Aliyah’s Pov:

I paced around crying my eyes out…..

Even Dora couldn’t stop me from wailing and screaming on top of my voice.

What would you have me do huh?

What do you want me to do since I can’t save my daughter?

Tears didn’t stop circulating in my eyes and running down my cheeks.

Two million dollars???

God!

How do I raise such a huge amount of money?

Where do I fvcking get such a big amount of money?

Does this mean my daughter will remain with her face ugly for the rest of life?

Who the hell could have done this to my child?

What did Arya do to deserve this from any human being with a heart?

Her face was damaged beyond recognition…….

I could barely recognize my own daughter whom I gave birth to and breastfeed.

I didn’t even know it was Arya if not for the silver bracelet on her arm which I gave her….

“Arghhhh…..” I let out a yell in depression.

“Aliyah please calm down already” Dora tried to calm me down.

“Calm down? Did you just say I should calm down?” I almost screamed.

“I know this must be hard for you but you also know that screaming or yelling won’t solve the problem” Dora said.

“What would you have me do Dora? I don’t have what could solve the problem” I cried out.

“We have to find a way…. You know we can’t let Arya become ugly” She said.

“I don’t think I can live with it myself…. But what can I do? What in heaven’s name do you want me to do Dora? Am so confused…. Did you… Did you hear the amount for her plastic surgery?” I wailed.

“There is nothing impossible for God to do Aliyah! I just want you to have faith” Dora said.

“Dora let’s just be realistic here…. Where do I get that money from? Should I go rob a bank cos that’s the only way” I cried loudly.

“You have to calm down ok…. This would not help as well” She said.

“I told you guys but you refused to listen to me” I started.

“What are you talking about Aliyah? No one knew this will happen and no one wanted it to happen as well” Dora snapped.

“I know Dora! But I had a feeling something will go wrong… If you guys had allowed Arya and I to leave this place then this wouldn’t have happened to her” I cried.

“This isn’t what we should be talking about…. We should focus on how to get the money for her surgery” Dora said.

“Dora I want to be alone! I want to be alone” I continued sobbing.

“Aliyah trust me I know exactly how you are feeling right now… I know you might disbelief me but I just know it that you feel so terrible” Dora started.

“Dora please I want to have sometime to myself and I will really appreciate it if you give me that time” I said as I sat on the bed.

“Alright then” Dora said as she walked out of the room closing the door.

I burst into tears with my face buried in the pillow.

Mrs Roselyn’s Pov:

We walked into the hospital with my mind still wandering in thought.

“Greg what are we doing here?” I asked with arched eyebrows.

“We just want to have you checked up” Gregory said as I scoffed.

“Checked up? Have I been sick? Like am i not feeling well?” I asked.

“You are fine but you know you need to check yourself up sometimes” Greg replied as we walked into the doctor’s office.

“Check myself up sometimes? I don’t understand you Greg… When did you suddenly have so much time to go with me for medical check-ups?” I asked.

“Come on Rosey! So I can’t come with my wife for check up again?” Greg smiled.

“In as much as I want to believe you Greg but I just can’t…. I know how important your office is to you and it’s confusing how you will leave it to be with me in the hospital not even because am sick but because I want to check myself up” I marvelled.

“Well let’s say it’s a new development…. Family first” He said.

I found myself smiling crazily.

That would be the most lovely development like Gregory Dela Cruz concerned about his family first?

I couldn’t stop smiling.

I hope this continues cos it has been my prayer for such a long time.

We walked into the doctor’s office after meeting the nurse who stared at me like she have seen a ghost.

“Any problem nurse?” I asked her as she gulped nervously forcing a smile as she shook her head in disagreement.

“Are you sure?” I asked as she nodded.

Why is she behaving so strange?

“Greg? Did you see how that nurse stared at me?” I tapped him.

“What are you looking at?” Greg shouted at her and she shook her head and turned her face away immediately.

“Why was she staring at me like that Greg?” I asked as we walked towards the doctor’s office.

“She’s just stupid” Greg said as I forced a smile still wondering within myself.

We walked into the doctor’s hospital as the doctor gasped on seeing me.

“Oh my gosh!” The doctor exclaimed.

I looked at him confused….

Why are they all behaving like am a ghost?

Sofia’s Pov:

I sulked uncontrollably and bitterly as I got the news from Arya’s Mom.

She is in coma and still at the hospital cos some people ambushed her.

