★WHAT IF SHE’S ALIVE?★

“Can I k-iss your l-ips again?” She blurted out

Romeo’s eyes went wide immediately and he got up

“No,you can’t” he said

“Why?” Pearl muttered,staring into his eyes

“Because….” He stopped for a while before he continued again

“I’m your brother Pearl,I know I started this okay? But last night,I shouldn’t have done that. I am sorry that I couldn’t stop myself,so let’s say it was a mistake,it won’t happen again. Even if I try doing that again,can you just push me away or just hit me back to my sense?? Huh?”

Pearl nodded slowly and Romeo smiled

“Goodnight” He said and k-issed her forehead

“I’m sleeping beside you” Pearl said and laid back on the bed

“But…..”

“Hey big brother,I heard everything you said okay? Last night was a mistake,I know it was but I don’t even know why I asked for it again. Like you said,we should forget about it,but can’t I at least sleep right beside you??” She asked

“Is this also wrong??….”she asked again

“No it’s not,you can sleep here” Romeo replied

Pearl pulled the duvet over her head and Romeo run his hands through his hair

Pearl faced him again

“Aren’t you going to sleep?” She asked

Romeo lie down on the bed beside Pearl.

“You didn’t ask about my test result” Pearl muttered

“How was it?” Romeo asked

“Should I be happy for coming second this time?” She asked

“That means you improved right?? You should be happy and study hærder next time” Romeo said

“I always study hærd and you know that,my only problem is maths” She pouted

Romeo pursed his l-ips and sighed.

“Goodnight Cherie” Pearl mumbled and closed her eyes,falling asleep while Romeo stroke her hair for some minutes.

He left her side and walked to the study table,he took Pearl’s note,she really left the assignment undone.

He took a pen and started solving the problems one after the other.

He finished solving the first part of it which is ten in number only to discover that there’s another ten left

“Wait…seriously?? Twenty questions and that lazy sister of mine is fast asleep already??” He scoffed and almost got up to wake Pearl up but he changed his mind.

He got up and walked to the mini fridge in his room,he opened it and brought out a strawberry pack. He returned to the study table and continue solving the questions,eating the strawberries slowly.

By the time he was done,it was about twelve.

He closed the books and turned to take a glance at Pearl who was sleeping soundly

“What if the teacher ask her to solve the questions on the board tomorrow?? But it’s better than getting punished right?” He sighed and stood up.

He walked to the bed,staring at Pearl,the duvet was already somewhere else as she moved from one side of the bed to another

Romeo chuckled and covered her up again before lying gently beside her,and then slowly he also fell asleep.

******

NEXT MORNING**

Mrs Cayden opened the door and entered Pearl’s room

“Pearl??? Baby?” She called but no response

She opened the bathroom and it was empty also

“Where is she??” She muttered and walked out

She walked to Romeo’s room and knocked,she entered when she got no response

“Seriously??” She said,seeing them both still sleeping

“Romeo” she tapped him and Romeo opened his eyes

“Are you two planning to skip school?? You won’t wake up?? And why is she here? Did she got scared and came to your room in the midnight again?” Mrs Cayden asked

“No,she insisted last night that she’s going to sleep here” Romeo answered

“Wake her up and get ready for school,,I will be early today. We have a dinner with some family Friend,they will be coming over” Mrs Cayden said and blew Romeo a k-iss before going out

“Family friend or business partner?” Romeo muttered and turned to Pearl

“Candy,wake up if you don’t wanna get punished because I won’t wait for you after getting dressed” Romeo said,getting down from the bed

“Hey brother,when did you became this heartless? You won’t wait for me?” Pearl sat up

“Heartless? That should be the last thing to call me” Romeo chuckled and left the room

Pearl gr-0aned out sleepily and got down from the bed,she walked to the study table and packed her books incautiously and then left Romeo’s room.

She got back to her room and dropped the books into her bag.

She entered the bathroom

RAINBOW HIGHSCHOOL**

“See you later Cherie” Pearl rushed out of the car and ran off

She bumped into Bonnie

“Easy easy baby girl” Bonnie said

“Am I late or not?” Pearl asked

“Yes you are but our teacher is absent” Bonnie said and Pearl inhaled

“So,where are you going?” She asked Bonnie

“To submit my maths assignment,have you done yours? I’ve never seen such assignment,why would she give us twenty questions to solve?” Bonnie scoffed and Pearl gasped

“What happened?” Bonnie asked

“I didn’t…….” Pearl dropped her bag and immediately brought out her maths note

She opened it and was shocked to see the twenty questions all solved in there,obviously Romeo’s hand work. He even had to write it in her own handwriting….

