“Sorry, I got carried away.”
Adrian said when he pulled away, he bit his l-ips with a smile.

I just nodded unable to say a word, my heart was racing and my l-ips still felt warm from the sudden k!$s.

“Goodnight, Chloe.”
He stared at me briefly before turning around to leave.

“Goodnight, Adrian.”
I managed to let the words out when he reached the door.

“What just happened?”
I asked myself immediately the door closed.

“Why did….oh my God…”
I looked around me searching frantically for my phone.

“You k!$sed him back you idiot, you k!$sed him back.”
I mumbled as I laid on the bed still doing my search.

“Where is the stupid phone?!”
I sยขrรฆmed in frustration.

Lo and behold the stupid phone was right beside me, I grabbed it and dialled my best friend.

“Pick up the phone, Vina.”
I tried her again but she didn’t answer the call.
I gr0-ned and buried my face in my palms.

“Why did I turn? I should have stopped him.”
I cried out frustrated. Grey? Grey!

“It was an accident, we were two adults lost in the moment, that’s it.”
I convinced myself.

I gr0-ned again not sure of what to do about my situation, I didn’t know how Adrian was taking it, he was the one that took the k!$s further anyway.

I wished I knew what he was thinking, a light knock on my door made me jump.

“Chloe, are you awake?”
I heard Tristan’s voice.

Did Adrian tell him? I reached to turn off the headlamp but the door opened, I pulled my hand away and stared at Tristan.

“Why are you staring at me like that?”
He asked cocking his perfectly carved left eyebrow.

“Why are you staring at me like that?”
I turned the question back to him.

“Why aren’t you dressed for bed?”

“I was busy.”

“Doing what?”

“k!$sing Adrian”

“Playing sudoku.”
He chuckled shaking his head.

To be honest, I despised that game, my mom used to force my sister and I to play it, she said it was good for the brain.

“Do you need help?”

“I thought you were tired?”

“Yeah but you’re in my care so…”

“I’m good,” I cut in.

“Okay, goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”
I breathed out in relief as he turned to leave.

I reached for my phone and tried Belvina again but she still wasn’t answering my calls.

I held my head in my palms, I wanted to sort this out before tomorrow and I needed Vina’s advice.

I decided to text her, I sent like twenty texts with crying emojis. I changed into my sweats and went to sleep.

โ˜†
My ringtone woke me up early the next morning, I searched for my phone with my hand half-asleep and found it close to my pillow.

I was able to locate the answer symbol with my eyes closed.

“Hello,” I mumbled.

“You k!$sed Adrian Parker?!!!”
Vina’s voice knocked the sleep out of me.

“It was an accident.”
I heard her scoff, I sat up and leaned on the headboard.

“Wait, how did you know his last name?”

“I have known him since I was sixteen.”
She said in a ‘duh’ kinda way.
I rolled my eyes as if she could see me.

“Remember the hot guy on those magazine covers that I had a mega crush on?”

“Yeah, wait, it’s this Adrian?”

“Yes.”

I didn’t know how to feel about that. She had a crush on him, she even stalked him on social media. I remembered how she always keeps herself busy with business magazines just reading about him and staring at his pictures.

“You’ll be happy to know he is 28, he was a popular swimmer before going into business school and he dated….”

“I’m not interested.”

“Oh come on, it’s just eight years and he is super hot.”

“Vina it was supposed to be a goodnight k!$s on the cheek.”

“Yeah, but you both took it to another level. I’m so jealous.”

“You’re making me regret telling you.”

“Okay sorry, what are you gonna do?”

“I don’t know, why else would I call you and text you multiple times?”

“Well, what was his reaction? What did he say?”

“He apologized and said he got carried away.”

“Hmmm carried away huh?”
She said with that mischievous tone and I pictured her with a grin on her face.

“Vina,” I gr0-ned.

“Sorry, what are you so afraid of if it meant nothing?”

“I don’t know, things might get awkward between us and I don’t want that.”

“Is that all.”

“Grey,” I confessed.

