🌹 CHRISTEN 🌹

Heading out to Evlyn’s assembly made my heart beat incredibly fast. This reaction was obvious from the start cause I and the other witches/wizards would be clashing with the most powerful witch that ever existed. I should have been afraid about all of this but to my surprise, I wasn’t.

Fighting isn’t really my thing and unlike the other witches and wizards with enormous needs, I’m a simple witch with simple needs. There’s nothing that I prefer more than to stay in my favorite spot back at home communing with nature or better yet having Riley’s arms around me but unfortunately due to the circumstances that I’m in, I’ll have to do whatever it take to protect the things and people I love.
Presently here in Oyo, here I was with everyone at the entrance of the old witch coven. Everyone was tensed up about getting that it was showing in their faces and just as we were about to make our move, a booming clap of thunder and lightning struck the skies suddenly making everyone jump with fright. This is certainly unexpected cause the night skies were clear and there was no storms around. Rose who was barely bothered by what had happened snickered and then addressed us mockingly.

Rose ➡ Cowards!! It’s just a little lightning. The real threat is inside this Coven. If you’re all acting like this, how do you suppose to fight?
.

In that moment, Orisaye’s clone which she had created using her magic intervened and filled out hers with courage.
.

Orisaye ➡ That’s enough Rose. Nobody is invisible and in order to succeed, we need to all stick together. This is a life or death situation so everyone should remain focused. I’ll try as much as I can to support you all. Christen!

Christen ➡ Yes, your eminence?
.

Orisaye ➡ Remember, you’re our shield. Don’t fail us.
.

Christen ➡ I’ll try my best.
.

Orisaye ➡ Alright everyone. Let’s go.
.

After that, We all proceeded to the coven’s entrance and entered the place. As we got inside the coven, we saw ourselves in a different environment or rather dimension. Here before our very eyes were dozens of bone bridges from all sides linking to a big catacomb with so many passages. Beneath the bridges was a dark void below and if anyone were to mistakenly fall off this bridge without having the ability to fly is definitely a goner.
Everyone began to mumble as they saw the coven, I’ve never been here before but the place is just giving me awful vibes. Rose who was also curious and somewhat cautious began to ask Orisaye series of questions.

Rose ➡ Your eminence!? Are we in the right place?
.

Orisaye ➡ This is the coven but it’s not as I remember it.
.

Rose ➡ Evlyn! She must have been behind this. This place looks ancient.
.

Christen ➡ It’s like we’ve jumped back to the days of old.
.

Orisaye ➡ Let’s just be careful. We’re in Evlyn’s territory now and I’m pretty sure she’s laid a trap for us.
.

Rose ➡ Let’s do a little testing, just in case.
.

In that moment, Rose summoned her shadow monsters to cross over the bridge and as they did nothing happened or so we thought. After that, everyone on us began to cross the bridge and we kept a safe distance between ourselves. Immediately we reached the middle of the bridge, we heard a loud screeching sound that echoed the void and within a blink of an eye, hundreds of winged creatures appeared from the void below and began to attack us.
Despite being caught by surprise, some of us acted quickly to defend ourselves while some began to retaliate. Rose wasted no time in unleashing her black shadow rods on the winged creatures and as for myself, I had to use lightning and wind attacks since there was no plants around. The winged creatures kept on coming and coming despite being decimated and before long, things started to get intense and very frustrating.

Christen ➡ Just how many of them are there?
.

Witch 1 ➡ What’s the matter, Christen? Getting tired already.
.

Wizard 2 ➡ Some shield she is. She’s just simple attacks.
.

Christen ➡ Stop bothering me!
.

Rose ➡ They’re right sister. You need to do better. Is that you’ve got? Pity.
.

Christen ➡ Don’t….underestimate… Me!!!
.