“Gosh he’s the best brother in the whole universe for real” she mumbled,smiling widely

“So what’s up?” Bonnie asied

“Let’s go and submit it together” Pearl smiled

“Romeo!!” Juliet ran after him as usual and Romeo sighed out

“Morning” she caught up with him

“Morning Juliet” Romeo managed to say that

All of a sudden,Betsy came between them,pushing Juliet away

“What the h*ll!” Juliet yelled but Betsy ignored her and faced Romeo

“I heard we were given the physics project topic already,have you gotten ours?” She asked

“No I haven’t” Romeo replied

“Then,let’s go get it together” Betsy smiled

“I was about telling him that,just Stay away,He’s going with me not you” Juliet snapped

Betsy faced her

“Who are you?” She asked

Juliet scoffed

“I guess you’re too blind to know who I am….”

“No,you’re too tiny for me to notice” Betsy said and Juliet got mad,she raised her hand to slap Betsy but Romeo grabbed her hand from the back and threw it off angrily

“Are you two serious right now?? If you are going to keep on fighting this way then I’m not interested,you two can get the topic yourselves” Romeo said and walked away angrily

Betsy and Juliet exchanged glares before Betsy left first

“I suddenly hate her,who the f**k does she think she is?” Juliet scoffed

“I hate her more than you do” Cassie appeared behind her and Juliet turned

“How come you always hate people I hate?” She asked

“Maybe it’s fate” Cassie chuckled and walked to the front

“But I think I hate Betsy more than any other person now” Juliet followed.

They both entered the class and the first thing Cassie saw was Princeton and Lyric

Must they always be together?? She thought angrily

She didn’t think twice before walking over to them,

“Hey Princeton,come with me” Cassie said

Princeton and Lyric looked up

“For what?” Princeton asked

“I want to talk to you” Cassie said

Princeton turned to Lyric

“I will be back” He said and Lyric nodded

Cassie roll her eyes and left the class while Princeton followed

“Where the h*ll is Donovan anyway?” Lyric muttered,staring at the paper in her hand,it’s the list of their project details they will be working on

“Anyone looking for me?” Donovan asked from the back,whispering into her ear

Lyric gasped

“Hey,are you crazy? What was that for?” She snapped

“Did that single act turned you on?” Donovan smirked before sitting beside her

“It’s a complete turn off” Lyric scoffed

“Turn off?? You’re lying right? Just by doing that alone,another girl would have went nak*d right in front of me” Donovan said

“Wow,I can see how proud you are about your life” Lyric said and gave a piece of the A4 paper to him

“Finally it’s out,do you think everyone have the same topic?” Donovan asked

“Nope I don’t think so,but we have to work out to come out with convincing points” Lyric said

“Trust me,Physics is like a soft br**st to me” Donovan grinned and Lyric pulled his hair

“Aww” He gr-0aned

“Stop being raw beside me,do you understand?” Lyric asked,pulling his hair more hærder

“Yes ma’am,I understand….what the f**k?” He rub his head when Lyric released him

“Is Cassie trying to date Princeton back? What are they talking about?” Lyric said

“What’s your business with that?” Donovan chuckled and Lyric roll her eyes

Princeton came into the class and they both looked up,but he passed them and went straight to his seat

“What’s wrong with him?” Lyric muttered,staring at Princeton who had an angry look on his face

Then Cassie came in too,Lyric looked at her but Cassie shot her a glare

“I guess they fought” Donovan muttered

“Yeah right,but why would she make Princeton mad? They broke up right?” Lyric asked

“She’s in love with him” Donovan whispers and Lyric nodded

JUNIORS BLOCK**

“Settle down class,the maths teacher is on his way” Everest warned as he distributed their notes back to them

Immediately the students started murmuring

“I knew I wouldn’t get ten out of that twenty questions”

“How can she give us such questions,I hærdly understand a thing”

“I managed to score nine”

“What’s the highest score for now?? Hey Everest,what’s your score?” Milo asked as Everest sat down and opened his note

“Ten” Everest muttered

“Since Everest scored ten,who am I to be sad because I scored five?” A boy suddenly said and the class burst into laughter

“You mean you score five out of twenty!” Bonnie asked,still laughing

Pearl on the other hand haven’t opened hers yet

“What’s your score?” Everest asked her

“Right Pearl,what did you score?” Another student asked

Pearl slowly opened her note

Everest’s eyes w¡dened

“Twenty??” He asked and immediately the students rushed to their seat

“How did you get everything??”

