A Glimpse Of Her (episode 10)
Have you ever just looked at someone and think to yourself “Wow! This is my soulmate”?. That moment the reality of how much you love the person dawns on you and then you begin to concur to the fact that no one else could ever complete you like they do?. Most people think that ‘soulmates’ are myths because they can’t seem to fathom the reality that there is someone out there created just for them, but the truth is that there is indeed someone special created for everyone.
The popular saying “there are many fishes in the ocean” has robbed so many people of their soulmates. People with this school of thought believe that everyone is replaceable but that’s not the truth. There are certain people that will walk into your live and touch you in a way no one else can and ever will. The bond you share with such a person can’t be duplicated in another. At times, it takes losing that special person for you to realise that they are truly irreplaceable. It’s such a relief that Michael and Tiffany realized that they were soulmates before it was too late.
On that fateful evening when Michael visited Tiffany’s house to apologize after finding out that Lauren was the one that caused their separation, he met a highly devastated woman that had been crying nonstop for over a month since their separation. The tension in the atmosphere was too intoxicating and before either of them knew what was happening, they were already on the bed ready to devour each other.
“Make love to me” Tiffany said while gasping for breath and looking into Michael’s eyes. “Babe are you sure you want us to do this?” Michael asked and she replied “Yes” with every certainty in her heart. Despite the fact that Michael wanted Tiffany as badly as she wanted him, he just couldn’t bring himself to actually make love to her. For whatever reason, the timing just didn’t feel right. “Babe I don’t think we should do this now. I know you want me and trust me when I say there’s nothing I want more than anything else in the world than to feel your body right now for the first time but I just don’t think the timing is right. You are in your feelings and that’s ok because I’m in my feelings too. We haven’t seen each other for over a month now and that’s enough reason for us to feel this way. Let’s utilize this moment and talk about our relationsh¡p. Firstly, I want to start by saying I’m sorry for every pain I have caused you. I know all that happened between you and Lauren and I take all the blame for it. Hopefully, she is gone for good so you don’t need to worry about her or anyone again. Please find it in your heart to forgive me and give us another chance. I haven’t stopped thinking about you since the day I walked out on you about a month ago. It took this separation for me to realise how much you truly mean to me. I love you and want you back” he said while car×ssing her hair as they laid on the bed.
Those words from Michael touched Tiffany’s heart dearly and made her even more sober and vulnerable. Deep down, she was happy that he declined her advances even though she partly wanted it. That single action from Michael made her fall even more in love with him. They cuddled each other tightly all night as they talked about the way forward for their relationsh¡p. It’s safe to say that the lovebirds were now back together. What a thing of joy!
As days turned to weeks and weeks to months, Michael began to secretly nurture the thought of taking things to the next level. There was no single doubt in his heart that Tiffany was the one for him so he saw no reason not to engage her now she was still in his grip.
Plans for the engagement secretly began to take shape but Tiffany was unaware that she was about to become a whole ‘Fiancee’. Michael tried as much as he could to keep his plans unknown to her so as not to spoil the surprise. It wasn’t an easy thing to do but it was going to be worth it.
As the day scheduled of the proposal drew nearer, Michael began to do things geared towards a successful proposal. Firstly, he got her a VIP ticket to see his match that was coming up that weekend. He also got tickets for her mum and only sister. Unaware of the fact that she was about to be officially hitched, Tiffany thanked her boo for being kind enough to invite her family to his game. She had no idea that he did that so that her family could witness her engagement.
Finally, the big day came and to be honest, Michael was a bit nervous that something might go wrong. He spoke to Tiffany early that day to remind her of the game coming up that evening. “Yes of course, I will be there babe!” She happily said as she prepared to head out for work. She had an extra lesson with some senior students in school that Saturday. He reminded her to bring her mun and sister along so that their tickets won’t go to waste and she assured him they would be there.
All through that day, Tiffany strangely kept fantasizing about being engaged to Michael. She occasionally smiled and lifted her fingers up imagining a ring there. Not for once did she ever imagine that she would be officially hitched that day. She felt it would be a very long time before Michael will desire to settle down but it’s apparent she had a wrong thinking coming. If only she knew that day was the D-Day, I believe she would have fainted.
As the hour for the game drew near, Michael sent one of his cars to pick Tiffany and her family up and bring them to the stadium. He wanted to give them VIP treatment from start to finish and this made Tiffany happy. When they arrived at the stadium, they were ushered in separately to the VIP section so they could watch the match without obstructions. Shortly after they arrived, the match began.
The match was a successful one as Michael’s team won. It was an exciting two hours of their lives and they did have a lot of fun. As the match came to an end, the players began to exchange handshakes and Tiffany couldn’t stop smiling as she watched her boo shake hands with other players. She was extremely proud of him and super happy for him as well. Just when they were about to leave the stadium, the big stadium screen began to show a slideshow of photo compilation of Michael and Tiffany happy moments. She froze due to shock as she watched the slideshow with a lovely background song playing. Her mind couldn’t fathom what was going on till the slideshow came to an end with the inscription “Tiffany, Will You Marry Me?”. It was then that she knew what was about to go down.
While still lost of words, Michael got a microphone and called Tiffany to the center of the stadium. She wished the ground would just open and swallow her up because she was extremely shy. Together with the massive crowd, her mum and sister cheered her on to go met her boo. As Tiffany took each step closer to Michael, the tension in her heart began to fizzy away. When she got to where he stood, he instantly knelt down and began to speak. “Babe, I know you don’t like public show of affection but I want the world to know how much you mean to me. Since you can into my life, it have become blissful and peaceful. You thought me how to love all over again even when I thought I knew it all. You are my teacher, bestfriend and soulmate and I never want to think of another person to go through life with other than you babe. I love you with all my heart and want you to be my wife and the mother of my children. In you alone I see my future. Babe, will you marry me?” He said and without even hesitating, she s¢ræmed “Yes Babe, I will marry you”.
A round of applause followed as beautiful balloons and surprises decorations began to fall from above. Immediately Michael was done ins××ting the diamond ring on Tiffany’s finger, a white Range Rover drove in,side the stadium with a red ribbon on it and the crowd s¢ræmed even more.
Michael looked at Tiffany who was in awe and still in shock and said to her “congratulations babe, you are now the latest car owner in town”. Immediately he said that, she happily jumped on him and s¢ræmed “Ayeee!”.