Worst still her face was damaged beyond recognition.

Who could have wanted to do that to her?

I mean even if Arya was strong willed… She’s a very nice person and she doesn’t look for anyone’s trouble.

What would it be my best friend?

I was so bittered and down the whole day and I couldn’t even concentrate in class..

I missed her so much like it’s been years…..

“Hey Sofy” I heard someone’s voice from behind and turned around.

It was Becca…. A friend though.

“Hi Becca” I forced a smile at her.

She was carrying her tray of food.

“Can i…. Share a table or is it already occupied by your paddy?” She asked.

“Oh no…. You can sit there” I said as she sat beside me.

“Alright… Thanks” She said as she sat beside me.

I couldn’t even eat cos I kept on playing with the pasta.

“Uhmm…. Do you mind if I ask you?” Becca gulped.

“What is it?” I managed to say.

“What about your friend Arya?” She asked.

I quickly burst into tears as I told her what happened to her.

Patrick’s Pov:

I was getting worried already cos I haven’t seen the mean girl in school.

It’s been a long weekend and she’s not in school on Monday.

That’s weird because she doesn’t ever skip school.

What could be the problem?

Did something happen to her or did she fall sick?

I know I shouldn’t care or worry about her welfare but for some reasons I really like the mean girl.

Sorry I heard her name is Arya!

Maybe I should stop calling her the mean girl already.

Then I thought of asking her best friend Sofia.

I sighted her at the cafeteria so I walked up to her.

But then I stopped as I overheard her telling another girl that the mean girl Arya was ambushed.

And her face was damaged beyond recognition.

My jaw dropped.

“Kimberly?” Was all I could say…..

Kimberly’s Pov:

I catwalked with so much pride as I smiled mischievously.

“Oh my gosh girlfriend…. You really kept to your words you know” Anita chuckled.

“You know me don’t you? I can never accept defeat and I can never lose” I giggled.

“That’s a big lesson for her and others who would try to speak to you in that rude manner” Olivia smiled.

“That serves her right! She doesn’t know who exactly she’s messing with and she thinks she could get away with it” I scoffed.

“Now she is paying for her stubborness” Olivia added.

“I told you girlfriend! I told you that trust him so much to do the job for you” Anita said.

“Thank you so much girls for being by my side solidly…. And yes! The man and his gang are really so good… You know I heard her face was disfigured and you can nearly recognize her” I laughed mischievously.

“Oh my goodness! That’s so appalling” they chorused as we shared a laugh.

“Very appalling…. tch… This will serve as a lesson to other students out there” I said.

“They won’t dare you again and now you have gotten rid of your opponent….” Anita said.

“Am so excited you know! Like no one can equal to my beauty again… I mean the new girl is now very ugly” We chorused as we burst into laughter.

You don’t know how excited I feel right now to know that the new girl is finally out of my way.

Am so glad to know that she won’t be able to show her ugly face in school ever again.

She’s gonna be too ugly to come back to school.

Tch…. Such a pity,!

Well she got exactly what she wanted right….

I mean why would she humiliate my boyfriend in public and disgrace me in public as well.

No one does that to me without getting severe punishment.

It’s good to know that she’s out of the way for good.

Now I can still continue my reign as not only the girlfriend to the most famous famous guy in school but also as the most beautiful girl in school.

I can’t wait to parade in so much pride…

Now am back on track and no one will try saying a damn word.

“Uhmm…. Kim? What about your boyfriend?” Anita suddenly asked.

“My boyfriend? You mean Martin?” I repeated after her.

“Yes Martin!” Olivia supported her.

“So what about Martin? What happened to Martin?” I asked.

“You know you guys still have problems together so what now?” Anita said

I forced a smile at her.

“It’s nothing to worry about… I’ll sort it out but be sure that no one will take him away from me” I sharply replied.

“I trust you girlfriend” they said as we high five.

Patrick’s Pov:

From afar I watched the happy girls chatting and laughing so loud.

Kimberly and her two friends…..

I don’t know why am concerned about the mean girl but I will make sure Kim pays dearly for going against my orders.

I warned her not to hurt Arya but she disobeyed my orders.

She doesn’t really know who the fvck she’s messing with.

Am going to make sure she learns the terrible lesson of her life.

She won’t dare cross paths with someone as wicked and as deadly as I am.

That is a promise and I always keep promises no matter how hard it is..

I have to speak to one of her friends…

I believe one of them will spilt the truth to me even without knowing it.

