**TWO WEEKS LATER***

*

Pablo woke up to see Anastasia’s head on his chest. She was staring at the window, smiling as so many thoughts ran through her mind.

It’s been two weeks since she returned from Chicago, and every event that happened there remained as a memory to her. Every day that passes by, she misses Bella and Tessa the more.

What about Mr Jayden, he’s probably gonna miss her a lot if he returns. Well, he’s got Tessa who’s been admiring him for days now, but that’s only if he would understand her feelings.

She smiled at the thoughts.

Well, it’s back to being home, sleeping on the same bed with the man of her dreams. Also, she finally has Clarabelle back in her life. Gosh, it felt like years without her.

She told Clarabelle every bit of her experience in Chicago, how she met her college friend, Bella, and how Bella had introduced Tessa to her to help out in her little restaurant shop. There was a little sadness on Clarabelle’s face which Anastasia guessed could be jealousy.

Yes, she was jealous at the way Anastasia talked about Bella and Tessa, she felt they had taken her place in her heart. It wasn’t a bad thing meeting your past friends, but since the day she signed in as a worker for the Escobar family, she had been feeling alone since she had no one to call her family.

Since Anastasia came into her life, she didn’t only feel the world has once again welcomed her, she felt she has a family. And she didn’t intend to get this jealous, no, you’ve got to understand, it’s definitely not her fault.

She tries to cover it with a smile which wasn’t convincing at all, but Anastasia decided not to ask what the problem was. The most important thing is that she is back, and it’s just the two of them now.

“I’m happy you’re back.” Was what she said.

“Hey,” Pablo interrupted her thoughts. “What’s making you smile?” He asked.

Anastasia raised her head to look at him. “A lot.”

“Like?”

She sighed. “Just remembered every thing that happened in Chicago.”

“Missing it already?”

“Not that I actually miss Chicago, I only miss my friends.”

“Bella and Tessa?”

“Yeah.” There was one more she was missing, some one she didn’t want Pablo to know about.

“Is there some one else you are missing I don’t know?”

She shook her head. “No. Though I seem to have recovered, I still feel like there are things I am forgetting. So maybe, this some one is part of what I am forgetting.” She grinned.

His phone beeped as soon as a message dropped in. He picked it from the lamp stand, checking who the sender was. The message was sent by an unknown number. He clicked on it, reading through the words.

Seeing how locked his gaze was to his phone, Anastasia was wondering what the message was talking about.

“Pablo, is there a problem?” She asked.

He was trying to guess who it was that had sent him the message.

“What did it say?” She was already becoming worried about his silence.

He read the message again, as if doing so would help him guess who it is.

«I heard your father’s dead and you’ve taken over the empire. Well, I’d say, it’s an honor to have you in the Mafia line. I hope the Sacilian group won’t fall under your rule. I’m sorry I didn’t start with a proper introduction, but let me guess, you’re scared aren’t you? Don’t worry, I have always been a good friend of your father. If you do wanna know who it is talking to you, meet me at this address…»

Just then, a message dropped in, showing the address of the sender’s location.

He still can’t guess who it could be. Some one is actually playing games with his head.

“Pablo…” Anastasia touched his face. He looked at her, but his face wasn’t wearing a good expression. “What’s going on?” She asked, sounding worried and concerned.

“I think some one is keeping an eye on me.” He replied.

“Who is that?” She asked again.

“I don’t know.”

Another message dropped in, he quickly checked on his inbox. «And don’t think of bringing companies, because I’ve got eyes on you.»

“What did he say?” She asked.

“He wants me to meet him… alone.”

“Are you going?”

He looked at her. “I have to, but not alone.”

“No, Pablo, you can’t go there.” She refused. “We don’t know who this guy is and we don’t know what he is up to.”

“That’s why I have to go. He knows my father, I wanna know why he sent me the message.”

“He knows your father doesn’t make any sense, what if he only wants to use that to lure you into a trap or some thing?”

“That’s why I ain’t going alone.”

