first… Her mom said

I’m sorry, good afternoon everyone… She greeted.

Afternoon darling, everyone know you’re worried about your friend but how did you know she’s at the hospital? The boss’s mother asked

I wanted to drop her off since she insisted on me taking her and not the driver before proceeding to where I was going to.

The gatekeeper recognised her and told us she’s been rushed to the hospital. We had to drive here immediately… Her mom replied

Oh! Thanks for coming over… The granny thanked

Mae moved her finger just now… I shouted and rushed to her side.

She batted her lashes severally before finally opening her eyes.

Sweetheart, you’re awake…. Her dad and I said at the same time.

“Go get the doctor” the granny said to rose…

“Mom” she called looking at me with her eyes half closed.

It’s Michelle how do you feel now? I asked.

“Mom” she called again and stretched her hand to hold mine. I looked at the boss and I could see tears welled up in his eyes.

He must’ve remembered his late wife because she mentioned her. I thought as I became moody too.

She stretched her hand forward for me to hug her and I did. I didn’t even know when tear dropped from my eyes.

“I’m not your mom” I thought and hugged her a bit tight.