I think I will speak to the quiet one that calls herself Olivia.

She might be of help cos she has a loud mouth.

But before then I will speak with Arya’s friend.

“So you mean you haven’t gone to see her?” I asked anxiously.

“Not yet…. I really need to go see her at the hospital today after school” She sniffed.

I pity the poor girl… For these past few days that Arya haven’t been in school she have been so lonely.

“You mean you will go see her after school?” I asked.

“Yes! I will be dropping off at the hospital then go home from there” Sofia replied.

“Alright then…. I think I will come with you” I said calmly.

“Ok then…. Thank you so much for your concern” she said.

Martin’s Pov:

I was still busy with the graph in our VIP area in school.

Actually we have a place where only the three of us me, Lucas and Idris can enter.

Only Kim have been here apart from the three of us.

Lucas rushed in making me so nervous and scared.

“Lucas? What happened? Why are you running?” Idris asked in his usual playful tune.

Idris is never serious and that’s one of the annoying part of him.

“What happened?” I managed to speak.

“You won’t believe what i just heard Martin” Lucas panted heavily.

“What you heard? What was it you heard?” I asked nervously.

“It’s too heavy even in my lips” Lucas shook his head.

“Tch…. You’re so dramatic Lucas! Why not spilt it than making us all look at that black lips of yours?” Idris laughed.

“Idris will you be serious for once? Just stop kidding all the time” I hissed at him.

Then I turned back to Lucas….

“You won’t believe that the new girl was ambushed and she’s hospitalized to cut the matter short” Lucas said as I gasped.

“What? She was ambushed?” I became so worried.

“Oh my goodness… The girl I was wanting to court” Idris still sounded unserious.

“Her face was disfigured and was badly wounded” He added.

“What?” I freaked out.

I was so pained like she was a part of me….

The whole day was bad for me after Lucas told me the while story.

Who could have done that to Arya???

Mrs Roselyn’s Pov:

I stared at the doctor and then Gregory in so much confusion.

“Why the hell is everyone behaving like am a living ghost?” I thought within myself.

“So she woke up?” The doctor finally said.

“What the hell is going on here? What does the doctor mean by I woke up? Was I dead or not breathing?” I almost screamed.

“Rosey you have to calm down just sit” Gregory sounded so calm.

“Am confused here and you keep telling me to calm down…. What’s going on Greg?” I asked banging my fist on the doctor’s table.

“Oh Mrs Dela Cruz please just get a hold of yourself” The doctor addressed me.

“Get a hold of myself? Really? Why should I when all of you keep behaving like a lunatic?” I asked.

“Doctor you got her confused… You know I told you she felt a bit of headache and she needs rest so she just slept to rest so you sounded like she’s been sleeping for ages” Greg said to the doctor.

“Headache? What are you….” The doctor started.

“Doctor?” Greg called as the doctor forced a smile.

“Oh that? Now I understand…. Am really sorry Mrs Roselyn I just…(clears throat noisily) am happy that you are ok from the headache now” the doctor said.

“I just hope so” I said before sitting.

This is so weird that they keep behaving like am someone who escaped death or something.

I can’t wait to get home and see my daughter Aliyah.

Maybe she could help me explain what the hell is going on.

I know Aliyah won’t ever lie to me no matter what.

Aliyah’s Pov:

I watched my baby girl lying with plasters on her face.

I haven’t seen her face for the past four days now cos she have been with bandages on her face.

Whoever did this to her will know no peace.

I know my Arya can be stubborn but she can never do anything to harm anybody.

She’s a very nice girl….

If only she agreed to leave with me then this wouldn’t have happened.

We would have been so happy together wherever we are.

And she would still be beautiful like she has always been.

I was still sobbing beside her when my cell phone rang aloud.

It was Leo….

I quickly turned the phone upside down.

I don’t think I want to talk to anyone cos I might end up yelling at him.

I continued sulking silently beside Arya’s bed.

“Arya?” I heard someone call with a teary voice.

I turned around after wiping my tears as a beautiful girl of Arya’s age rushed in with a young boy.

She must be Sofia…. Arya told me a lot of nice things about her.

She rushed to Arya’s bed sobbing.

The boy made calculable steps towards the bed as well.

I stood by the side and watched them cry.

Just then my wallet fell and the boy picked it up for me.

Then Arthur’s picture fell off too from the wallet.

He picked it up staring at it in surprise…….