Anastasia sighed, she knew she couldn’t convince him any longer since he was being so persistent that he had to find out who the sender really is.

“Fine. Just take good care of yourself, and be careful.”

“I will.” He k××sed her forehead.

Pablo, together with Fred and some few men left, heading to the address the unknown sender had given to Pablo.

Clarabelle rushed to her room to report to her what was going on. She thought Anastasia wasn’t aware of it.

“I saw Mr Pablo and Fred with some men leave the house, do you have an idea of where they are going to?” She asked.

“An unknown number sent him a message, he has gone to find out who he is.”

“That’s risky.” She said,

“Very risky.” Anastasia added.

“Why didn’t you stop him?”

“I tried but he didn’t listen to me. You know, Pablo might be sweet and gorgeously great, but that doesn’t mean he’s perfectly sweet. He’s way too stubborn. He just needs a stubborn woman like him to stop him.”

“Well, I trust Mr Pablo, he’s gonna be alright. Besides, he’s smart.

“Some times, being smart can lead us to our grave.”

“Not his kind of smartness.”

Anastasia scoffed.

They finally got to the address. Pablo’s car was parked at the entrance of the abandoned warehouse while the van which carried Fred and the other men was parked at a corner which was impossible for the guards surrounding the warehouse to see them.

Pablo was able to communicate with Fred using the earpod in his ear.

“I’m out.” He informed. “I need one of his men to be taken, have the bomb tied around him. There’s only one person this stranger could be.”

“Who’s that?” Fred asked.

“We’ll find out when I get in,side.”

Fred ordered two men to kidnap one of the guards which they did secretly. They beat him up, tied his mouth with maxen tape so that he won’t be able to s¢ræm. They wore him the suicide bomb, threatening they’d blow him up if he acts stupid.

***IN THE ABANDONED WAREHOUSE***

*

Pablo walked in, there were about two guards at the entrance door, four at the hallway, two at the elevator. He exited the elevator, there were two more at the exit, four at the hallway which led to his last destination, two standing outside the door, and about right in the room. Plus the two who followed him behind.

The entire warehouse was guarded tightly, Pablo used his eyes to calculate every corner, muttering the number of words in a way only Fred could hear.

The guards escorted him in. There was a black leather chair standing in the middle of the room, it faced the window but backed him.

“I got your message.” He said, breaking the silence.

“I see.”

Pablo was certain of the voice he heard, and it was so obvious that Fred was able to recognize it too.

“Is that…”

The leather chair automatically turned that the figure was now facing him. With a broad smile on his face, he said. “Hello, brother.”

“Oh my goodness, is that Micheal talking?”

“It’s been a long time, do you miss me?” He teased.

“It’s been two days, I don’t miss you.”

Micheal laughed. “Yes, you don’t. You never miss any one. So tell me, how is the empire going?”

“I don’t think you wanna know.”

“Of course, I do. It’s my father’s business, so I think I have every right to know what’s going on in the empire. Or, am I casted already?”

“The empire is going perfectly well without you.”

“That’s all I wanna hear.” He maintained the same broad smile. “What about Ana, how is she?”

“This isn’t the reason why you texted, just go straight to the point.”

“Well, you are absolutely right about that, I’ve got a lot for us to discuss.” He looked at his personal guard, “What are you standing there for, get him a seat, will you?” He returns his gaze at Pablo, “I’m sorry for their untrained attitude.”

“I didn’t come here for the gestures.”

“I’ll go to the point when you have a seat.” He finalized.

The guard brought another leather chair for Pablo to sit down. He hesitated, but what interested him was the conversation, he had no choice but to sit down.

“So, shall we?” Micheal said, crossing his legs over the other. “While you left for Chicago to bring your sweet little princess home, I figured out that I can do some thing great for myself. You wanna know what I figured out?”

Pablo made no comment.

He didn’t mind, he continued. “I figured out that I can build up my own empire, besides, that’s how every other Mafian empire began. I decided to leave, hopefully, some day soon, you’ll hear that your brother has become a great Mafia Lord in Mexico. Isn’t that a good news?”

