The Trampled Rose (episode 3)
It can take less than one second for a bad thought to be planted in your mind and it can take almost ‘Forever’ for that same thought to be completely erased; that’s why it advisable to prevent harmful thoughts from getting into your mind in order not to inhabit it. By the time Brandy and Mavin realised that they had gone too far, it was already too late because the warmth they felt in each other’s arms was already engraved in their hearts and mind. The fact that they began to ask theirselves questions after the incident, showed that they already felt something within for each other. It’s apparent that danger was ahead but none of them could clearly see it yet.
“Oh No! I almost k-ssed my husband’s best friend; what in the world is wrong with me?” Brandy said as she sat on the couch looking troubled. She genuinely regretted her actions and was somehow happy that it didn’t go beyond hugging. Likewise Mavin, he was troubled and happy at the same time that they didn’t let things go further than it already did. They felt relieved, while still feeling a little guilty for almost betraying Tochi. Well, if only they knew that the battle actually just began, they would have been more sorry than they already were.
After that incident, Brandy began to deliberately avoid Mavin as much as she could, so as not to be tempted further. Mavin figured she was avoiding him and didn’t bother to address the issue. He felt it was best they avoided the conversation of what happened that fateful day they almost k-ssed. Mavin believed it was for the best, so as to avoid further injury to the wound.
Several weeks passed and Brandy was still avoiding Mavin. She never spoke to her husband about the incident that happened with his best friend because she felt it wasn’t a big deal. “It’s not like I actually k-ssed him so I don’t think I cheated” she usually said to convince herself. Regardless of the fact that Brandy was avoiding contacts with Mavin, that didn’t stop him from sending her money whenever Tochi requested. She usually only texted “Thank you” back to him whenever the credit alert hits her phone. That was the best decision and action for her to protect her dignity and marriage vows to her husband who was far away. “Flee from temptation” was her mantra always.
As time went on, things began to get very intense in Canada. Tochi was always busy and caught up with work to the extent that he barely had time to communicate with anyone. He was rarely with his smart phone due to the workload of activities he had on his plate. The project became extremely taskful and demanded Tochi’s attention 24/7. This tight schedule carried on for months and gradually began to get to Brandy. She only spoke to her husband once in four days and they usually spoke briefly. Tochi couldn’t be everywhere at the same time so he was slacking in maintaining communication with his wife.
It’s been over 14 months since Tochi traveled to Canada and things were no longer looking good for Brandy. Due to the excess loneliness she was feeling, she tried so many means to pleasure herself but that wasn’t her style so she usually failed on any attempt at self-pleasure. At a point, she began to lose it and it began to physically show on her. The other nurses at the hospital could tell that something was up with their colleague but whenever they asked her what was going on, she usually told them she was fine. This carried on for a while and it began to make her w-t her pillows with tears at nights. It was a tough time for the lonely newly married woman but there was nothing more she could do than put herself together and wait for her husband to return from Canada.
With each passing day, Brandy’s defense became weaker and she was beginning to look vulnerable. Despite knowing this detail about herself, she still managed to get her acts together and avoid temptations as much as she could. She was doing a good job till her time was up one fateful day.
It was Brandy’s birthday one rainy Saturday and Tochi managed to send her a cake and flowers through a delivery company. He video called her after she received the gifts and she put up a faint smile all through the call. “Please hang on a little longer, I will be back soon I promise. It isn’t easy for me here too but thinking about you helps me scale through. I wish I was by your side today, I would have made this day a memorable one for you indeed. Go into my wardrobe and put on one of my T-shirts. Smell my perfume and think of only me as you eat your cake. Ensure to take yourself out with the money I sent to you. I love you my baby; see you soon” he said before ending the call.
As soon as the video call ended, Brandy held her chest and laid back on the bed. Shortly after, she got up and walked to her husband’s closet to pick one of his T-shirt as he instructed earlier. She removed her nightwear and wore the shirt. Tochi’s signature perfume smell was still very much intact in the shirt and she sniffed it gently as she laid back on the bed. After about a minute later, tears began to fall from her eyes. She sobbed as she laid on the bed feeling extremely lonely. Just as she was about to cover herself with a duvet, a text message notification beep came into her phone. She picked up the phone to see what the content of the message was and it read “I am at your door with a cake for you. Today is your birthday and it calls for celebration even though we aren’t in good terms. Please come to the door and take your cake so I can be on my way home. Happy Birthday Brandy”.
