CHAPTER SIX: ITZEL AND HONORIA (II).

“Let me go! Let me go! Let me go!” She turned to look at Honoria. ” HONORIA!”

They kept dragging her out of the castle until they got to the torture room.

“I said let me go!” She yelled.

“Shut up!” One of the guards yelled back.

“Let go off me!” They made her face them offering a hot slap on her right cheek causing her to fall to the ground.

“I said, shut…up.” he warned, pulling her to her feet. They made her sit down, one held her still against the chair while the other tied her against it.

She struggled to move but couldn’t. The two guards who stood at her front would smirk as she does that.

“I’m sorry m’lady, we have no choice. We are only following orders. I hope next time you will learn how to mind your business.” Said one of the guards.

“You will regret this, I promise.”

They looked at each other for a while then filling the room with their ugly laughter. Itzel watched them with an angry face.

“What are we going to do with her.” Asked one of the guards.

“Didn’t you heard what lady Honoria said? We can torture her as we want.”replied the other.

“So,” they both turned their gaze at her. “Where do we begin?”

“Go to hell!” She shouted but got another slap from the guard just beside her.

She grunted, breathing heavily.

One of them brought out a dagger, walking towards her. He kept moving it around her face. He laughed. “Why don’t we start from here. As soon as your beauty is taken, you will have no suitor coming to you.”

She moved her head back, ” No. No. No don’t. Don’t…do it.”

“You do not look bothered. I guess you have no use with your beauty either.”

“What do you want me to say?” She asked. “Go ahead. Just do it already.”

“As you wish, m’lady.”

He bent towards her, digging the dagger into her soft bare skin. Itzel mo-ned painfully as he kept dragging it against her left cheek. Stops of blood kept rolling out of the open wounds.

He paused, loving the sound of her painful mo-n. He looked at the other standing up. “What should we make her look like?”

He shrugged. “I should be asking you that.”

“Mmm.” he hummed thoughtfully. “I just thought of the best look for her.”

Itzel’s heart was beating hΓ¦rd, her breath increased. She didn’t know if she should cry or watch. scre-m or laugh at their stupidity.

It was painful…so painful. She wished she could die at that instant but it is as if her life was being supplied at each action they took on her.

“You will pay for hurting me.” She said. “I promise.”

“Really?” He threw back, “well,I don’t think so because right now, it’s just you and us.”

The other guard brought a bucket of water, pouring it on her body. She moved her body vigorously as the water kept splashing all over her.

As soon as the water had finished, she was breathing more heavier than before. She spitted on him.

He smiled, dropping the empty bucket to the ground. He chuckled evilly, slapping her hærd on her cheek. She grunted.

He slapped her again on her cheek, this time thick blood rolling out of her mouth. She spitted it to the ground, chuckling.

“Is that all you’ve got? Go ahead, kill me and return my corpse to your so-called mistress!”

“Okay. We will do just as you have said.”

They brought out their sword pointing it at her. “Let’s see how your death will be.”

“That’s enough!” Hazel shouted from the entrance door.

“My lady.” They greeted, bowing. “You shouldn’t be here.”

“Well, I am now.” She said, disgusted. “Now leave this instance, will you?”

“But… We are only following orders.”

“Well I am changing that orders now. Now go! Get out of here!” She commanded and they exited the room.

She turned to look at already wounded Itzel who was still trying to catch her lost breath. Hazel walked close to her, holding her bruised face.

“Look what they did to your face, Itzel.”

“You should have just let them kill me. It’s better off than to leave with her.”

“It’s not better. We still need you, I still need you.”

“No one needs me. No one does.”

“Just shut up, okay, and let’s take you out of here.” She untied her, helping her stand to her feet. Two steps away from the chair, Itzel fell to the ground.

She fainted…

Waking up, she gro-ned painfully, rubbing her head softly. She stared around, shifting the blanket beside. She tried getting out of the bed, she felt a sharp sting of pain in her head.

“Aahh!” She gro-ned again.

“Your wounds haven’t healed, the physician said you still need some rest.” Hazel’s voice sounded.

“I am fine, it’s just a little headache.”

“Do you need anything? I can help you out if you need my help.”

Itzel looked at her, “I shouldn’t be here. Honoria…”

“Forget her. She won’t make you work anymore.”

“What did you do?”

“Don’t worry, I didn’t do anything. Trust me, you’re safe now.”

“Thank you.”

“How are you feeling?”

“It hurts here.” She replied, pointing at her head.