“Wow,I can’t believe my eyes..”

“Everyone back to your seats please” Everest gr-0aned and they started leaving one after the other,murmuring

Everest turned to Pearl

“How did you get everything?” He asked

Pearl closed her note and shook her head

“Morning class” The maths teacher came in,interrupting their conversation

“So,I gave you all some maths problems to solve,and I was disappointed to see the low marks. Only two of you were able to get an average of ten marks out of twenty…and that’s Pierce and Everest while the rest of your scored some marks I don’t wanna say. And you April,how come you scored Zero??”

The class laughed and April bite her l-ips

“Pearl” The teacher faced her and she looked up

“Yes ma’am”

“How did you get the mark? I don’t want to believe Romeo did that for you” The teacher said

“He…..he explained everything to me” Pearl muttered,biting her l-ips,hoping she won’t bother calling her out

“If you can do those twenty questions correctly like you said with the help of your brother,then let him keep tutoring you more,your maths cumulative aren’t impressive at all” The teacher said and Pearl nodded

“Settle down,I will be doing the corrections on the board,make sure you listen attentively coz another twenty questions will be coming your way today” She said and walked to the board and the students started murmuring

Pearl let out a loud sigh checking her notes again,the answers and workings were so neat and perfect,she smiled out.

******

CAMERON’S PLACE**

Cameron was lying on the bed,his face up with his phone in his hand. He turned when the door suddenly opened and his mom came in

“Mom” he called

“And can you tell why the h*ll you’re not in school?” Mrs Lush asked

She’s a single mother who lost her husband in an accident about twelve years ago alongside with her daughter,according to history,Cameron was not in the car when the accident happened but Mrs Lush survived,her husband died on the s₱0t while their baby girl was nowhere to be found when she woke up.

“Mom,I’m just tired. I wanna rest,please mom” Cameron pleaded

“A rest?? Then you should be taking a nap right now Cameron,you should start getting serious with your studies” Mrs Lush said

“I promise” Cameron smiled and got down from the bed

“If you’re trying to come hug me then you’re wrong” She said

Cameron ignored what she said and hugged her tightly

“I love you mom” He muttered and k-issed her cheek

Suddenly her phone started ringing,Cameron moved back and she answered the call

“Johnny,any news?” Mrs Lush asked on the phone and then suddenly her eyes fell

Cameron sighed,knowing what’s going on. He could see a tear sliding down his mom’s eyes after she hanged up

“Are you still looking for her?” She asked

“What do you expect me to do? Let go of her?” Mrs Lush asked in tears

“But mom,what if she’s dead? Huh? You told me you’ve been searching for twelve years already,can’t you just give up? I can’t even remember her face anymore,I can’t remember having a kid sister because I was hærdly six when the accident happened like you said…….”

“Shut up Cameron,you don’t know anything. I can’t give up until I find her grave to be sure she’s dead,but for now,I have a huge feeling that my baby is alive and I’m going to find her,so don’t mind me and just study” Mrs Lush said and walked out of the room

Cameron gr-0aned

He stood up and walked to the wardrobe

He opened it and brought out the only picture he’s been keeping for twelve years,it’s a picture of him and his kid sister. He only lied to his mom,he also hope they will be able to find her.

“I’m sure you are going to be a beauty wherever you are right now” he muttered and touched her face in the picture

He immediately wiped the slow tears rolling down from his eyes,he dropped the picture and fell back on the bed

******

RAINBOW HIGH**

After the maths class,Pearl walked out,looking for Romeo. She bought out her phone and sent him a text

*HEY CHERIE,WHERE ARE YOU?*

*LIBRARY*

Immediately he replied,she smiled and took to her heels,running excitedly until she got to the library.

She passed through the numbers of shelves before she saw Romeo sitting.

“Cherie!” She called and ran to him

“What happened? You look happy” Romeo said

“You did my assignment” She muttered

“You didn’t get punished right?” Romeo asked and she shook her head

“I love you” She said and Romeo’s heart started racing as she said that.

He bite his l-ips and sighed

“I love you too” He muttered

Pearl k-issed his cheek

“I need to go,see you later” She waved and ran out of the library again leaving Romeo with a racing heart

He touched his chest

“Does she even know what she’s doing to me or I’m the only one dying inwardly?” He muttered