I was so flared up by rage that I nearly lost myself. In that moment, I surprised everyone by summoning thousands of locusts at my command and not any locusts, fleshing eating locusts unleashing them on the winged creatures. Immediately I casted that spell, the tables quickly turned and everything was over within minutes. However, that wasn’t the end of our troubles. As soon as the winged creatures were gone, something bigger and louder appeared from the void and it’s roar shook the entire coven to it’s core. At first, there was a rumbling sound, then moments later, a giant monster emerged from the void and appeared before us. Seeing the monster’s features made some of us tremble with fright, it was so round in shape and it had no face, hands or legs except for it’s massive eye that was nearly as big as the body. Another scary thing about this monster was that it can fly, since it had no legs or hands to move flying is the only thing this monster has to do so.
After staring at all of us, the monster’s massive eye began to glow and with a blink of an eye, it began to unleash some kind of shockwave that drove all of us mad with pain. The feeling of shockwave felt like we were being tortured in all sorts of ways, the pain was just too much that our noses were dripping with blood. However, this worse was yet to come.

Christen ➡ (moans painfully) What… Kind of… monster is this?
.

Rose ➡ (grunting painfully) Must be Evlyn’s pet.. Christen!!!
.

Christen ➡ Wha… What is happening to me?
.

In that moment, I felt myself being levitated from the ground and it wasn’t my doing. I wasn’t the only one who was lifted from the ground either. After I and some of the witches/wizards were lifted into the air, the horror began. The witch which I had dealt with at the council was the first to meet her doom, her body was crushed and squeezed like tomato right in front of us, her bones snapped and pierced out of her flesh. The sight was truly horrible and it was then we all realized what we were dealing with. This eyed monster has the ability of telekinesis.
After eliminating it’s first victim, the eyed monster killed 2 more before it eventually turned it’s attention to me. The monster tried to crush me but I resisted using every ounce of energy I had. Despite my efforts, the monster persisted and eventually began to overcome me, I screamed out painfully as I felt my joints twisting, the pain hurt so much that blood was dripping out of my ears as well, but before death could reach me, something unexpected occured.
Within a blink of eye, I found myself in a dark void. For a moment, I thought I was dead but I had it all wrong, I was deep inside my subconscious. In that moment, I heard a faint voice talking to me but as the voice became clearer and loud, I realized it was my voice. Before long, I saw a doppelganger of myself standing before me. There was something different and dark about this other me, she was the exact opposite of me. She was wild, full of bad vibes and worst of all, evil. She stared at me in a cruel and menacing way before letting out a vicious laughter.

Dark Christen ➡ Well, well, well. After all that talk about protecting what you love, here you are in this pathetic state. Unbelievable.
.

Christen ➡ You’re not real.
.

Dark Christen ➡ Oh, I’m very real. In fact, if our mother hadn’t died, this is what you would have turned out to be.
.

Christen ➡ No.. This isn’t real. There’s no way that I’d..
.

Dark Christen ➡ What? Be like this? Oh Christen, you already are. It’s your nature. Our dear sister Rose is the innocent one, our mother’s death corrupted her. In fact, if our mother was still alive, she would have been the gentle one.
.

Christen ➡ Evlyn’s tricks won’t work on me.
.

Dark Christen ➡ Listen you selfish b-tch!!! This is no trick. Evlyn’s not doing this. You are. That darkness that you’ve kept dormant for years is starting to take control. You keep telling yourself that you’re not like the other witches but it’s not true. You have power christen, unfathomable power within your grasp and you don’t see it. You’re more powerful than you think, a witch that manipulates nature is no joke. This world is filled with tons of natural energy and if you had reached out to it, the fate of the world would be in the palm of your hands. The magic you’ll possess will be far more greater than you’ve ever dreamed of.

Christen ➡ Nothing you say will tempt me. I’ll never be like you.
.

Dark Christen ➡ Oh really? Then what happened at the council when you assaulted that witch huh? You felt it, didn’t you? The darkness in you rising. It’s all your doing. This Evlyn situation is pushing you further and further into the darkness. It will be easier if you just accept and embrace it.
.

Christen ➡ NO! NO! NO.
.

Dark Christen ➡ What’s the matter? Afraid that Riley will finally see the real you? Don’t worry Christen, Riley is ours and he will always be. Our union can never be severed. You can be rest assured that Riley will love you no matter what.

Christen ➡ Don’t ever speak his name. DON’T YOU EVER!!
.

Dark Christen ➡ Jeez! Calm down.
.