“Don’t worry, it’s only a matter of time. The physician has given you some pain relief while you were asleep, the pains won’t last long.”

“Well, ” she stood up, “I will send your maid to help you with the shower. Call me if you need anything.”

Itzel nodded.

Hazel walked to the door, she bent the knob letting the door open when Itzel’s voice sounded.

“Thank you.”

Hazel smiled. “It’s nothing. Just have some rest, okay?” She left.

Honoria was sewing a white cloth when Hazel walked in. Honoria’s face saddened, she had walked in without knocking?

“How dare you bang into my room?” She asked angrily. “Have you forgotten your manners?”

“Do you think that’s necessary?”

“In my room? Yes. So, would you mind showing some manners?” She asked, referring her to go back.

“I didn’t come here for manners, I came here to talk.”

“I’m sorry, as you can see I am busy.”

“We need to talk.” Hazel insisted.

“Okay. I’m listening.”

“I have ordered the guards to stop the torture, Itzel will no longer have any duty to work.”

Honoria wΒ‘dened her eyes, dropping the white cloth on the small table. “How dare you despise my orders? Who do you think you are?”

“Why do you hate Itzel this much? What wrong has she done to you?”

“It doesn’t matter what she has done to me, I just want her dead, okay? Besides, you said you have stopped the torture, what else do you want?”

“Like I said, we need to talk.”

“Look, sister, I have no time to talk about Itzel now, please just go.”

“For once try to understand her, she is your sister, your blood.”

“I do not care who or what she is! She took everything from me. She took the one I love, secretly having him to herself and you think she is innocent?” She scoffed, “oh, please, I am not blind to see the devil in,side her.”

“She didn’t take Lord Arthur from you, it was only a dance.” Hazel defended.

Honoria laughed. “Is that what she made you believe? Why are you so blind to her lies? Why are you so weak to every words she speak?”

“Because they are the truth.”

“Because they are all lies. Lies I can’t be fooled into. Don’t try to act so nice, we both know who the liar is. But don’t worry, you won’t find that out now. You will someday.”

“Don’t worry, I already found who the liar is… It’s you. But I will tell you something, if there is anyone who is to marry Prince Arthur, it’s Itzel. You are only only making a fool out of yourself around him. I hope you won’t regret this later. Never say I didn’t warn you.”

She wa-isted not a second, she left. Honoria’s eyes burned with anger. How dare she? How dare she tell her such a thing?

“You wretch!”

CHAPTER SEVEN: LADY ITZEL IS TAKEN.

A Year Later…

The year had ran so fast than the blink of an eye. Last night was a busy one as everyone one were busy with preparations and decorations.

The ball was holding tonight.

Everyone wants to appear the best. But that wasn’t in the case of Itzel who has been busy all day at the garden humming one of those favorite songs her mother always sang to her when she was little.

She sat quietly, thinking of nothing in particular.

Her dream…

Three nights ago, she had dreamt of Prince Arthur asking her in hand of marriage but she only turned him down.

Last night, she had seen him for the second time, the same as before. He was asking her for marriage but she instead turned his request down.

But there was a slight change in her life, a change she couldn’t understand. Each time hazel always talked of him, something in her just flutters. Her heart would ache at the mention of his name.

Why would she be having such feelings?

What has happened to her? She thought to herself.

Then she sternly told herself to stop being dramatic. It was just one night, just like any other night. Her parents and Hazel loved her, even if Honoria didn’t.

She would dance with him if he asked her for a dance. Not just for anyone, but for herself.

If everyone could believe she was the rightful bride for the Prince then, she needs to start believing in that too. But her inconspicuous nature gave her doubts to those thoughts.

The rest of her sisters had returned from shopping, where they purchased the finest silk for the ball tonight. Honoria made all possible effort to look more better, aiming to restore what belongs to her.

Itzel sat on her bed, admiring the fine egyptian gown her mother bought for her. For so many reasons she wanted to drop the cloth away and have something else for the ball.

But, she has no choice. She wouldn’t want to ruined her mother’s mood tonight.

Soon, one after the other, the guests trooped in. There was a maid Honoria had ordered to keep watch of each guest and to report as soon as Prince Arthur shows up.

Confused Itzel on the other side, sat staring at herself at the mirror. She had made a lot of mistakes making up. She always hated the make up and doesn’t know why she was having it on.

“I am sick and tired of this.” She hissed, dropping it aside.

She stared at the wall clock, it was only thirty minutes to to the ball.