“Look, let Grey believe whatever he wants but you need to move on. What he did was very stupid, you don’t wanna return to someone that won’t waste any second to believe what people say about you.”

“I just wanna talk to him.”

“Your choice, do whatever your heart wants.”

“So, what about Adrian?”
I asked.

“Just try and talk to him.”

“Well…..I don’t really know what I’m gonna say to him.”
There was a knock on the door immediately I finished my sentence.

“It’s open!” I sยขrรฆmed.
I was expecting Morris to open the door but It was Adrian, he gave me that charming smile and that can I come in? Look.

“He is here.”
I whispered into the phone stylishly.

“Adrian Parker is in front of you?!!!”
Vina sยขrรฆmed loud enough for him to hear.

Adrian cocked a brow at me, I forced a smile and put the phone down ending the call.

“Hi,” I said sitting upright.
He was wearing a navy blue two-piece blue suit that had sharp creases at the front, his hair was perfectly styled at the front and he looked like a modern-day prince.
Gosh, this guy could rock anything he wears even a nun’s habit.

“Were you just talking about me?”
He asked jokingly.

“No?”
I denied.

He walked in wearing a smile, his eyes moved to my feet.

“How is it?”

“Getting better I guess.”

“Did you have a good sleep?”

“Yeah, you?”

“Splendid.”
Good for him, he was acting all casual like nothing happened last night.

Maybe I was overreacting, but I still felt like we needed to talk about it.

“Adrian, about last night…”

“It was great but it was never meant to happen, honestly I got carried away and I’m sorry if you’re feeling uncomfortable about it.”

“Sure, I don’t want things getting awkward between us.”

“Nothing feels awkward but I get your point, we just met but I’m irresistible.”
He winked.

I never knew he was cocky, I chuckled.

“Don’t flatter yourself.”

“You k!$sed me back because I’m so irresistible, admit it.”

“Get out.”

“You’re not denying it.”

“Can we not talk about last night, please?”

“Of course.”

“I’m curious about one thing though.”

“What?”

“What do you mean you got carried away?”

“Well, when our l-ips touched, I wanted to know what you taste like?”

“And?” I pressed trying not to blush.

“You tasted like toothpaste.”
He said with a funny look, we both burst into loud laughter.

“It’s not my fault, I just finished brushing.”
I said when I got a grip on myself.

“So you’re saying you taste better?” he smirked.

“I’m not having this conversation and you tasted like the wine we had at dinner.”

“Then I tasted good.”
I shook my head at his cockiness.

“Why are you here? Aren’t you suppose to be at work?”

“Tristan said he is too tired to drive and since Morris has to be here for you, I’m his only choice.”

“I love your suit.”

“I know,” He dusted his shoulders with swag and did a popular pose.

“Please lock your cocky side away.”
He laughed.

“I will take you down, Tristan is still not well.”

“Liar but this is the last time you’re helping him.”

“Yes ma’am,” He said with a bow.

“I might ruin your beautiful suit.”

“It’s okay, the suit came with two jackets.”

“Ohh.”
He gathered me in his arms and we left the room.

“Your Cologne is addictive, is it weird to use men’s perfume, like for a lady?” I asked.

“Thanks and no, I find it s-ร—y for a lady to use men’s cologne. It’s like wearing his shirt.”

“Right, I guess you don’t mind bringing me this particular one on you.”

“Chloe Simpson, are you flirting with me?”

“You wish,” I hit his shoulder and he laughed.

“Fine, I will bring it to you. Is there anything else you need from me?”

“Yes, your dimples.”

He laughed as we got off the last step.

Morris was setting breakfast on the dining when we arrived.

“Good morning, Miss Simpson.”

“Morning Morris.”
I gave him a wide smile.

“How are you feeling?”

“I’m good.”
He gave me a smile and left for the kitchen.

“Uhmm waffles,” I m0-ned.
I heard footsteps behind me and I knew it was Tristan, I could smell his Cologne from where I was sitting. My nose was very sensitive, don’t blame me.

“Thanks for coming man.”
He took the seat facing me, he was wearing a grey suit with a black tie.
His hair was unkempt but it looked good on him.