Immediately Brandy read that message, she instantly knew it was from Mavin and her heart dropped. Goosebumps covered her wh0le body as she sat on the bed thinking of what to do. After over five minutes of contemplating on what to do, she finally summoned up the courage to go and get the cake from him. “After all, it’s just a cake and nothing more” she said to herself as she walked down the stairs to the livingroom door. When she opened the door and saw Mavin standing there looking breathtaking in casual shorts and a shirt, a chilled reaction ran through her wh0le body.
“Happy Birthday, here’s your cake” Mavin said immediately Brandy opened the door wearing Tochi’s T-shirt that revealed her s₱0tless and smooth legs. “Thank you, I appreciate” she replied and collected the cake from him. Just when he was about to take his leave, she subconsciously voiced out; “Would you like to eat the cake with me? The one my husband bought is in,side too so we can just celebrate briefly together before you leave”.
Being a harmless invitation, Mavin didn’t want to turn it down so he accepted and entered in,side. Brandy went to get a knife and plates so they could eat the cake. She also brought a box of juice from the fridge to go with the cake. Shortly after the cake was cut and served, they ate in different plates and just had a good time.
After about 30 minutes, they were done eating and it was time for Mavin to leave. Immediately he told her he was ready to go, she became a bit sad because that meant she would be all alone again. “Ok, thanks for coming and also for the cake; I truly appreciate” she said and got up to esc-rt him out. Just as they walked towards the door, Mavin turned towards Brandy’s direction one last time and found tears in her eyes. “Are those tears?” He asked and she nodded ‘No’ while still shedding tears. He stretched forth his hand to wipe her tears away and immediately his fingers touched her face, he could feel the cold s-nsation on her body.
“What do you want?” Mavin asked out of nowhere and Brandy looked into his eyes without saying anything but her eyes said a thousand words. Mavin touched her face with his palm and gently moved closer to her. At that moment, all their will-power to resist any advances from each other crushed, leaving them totally vulnerable.
As the atmosphere got more tensed, Mavin leaned forward and planted a soft k-ss on Brandy’s l-ips. That k-ss sent her to cloud nine faster than Tochi had ever sent her there. She was flushed and couldn’t control the burning desire to want more.
They k-ssed passionately for a long time till Mavin jacked Brandy up and carried her back to the couch. He gently laid her back on the soft couch and slowly took her shirt off. She wasn’t wearing any other thing asides a b-ra and p-nties which she quickly wore when she saw his text message earlier. In no time, Brandy was completely unclad and p-nting. Mavin reached for her belly button and s-cked it. She mo-ned and began to take off his clothes too. He helped her to take them off and shortly after, they were both unclad in each other’s arms.
Deep down in their minds, they knew every single thing they were doing was wrong but couldn’t stop themselves. At that moment, Tochi’s thoughts were buried beneath all that pleasure. It was going to take only God to stop them at that point because they were already far gone.
Mavin made love to Brandy like he had never done to any lady in the past. For some strange reasons, they were both into each other and wanted every bit of themselves. Brandy mo-ned as loud as she wanted because the doors and windows were shut so no one could possibly hear her; not even the gateman. They made love so intensely and kept p-nting for breath.
They went from the couch, to the floor and then to Brandy’s matrimonial bedroom. That disrespect was equivalent to a thousand slaps on Tochi’s face. He didn’t deserve such betrayal from his own wife and best friend. It was highly disheartening and sad.
After over six (6) hours of intense forepl-y, lovemaking and intimate moments, they were finally tired and cuddled each other. As they both laid on the bed completely exhausted, Mavin closed his eyes to rest a little and as Brandy was about to do same, her phone beeped and she looked to see who texted her and it was a text from her husband which read; “I just ordered your dream car for you, I hope you love it. The car will arrive by next week; enjoy for two. I love you baby!”.
Immediately Brandy was done reading the text, she realized that she cheated on her husband that loved her more than anything in the world. It finally dawned on her that she didn’t deserve such a good man like Tochi. Being too early to start crying or feeling bad, she looked at sleeping Mavin for a while and raised the duvet. Gradually, the reality of her being completely unclad with her husband’s best friend in her matrimonial bedroom began to sink in well. It was when everything sunk in that guilt took over.
Still numb and cold, Brandy faced the wall and began to shed bitter tears. She raised the duvet to look at her unclad self for the second time. When she was done, she soberly folded her body like a baby and sadly muttered; “Am I dreaming?”
