Ekaette and Steve got the hospital. everywhere was so busy as people ran up and down especially the doctors and the nurses trying to save lives. 😍
Ekaette was so restless that Steve had to calm her down.
A nurse run and was about passing when Ekaette excused her and she stopped.
“Please which ward is Daniel admitted? she asked
“Please which of the Daniel because we have two Daniel’s being admitted. one had an accident while the other is a sick patient “she said
“The one that had the accident ”
“OK he is in ward 303. go straight to that corridor, and turn to your right and you will see the ward” she said pointing to the direction.
Without wasting time, Ekaette rushed to the direction the nurse gave her.
She opened the door and found Daniel lying on the bed with so many machines connected to his body.
She rushed to where Daniel was lying lifelessly seeing that his eyes were closed and he was barely breathing that increased the fear in her.
She knelt down besides Daniel and her tears came back afresh running from her eyes to her cheeks.
“I know that you can hear me my hero. I know that you are alive for me” she paused and then took Daniel’s palm in hers.
Steve was standing at the door side watching her displayed. he knew that there’s nothing that he can do to win her love, because the two of them are madly in love. he decided to let go of her to the real owner.
He brought out the ring 💍 again, stair at it then put it back in his trouser pocket.
Ekaette was still kneeling down and crying because Daniel did not move bus body. but only his stomach can be seen moving showing that he is still breathing.
“My hero, I promise you that if you just wake up for me to that I will be the mother of your children ”
Her tears was increasing bit by bit.
“I’m sorry I left you the time you needed me most. I am to blame for your condition but I’m sorry. I’m back for you and I will not leave again ”
Immediately she said the last word, Daniel moved his palm and then opened his eyes faintly and smiled at her which she returned the smile.
He closed his eyes back.
Daniel began vibrating and shaking badly. the machines connected to him was now making loud noise than before. Ekaette was alarmed.
She shook Daniel but it was worst he was still vibrating and shaking.
“Doctor! Doctor! she yelled and ran out of the ward to the main house.
They doctor finally arrived but this time around Daniel has stop vibrating and he was now still without shaking.
The doctor walked to him, placed his hands in his chest and then using his machine to check whether he is breathing.
He shook his head negatively and then turned to Ekaette.
“Miss can we go to my office? the doctor said
“Doctor, don’t tell me stories. what is wrong is he okay?
“Let’s just go to my office first ”
“No, I’m not leaving . tell me what is it? she asked looking sober than before.
The doctor turned to the nurses that were standing there.
“Cover him up” he said
They immediately covered Daniel’s body.
Ekaette couldn’t withstand again, she ran to where Daniel was lying and uncovered the blanket.
she shook Daniel’s body but there was no sign of life again. tears were flowing in her eyes this time around and she couldn’t help but to climb up the bed that Daniel was lying.
She shook Daniel body shouting his name for him to wake up 🌊 but nothing changed.
The nurses and the doctors held her tight consoling her to stop living.
“Doctor please tell me that he is sleeping “she said crying the more.
The doctor his head negatively.
“I’m sorry miss we tried our best, but we lost him.
Ekaette jumped on the doctor holding his clothes and slapping him on the face.
“Which best do u try! you allow him to die and you tell me that you tried your best?
They finally separate her from him.
Please take him to the mortuary, we don’t have time to waste another patient is waiting for the bed”the doctor said.
“No way, he is going nowhere. my hero is not dead he is only sleeping ” she said and walked down to Daniel body again.
The doctors and nurses pitied her and allowed her to do as she wishes but it was against the hospital rules.
Steve walked to her and consoled her. she rested on Steve’s shoulder praying that this be a dream. but it was real.
The doctors and the nurses left the ward, they gave her 5 hours to do what she wants to do with the dead body after that he will be taken to the mortuary.
Ekaette sat beside Daniel dead body on the bed. she touched him car-ssing his beards and tears dropping down slowly.
she drop her head down and began singing her their favorite song when they use to be alone.

She sang twice and her tears were increasing. this time around she was lying in the same bed with Daniel.

again the last time expecting something to happen .
It was already 5 pm in the evening and nothing still happened and the 5 hours the doctors gave to her had expired.
The ward door fling open and the doctor emerged in with the nurses to carry Daniel body to the mortuary.
They were shocked to see Ekaette lying down with the dead body on the same bed. even Steve was by her side.
he never left but stayed with her.
The doctor directed Daniel body to be taken to the mortuary.
Ekaette began singing the same song again crying this time around and her voice was cracking.
They walked to the bed and covered Daniel body again.
immediately they tried to lift Daniel’s body, they heard someone sneeze.
they looked at each other in awe, the sneeze came again.
“Take off the blanket! Ekaette ordered and immediately they took it off.
They were all surprised at what they saw.
