★ CHAPTER 7&8 ★

FIVE MINUTES LATER**

Everyone were already seated on the couches, all except Diva who was standing in the middle, chewing the egg in her mouth as she stared at everyone.

“I’ll make a proper intro now. I’m Bae Diva, your new main vocal sent here by Manager Kim. I trained under Rainbow entertainment too, to be a soloist though, but now that I got the chance to be part of my best kpop group, I won’t lose the chance” she smiled, the mole below her lower lip adding to her prettiness.

“Your best kpop group?” Piper blinked.

“Yeah, I’ve been following you guys since you debuted last year, i love you guys cos of your consistency” Diva replied, and Jazzy gave her a look of disbelief.

“Hey Mr. Coward!” She waved.

“Mr. Coward?” Jazzy scoffed.

“Isn’t that the right name for you? You almost jumped down the skyscraper” she rolled eyes.

“But I still didn’t jump” he replied.

“And that’s cos I saved you” she rolled eyes again.

“Did you save me to hear thanks?” He replied with another scoff.

“It’s enough, please” Freddy cut in, and they both released heavy breaths at once.

“Ok…so the thing about this band being your favorite, I still don’t get it. Why would we be your favorite when there’s H. O. T and MOONLIGHT?” Lyric said slowly.

“So you guys still don’t believe?” Diva curved her lips and pointed at Jazzy.

“Jung Jazzy, 22 years old, you’re from the countryside and you have old parents down there, the only son of the family” she said, and his eyes widened as she faced Freddy.

“Freddy Lee, 22 years old, you’re from Daegu, you have only your mum, and you’re the second son out of three” she said and faced Piper.

“Piper Moon, you’ll be 22 this month-end, you’re from Itaewon, you’re an orphan and only child” she said and turned to Lyric.

“Lyric Park, you’re 19, from the countryside too, you’re the youngest daughter of your family, they’re farmers” she said, and they all stood at once, clapping loudly for her.

“Whoa! Welcome to the band Diva!” Piper smiled out her cheeks, and Diva nodded excitedly.

“So who was your bias?” Jazzy asked.

“You’re not expecting me to mention you, right?” Diva rolled eyes.

“Why would I?” He pocketed his hands with a scoff.

“It’s Freddy” she said.

“Yes!” Freddy jumped and she giggled.

“Nice to meet you, I love your voice too” he smiled, and they hugged.

“Best friends?” He asked.

“No I have a bestie already so let’s be close friends instead” she replied, and they did a fist bump

“Come big sis I’ll show you to the girls room” Lyric grabbed her hand.

“Jagiya(baby), don’t worry I know it already, I checked everywhere out when I came” she replied.

“Really?” Piper blinked, and they all rushed to the girls room to see her things arranged already.

“You’re so cool” Lyric gushed.

“It’s fast though” Freddy said.

“I got here two hours ago and I made use of it” Diva replied, and Piper sighed.

“Now the band is back, let’s make it together” she said.

“I didn’t see the practice room though” Diva said.

“Wasn’t expecting you to see it, it’s secluded” Freddy giggled.

“Change into practice outfits everybody, it’s almost night practice time, let’s do the first practice with her right now” Jazzy said.

“Yes!” Lyric and Piper rushed into the girls room.

“Really? You accept me? Mr. Coward!” Diva shouted.

“I don’t have a choice as you can see” he replied.

“You’re the best Jazzy! I’ll go change!” She gushed and rushed into the girls room too.

“She’s crazy” Jazzy muttered.

“Just what we need here, I like her” Freddy replied with a bright smile before entering his room.

Jazzy smiled and entered his room too.

FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER, PRACTICE ROOM**

It’s smaller than normal practice rooms, walled with mirrors so they can see a reflection of themselves while practicing, the speakers aren’t connected to the walls yet, so they use a big MP3 player.

Piper was the last to come in, wearing joggers like others. Lyric is wearing a bum short, looking cute in her pink singlet.

“I’ll have to teach you Rhapsody’s dance and lines since you’re taking those” Piper said.

“Teach? No need I know , you’ve only sang one song and I know the lyrics from A-Z, I watched your dance practice video and I know the dance moves of everyone too, Rhapsody’s moves are too simple so let’s just do this” Diva smiled.

“Are you sure?” Freddy asked.

“Trust me” she blew him a kiss, and he smiled. How can a girl be so cute?

They all stood on their appropriate spots, and Lyric rushed to play the music on the MP before rushing back to her spot.

Their signature intro boomed so loud.

Then they began the dance and lip sync with the song.

DIVA: When the night comes, look up at the sky.

This time, they all have to step to the front one by one and dance.

It was Lyric first, after she finished twerking her flat @ss, she swept her hair back with the song tempo and went back for Freddy.