“As long as you are leaving the state, I’m totally fine with that.” Pablo simply said.

“Can you for once in your life try to be sympathetic? At least, try to miss a brother.”

“Micheal, don’t try to act like you care about me or what I feel or how I play my emotions. I only came here because you asked me to.”

“No, not because I asked you to, but because you wanted to find out who this very special friend of your father is. Maybe, some how, you might end up finding out more about what you don’t know, isn’t it?”

“What are you up to, Micheal? Are you testing me or what?”

“Testing?” He repeated with a chuckle. “Is that what you think? Well, that’s actually the answer and guess what, you failed the test.”

The guards which surrounded the room brought out their guns, pointing it at him. Pablo looked around, then at Micheal who was laughing hærd at him.

“Surprised?” He asked. “I love surprises. Do you?”

“What’s the meaning of this, Micheal?”

“What makes you think I would invite you here and let you go just like that? Like I always say, that empire belongs to me and not you.”

“You keep saying that and yet, you don’t have it.”

“That’s because I have made a step to have it. But now I have, the Sacilian empire is all gonna be mine.”

“No wonder why father refused to hand the empire over to you, because you’re nothing but a greedy asshole! You own an empire now, why be so selfish?”

“I don’t remember any one saying having multiple empires is a crime. As soon as I take over the Sacilian empire, together with mine, I will make a great history in New York City!” He exclaimed in excitement. “Isn’t it good news?”

Pablo made no comment.

“Well, you have ten minutes to say your last prayers.”

“Ten minutes is too long for a last prayer.”

“You have five minutes then.”

“Still long for a last prayer.”

“Since you don’t appreciate my generosity, I guess I’ll make it a minute then.”

“It’s…”

“Shut the fu*k up and say your damn prayer!” He yelled.

Pablo laughed, leaving every one baffled. “What the fu*k is funny about this?! Michael yanked.

“I think it’s you who’s going to be saying his last prayer.”

“What the fu*k does that mean?”

“Boss, your chest.” One of the guards informed him.

Micheal looked at his chest, he saw the res gun light on it. He looked at his guards and the lights were pointing at each of them.

“I told you to come alone!”

“What makes you think I’d do that? What do you take me for, a fool? Have you forgotten already, I ain’t just a mafia, I’m a military. You don’t play games with me.” He smirked evilly.

Micheal fumed in anger but Pablo seemed not to care. “So, let me make this straight again, that empire doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to me. And if you think of doing any thing stupid, I’m gonna end your fu*king life once and for all. Any questions before I kill you?”

“Come in.” Micheal said.

Pablo looked at his ears, he saw there was an earpod which he had used to communicate to whoever it was he had just talked to.

A giant with a bazooka gun walked out from a door at the corner of the room. He had bullets worn around his chest and w–st.

Michel laughed. “I was prepared for this.”

“So was I. It’s time.”

Fred and the guard they had worn a bomb walked into the room, every one shifted back. “I guess I was much more prepared than you are.” He smirked again. “I’m gonna ask again, any last prayer?”

“You think blowing up this entire place will end every thing?”

“No, I don’t think so. You know what, Micheal, I figured out that you’re standing alone in this journey. But I don’t, I don’t stand alone, I’ve got some one who’s gonna take my place after I am gone. You wanna know who?”

“Go fu*k yourself, d**k.” He cursed.

“I have an heir, some one who’s gonna grow up and become great just like his father, and like his grandfather.” Pablo smiled, “Very soon, she’ll be pregnant and I’ll have a child. I don’t care what gender it is, that child is gonna take my place. What about you, Micheal, who’s gonna take your place?”

Michael made no comment.

“I’m always one step ahead of you. I spent years of my life in the military, do you actually think I’d be playing games there?” He walked closer to Micheal, leaving an inch gap between them.

“I’m gonna ask you this one last question, Michael, Who’s the Godfather now?”