Christen ➡ I’ll never let you take over. NEVER!
.

Dark Christen ➡ You still don’t get it do you? You and I are already one. I’m the negative part of you. Everyone has a good side and the bad side and I am your bad side. The dark you. Your desperation to protect what you have built with Riley is pushing you towards me. As far as we’re both concerned, you’re the one in control, not me.
.

Although, I hate to admit me but the other me was right. I vowed to do whatever it takes to protect those that I love even if it meant destroying the world. The more things became intense, the more I become what I’ve always dreaded.

Dark Christen ➡ Let’s face it Christen, this isn’t the time to be a softie. It’s time to embrace what you really are.

Christen ➡ And what’s that?

Dark Christen ➡ A witch! That identify you’ve been claiming all these years is just a farce. Accept what you are!
.

Christen ➡ You want me to be killing people!?
.

Dark Christen ➡ Why? Is it because of Riley? So what? He married a witch, not a human! So he should accept whatever it is that you will do. You’re on the verge of dying Christen, seconds from now, that monster is going to crush us to pieces so unless you embrace this side of you, you’ll never see Riley or your kids ever again. What’s it going to be? Die or be a witch that you were always meant to be. You choose.

Christen ➡ How do you expect me to fight that monster! My magic won’t be effective in this dimension.
.

Dark Christen ➡ (laughs) See this one. Is that what you think? You’re a witch that manipulates nature! Nature is everywhere. You don’t need trees or wind to do your bidding. Natures consumes and Nature creates, Nature destroys and Nature restores. Tell me Christen, what are you going to do?
.

After that statement, I was zapped back into my tormenting reality and in that moment, I knew what I had to do. Just as the eyed monster was about to finish me off, I quickly did something that I vowed to myself never to do and that was to drain another living being’s life-force.
Everyone gasped as they saw me draining the life-force of the eyed monster and I have to admit, it felt incredible. The feeling was like thundering org-sm, the life-force of the eyed monster made me feel alive like never before, my strength and magic skyrocketed in that moment making me feel powerful.
Seeing that I was feeding from it, the eyed monster tried to crush me but it was already too late. I was now 10x stronger than I was moments ago and I felt completely and utterly different. In the end, the eye monster tried to retreat but prevented it from doing so by taking control of it’s body. The monster struggled trying to escape but I pinned it in mid air and struck it hard with a powerful blast of lightning. The lightning was so powerful that it sparked all over the void, the monster squealed painfully as I tortured it with lightning and whilst I was doing that, a vicious smile crossed over my face enjoying every moment of what I was doing.
Eventually after minutes of brutal lightning torture, the monster was reduced to dust and after that everything was over. Everyone thought they had seen something shocking and unexpected but what came next made them tremble with discomfort. Shortly after I had reduced the monster to dust, I gave out a excited scream before laughing out viciously into the void. Rose who was more shocked then everyone came behind me and placed her hand on my shoulder but I brushed her off staring at her defiantly.

Rose ➡ Christen.. Are you okay?
.

Christen ➡ Okay? I’ve never felt more ALIVE (laughs) so this is what it feels like to feed on someone’s life-force?
.

Rose ➡ Christen, this isn’t you.
.

Christen ➡ What? Isn’t this what you’ve always wanted? For me to be like you…. Wait! What’s that look on your face?
.

Rose ➡ You’re acting strange little sister!
.

Christen ➡ Don’t call me little sister! I’m not a kid. I’m an responsible adult! What I do is none of your business.
.

Rose ➡ Oh really? Is this how you want to go home? How would you kids feel if they saw you like this? Tell me! If Riley were here, how would he feel?
.

Immediately Rose said that, the new me disappeared and the old me returned. I felt ashamed of myself in that moment but deep down, I wasn’t really sorry about what I did. I had already crossed the line now and there is no going back and after feeling that incredible sensation, there’s no way in hell I’d get back to what I used to be.

Christen ➡ Rose.. I’m sorry. I didn’t know what came over me.
.

Rose ➡ It’s okay. It must have been the effect of the life-force you fed on.
.

Christen ➡ Where’s the Supreme witch’s clone?
.