“Oh, no.” She cried, “mother is going to kill me.”

Then a knock came at the door. Having ordered the person in, surprisingly, it was Hazel. As if hazel read her mind, she indeed needs her help.

Hazel glared at her from head to toe. “You still haven’t dressed yet?” She asked.

“I am not ready for this, Hazel. I think I am tired.”

“Itzel, you really have to attend the ball. I know Prince Arthur will be expecting you and…” She paused, then continue. “You must dance with him tonight. Just like mother told us last year, Prince Arthur will choose his bride tonight. You have to be chosen.”

Itzel sighed. “Do you think it is possible, that his Highess will find me worthy for his love?”

“Of course, Itzel. He already has. It’s left for you to decide if you are truly ready for that love.”

There was a brief silent, then Itzel started. “I had a dream, twice. They were the same and they looked real, so real like it was reality.”

“What is the dream?” Hazel asked.

“I saw Prince Arthur, he wanted me to marry him.”

“So…what did you tell him?”

“I rejected his proposal.”

Hazel’s eyes wΒ‘dened in annoyance. She looked away sighing. “Thank heavens it was a dream.”

“It looked real.”

“But it wasn’t.” She held Itzel’s hands, “now is reality, don’t let your mistake affect you. Honoria will do whatever it takes to have Prince Arthur in-between her thighs and that shouldn’t happen.”

“We only have today to decide what fate has for the three of you. I don’t know why but I believe my instincts. Come on, it’s almost time.” Hazel finally helped her with the decorations that Itzel couldn’t recognize herself.

She was extremely beautiful and looked perfectly gorgeous. Why haven’t she noticed this earlier?

The door banged open letting the three guards walk in.

“What is going on? How dare you walk into my room in such manner?” Asked Hazel angrily.

“Lady Honoria request you should be escorted out of the palace.” Said one of the guards.

“Why?” She asked.

“That we do not know.”

“I will go nowhere until I know her reasons for giving such orders.”

They stared at themselves then at her, ” With due respect, my lady, we will like you to follow us.”

“What if I insisted that I am going nowhere, what will you do with me?” She inquired but they said nothing. “I would love the three of you to leave my room this instant.”

“My lady…”

“Have you no ears?” Itzel yelled. “Leave!”

“Yes, my lady.” They left.

Itzel sighed heavily.

“I guess Lord Arthur has arrived.” Hazel suspected. “She is trying to take you out of the palace.”

“This isn’t the end. She will come, this time, by herself.”

“Then we must hurry up and leave.”

Outside her room, they sighted Honoria with the same guards who had come earlier heading to their direction. Hazel’s heart skipped for a bit but Itzel looked less bothered about her appearance.

“What are we going to do, Itzel?” Hazel asked, terrified.

“Don’t worry, it’s me she wants.” Itzel told her.

“You had the guts to dismiss my order?” Honoria said, stopping before them.

“Why do you want me out of the palace?” She questioned.

“Because you don’t deserve to be here. You hate the ball, and all of a sudden you just liked it.”

“It doesn’t matter if I hate the ball or not. I make the decision to go or to stay back.”

“Really? Well, I already made mine a long time ago. Hazel might have saved you the last time, but as far as I have waited patiently until this day, not even mother can change it.”

Itzel said nothing but kept watching her as she talked.

She looked at her guards, “take her away but don’t hurt her. I will still consider the sisterly love between us.” She smiled.

“Honoria, please… don’t do this.” Hazel pleaded.

“I’m sorry I already am.”

“My lady, please follow us.” They said.

“Honoria…”

“Hazel.” Her calm voice stopped her, “I will go with them.”

“Are you crazy?”

“Go. Tell him to come find me.” With that she followed the guards down the hallway then out of the castle.

Immediately, Hazel left, running into the crowded guests as her eyes searched for prince Arthur. And when she did found him, she sighed in relief.

Walking towards him, she held his strong arm causing him to look at her. “Lady Hazel?” He asked surprised.

“My Lord, I wish to tell you something.” She said, trembling.

“What is it?” He requested.

“Lady Itzel has been taken.”

“What happened?” He asked, this time anxious.

“My sister, Lady Honoria has ordered the guards to escort her out of the castle until it is dwan. She fears his Highess would request for a dance with Itzel and not her. Itzel wants you to find her.”

“Where can I find her?” He asked.

“You will make it to them if you leave on time for it is not quite long they had taken her.”

And without a wa-ist of his time, he left the hall in search of the missing princess.