His body is so flexible that when he began whining his waist, one would think he’s a girl, he finished up and Piper took the stage.

She’s the main dancer, so her moves are more interesting and time consuming.

She removed the cap she’s wearing and threw it forward before going back, then Jazzy and Diva came last.

They held hands and danced modern ballerina, and surprisingly, Diva got all the moves right just like she got the song.

She moved her waist with his own, and he held her hip before turning her to face him.

He slipped his hand on her waist next, and they held eyes as their foreheads rested on each other.

The rest stood by their sides, looking at them.

OUTRO: We rock, we rule/2× make us your heart controllers, no heartbreaks… it’s safe with TRUE LOVE.

Their gazes burned, and they suddenly turned their faces to the front together with the rest, they interlocked their left fingers before stretching their right palms forward together, closing the stage.

Diva released a loud exhale, and they all faced her expressionlessly.

“What? Didn’t I do well? Should we do it again?” She asked in confusion, but they kept staring.

“Guys, is the suspense really necessary? Should I pack my things and leave? You guys should…

“Damn!!!” Freddy and Piper screamed at a time, rushing to hug her tightly together.

“You’re the real deal Diva, trust me you killed it, I wanted to scream during the dance but I didn’t want to ruin it” Freddy said.

“You’re too good, what the heck are you? Singing machine? I love your voice, it’s even tinier during the song” Piper smiled.

“I love you so much already, please don’t leave us like Rhapsody” Lyric said, and Diva smiled.

“There’ll be no reason to leave, so get ready for a lifetime with me!” She gushed, and they all hugged her again except Jazzy who kept standing.

“What should we have for dinner? Lyric asked.

“Rice? We can make kimchi to go with it” Piper replied.

“Last person to get to the kitchen…”

Freddy hasn’t finished talking when they all rushed out of the room, except Diva and Jazzy though.

Diva faced Jazzy who was staring at her awkwardly.

“So…you have nothing to say to me? Leader” she pouted, and he blinked.

“Me? No” He said.

“I knew it, you’re a punk” she scoffed and started walking out of the room.

“Chakaman (wait a minute)” he suddenly said, and she stopped.

“Thanks for saving me last night, I promise it won’t happen again, I’ll never act irrational again” he said, and she smiled.

“And about the practice, you were awesome… Than Rhapsody. Thanks for choosing to come here, a lot” he said, and she smiled wider as she faced him.

“You’re a good boy after all, gimme my hug!” She ran to him and hugged him before he knew it.

“What?” He asked.

“The others hugged me, I’m just taking my share from you” she replied, and he smiled, but the smile disappeared when she suddenly went behind him and jumped on his back.

“Diva!” he gasped.

“Give me a piggyback ride” she said, wrapping her arms on his chest as her head rested on his shoulder.

“Are you like this with everyone?” He asked, adjusting her on his back.

“Yes” she laughed.

“You’re crazy” he replied as he started taking her out of the room.

“Of course, I’m Bae Diva” she laughed again.

“You’re really very proud about your name” he said.

” Isn’t it s*xy?” She replied, and he laughed.

“You’re seriously an handful” he chuckled, adjusting her on his back again.

“Your dimples are cute” she said.

“You’ve got a one-sided dimple too, on your right cheek” he replied.

“You noticed?” She blinked.

“I have eyes” he replied, and she smiled on his back as he left the corridor completely.

8:30PM, HWANG MANSION**

Mr. Hwang’s driver drove him in in his foreign car, and he came down with secretary Jo.

He was about to go in when the phone rang with the secretary, and when he finished speaking to the caller, he faced Mr. Hwang.

“I think we have a problem sir”

“And what might that be?”

“Vee, he apparently beat up the popular rapper, Vodka. He has the footage and is threatening to release it tommorow morning” secretary Jo replied, and his eyes widened.

“What!”

Secretary Jo went silent as Mr. Hwang hit his palms on the car body furiously.

“What are you waiting for? Meet him and settle it with any amount he wants! If it gets out then it’s done for me! I’m so done!” He shouted.

“Yes sir” secretary Jo bowed and left in the car.

Mr. Hwang stormed into the house and went to Vee’s room, but he’s not in.

“He hasn’t returned” the old maid said behind him, and he grabbed the wall tightly, huffing angrily as he continued standing.

“That bastard! I took him in when no one was willing to, and this is what he’s paying me with?” He ranted.

TRUE LOVE DORM, 9PM**

Dinner has just been consumed, and right now they’re all sitting at the small balcony, viewing the moon and stars from there, they look so beautiful.

“Can’t wait for the beach tommorow” Freddy sighed.

Lyric was smiling, holding firmly to her brown teddy as her lids flicked.

“Wish I could pluck stars from the sky, I’ll be the happiest person living” she said.