Rose ➡ It disappeared. Her magic must have been affected by the monster’s telekinesis. Looks like we’re on our own.
.

Christen ➡ So it seems. So what now?
.

Rose ➡ We’ll proceed to the catacomb and find Evlyn’s assembly. Are you sure you can continue?
.

Christen ➡ Why not? Let’s go .

🌹 ROSE 🌹

Something’s definitely wrong with Christen, I know it. I may not have been the best big sister or a role model to her but I know her in and out. It’s true that I’ve always wanted Christen to be like the other witches but this is just too much. Watching her drain that monster was suppose to be exciting but then she began to give off a very sinister vibe that made my spine chill.
At first, I thought it was my imagining things but after seeing Christen reduce that monster to dust, I saw a side of her that I’ve never thought I’d ever see. She was like a whole new witch, completely from what she used to be. That sweet gentle face of hers was replaced by a wild ferocious look like that of a rapid predator not to mention the vicious smile on her face was like that of a dark storms of hell. It was horrifying. I don’t know what caused her to change this much but whatever it is, I don’t like it at all.

Presently, here I was with Christen and the others inside the catacomb’s heading to wherever it leads us and as we were half way inside the catacomb, the walls and passage began to echo with wailing noises. It was pretty clear that we were getting close to the assembly but we decided to be cautious about it.

Rose ➡ Alright everyone. We’re getting close.
.

Christen ➡ Yes but where are we going? There are so many passages.
.

Rose ➡ There’s no need to worry. The shadows told me which way we should go. Keep your guard up, I have a feeling things are going to be intense.
.

Christen ➡ I certainly hope so. (giggles devilishly)
.

Hearing Christen talk and giggle in that matter made me feel uncomfortable. How could she behave in this manner? Christen always avoided anything that is life threatening but why would she throw herself into one now. Something’s definitely wrong with her.
After Christen’s statement, we all headed straight to the passage where the noise came from. It was quite a long walk but we eventually reached where the noise came from and as soon as we saw what was in front of us, we were all stunned. Here before our very eyes was a gathering of thousands if not millions of supernatural beings from all corners of the worlds, they had sat as if they were in a theater and in the middle of this gathering was a small space surrounded by n-ked humans all tied and gagged like animals for slaughter.

Witch 1 ➡ Looks like we’re here.
.

Wizard 1 ➡ Evlyn’s not here though. Look at this gathering.
.

Rose ➡ Alright everyone, let’s split into 2 teams. Christen, you’re with me. The rest of you find out what you can about what this assembly is all about.

Wizard 2 ➡ After that then what?
.

Christen ➡ Oh.. We take Evlyn by surprise.
.

Rose. ➡ No.. We retreat. We’re outnumbered.
.

Christen ➡ So what? We can take them.
.

Rose ➡ No.. There are demons here. Powerful ones. Let’s find out what we….
.

Christen ➡ There’s no need.. The b-tch is here.
.

Rose ➡ It’s about time. Alright Evlyn, let’s see what you’ve got planned.

After dealing with their encounters at her parent’s home, Ebinoluwa and her friends soon find their way to the old witch coven but through another entry thanks to Solomon’s knowledge of the place. After squirming their way through the passages of the catacombs, Ebinoluwa and her friends soon find their way into Evlyn’s meeting.

Rotimi ➡ By the gods! Look at this gathering!

Hadiza ➡ How old is this place?
.

Robin ➡ Older than Ibadan I bet.
.

Riley Jr ➡ (silently) Or your entire generation.

Ebinoluwa ➡ (pinches junior) Pa eku kekere mo!

Riley Jr ➡ Ouch!!

Onuya ➡ I don’t like the look of this. Just look at all beings that showed up for Evlyn! If these are all her followers, our fight against her is useless.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Let’s not give up hope yet. Let’s see what she has planned.

Rotimi ➡ Are those humans in the middle of the gathering?

Hadiza ➡ Poor souls! They’re going to die. I wish there was a very we could save them.

Robin ➡ No. Let’s not even do that. Evlyn is using them as trophy.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Or as bait. Let’s not look suspicious and spread out.
