Episode 7

Joy could be seen in her favorite stance on the bed wearing a worried look,

Her mom later told her the rest of the story and she discovered that she went through hell, no roof to shelter her, she wandered as a beggar during the pregnancy period,

She would stick in marts when it rained but most of the owners pursued her for one or two reasons, they would either say she stinks or she’s a madwoman which was true because she had only one clothing which she never washed and she would stick around dumping sites looking for rotten stuff to console the ravaging warms in her stomach which gave her no indifference from a mentally challenged person.

It was on the seventh month that she encountered a divine help, the state governor s₱0tted her on a dumping site while he could be possibly attending a meeting and had pity on her, he picked her up and washed away her sorrow with money, he bought an apartment for her and assigned a worker who looked after her till she delivered a baby girl who happened to be joy, he also opened a grocery shop for her. (Which remained their primary source Of livelihood to date)

Joy was supposed to be happy that her mom’s past story later ended happily but she wasn’t, another issue just succeeded in clothing her with another coat of worries, tears surged down as she lay sadly, staring at the ceiling with a crossed arms.
Recalling how it all happened makes her cry the more,

it all started after her mom had left her room the day she told her the story, joy suddenly developed an ailment, she felt cold, and using the restroom became her every second duty, she would get in there for only two purposes: either to throw up or to pass urine, she taught that it may have resulted from the sorrowful moments they had that day hoping that it stops the next day but it wasn’t so as she was roused by a very deep cold that reached her bone, her tooth jamming on their own, she wrapped her body with the thick blanket but it was just as good as being unclad, her mom who already had become worried that her daughter was taking longer than she normally does to wake had gone to check on her.
She met her daughter in a very bad condition, her face was pale and she wrapped herself with a bed cover,

joy what happened she asked touching her forehead,

I dunno this is just how I find myself this morning,” joy replied in a shaky tone,

You’re cold,” her mom added, her palm still placed on her forehead,

Joy nodded in agreement.

Don’t worry we shall be seeing a doctor soon,” her mom assured.

That’s how it all happened, when they arrived at the hospital, the doctor after carrying out a test confirmed her to be two weeks pregnant,

Episode 8

That’s how it all happened, when they arrived at the hospital, the doctor confirmed her to be two weeks pregnant,

The shock made her mom lose control of her body and she lands on the floor, putting her arms on her head, and burst into a sorrowful weeping, hewu chimoo(oh my God) why is it that what always befall me is the least I expected.

Joy, you have killed me,” her mother shouted When they entered their house.

Sorry mom,” joy uttered ignoring the tears that were streaming down her own eyes.

Do you see it? this was the reason I’ve been restricting you from going out on Christmas, now it has happened, tell me, who is the father of the unborn child,” her mother questioned angrily.

Joy froze on hearing that question, not because she didn’t want to tell her mother but because she did not even know.

Mom please, can I ask you a question?” she pleaded in a teary tone.

What stupid question when you are yet to provide an answer to mine.

Mom, please I know that this may sound somehow but please give me a sincere answer: can a v×rgiπ take in without having any physical affair?

Her mother looked down and became mute as more tears surged out.

This is what has been bothering joy from that day till now that she could be seen crying in her room,

How possibly could I have gotten a bump without, any manly touch, Chris is the only guy I have ever been with but we never had anything together, she recalled going to a clubhouse with him two weeks ago, but nothing eventful happened that day, they only watched a couple of movies and Chris rode her home (upon her request),

These thoughts made Joy worried, how will I ever regain my dignity again, does this mean I will not even go to school again, so my future will be ruined, her outpourings became more intensive as she pictured what would be her fate in the future.

The door to her room flew open and her mom walked in, she sat beside her,

She car–sed her ponytail, which seemed to bring some little life to her dying emotion,

clearing her throat, she spoke out, daughter, I know I’ve treated this matter with enough strong hand and I’m never going to regret it, you need to understand that mom loves and always wants the best for you, nothing hurts most than watching your hærd labor ruin. Joy I want to ask you this question for the last time and I demand you answer me with all the sincerities you’ve got, look into my deemed eyes and tell me only but the true joy. “she slides her palm away from her ponytail and firmly held gaze with her waiting for a response.

Joy’s mood changed drastically, it wasn’t long before her gloomy eyes released more outpouring, in a teary voice she replied”mom I’m telling you the truth, no one slept with me.

In great fury, her mom stood from the bed and landed a thunderous slap on her cheek which revealed to her stars of varied colors,

No one slept with you, ghost did, I’m coming back for you” her mom hit the door very hærd,

oh, how did I get myself wrapped up in this kind of a mess, how I wish I stayed back on that Christmas day, had it be I did; then I can at least have something to serve as a defense, now she will never, believe me, she was still deep in thoughts when the sound from her phone drove her out of reality, with the blue Chelsea’s design bed cover she wiped her eyes to have a better sight.

She glanced at the screen to know the caller, her heart raced a million times on seeing who was calling, she put the phone on silent mode and hid it under the pillow, more tears trailed down her eyes as she engaged in another deep thought, what kind of life is this, now the most precious thing I’ve ever had is gone just because of this” she punched her Tommy in a very harsh way ignoring any negativity it might result.

She taught that answering Chris will bring nothing but more pain to her and she didn’t want him to know about her present condition thinking that letting him know will result in another pain.

She sobbed till sleep borrowed away her sorrows,