“Really? Pluck stars or pluck money from trees? Which would you go for?” Freddy replied.

“The money” she replied slowly, and they all laughed.

“Stars are beautiful but I guess money is more beautiful” Jazzy said.

“When we get the money, then stars can start being more beautiful” Diva said with a sigh.

“So who’s your bias in MOONLIGHT?” Piper asked, facing Diva.

“I’m not a lunar, i didn’t stan them” she replied.

“Why? But they’re awesome girls, I badly wanna be like their Maknae” Lyric replied.

“I prefer creating my own standards to follow, ion follow others” Diva replied.

“That’s a whole new vibe” Jazzy said.

“I know, right? I just hope we get to climb the ladder one day” Freddy smiled.

“We will, now that I’m here” Diva replied confidently.

“She’s so proud” Jazzy muttered, and they all laughed again.

“Diva eonni, I really wanna know more about you” Lyric suddenly said.

“Nothing much to know. I’m from Incheon, an orphan whose mother died years ago, and whose father abandoned since then” she replied.

“Father abandoned you? Meaning he’s still alive, you’re not an orphan” Jazzy said.

“I count myself as one, I don’t see him as my dad anymore” she replied, and they all went silent.

“So I have a bestie, Hwang Vee” she smiled.

“Same Hwang Vee? The handsome son of the assemblyman?” Freddy said surprisingly, and Diva’s phone rang immediately.

“Here he is!” She smiled before picking the call.

“Vee!” She stood.

“Why aren’t you at your place? I’m in front of your house but…

“You didn’t see my message? I texted you about leaving the house and…

“Let’s meet, please” he said calmly.

“Sure, where?” She asked, and after he told her the location, she hung up.

“I need to go meet him, ASAP” she said to the rest.

“You should go with the bus, you can drive, right?” Freddy replied.

“Nope, Jazzy will drive me” she said.

“I never agreed” he replied, and she sighed.

“Then should I drive myself to death?”

“Fine” he replied, standing up so they left the house together.

He drove her as promised, and she smiled when they entered the main road.

“Don’t do that again” she said.

“What?”

“Trying suicide” she replied.

“How many times do you want me to say it? I’ll never try it anymore ok?” He said, and she smiled again before closing her eyes on her headrest.

They finally got to the location, and she rushed out of the car to meet Vee waiting in front of the building.

Jazzy stayed in the car, watching as she ran to meet him.

“What happened to your face!” She quickly touched his plastered head, but he took her hand away, caressing it.

“Did you move? Why didn’t you tell me anything? Who’s he?” He asked at once, glancing at Jazzy in the car.

“I explained it all in the text I sent. I got signed as the main vocal of TRUE LOVE and I moved to their dorm and that’s Jazzy, our leader, he…

“I didn’t see the text” he interrupted, searching through her eyes.

“I’m sorry, but I really…

“I’m not saying you should say sorry, it just caught me unawares” he replied, and she smiled, taking her hand from him to hold his face.

“What happened to your face? Tell me everything” she said.

“I got attacked by my dad’s enemies” he lied, and her eyes widened.

“What!”

“But I’m fine” he replied, pulling her into a tight hug.

“But your face…

“Stop worrying, your Vee is fine” he cut her off, and she smiled before hugging him back.

He began stroking her hair.

Jazzy blinked in the car and gave them a suspicious look.

“What’s this? Anyone would think they’re dating” he muttered.

******

VODKA’S PLACE**

“You should get your face treated at the hospital” his manager (Min) said as he disinfected the bruises.

“Then have the whole media talk about my wounds tommorow? Nah I hate it. He wouldn’t have gotten the chance if you were here anyways” he replied, rolling eyes.

“Are you really not gonna report him?” Min asked.

“His dad just credited me millions of dollars to keep my mouth shut, and I’m keeping shut for now, but not in the future” Vodka smiled knowingly and stood.

“Diva is gone, I got tired of all my f**kmates already, I feel so bored” he said.

“Should I get the girl?” Min asked.

“What girl?”

“The one you stared at in the studio earlier, I got her number and address” Min replied.

“Really?” Vodka’s eyes brightened lustfully.

“Trust me” he smiled.

“Right away, get her here” Vodka replied.

GLORY VILLA**

Rhett was already asleep in bed as Fave and Rhapsody walked around the bedroom like they’re waiting for something.

“Are you really sure his manager got your number and address?” Fave asked again.

“I know what I’m saying, His manager met me after I entered the taxi!” Rhapsody replied.

“Then why isn’t he calling?” Fave said impatiently, and the doorbell rang immediately.

Their eyes widened at once, and they both faced each other before rushing to the door.

Fave opened the door, and Min’s face came to view.

“Manager” Rhapsody smiled.

“Vodka wants me to bring you to him, right now” Min replied.

“Yes!” Fave jumped.
